The good: Purchased a NIB FS All mountain bike in Feb 2017. Phone service was great, my sales person Craig got me a killer deal, even less than the price posted online!! Credit where credit is due. Zero complaints in this department! Shipping to WV from CA was as expected, package arrived to my front door via UPS ground in 8 days, they even delivered to my side building as requested...not too shabby for free shipping of a package of that size if you ask me. Packaging was snug and tight, bike arrived 100% unharmed, and tracking was on-point from the get-go, zero complaints here. The Bad: The reason for my 3 star review begins here. I ordered a M sized frame (17.5") and that is the item that was reflected on my order both online and in the packaged receipt/checklist. Upon arrival, the frame was a size L (19.0")..at first this burnt me as I just dropped close to 2k on a new ride and didn't even get what I ordered. Luckily, I was on the fence prior to order between a M and a L as I am 5' 9.5" and that is right between the two frame size recommendations from the manufacturer. I've always liked my HT XC rides to be a bit on the small side for nimbleness on the trail due to my lighter body weight (140), despite the flub on Jenson's part I set the L up anyway and took a seat and am not disappointed with the size and am going to give it a shot, after all this is my first FS setup and change can be a good thing, am I right. Side note: I like to think this incident is isolated as the bike I purchased was a 2015 model and in low supply so maybe their webpage was out of date and they only had L sized frames left in stock... Secondly, the bike checklist claims the bike was assembled and gone over by the Jenson Pros prior to shipment, if this is the case, which it very well could be, they missed tuning the derailleurs to assure smooth operation...the front derailleur cage rubs the chain in both the H and L gears. The rear jumps cogs like crazy. Luckily I'm a tinkerer and well versed to automotive and MX mechanics and opted away from purchasing form the LBS for the sole purpose of forcing me to become better versed in bicycle mechanics since I wont get the free/discounted service perks of a LBS purchase. All negatives aside, and despite receiving an incorrectaly sized product, I would do business with Jenson in the future for non frame related purchases as their prices cannot be beat IMO. It is a bummer the frame is the wrong size, do not get me wrong there, however, I am keeping positive and thinking the flub occurred for a reason and I will be better off with the L....after all I did have a good convo with my salesperson, Craig, about how I was in between the two frame sizes and was on the fence. My experience at JENSON USA was really BAD as follows: I have chosen a bike in their website, which advertisement clearly stated that it was tuned to a better rear shock. I printed the advertisement from their website and went to Jenson's Riverside store to purchase the bike. BEFORE placing my order, I asked the sales guy and he has CONFIRMED that the bike was indeed exactly as advertised. Then I placed my order and paid. They asked for 3 days to deliver the bike. So when I went to the store 3 days after to pick it up, I found out that the bike was actually not tuned with the better rear shock. After my inquiring, the same sales guy said it was a "typo" and then the advertisement was wrong, and also that himself was misled by the typo (?!?). Some possible solutions have been raised by a manager, but never the right and obvious one: delivering my order for the price already paid including the upgraded rear shock, as advertised and agreed at the moment that I placed the order. How come an order placed and paid can be changed?! How come JENSON USA don't commit with their customers orders, specially in these circumstances. I also complained at JENSON's website customer support link, where I got a quick answer stating that I would "get a feedback soon", but didn't get it after a week. Jenson, never again!! read more

I've ordered from Jenson USA quite a few times. One of my issues is shipping time. I live on the east coast and I realize packages ship from California, but I'm assuming they are using the cheapest option available because it usually takes about 7 days to reach me. That leads me to my real issue and that's returns. You have to pay return shipping with Jenson USA and unfortunately some items require trying them on. I just had to return a helmet due to size and when I went to the post office I had to pay $20 to return a $74 helmet. The cheapest option at the post office was $18, but that didn't include tracking. Due to their return policy, I now try and find other vendors and will choose Amazon every time if I can. Even Chain Reaction Cycles, which ships from England gets to me faster and I just looked and see that they offer $1.99 returns. See ya Jenson. read more

Would not price match as advertised. I contacted Jenson USA to buy a particular bike at the end of its model year. Another large Southern California bike shop was selling all 2019s from this particular brand for 20% off. Sales rep on the phone was reluctant to price match them even after sending proof of the same exact model, but not size, being discounted 20% off. The other retailer would honor all sizes, but had to order my particular size. I was leaving on a trip and Jenson had the size i needed in stock. They refused to honor the other retailers price despite asking a manager. Very disappointing and not consistent with price match guarantee considering the other retailer did not have a size restriction. I ended up getting the the 20% off on a new 2019 Santa Cruz in my size from the other major retailer but had to order it. (Saved about $1000k) but had to wait 10 days. Long story short, Jenson USA is unlikely to deal on bikes, even if the next years models are already coming out and their competitors are willing to deal. read more

