I absolutely love this Jersey Mike's!! The people that work there are friendly and are great at what they do. I have been to a few other Jersey Mike's, and they are good but not as good as this one. They have taken extra steps to keep everyone safe during this pandemic and I appreciate that. The only thing that I would like to add is that I wish ALL Jersey Mike's employees wore masks while preparing the sandwiches. Took one hour to get 2 mini, plain turkey subs last Sunday. Line order and 45 minutes standing in one spot waiting. I used to get a more complicated order of 3 subs, and sometimes they even made them in time. But the error rate on those was 100%, so I eventually whittled it down to just 2 plain turkey subs. Once, they gave me someone else's order. Which was a nice discovery when I got home, and my 5-member family was eager to eat. But no, another 45-minute round trip to get the right order. But at least they gave me 2 free cookies!!! Wow!!! Such generosity in a $35 order and over an hour wasted. The last time, after standing there for 45 minutes (after ordering online) watching them perform for a room full of waiting people, it's apparent that this joint is incredibly mismanaged. I wouldn't trust these kids for a slice of bread. Sucks, because when they have their act together, the sandwiches are tasty. But it's a dice roll... This place has got to clean up their staff! It's always a hit or miss with quality of sandwiches, though typically a miss! The customer service is non existent. Everyone looks beyond miserable and is super unwelcoming. Luckily, I knew my order but the woman behind me got a mouthful from Angel who was working the meat slicer. This older woman forgot to mention that she wanted to swap out her cheese to provolone cheese. Angel got angry and in an extremely rude/aggressive tone of voice said "You need to say that in advance because I'm not a mind reader!" She told him to "please not get mad over cheese. I never said or expected you to be a mind reader" to where he then said "don't you yell at me!" (She wasn't yelling at all.) She said "excuse me, I'm a paying customer and I wasn't yelling! And I have the right to swap out my cheese. How dare you treat customers like this! I should call corporate!" To where he then replied "Next time know your order. I'm human and it's called consumer responsibility! And when you call corporate tell them my name is Angel!" So rude!! The poor old lady just took the aggression and was clearly shaken up because of the poor treatment. I'll never come back to this unsanitary, over priced location. The sandwich I had was excellent, wish I could say the same about the service. I got some attitude from the guy taking my order for not knowing what kind of bread I wanted (sorry, this was my 1st time at a Jersey Mike...there was information overload on the menu board, so the bread choices were not readily apparent to me). Also, they ran out of lids for cups at the self-serve soda fountain. I informed another staff member of this (from this interaction, I got the feeling the guy would rather focus on making sandwiches than to be bothered with such issues), and my request was passed on to another staff member to resolve . But instead of replenishing all the lids, I was just given one lid for my soda, which didn't make sense because that meant the customers behind me at the soda fountain would each be asking for lids too. You get paid extra on holidays (I know it's not enough still and I'm sorry) BUT we didn't complain or say anything when you forgot to make one of the sandwiches, yet you still felt you had to smack the sandwiches down on the counter harder than you should've, and sighed louder than you should've. I continue to order in hopes that it'll be better than the last time because I've loved Jersey mikes for years. Like 8 years. This location is skimpy on product and will give soggy toppings. I ALWAYS order extra cheese and it's like paper thin every time. Not to mention I don't understand their online order pickup procedure because they don't put it in the pickup section and if I stand off to the side (out of the in-store order line) I won't get acknowledged. I've considered I may need some counseling due to my Yelp addiction. I soon realized the affect this site has over me. The other day, I was ravenously hungry, but didn't want to go to my usual lunch spots, just because I wanted to write a new review. I'm sure most of you have come across this issue, correct?? I thought so. I Yelped on one place, then another...but nothing sounded pleasing. I drove into a familiar parking lot thinking I wanted sushi, but decided a sub might be a safer option. Pros: Deli meats and cheeses are freshly sliced, like a real butcher shop Friendly, helpful, very young staff Decent variety of subs If you're hungry, their Giant size is about 16 inches Cons: Their "mini" is around 7 inches (i know.....why am I complaining about length...haha), but it's a bit too much food and I wanted the option of a smaller sub. Very limited ingredients, less than Subway. They're a little pricier than Subway, about a dollar more...But fresher ingredients. I prefer Subway's bread, more choices and chewier Jersey Mike's is a nice chain with fresh meat and cheese, but I prefer Subway due to more selective choices and cost. read more

I have it 2 stars because I really do like their sandwiches. The concern I have is that the person who was preparing my sandwiches was wearing gloves, yet stopped, went to assist the cashier and proceeded to touch the cashier screen, drawer, money and a pen then come and come continue to make my sandwich. It was disguising how much cross contamination and lack of hygiene control was displayed, COVID or no COVID. I ended up tossing my sandwich and not even eating it. I wish I said something in person but I am a non confrontational person and the store was busy with other patrons. I hope management will have a serious discussion with their employees. read more

