This local eatery in Monrovia is a part of the large Huntington plaza off of Mayflower, with a McDonalds and a pharmacy also located there. The shop itself is your standard sub sandwich shop, with a few tables & plenty of parking outside. The food is all fresh and delicious and the staff are all very helpful and nice, but I am taking off a star purely based on prices. What would be a veggie "footlong" (called regular) is around $7! The subs have less ingredients than Subway when it comes to the veggie sandwich specifically. What I like about JMS over Subway is that they freshly shave your meat with a deli slicer! What I liked about this place was that I didn't feel cheated on the meat. It was a nice sized sandwich, the bread was soft & tasty, and the bacon was crisp and flavorful. I also liked that they sliced the meat right there immediately before it goes on the sandwich. I ordered the club supreme, which is roast beef, turkey, swiss, bacon, & mayo. I ordered it "Mike's Way" - which is with onions, lettuce, tomatoes, vinegar, oil and spices. I asked them to go light on the oil, because I saw them drown the sandwich that was ordered before mine. It was a tasty sandwich! It was a little pricier than I'll pay for an everyday meal, for a regular sandwich, chips and a drink it's about $10. I would probably go back more frequently if there was specials or coupons available. So far, a great addition to the Huntington/Mayflower shopping area! read more

I usually come here and it's been good for the most part. Today? The worst possible service ever. Five associates walked by and made eye and NO ONE even acknowledged we existed or said hello. Then the guy who finally, after 3 minutes of washing his hands and getting his gloves on, asked us what we wanted was so rude and even cut my wife off to ask if there were anymore sandwiches. It didn't stop there, then the guy next to him didn't even acknowledge my wife who said"Hello, how are you?" And went straight to asking what do you want on this? So rude and sad cause a lot of people need jobs. If you don't want to serve customers, don't work in a customer service job, especially if you can't fake it to make it. read more

This location is such a joke. It's ran by 18 year olds who have zero customer service skills. First time we came in a few months ago the guy who took our order told us "next time you order, just say "mikes way without the onion, it's a lot easier for us." Umm what? Sure. Today we placed a pick up order and arrived 5 minutes after it was supposed to be ready. The same guy had the worst attitude and said there was no order to be found. After 5 minutes of him aggressively punching things into his computer he found the order & said he'd make it. No apology, no offer for a drink while we wait. The sandwiches were and good and with a bogo deal, they tasted even better! We got two giant sandwiches on the buy one get one coupon. The club sandwich is good, if you do get the sandwich with mayo however you may want to ask for light mayo. They reallyyy slather the mayo on. Also the assembly line is backed up at the first station, which is the area that the meats get cut. I think they may need two of the slicers working at once on busy days. I didn't think "mikes way" would be good at all and I asked the worker to just do half. She slathers it on the whole sandwich before I could stop her. Ugh. Besides that though, mikes way is good! The vinegar is CEO Italy toned down so it's not as sour as you might imagine and he oregano based spices paid well with it. However, I did with the worker wasn't so fast and only added it to half my sandwich. These guys were busy at lunchtime, but that's no excuse! The guy putting the meat on my sandwich hadn't finished doing his job when the next guy grabbed it from him and started doing the veggies. I stopped him and told him the guy still had some meat to put on there, he insisted it was done and then conferred with the guy after him, they agreed it had all the necessary meat and dismissed my concern. Then he tried to put a whole wheat bun on top, and I alerted him I had white bread. Again he conferred with the next guy and it took two of them to figure out I was right about the bread. Mmm, pretty sure I was right about the meat too guys! I called the corporate customer service line to complain, the woman I spoke with was very nice and said she would pass along my concerns to the owner. Never heard from him. I don't like balsamic or whatever vinegar they put so I don't do mikes way but it's still good!They get pretty crowded at times but one bite and you'll see why. For some reason I thought Jersey Mike's Subs were heavy but they aren't. You don't know until you try it. This has become one of our sandwich places. We stopped ordering sandwiches from Subway after a couple disappointing sandwiches (especially the online ordering...sloppiest sandwiches I had ever seen). I come to this location often and the past few times I have had to remind the sandwich makers about my request for extra bacon. but just now. I had to ask the maker for my mayo which came with my # 8. and then also to cut my 2nd order a wrap in half. they still forgot the salt and seasoning on both orders. and the only employee that smiled was the nice tall guy that prepped the meat. So so sad. Esp when I went to get food mostly for my pregnant boss. I used to love it here. i am completely devastated. I began ordering my sandwiches and asked if I could have a mini sandwich with only bread and avocado. It is my three year olds favorite meal. Upon asking they said it would charge as a regular sandwich with the extra cost of avocado. I asked for a more simple price because it doesn't make sense to charge for meat when there isn't any, the sandwich artist said no. I then accepted that I would have to buy it as a mini sandwhich. While it was my turn to add my toppings, the assistant manager was