Good food, and customer service. Never any problems so many options to choose from. Currently cutting back on bread so I got mine without.

I ate at the food chain on 12/4/23. Ordered a meal there and found a foreign object in my cookie. coughed up a big piece after I realized it wasn't 'cookie" but swallowed smaller pieces that I thought were pieces of chocolate. Was left with a bad stomach ache, constipated, and nauseous. Had to go to urgent care to get looked at. Very disillusioned. I actually took some photos.

There is a Langers parking lot that's not too far away diagonal from the restaurant. It is a 1.5 hour parking with validation. We went on a weekdays so the lines weren't that long. I can't say the same for weekends and paying some money to park may be inevitable. Now the food. I was able to try the famous hot corned beef sandwich and I was able to snag some hot pastrami sandwich from my sister. They both had a looot of sauerkraut on the sandwich which gave it a nice acidity and freshness to the dish, but I wish the ratio was a little better with veggies to meat. I was expecting more meat in the sandwich. The meat was delicious though. Super tender, flavorful, and smoky. The sauce on the side was a nice touch. Also got the chili cheese fries and those are always good. Overall, I don't know if I will drive all the way to LA just for this. I am glad I did get to try this place out. Would like to try other things on the menu if I'm around the area.

We had a nice server, Daniel, who was very attentive and helpful. My sister ordered cheese blintzes and they were served cold in the middle. Daniel took them back and when they reappeared at the table they were hot enough but not piping hot. Sister said they were very good. But two not very large blintzes for about $16, is kind of high. Friend had a Rueben which she said was delish. She also ordered a container of matzah ball soup and the matzoh ball was huge! I ordered a hot corned beef on rye and it was indeed very good. Large enough that half was enough for dinner and the other half was another meal on the next day. I also ordered onion rings. Very good! My dining companions enjoyed some of them too and there were still a few left to take home with my sandwich! I had a few of my friend's steak fries, they were good also. The prices are high here. Guess you have to go with the flow in a world-famous place! There is a small bakery counter near the front door. We bought two danishes to take home. OMG, the chocolate and almond danish was absolutely a 6 on a scale 0f 1-5! Also got a bear claw and it's terrific too. But the other was great. Notice I said was; my sister and I shared it. Didn't tale too long for us to decimate it! This was an experience for sure. If ever I get to LA again, I will be sure to get a chocolate and almond danish!

The matzo ball soup was fine, not super flavorful and didn't have enough salt for me personally (the saltine crackers did help though). The sandwich was not bad at all, good sauerkraut tang and the pastrami was well seasoned. The rye bread also have a crunch. I think the main issue I had was just mainly the price: for around 25 bucks for the sandwich I would have expected a larger portion but it wasn't too big. I haven't been to many other Jewish deli spots before and I know Katz is more expensive than here but the sandwich I had when I visited Katz was easily twice as large . Overall, i did think the sandwich was serviceable here it wasn't my favorite considering the price.

Luckily I had my fan to help cool off my soup. I did add a little salt and pepper. Other than that it was total comfort. $15 We shared a club sandwich and got French fries instead. All the condiments, Russian dressing, ranch come in prepackaged little containers. Ranch tasted fresh and homemade. I used a little of the Russian dressing. Is that a Brent's thing? $22 + $3 for French fries. I wanted a little sweet and got the blueberry cheesecake. That was the best cheesecake ever. Actual blueberries inside the cheesecake. So creamy and delicious. $11 Pickles are always my favorite. I got bagel chips with my matzo ball soup. I ordered corned beef and cabbage for my 99 year old mom. She said she didn't like the cabbage, no taste. She's 99 ‍ It's been a while since I was there. It feels the same. Booths and tables. Same decor. Our server Laura was super sweet and patient. Helpful in our decision making. Ricardo cracked me up because he brought a small soup container for my friend's cabbage soup. She was a little perturbed it was too small. Ricardo insisted it would fit and it did PERFECTLY.

I love the exterior look of the building with their iconic sign. When you step inside it feels like being transported to a simpler time. They have a couple fun phone booths against a side wall and an analog Photo Booth that --depending on the time of year-- will print strips that have the words "Go Dodgers" on it. Because Philippe's is also known to be a place that Dodgers fans can congregate. The line gets quite long, but the staff does their best to get people through as quickly as they can. There is plenty of seating that can be found on the ground floor, as well as upstairs. Although it has been disputed if they are indeed the originators of the French Dip, I must say that have not had a French Dip that has even come close to being as good as the one I had here. And I am a HUGE French Dip fan. You would think that dunking the roll in the au jus would make it just taste soggy, but instead the bread holds up and the au jus packs it with great flavor. Last thing--order it with the pickled egg! Thank me later.

I've been vegetarian for most of that time, but that never stops me from ordering my go‑to combo: a side of potato salad, a French roll cut in half, a quartered pickle, and a lemonade. Simple, nostalgic, and perfect. The salads are great too. When my husband is really hungry, he goes for both the lamb and beef dips; on lighter days, he alternates between the two. He swears by the spicy mustard and takes every single bite with it. Service is always pleasant, and the lines move quickly. If you're visiting the area, I highly recommend making a stop here. My biggest piece of advice is to go early because it gets incredibly busy by lunchtime--and for good reason! Keep in mind they are closed on Monday and Tuesday. While you can order online, I'll always choose to go inside so I can browse everything they have to offer. Their selection of fresh pasta salads is fantastic, and the desserts are always tempting. Whether you're craving lasagna, spaghetti and meatballs, a chicken Parmesan sandwich, or one of their many other Italian specialties, you really can't go wrong. Be sure to check out the wine section in the back left of the market. It's extensive and absolutely incredible! This is the kind of place that keeps people coming back year after year, and it's easy to see why. Being Italian American and growing up with an Italian mother who loved feeding everyone, this was one of our favorite places to visit together. Those memories make every trip here even more special. My personal favorite is the Godmother sandwich--hands down one of the best you'll ever have. It's packed with flavor, made with quality ingredients, and it's the sandwich I find myself craving every time I come back. One of the things I love most about this place is the atmosphere. It has an energy that immediately makes you think of family. Everyone is genuinely kind, welcoming, and happy to help, making you feel right at home the moment you walk through the door. It has that warm, old-school Italian family vibe that's becoming harder and harder to find, and it's a big part of what makes this place so special.