I've been shopping with Jenson for about 4 years because of their large selection, low prices, good sales, and easy price matching. This was the first time I've had a problem with my order and they handled it perfectly. When I received an older version of a rear derailleur I ordered, I called them the next morning, and had the correct derailleur at my door the next day no charge. Great Company to do business with. I ordered a bike from them and was pleased with the experience. Bike came almost fully assembled and adjusted. The only reason I gave them 4 stars instead of 5 is that there was a small delay in shipping because of a billing issue on their part and the bike had a small scratch on the shock. Jenson USA, yes they ship fast but the bottom line is this - if you install a part on your bike and don't like it- you own it- they won't allow a return- terrible customer service. Nashbar has a lifetime satisfaction guarantee (I've returned items no question asked 2 years later for full credit to a gift card. REI has a 100% satisfaction guarantee (if returned within one year). Yes Jenson USA has great low prices- but you will pay for it in the end. Jenson is a big company however, their customer service was poor. I bought a wrong mountain bike tires (Vittoria, Jafaki) an honest mistake for my MTB and I contacted them about it to maybe I can exchange it to the right tire which they have in stock and all I am asking is send me a return label address for me to be able to return it and buy the right one from their store! "I am going to buy the right one in their store" not from the other store. Guess what? they wanted me to send the wrong item back out on my own for shipping, then buy the right one and pay again for the shipping. This little issue could have easily been resolve by them considering all the circumstances and made the decision in helping me resolve the issue. That's not the right way to treat a customer who had an honest mistake. For their customer service communication it really down me, flat rate horrible. Here are the scenario; did the live "chat" with their order specialist CRAIG and in the beginning it was good but when I am explaining my situation he just dropped the chat and that's it. Tried to open the chat box but to no avail can't get into it no more, saying that if you have a question email the company, wow this is just like hanging/slamming up a phone for someone. Okay, so I still tried to email them the situation again and never got any response from them. Called again the order specialist CRAIG and was always busy. Bottom line assessment; JENSON, you guys had built up a very good name in the cycling business mainly due to small time customers like me, I have bought few items from you before and have no issues. But in this situation all I can tell is, you have lost another customer to poor customer service..........need to improve your customer relation to retain small time customers like me to get your business going. read more