very rude. Interrupting me, throwing ingredients on my sandwhich and purposefully leaving in the cheese when specifically asked for none. They continued to be rude towards my little sister as well, shouting to hurry up and make her sandwhich. Surprisingly the checkout process went smoothly. I will never return to this establishment. Customer service at jerseys mikes in Monrovia was horrible today, Feb 6th... it is common sense for me to request that they make a new sandwich, when another customer, who was given the wrong sandwich (it was actually mines), comes back with the opened sandwich (opened the paper wrap and all), saying that it was a wrong order, and they (the staff) were annoyed that we requested them to make a new sandwich... the cashier literally rolled his eyes at us and the staff had the worst attitude. First.. there shouldn't be a problem with having to make a new sandwich... this is a food and public safety issue..and especially with covid.. you don't want to take the risk. Another issue.. the service was slow... you hire so many people...yet its still slow... no organization and nobody bothered to LABEL the sandwich order.if they had, we would not have the sandwich mess up in the first place. Never going back to that location again. I understand that you guys were busy...but you need to work on your customer service skills and fix that attitude. I had to ask for the Manager to switch into new gloves to start making my sandwich, after he started making it the same cashier who just handled a cash transaction picked up my sandwich to start to finish it. I had to ask that my sandwich be remade. After mentioning to the manager that it is unsanitary to have associates touching food and money using the same gloves he agreed and said he did not see her however she was working together with him 2-3 feet away. I appreciate that the meat is sliced on the spot, per order, but the quality of the lunch meat there is really terrible. It's the lowest quality possible: square shaped, packed with water and salt, to the point where it no longer represents the animal from which it came. Customer service here is really great - everyone behind the counter was friendly, helpful, and attentive. Sandwiches here are THE BOMB! I stopped going to Subway ( been almost 2 years) ever since I discovered the awesomeness of Jersey Mike's Subs. They cut the deli meat fresh in front of you and the toppings are very basic and delicious. I always get it Mike's way ;) The staff seems kind of dazed sometimes, but not in a bad way. Everyone is nice and the inside is clean. Location is great and safe. Not a fan of the payment system for cards where they ask if you want to leave a tip while the worker just stares at you.... Love this place! Went last weekend with my family. I got the Italian Sub since it was a hot day out, but normally I get the chipotle chicken sandwich. The sandwiches I feel are huge, even the "regular". I shared with my 2yr and I was full. They also honored my birthday voucher which entitled me to a free drink and a regular sized sandwich of my choice. Sign up for their reward program, its worth it! Only complaint, they must have been very busy before we came in because all the tables, literally ALL were dirty and had lettuce or crumbs on them. I was greatly looking forward to a good Sub spot. I've lived on the east coast and its been difficult to find that same quality deli sandwich in the neighborhood. I'm standing in Line looking at a very poorly laid out menu above me. As I'm deciding what to order , I'm standing behind the rope where you are suppose to begin the ordering process. (A similar set-up to most sub-spots) Long story short they have terrible customer service. I was waiting in line waiting to order with no other customers in line and suddenly a woman and her daughter come in and cut in front of me. Instead of asking for my order or if I was ready, the man behind the counter went ahead and took her order with out a blink of an eye. I made a comment to the man behind the counter asking how this was acceptable and he proceeded to ignore me. I ended up walking out with out ordering anything and although I didn't receive a hello on the way in the cashier went out of her way to say Goodbye with a smirk on my way out. Was craving a sandwich so I thought why not try JMsubs instead of subway. I just realized the greeting "Welcome to Subway" that I always mock, is pleasant. When I walked in, was not even greeted with eye contact or a hello. Not knowing what I can get, I stared at the menu for a few minutes, then was asked what I want. Said this is my first time do lady recommend the original. Was looking for meat so I ordered roast beef. Here in lies the difference. Only two kinds of bread, 3 choices in size, condiments are a handful. However, the sandwich was not bad at all. Good roast beef! Mayo was good too. When I asked why tomatoes are limped, was told it was riped. Personally, I like tomatoes crunchy and sweet. Personnel are personable but can use more smile and some enthusiasm on their voice and demeanor. To show they like, not necessarily love, what they do. They upsell, so that's good to the business. Jersey Mike's is a decent sub chain. What's cool about it is that they'll slice the meat right in front of you, much like a deli. The place is pricey though ($8-13 per sub?!), so be on the lookout for coupons. Found a BOGO in the local mail: buy one regular sub and 2 fountain drinks, get the second sub free. In our case, it turned out totaling around $13. Not bad. I had myself the Super Sub (provolone, ham, prosciuttini and cappacuolo), served "Mike's Way" (onions, lettuce, tomatoes, vinegar, oil and spices) but w/o the onions. Which was alright. There are two tables out front, though primarily seating is indoors. Two televisions are mounted on either side of the entrance, both of which without volume and on different channels.
