I have had a hard time funding good Jamaican food in the city but no longer shall that be the case. My friend and I both got medium jerk chicken platters with came with peas n rice and some sort of veggie du jour (fennel maybe?). Portion was massive. The large must be unbearable. I have been to this truck a few times as I work in the building right beside it. It is not a bad option as it is one of the most inexpensive options in the area and you get a lot for what you paid for. There is also always a long line after 12pm so I recommend coming at 11:45 right before the line forms. I always get the jerk chicken only which is only $7 with jerk sauce on the side. I am not a fan of how the chicken is always cut right through the bone as there are always shards to watch out for. The chicken is also dry as it has been sitting there for a while. Overall I would say it is a decent lunch option but there is better out there. read more

My mom had been craving oxtails and we heard about this food trip when we were in New York. We decided to find it and she loved it. I was pleasantly surprised at the food to price ratio. It's New York, so you expect food in general to be expensive. Not here, she got plenty of food for about $10. She really loved the oxtails and rice, but she's not a fan of cabbage. She didn't ask to sub it, so I don't know if they do that. She just didn't try it, so can't comment on it lol. Let me repeat that I've never in my life had either before, so the taste of it has nothing to do with Jerk Pan at all. It was way bigger than I expected and probably about $2.50 for both. wow, the jerk chicken here is pretty spectacular. a welcome alternative to the generic chicken n rice carts that dot the streets. ordering can be a little confusing so lemme break it down for you. the platters have 2 sizes: $8 and $10 (for the jerk chicken, prices vary slightly for other dishes) which includes: 1. entree 2. rice & beans (with your choice of gravy/sauce over it) 3. a side. they also offer a "mini" size (~$6) is just meat + rice & beans. the chicken is tender and amazingly well-spiced, be sure to get the sweet/spicy jerk sauce. i was hoping to save half of it for dinner, but i couldn't stop eating it was so good. i'd say go for the brown gravy sauce instead of the oxtail gravy (too sweet). things to be aware of: bones in the chicken are brittle, so beware of shards. avoid the steamed vegetables as a side (it is mostly weird-tasting cabbage). the line can be long and it takes awhile to fill each person's order, but the free smells will entice you to endure the wait. read more

I ordered a meal that contained stew chicken with white rice and steamed veggies that came with rice and peas with no side. I also ordered two oxtail meals that also came with no side. This was delivered and once I received my order, and went back to work, I realized this. I spoke to the manager who informed me that I can get any order I'd like next time to make up for it, oxtail or what ever I'd like. I called in about a week or two later to receive this meal and they then told me it can only a mini chicken meal and delivery is a $15 meal minimum knowing that I can not travel there because I told them this the last time. This was the worst experience that I have ever had to deal with when dealing with food. I did not even eat my meal the first time because I did not want rice and peas. Jamaican Truck! - like going to Montego Bay without the long flight. Always a line and they run out of stuff fast so get there early. Most of the people in line are Jamaican so how good must this be? Very good! I love their Ox Tail stew with peas and rice. Awesome. The fried chicken is great too as well as the patties. The patties are not quite as good as they are in Jamaica and I didn't see any Pickapeppa sauce so that is a minor detraction. It's really the oxtail that keeps me coming back. My officemates have eaten the jerk chicken and the chicken curry and they are big fans. Warning: it's messy and bony but that's where all the flavor come from Mon.
