Overall the food, freshness, presentation, packaging, taste, delivery time were all good with one minor exception - The curry goat and curry chicken - gravy/sauce was too watery and the curry was extremely weak but otherwise tasty dishes. Feedback on the other dishes: *jerk chicken (dark meat) - excellent *beef patty - good but strange you had to select MEAT preparation type because I have never heard of such a thing ever with a Jamaican patty *plantains - great I would recommend this restaurant and will definitely order from them again. read more

1st time trying them and it was delicious, very flavorful I just feel like my coleslaw should have been separate from my food because it was cold it should have been in its own container but other than that it was good definitely trying them out again. The oxtail and her chicken was EXCELLENT, but the rice and peas were underdone and somehow the beef patty was undercooked and burnt at the same time... we also had to wait almost an hour for our order... but that Mac and cheese was the best I'd ever had at any Caribbean joint. So I had a friend pick me up an order and the cashier - Monee was extremely rude for no reason. He ordered the jerk chicken with nachos and she decided to hound him about not saying jerk chicken nachos instead of jerk chicken with nachos. I'd never go back. I stopped in by myself around 9pm on a Friday night. They took my order at the register. I ordered Jerk chicken salad, a side of plantains and cabbage. Drinks must be ordered at the bar, I planned on getting a smoothie but the bartender overlooked and ignored me for 20 mins. She was not busy at all there was no one there. She was wiping down the area but would not look in my direction. After being ignored for 20 mins I chose not to get the smoothie and sat in a booth. My wait time was pushing an hour so I asked the bartender if she could check on my food. She said yes but spent the next 20 mins restocking the bar. I went to the front register to check on my food myself...when she saw an employee approaching me she then asked them to check on my food. I waited an hour and 10 mins total. Unfortunately jerky jerky has lost its touch. Ive used them for my housewarming, ordered it weekly for myself, family and friends when they first opened but now they've fallen to low customer service, long wait times, and no remorse or repair to bad service experience. They've left customers waiting 1hr for orders. Even for called in orders. They told Me it would be 30mins but ended up taking an hour. When I asked for extra sauce I was told $1. I would think that would have been given for free considering the time it took was WAY OFF. I seen orders from other customers get mixed up and no remorse for their mistakes. Lastly which was the most frustrating part was the famous Alfredo jerk pasta poorly being made now. It's usually amazing but instead it was soupy, bland and smaller portion. Very disappointing. Where do I start, I ordered food for lunch thru Grubhub, the plus food was ready and deli in a timely manner. Great. That's about the only good thing I can say. Ordered a half chicken mixed....it came with NO rice, what kind of jerk place doesn't have rice with their jerk chicken dinners. It came with one side and I got yams, there were literally TWO yams in my tray ....the chicken lacked flavor and tasted left over. The yams were kinda sour which I still don't understand. Also got a burrito, the rice that should've been in my tray was definitely in the burrito. I'm definitely not ordering from here again. Easily the worse jerk place in the state of Illinois. Overall I had a great experience and would definitely recommend it to others. Upon walking into the restaurant the cashier and the man in the back were extremely friendly. I rarely write reviews but I had to for my new favorite Jamaican spot in Chicago. They're normally not busy but today the lunch orders were through the roof! The staff handled everything with ease getting orders out as fast as they could. Because of my wait, they hooked me up with a free soda which was more than nice! If you ever decide to check this place out, I highly recommend the Jerk Chicken Egg Rolls. They're made to perfection! I rented out their reasonable and very very clean space for an baby shower. They allowed me to rearrange their table and chairs to my liking. I just ordered the 2 meat 2 side plate on Postmates and it was amazing! I got the dark jerk chicken and dark fried chicken and both were juicy and flavorful. I also got the candid yams and Mac and cheese and, again, both were amazing. To make things even better I also got a side of plantains which, you can never go wrong with plantains. Overall an amazing meal. I can only imagine how much better it would be if I were to dine in! Also very well priced! I haven't found any good jerk chicken or shrimp in Chicago and unfortunately I am still looking. This place is a disappointment to me we had the chicken dinner and the shrimp Alfredo. Chicken didn't have any flavor without the sauce and that is disappointing. The Alfredo was tasteless. Now my real anger comes from the delivery person George he left my in the lobby of the post office and and sent me a text saying it was outside my front door. So happy to have this amazing new restaurant nearby!! there's plenty of seating inside to eat there. I ordered the veggie burrito and the stir-fry filling was made fresh to order. The burrito was huge, so easily became 2-3 servings for me (although it was extremely stuffed/falling apart and therefore difficult to eat with my hands but that's why I usually avoid burritos in general). Idk what it was, but the brown sauce that came in cups was delicious!! I really appreciate they have a whole section of the menu for "Jerkitarian" or vegetarian items. I'm dying to try the chicken but I try to eat a more plant-based diet a lot of the time, so I'm glad they placed a special focus on it. Continuing on sustainability theme, I appreciate they had reusable cups for water in store instead of single-use items. I hope they try to limit their single-use disposable items.
