There's just something special about a place that is distinctly local in a city filled with fast food and chain restaurants. Jerry's might not be the best breakfast experience I've had in Simi, but it's surely one I don't mind visiting again and again. Parking: I don't know if parking is difficult anywhere in Simi, to be honest. Jerry's has a small parking lot that's shared with several other businesses, but finding a spot shouldn't be an issue. The side street nearby should have plenty of extra options. Service: I've never had an issue here. Everyone is friendly and boasts huge, memorable personalities. I feel as if I always leave with some memory of the conversations that go on amongst the employees or with other customers. And best of all, I've never had an empty glass. Food: In all honesty, nothing incredible. But in saying that, I'll admit I've enjoyed every meal I've had here. Whether that is simply eggs & sausage or a stuffed omelette, I always leave full and satisfied. So would I tell you that you need to come here over other options? No. But would I strongly recommend you coming here to at least experience Jerry's for yourself? Most definitely. read more

Upon arrival, you're not sure if you have the right place, if the owners would even know how to serve a decent American breakfast or not, or if the unintentional spelling "Jerry Coffee Shop" on the sign is ironic. But do NOT judge a book by its cover. The owners are so friendly and always smiling. They truly love what they do. The atmosphere is 70's diner style, with tons of pictures on the walls of regulars. And the prices! Oh wow! Who knew you could still get a full meal for $5? Make sure you check out the specials on the walls, too. Occasionally, you'll find a diamond in the rough. But best is the food. As simple as eggs, bacon, and hash browns are, it's so delicious! I really don't know why, but each time I go, I get so excited to eat there. This is my go-to when it comes to breakfast in Simi Valley (even before that other always busy place on Sycamore and Cochran). We used to come here as a family every first day of school, and I hope to hold the same tradition with my kids one day. LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS PLACE!! You drive to a whole in a wall where roosters and chickens roam freely outside.. As you enter it looks like the old west with tons of family pictures! Jerry and his staff are always happy to greet you! When dining in they will never let your cup of coffee go half empty. The food here is good old fashioned home style cooking and the prices cant be beat! Chivalry is well alive when ordering to go as they will walk you to your car, open your door and make sure to send you on your way safe!! A great place to have breakfast. This place reminds me of those old school dinner looking places in the movies where truckers and locals will stop and have breakfast. Jerrys is a classic eatery in Simi Valley, they offer a fantastic breakfast but they are best known for their mind blowing pancakes. I can eat stacks and stacks of pancakes from this place, so if you are a first timer do pancakes first and then get something else from their menu. Before I go too far, I do want to say that the man who waited on us, who I believe was the owner, was very nice, even apologetic. That said, I must tell the truth about my experience. A few days ago, as my husband and I began a few days' road trip, I used Yelp to find a breakfast place in Simi Valley, since our first destination was there. Jerry's Coffee Shop seemed to be the best the area had to offer, so we set the navigation for the address and drove there, only to find what appeared to be a shack attached to an lawn-mower shop. Inside, the place looked like a greasy spoon. If this is a "dive" to love, as one reviewer has said, I'll pass on it in the future. The food wasn't any better than a Denny's. I ordered my two eggs over medium; they came over easy, with the whites not cooked through. The hash browns and sausage links were so-so, just as I'd expect at a Denny's but not at a four-star-rated breakfast joint. Mostly, though, this place was too poorly maintained to deserve anything more than two stars. There was dirty carpet throughout the restaurant, a very used toilet-bowl brush and a scouring pad in plain view in the tiny restroom, a very worn-out interior (not worn in a charming way), and an almost falling-apart exterior (also not charming). The many "specials" in much-used plastic sheet holders plastered all over the walls and kitchen equipment were off-putting too. For the sake of the nice owner, I hope he repairs the exterior, replaces the carpet with a more sanitary commercial vinyl floor, and cleans and neatens the interior (and maybe updates his printed menu to include all the items on the walls). This could be a charming breakfast "dive" instead of a revolting one. Teaching the cooks the difference between eggs over easy and eggs over medium (and perhaps a few other techniques) might help as well. read more

I've been to Jerry's several times now and every time I get the same friendly service. From the outside, it might not seem like much but the food and service is awesome and thats all that matters. The wait staff is so attentive and if you're a regular, they know your usual. The food is great. I love their french toast and sometimes with a side of bacon and fruit. They never leave your coffee cup less than half full...they come by and refill your coffee without you calling them. Overall, great food at very reasonable prices. Jerry's is the place to go if you want a great hearty home-style breakfast and dont feel like cooking breakfast at home. read more

Although the food is a great price, while looking at our bill, trying to figure out how two $5.99 meals ended up being almost $20, we realized they charge $2.75 FOR COFFEE! I couldn't believe it. Just because of that, I will definitely think twice about going there. Again, not because of the food, because that's great, but, I'm sorry, that is greedy. Haven't experienced a diner that sells beer, and one can buy a beer here for less than $2. Unreal. I've been looking at the low star reviews. One woman complained that she ordered food for take-away, and when she got home she saw that they only included one fork for multiple orders and no salt. Um, do you not have utensils or salt at your home? The owners came here from Taiwan in the early 1980s. They bought the place for a lot of money at the time, and have been working in it everyday since as a couple. My food was delicious, as was my friend's. The service was unbelievably quick and homely. Yes, this place has zero curb appeal but in a town full of chain restaurants, it's refreshing and authentic. The owners are nice and engage their customers. I had an omlette that was light and perfectly cooked and not greasy at all. The homemade salsa was a nice addition. The coffe was $2.75 (see previous comments by other reviewers) but they refilled my mug 3 times and offered me a giant to go cup so I could take more with me. If you convert the amount of coffee I drank into Starbucks dollars, it was worth about $20 so I was happy to pay. It's Brothers coffee and is pretty good. The missing star is because the omlette didn't have enough cheese and the hood over the cooking area could use a professional cleaning. read more

I love this place ~!!!! I haven't been in simi for quite some time but when I was there today I did not hesitate when choosing a place to eat. Oh Jerry's my favorite mom and pops diner in the entire world !!! I was about to order my favorite classic #2 with bacon and the whole nine yards when I noticed they had a couple of new items on the menu. I asked the owner Jerry how his new Roast Beef burrito was, the owner went on explaining how he marinates and cooks the roast beef himself. So I figure why not and gave it a shot, oh man it was DELICIOUS!!! The roast beef had a lot of flavor and melted perfectly with the eggs and cheese inside. There was a sauce in there I couldn't figure out, so I asked Jerry and he simply replied it was Jerry's secret sauce for that burrito. Whatever it was it worked haha. Jerry's was a very warm California welcome after a Long Beach trip thru Venice Beach up into Simi Valley. Very great plate combos and prices (check the wall) I had a pancake sandwich which wasn't a sandwich atall as my compadres worried it might be. My over easy eggs and extra crispy bacon wouldn't have faired too well crushed and dripping between pancakes drenched in maple syrup. They were both very yummy. If going just go to the bathroom before hand and I reccomend not getting bacon. Also I was confused by the 4 $ cakes.