Don't come here at night! In the past couple of weeks I've been once @ 835pm and tonight @ 825pm. Same 2 guys working just so happens to be the only 2 times that the JERSEY MIKES sign was off which of course would lead you to believe the store is closed. But no they are in there....1 guy is mute and cleaning up as if they are closed and he's just finishing up. The other guy will greet you with an attitude and tell you why they are not going to serve you. The first time it was "we're understaffed". Smh there's only me and 1 other customer in the store? Or did I just avoid the rush of 20 people that were craving lunch for dinner that they had to turn away? Lol I go at that time regularly and it's always slow. Anyways, he said he'd make me a cold sandwich, and they already cleaned the grill but if I want he will still make me the Philly cheese sandwich which is what I came for. So I give this location another try. I order the same #17 philly. As I'm waiting, the two young males thought they already gave me my sandwich. Turns out they gave it to a customer before me. 2 for 2. Maybe they were distracted, but the store was empty. I thanked them for catching it. When I got home, they made me a #43 chipotle philly. My nephew claims this place has the best Philly Sub... I didn't acknowledge his claims nor did I agree or disagree... all I told him way, I'll have to visit and see if the claim is true or not. I have never heard of Jersey Mike's until my nephew mentioned it and since he proclaimed they had the best Philly Cheese steak, I decided I needed to try it and compare the taste with the four places I visited in Philly. I walked in, two guys were working, it wasn't busy but within few seconds three other folks came in... I ordered the Philly Sub, funny how one guy was already making it, but maybe he read my mind... I got the giant on a white bread... the giant will be equivalent to foot long... with tax, its $13, very expensive sub. Overall the the meat was tender and the grilled peppers were nice touch... they used provolone cheese (in Philly they use Cheese Whiz), but they do offer provolone as an option... compared to the originals in Philly, it's not in the same footing, but for those that's not able to go to Philly to get it, swing on by Jersey Mike's... it's not the original, but it'll do... but go to Philly and try it and once you tried it, you'll never stop comparing... read more

My family celebrated my mother's 77th birthday today at her favorite park in Altadena. We could have ordered food from any other restaurant: Gus's in South Pasadena or Jake's in Monrovia, like I wanted to for a Saturday picnic; but she requested sandwiches from Jersey Mike's. The family acquiesced to please our beyond wonderful matriarch. I am the youngest daughter and took my youngest daughter with me to get the sandwiches. From the moment we walked into the establishment, we were made to feel very uncomfortable. I tried to shake that off and blame it on it being there for the first time; but the service that followed was cold and stunk of racism. The first person that handled the meat, cheese and bread was doing a slightly better job of trying to be cordial. The second associate, who was tasked with putting the rest of the sandwiches together, seemed to be either disgusted or annoyed with having to assist us. Whether he can't stand his job or he can't stand assisting Black customers or female customers, the passive aggressive, unfriendly, and unwelcoming manner with which he handled our order was our lasting memory that overshadowed our perfect celebration of a very special occasion. I, personally, will NEVER go back to Jersey Mike's - especially THAT location in La Canada, Ca. I had to write this review, because there is absolutely no excuse for that caliber of customer service, and no one should ever have to feel the way I feel and the way my daughter felt when patronizing a local business. Ordered 6 sandwiches online specifically asked for one of the Philly sandwich to come with ham and stated no cheese. Guess what? I got a Philly cheese with am cheese and no ham but the recipe a says add ham and they didn't add it saying that they don't put that on the sandwich. I'm a chef and worked in many restaurants both low and high end restaurants. If the customer asks for something I bend over backwards to make sure I accommodate them. This great sandwich shop had a fundraiser recently and we tried our first sandwiches. We ate the Italian and the Turkey Provolone subs with everything. Staff are great and helpful. Service is quick via the line and the turnover his really high so you get to sit down easily. Ingredients were fresh and drinks were well carbonated. Family hang out, great spot to stop by. We made it back again today and ate the same sandwiches after the Rose Bowl Flea Market, to cool off. Very fun and although we don't get sub sandwiches frequently, this is a favorite spot. read more

I've stopped going to this location as they now do a horrible job making the sandwiches. It seems that all the people that were there doing a great job are now gone and replaced with employees that don't want to work. Also, whenever you use a credit card or ATM card, they ask you for a tip charged right away. I would tip them, but don't like this function. Personally, I think they shouldn't get a tip until after I've eaten my meal. I just went to the Jersey Mike's in Glendale and they made the sandwiches the way the La Canada store use to serve them.