I ordered a bike, including a bike build-up and some accessories. I wasn't satisfied with the wheels and handlebar tape on the bike, after which they replaced both with an amazingly upgrade! This wasn't necessary at all off course and they even reimbursed the costs I made at the local bike shop and for return shipment of my 'old' wheels. Perhaps I contacted a Jenson in an alternate universe. I see almost all positive reviews, but my experience is they can not accomplish the most basic transaction. Literally, they can not figure out how to ship to an address if it differs from a PO Box. Even after talking to their online chat where I was assured it was taken care of, it is not. I had a serious problem with Jenson. I live in Brazil and I travelled To Europe. Since I flied with TAP my flight had to make a connection in Lisbon. I decided to pass one night in Lisbon. I made a purchase with Jenson to be delivered in the hotel. There was the assurance that the request would be there when I arrived. But it was not. I called UPS who informed me that I could only access the package the day after of my departure. UPS told me the only solution would be the return to Jenson. The total of my purchase was $ 186.00, of which $ 31.00 was for shipping. I requested reimbursement that was denied. Jenson argues that the costs to get back the package was over $ 200.00. This is impossible. To go to Portugal costs $ 31.00 and get back $ 200.00. Jenson can not prove the expenses. In summary Jenson is with my money and someone with my components. The only thing I liked was the price I paid for the bike I bought. It was supposed to receive a free bronze level bike build which in my opinion it did not. I've never seen a wheel more out of true. I don't think it was ever touched. The rear brakes were spongy so clearly the person that "tuned" the bike had no idea what they were doing in that department. There are a couple of gears that will not engage properly either. A properly tuned bike would not have these issues. I guess that's what the free bike build that I was given consist of. Taking it out of the original packing, repacking it into their own makeshift packing and sending it out. I sent them an email a week ago about this issue and they didn't even have the courtesy to email me back. ***Update**** PLEASE READ!!!! I would like to thank Justin and Shawn from Jenson USA for sorting all of this out. Turns out, there was a mistake made in which my email wasn't forwarded and received by the correct person. I can understand that because nobody is perfect. The important thing here is that Justin took the time to make things right and I really appreciate that. That tells me that customer service is a top priority to them. They reimbursed me for what I spent at the local bike shop and I will order from Jenson again in the future. I recently placed an order with JensonUSA but then spoke to a specialist and realized that the merchandise I ordered wouldn't be beneficial for the purposes I needed it for and contacted JensonUSA to make sure that I had all the information I needed for a return. When I originally placed the order I checked their online return policies which stated hassle free returns within 365 days - the customer service representative I spoke to was extremely helpful and assured me of this and said that as long as I returned the item in their original condition I'd be eligible for a full refund. I then waited for the package to arrive so that I was able to do so. When the package arrived that week by UPS - I had explained to the UPS employee that I had just moved to the area and needed to return the package and asked where the closest UPS office was - he told me that it was no problem at all and that to make it easier he'd be able to take it and complete the return via UPS - as to which I agreed. As of last week - I had not received an email or communication that my refund was in process or completed - so I contacted JensonUSA again on Friday, June 8, 2018. Again, the customer service representative was extremely helpful and explained to me that the package had been refused and was in a UPS warehouse. I explained that I didn't refuse the package and that a UPS employee had taken it to complete the return. I contacted UPS and they provided me with a phone number to provide to shipper - (JensonUSA) so that an arrangement would be made for the package to be shipped back to JensonUSA. I called back JensonUSA and provided them with that phone number and the customer service representative told me he'd forward the information to the appropriate department and somebody would contact me in regard to this. After another week had passed - I called back JensonUSA on Friday, June 15,2018 as nobody had contacted me and I wanted an update on what had happened with the return. When I called this afternoon - I had explained all of this to the customer service representative I spoke to - although this time I didn't receive the same quality customer service I had received previously. I requested to speak to a supervisor and he'd explained to me that he was a supervisor and his name was Morgan. Morgan first explained to me that it had appeared I refused the package to which I assured him I didn't refuse the package. He then explained to me that because UPS had misinformed me that there were approx. $150 worth of return charges incurred (which is approx. $200 CDN). The cost of my entire order was approx. $425 CDN. I was extremely shocked as this seemed completely unacceptable to me as that is an outrageous amount to pay for a refund. This is the only option that Morgan had offered me and he seemed to think it was completely reasonable. He continued to talk over me and continued to repeat himself that I needed to think about JensonUSA and all of the costs and troubles incurred to receive international returns - I asked him if he thought a $200 fee for an international return seemed reasonable and he exclaimed he did as it basically in the best interest of JensonUSA - he showed little to no regard for myself as a consumer - and I felt extremely unvalued and disrespected as a customer. I'd just like to point out that I have placed many international orders and have made a handful of returns and have never received the outrageous lack of quality, empathy, and understanding that both Morgan and Jeff displayed towards me as a customer. They didn't seem concerned about me as a consumer and appeared to have no other options for me or willingness to work with me to come to a reasonable solution to this matter. As professionals in customer service I find it extremely hard to understand how this business thrives on such poor quality customer service. Both of these agents didn't offer any alternatives and basically insisted I pay the $200CDN amount to receive the difference back which would basically be half the total amount of my entire order - which to me seems outrageous. When I'd mentioned their online policies for hassle free returns - they explained that it was different for international orders as I live in Canada and the freight costs are much more and again told me I needed to keep in mind what it meant to JensonUSA and the costs incurred to receive merchandise back - again with no regard to consumers. This should be outlined and detailed under their return policies - under the "exceptions area" as this would have been beneficial to know before I opted to order from JensonUSA. I will be extremely hesitant to make international orders from now on - even with companies whose policies state hassle free returns for ALL customers - as this is clearly not the case. Although there was a lack of communication via UPS and this case has multiple variable - it does not excuse the poor customer service that I received this afternoon. read more

