We came here during peak lunchtime, so it was pretty busy. The girl upfront told us it could be 15 to 20 minutes, cause they were slammed, no less than 10 sandwiches on the board ready to be prepped. We were patient, understood the situation, and when it was our time to order, we were treated very nicely. We ordered the number eight the number seven and a kids meal, turkey, and provolone, all the sandwiches were made to our specification and we enjoyed a nice lunch. Also important to note, there were only two girls running the entire operation so they were multitasking, refilling, lettuce, and tomato, prepping the area for the next sandwich, making sure it was clean before before making it, so in essence, doing it right, shortstaffed. Today's experience at Jersey Mikes Big Bear Lake, CA, confirmed that I will never step foot in that particular store again. Not only was my partner and I treated with distain from the server after asking for an addition to our sandwich but her lack of respect went further. Her attitude was worthy of being terminated. The store was absolutely filthy. All tables weren't wiped down. One table had a yellow puddle beneath looking like urine. One employee exiting looked at the mentioned spill and just kept walking. Workers were too busy chatting or talking on their phones to do a cleanup. The drinks in the soda fountain were more seltzer water than flavor. read more

This location has really gone downhill. We frequent Big Bear and love to just grab a sandwich when we go out on the lake or something. One of the last times they straight up wouldn't let us pick our bread. They said we have two kinds right now and you get what you get it's too busy. It was busy but people will wait for an order they actually want. The time after that I ordered one bread and got a separate top bread from the bottom. The quality is also not great for some reason. It never tastes fresh like other locations. The inside of the store is also constantly dirty. I understand it's a tourist town and can get busy & when I was there previous times it's been good but lately it's been awful. I likely won't go back. JM is not cheap so I don't want to waste money on bad quality. read more

I went on Monday and their staff does a great job. for anyone complaining about the wait time especially the people who I saw, remember it's not these young adults working fault that they are understaffed. I appreciate that there's a Jersey Mike's that we can go to for a quick pick up before headed to the slopes. We tend to drop off all the boys then come back to get some lunch here to bring back. It's a clean spot and the people that work there were quick and efficient. The employees were rude when I took my son's sandwich back because it was made incorrectly. A male employee said it wasn't his problem. They acted like I was lying and reprinted my receipt to try and prove me wrong. The male with braces literally argued with me. Extremely rude and unprofessional. On other occasions I've had hair in my food. Disgusting. This place is usually filthy. Don't recommend. Morgan was incredibly helpful and kind, walking us through all the vegan choices and customizing everything perfectly. They totally eased our stress and made us feel so welcome. I came here to buy dinner for a camping trip. The sandwiches were delicious and perfect. The bathroom was smelly but it's a bathroom so it doesn't really matter. The works were nice. I've been coming to Big Bear for years and am now a full-time resident for the past five years. I used to eat at Jersey Mike's about once a week. The staff is friendly, and the food is well prepared. However, when I've ordered online, a majority of my last seven or eight orders were incorrect. They removed what I asked be deleted and added what I requested be added to their order checklist, but seldom read or follow my "Comments." Really, do I need to check my to go bag each time before I leave? I don't think so! They don't pay attention to details. They might as well be considered a fast food establishment, so they don't need to worry about variation of incoming orders. read more

Look, this is a sandwich shop chain. If you're expecting something ground breaking or a cool, fresh idea, keep looking. Jersey Mike's is my favorite chain spot to grab a sandwich. The fresh sliced meat blows Subway out of the water and the variety is better than anything the other chains have to offer as well. This location is good if you're near the edge of town but traffic can be bad since it's a main point of entry/exit to the lake and down the mountain. I've eaten here several times and always get the same level of customer service I get at other locations. The food is fresh and good. They don't always have a great selection of chips or beverages from the fridge but I assume that has to do with their somewhat isolated location. Probably not as easy to restock when your 60-90 minutes from the nearest city. Other than traffic in the area and sometimes lacking some of the extras, I recommend this location (and any Jersey Mike's). read more

I went to this location last week with my family on the way home from a little vacation. The girls in there were awesome, pointed out the free cookies for my little ones, made all of our sandwiches at once (we are a family of 5) all while having a great conversation. Look it's not a game breaking sandwich manufacture, but it does produce higher than average results when it comes to the sandwich game. Recently stop by this location to see if they honored the practice of providing the avocado smash in replacement of cheese (veganized). Some of the franchise owners don't play by the unwritten law of this procedure, but I'm pleased to announce this location follows this honorary practice. This is the highlight on this location. Onto the service aspect of this visit. When I arrived there was no customers, but for obvious reasons you could see they were slammed with a large over the phone or via internet order. They did not hesitate to take my order and jump right into the assembly of my sandwich. I was out the door under 5 minutes.
