We came here during peak lunchtime, so it was pretty busy. The girl upfront told us it could be 15 to 20 minutes, cause they were slammed, no less than 10 sandwiches on the board ready to be prepped. We were patient, understood the situation, and when it was our time to order, we were treated very nicely. We ordered the number eight the number seven and a kids meal, turkey, and provolone, all the sandwiches were made to our specification and we enjoyed a nice lunch. Also important to note, there were only two girls running the entire operation so they were multitasking, refilling, lettuce, and tomato, prepping the area for the next sandwich, making sure it was clean before before making it, so in essence, doing it right, shortstaffed. We placed an online pickup order, expected wait was about 15 minutes. When we arrived at the building, staff was joking around and hadn't even begun our order. The receipt was on the table behind them and they located it quickly, but had made no move to begin. We had to wait for our order to be made, and they would periodically disappear to the back of the store for no reason. As a worker in a restaurant that offers pick up options, this was incredibly unprofessional. Orders should be made prior to arrival for pickup options. Today's experience at Jersey Mikes Big Bear Lake, CA, confirmed that I will never step foot in that particular store again. Not only was my partner and I treated with distain from the server after asking for an addition to our sandwich but her lack of respect went further. Her attitude was worthy of being terminated. The store was absolutely filthy. All tables weren't wiped down. One table had a yellow puddle beneath looking like urine. One employee exiting looked at the mentioned spill and just kept walking. This location has really gone downhill. We frequent Big Bear and love to just grab a sandwich when we go out on the lake or something. One of the last times they straight up wouldn't let us pick our bread. They said we have two kinds right now and you get what you get it's too busy. It was busy but people will wait for an order they actually want. The time after that I ordered one bread and got a separate top bread from the bottom. The quality is also not great for some reason. It never tastes fresh like other locations. The inside of the store is also constantly dirty. I understand it's a tourist town and can get busy & when I was there previous times it's been good but lately it's been awful. I likely won't go back. JM is not cheap so I don't want to waste money on bad quality. read more

I went on Monday and their staff does a great job. for anyone complaining about the wait time especially the people who I saw, remember it's not these young adults working fault that they are understaffed. I appreciate that there's a Jersey Mike's that we can go to for a quick pick up before headed to the slopes. We tend to drop off all the boys then come back to get some lunch here to bring back. I came here to buy dinner for a camping trip. The sandwiches were delicious and perfect. The bathroom was smelly but it's a bathroom so it doesn't really matter. The works were nice. If I could leave 0 stars I would. Matter fact this places deserves negative 5 stars after the interaction I had today. From the moment I walked in the building I could feel the negative energy. The lady taking orders had the ugliest attitude ever. She was so impatient and snotty. A family of 6 was trying to order and before they could speak she would interrupt and say "anything else" she didn't even give the chance to finish ordering. Look, this is a sandwich shop chain. If you're expecting something ground breaking or a cool, fresh idea, keep looking. Jersey Mike's is my favorite chain spot to grab a sandwich. The fresh sliced meat blows Subway out of the water and the variety is better than anything the other chains have to offer as well. This location is good if you're near the edge of town but traffic can be bad since it's a main point of entry/exit to the lake and down the mountain. I've eaten here several times and always get the same level of customer service I get at other locations. The food is fresh and good. They don't always have a great selection of chips or beverages from the fridge but I assume that has to do with their somewhat isolated location. Probably not as easy to restock when your 60-90 minutes from the nearest city. Other than traffic in the area and sometimes lacking some of the extras, I recommend this location (and any Jersey Mike's). read more

I've been coming to Big Bear for years and am now a full-time resident for the past five years. I used to eat at Jersey Mike's about once a week. The staff is friendly, and the food is well prepared. However, when I've ordered online, a majority of my last seven or eight orders were incorrect. They removed what I asked be deleted and added what I requested be added to their order checklist, but seldom read or follow my "Comments." Really, do I need to check my to go bag each time before I leave? I don't think so! They don't pay attention to details.