So..... I ordered 3 Items from Jenson on 5/10 all labled "In Stock", I got a shipping notice my paypal was charged and 6 days later 5/16 I received my package. One Item was missing from the package and was marked Back Ordered on the packing slip. I contacted Jenson because I was never notified of the Back order nor was the Item labeled back ordered. I was willing to wait for the Item assuming max 3-4 weeks before I get the Item. I called the manufacture of the part I ordered and they told me they no longer make the part, I contact Jenson again to ask If they were recieving a part or not because the manufacture said they stopped making it. Jenson Via chat didn't say yes or no they only asked If i wanted to get a different part that was the wrong part because they could ship it right away. I told them no I need the part I ordered so I asked them again will I eventually get this part or do i need to figure out a new part that works. They told me it will be 3-4 weeks. Today I got an email stating they don't have the part, they don't have one on order, and they are calling all their vendors to see if they can get the part. I went on ebay and purchased the exact part Jenson said was on back order in 5 mins for the exact same price and recieved a shipping notice in 30 mins. I now wanted to cancel my Jenson order and get a refund for the Item. Jenson didn't pick up their phone for over a hour. at the top right of their website it says "Excellent Customer Service", It should really say too busy smoking a Bong to answer the phone. From here on out If i need a part I may go on JensonUSA just to find the part I need then immediately order It from Ebay. Ebay is quicker easier and more reliable with better customer service. Jenson uses deceptive shipping practices. Products marked as 'in stock' might actually be sitting in someone else's warehouse in Minnesota, not in their own warehouse in CA. Shipping dates won't reflect this and will make it look like the product is nearby. There will be a shipping delay for the product to get shipped as the third party processes the order then up to a week of shipping time to arrive in the Western US. There's no mention of this BS practice on their website. read more

Ordered reynolds wheels from them that stated "usually ships 1-2 weeks". Ok fine. Good price I'll wait. Order them then get an email with a Promise date of 3 weeks. Ok really? Fine one more week I'll wait. Two weeks go by so call to check on the order. Now the promise date is 5 weeks from the initial order. I canceled the order. I ordered some other parts during this and they shipped quickly. Do not use them if it is not instock. I won't use them again. read more

Like a few other folks that gave one stars, I experienced the same BS with not in stock items. I ordered a bike rack during the Memorial Day sales, when other retailers were also having the same sales. I chose Jenson because they could get the color I wanted and they were a few dollars better in the sale. Even though they were out of stock they said the item would be in stock in a week and shipped then. So I ordered it. Then waited and waited. Date came and went, so I called. They said the supplier was having issues, and they asked to wait another two weeks. Two weeks goes by and nothing, so I call and they said they think they have it on their warehouse dock and it will ship in a week. So I waited and waited and then called again. New update June 27th. So I waited and waited and June 29th I called to find out they will never be getting that model again. Great cancel my order. I now bought the same rack from REI but paid almost $100 more because the sale they had also expired memorial day. I should have just bought from REI to begin with. So to wrap up the story, these folks have nice people working in the customer service department, and they tried to help every time I called. I was even offered a rack from another vendor that was more expensive for the same price but they didnt have it in stock either. What I really wanted was for them to buy the rack from anywhere and suck up the lost margin dollars to make me whole again considering I purposely bought from them due to the website saying they would get it. That was deceptive. So my one star is not for the sales guys, or the customer reps, which are awesome. My one star is for the purchasing people behind the scenes that cant get their you know what together and have proper website inventory, or worse, subscribe to this deceptive practice. Called my bank, they knew what to do - but Jenson was unable to process a $3k order. Spent over 30 mins on hold yesterday to talk to the right person, then my wife spent another 30+ minutes with them (plus checking in at our bank) today. Unusual bikeshop. They have a small retail area with computer terminals and a few items. You look up the items on the website and then they go into the main warehouse to pick the items up and bring them to you. I tried to buy a set of hand grips for my son's bike. During the transaction the cashier asked for my address, which I did not want give them, but he said that they needed it to process the debit card transaction. I gave him the address and then he asked me for my phone number. This was the last straw. I do not think a vendor needs to have so much personal information to process a small debit card transaction. I left without purchasing anything. Obviously, they were planning to sell my information to telemarketers. This might be a great place for hardcore cyclists, but for the average Joe, there are better options where you do not feel like you are getting conned. read more

Jenson USA has decent prices though I can find most items for the same price as Jenson's as there are now several online bike part retailers. My frustration with them is they are not completely honest and try to trick customers into buying later by sending them discount codes that are not applicable to much, if anything, in the store. The game they play is to send one a coupon worth a big discount on one regularly priced item. There is a disclaimer that the coupon does not work on all brands though they do not tell you which brands are discounted until you put them in your cart and attempt to redeem the coupon. Recently, I had an order filled out with several items in my cart and the coupon didn't work on any of the items in my cart. This morning, I attempted to order a new rear hub for more than $200. I again attempted use a coupon that Jenson mailed to me and found out it didn't work on that brand either. I expressed my concern on their chat and they said that they would give me a discount today. That misses the point that I would simply prefer an honest coupon if they are going to send me a coupon at all. I declined the discount and have decided to shop someplace else from now on. I simply don't want to waste my time in the future, logging on and filling my cart before finding out that my coupon is worthless. Another site I frequently shop is up front and mentions that whether or not an item can be discounted it the item's description. I can appreciate that as no time is wasted for an unfulfilled expectation. read more
