I ordered a pair of skates online and had to return them due to the fit not being right. They don't provide a return label, so I was out $36.00 to return the skates. They processed the refund, but didn't include the $13.99 I paid for shipping when I ordered in the first place! I'm out $49.99 and have nothing to show for it! Bought lace tightener and decided to return. It was bought week ago. Store refused due to opened package. Be careful to buy something in the store, if it won't fit or you decide to return - they will refuse. My lace tightener was 5$, not a big deal, I'll keep it. My husband was at your store in Schaumburg this morning (11/19; 12pm) and had a not so pleasant experience. He came in to look at new skates as the ones he has are too big. He explained this to the salesperson and that I was there to check on sizing and style and would return after the holidays as he would like them for Christmas. He proceeded to measure his foot and said he was a size 8 and that was it. He asked about different styles which he said would mean my husband would need to try some on, when my husband asked to do that he snickered and said "well you're not buying today...". He gave my husband one pair to try on which were considerably more expensive than he had said he wanted to spend. He helped him put them on and then left to help another customer and never came back to check on him. My husband took them off and left with a very sour taste for this store. The selection at your store is great and he was going to come back and purchase but not anymore. read more

Went in to buy some tape and switch out the blades in my shafts. When I asked the employee there if they could switch out the blades, there was a long pause followed by: "yeah, I guess." I didn't look at my sticks until I got to the park. He put the blade in so the words on the shaft were upside down. The employee here with glasses seems annoyed to do anything. This is a very quick and basic thing any pro-shop will do for you without the poor attitude this guy has. read more

I was in dire need of some tape for my twig. When I pulled up to Jerry's where I was greeted with a warm welcome by the employees. I looked at their tape selection and picked out a few that I liked. I then headed to checkout when one of the employees asked if that's all. I then remembered I had my skates in my car that needed sharpening so I asked for the employees to sharpen them which they happily did for me. While waiting for the sharpening to be done I browsed around the store and another employee asked if I was looking for anything specific I said my skates are a bit old so I could use some new ones. They showed me some skates (which they must sell a lot of because they were all referred to as best sellers) and they expertly helped me pick out $1000 skates which was way over my budget but he was just such a great salesmen how could I not. And that's the story of how some great employees turned a $20 purchase into a $1156 one. I'm not close to this locations but man what a store will go back! read more

I'm from the west coast and had never heard of Jerry's Hockey. Glad I have them a try. I ordered online, got my son's goalie leg pads, blocker, and catcher a day early, and it was packed well. They were the only place I could still find a full G5 setup all in black. Everything came in great shape, the prices were the same or lower than some other places, l and I would definitely buy from them again. read more

I have been going to Jerry's hockey mostly in Schaumburg for the past several years now. Every time I go into the shop the staff is friendly and very knowledgeable on the different products. I recently had an issue with manufacturer defect on a product that I purchased at Jerry's, and Jerry's did not hesitate to offer me a brand new version of the product and take care of the warranty with the manufacturer. Let me first start out this review with a little background. I grew up playing hockey. I learned to skate before I learned to walk, and played all the way through college. I took a good bit of time off to kick-start my professional career in sales, but have now decided to get back into playing the game I love. Needing new gear, and living in the western burbs gave me a couple options. I first tried Total Hockey, where the salesman who appeared to be knowledgeable had no respect for my budget and came off way too salesy. I myself am in sales, so I know how I want to be treated, and this was not even close. So I gave a call over to Jerry's where I spoke to Devin. He asked me to come in and told me he would help me out, and he definitely did. Devin was respectful, knowledgeable, and shot me straight when it came to product recommendations. He listened to me when I told him what I needed and thought I wanted, gave me his honest feedback and made me comfortable with my decisions. I walked out with new skates, pants, elbow pads, and a long lasting impression of a positive experience. If you're trying to get back into the game, go see Devin and the guys at Jerry's. We did return on a much slower day. He was able to use the gift card (it took a long time at the register for some reason). He got new skates and it all worked out OK. The skate sharpening that came with the skates was incredible. The major drawback was that everything was very slow. It is far away from where we live so we probably won't be going back but if it was 5 miles away we would go back again when it isn't busy. read more

Or are items that have been markets up only to be presented at a percentage discount (to no real savings to you the customer). Or my favorite sending out sale flyers with items listed at huge savings when reality they only have 1 or 2 of these items. A perfect example of this is there countdown to Christmas or 12 days of Christmas sales often time these advertised items don't exist in the store. Poor Morals Jerrys sells a list of equipment both for hockey as well as figure skating online under the name TraderJay. These are items that jerry's has no approval to be selling online. One great example of this is the fact that nothing TraderJay (who is the owners son) sells online is actually on the jerry's website. No store appeal Have you ever been in a Jerry's that doesn't smell like a foot? Or look like all the furniture came from your local garage sale? Because I haven't. Best of all is the WAREHOUSE locations.... Honestly the one in Shamburg isn't even zoned for retail.... Not to mention the inside of the building has a mouse issue as well as a flood issue. Look again inside your purchase next time you leave the store you might just find a little unwanted surprise. Skate sharpening Here is a great idea, let's get our skates sharpened on a grinder that cost less than my brand new 2016 hockey skates that I bought..... or how about getting my new "investments" as they call them sharpened on a Cag One Grinder that is in fact made by a bicycle company and does nothing for any kind of a "Rocker" other than force you to buy new blades sooner. But in the eyes of Jerry's this just another day at the shop. Honestly visit your local Jerry's you will see a CAG One and a Fleming Gray. Buyer Beware! Ordered over $500 of equipment online with Jerry's. Called the customer service number three times to inquire about the status of my order and was forwarded to voice mail. My calls were never returned. Utilized the customer service e-mail three times, messages never returned, my order was never received. The lack of customer service and inability of Jerry's to deliver the order I was charged for is unacceptable. I cannot recommend this company. Take your business elsewhere, there are plenty of other reputable equipment dealers that will happily service your needs. read more

This is probably the best, most well stocked hockey shop in the Chicago land area. For the most part the staff is very professional and well informed. I came here while visiting family (came from VA Beach) in search of new skates. The staff was incredibly knowledgable and helpful. The location I went to did not have the skates I needed, so one of the staff even drove to and picked up my skates from another location. They were patient, honest, knowledgeable, helpful, and did not at any point try to over-sell. I cannot recommend these guys enough. I'd rather support a local hockey shop than a national chain especially when they are willing to price match. I can't recommend this place enough. read more

Jerry's is a great locally owned business. Having made the mistake of purchasing poorly fitting skates online I know firsthand that it's better to purchase your skates locally and have them fitted by someone that knows the art and science of proper fit. It is "cheaper" to buy online but often doing so becomes a fool's bargain because invariably you wind up with a poor fitting skate that hurts your feet and hinders your skating. There is so much more to achieving a good fit than most people know! It doesn't matter if you have wide feet, narrow feet, flat feed, or high arches-Jerry's will find the right skate for you and can even customize them for you individual needs (like adding heel lifts, customized sharpening, etc., etc.) read more
