I'm very happy that Jersey Mike's has opened in this area! There are very few good fast lunch options in the area. I work near the area and unless you want McDonald's or Del Taco, you have to drive 10 to 15 minutes to find a decent place. Not anymore, Jersey Mike's and a few other good lunch options just opened in this area. I have been to this Jersey Mike's three times already. But because they just opened, they are still figuring things out, like getting used to the service line, their duties, their speed and efficiency, etc. No big deal, it's the same great sandwiches as all the other locations. I've been coming here 2 times per week since opening day. I've watched for months as the owner has hustled, worked hard, and trained her staff to give great food and service to their customers. Today, two of her employees undermined all of that, and I will not be returning to this location. I simply asked for a side of vinegar as I have every other time, and it went downhill from there with being treated poorly by the girl at the register and the way the "manager" Adrian handled my complaint. I didn't ask to speak to him, but instead, the register girl suggested I speak to him when I dared to tell her I didn't appreciate the way she was handling the situation. I had initially planned to simply give the owner an FYI, but because of what I feel was Adrian's dismissive, smirking, smug way of handling my complaint, and his response of "Go ahead!"' when I asked if I needed to turn to yelp to be taken seriously, here we are on yelp. Owner - if you truly care about each customer experience, please provide more training for these two and message me if you want the full details of my experience. There's more. I stopped in on my lunch break and was surprised to see energetic and FAST employees working together as a team. I've been to other Jersey Mike's locations and sadly, the staff had been unenthused almost as if they didn't want to be there. I was a daily customer until right now, I just got a turkey sub that I always get, the person who was making it was only putting one slice of meat on each section to where i knew it wasn't right so I asked for extra and was willing to pay for it, after the extra was added it didn't even add up to the amount I get when others make my sub here without asking for extra and I'm not talking a huge amount neither just a reasonable amount, its the lightest sub I ever held, and what topped it off is the extra meat was $5!!! I love the quality of the subs at Jersey Mike's Haven been recommending it to all my friends and family . I'm saddened about the bad experience I had today when I went in with my cousin. Arrived placed my order for 3 subs 2 turkey provolone and 1 Phily steak the line was moving fast there were about 4 customers behind me, I waited les than 5 minutes for the 2 turkey subs and was waiting over 10 minutes for the regular size phily sub. I didn't understand the delay since all the customers after me had already left the store So I went near the grill to witness they were barely placing the peppers and meat on the grill I was concerned they might serve the meat undercooked so I nicely asked the two employees to make sure the meat is not undercooked I was surprised when zania* rudely said to not step in the kitchen I told her I wasn't stepping in the kitchen and to lower her voice no need to Yell she continued to say I am not allowed to step near their kitchen I asked for her name she said with a NASTy attitude I didn't need to know her name. At no point she apologized for the delay she appeared to be training the employee who was supposed to start making my sub 15 minutes ago. He was walking around grabbing cookies before making my sub . My husband and I decided to order sandwiches for lunch. I gave a star since staff were courteous and each were doing there task. Everyone has a mask and wearing "gloves ". But as to my surprise, couple of guys assigned on the register moving back and forth to help out in preparing the sandwiches without changing their gloves . I came to Jersey Mikes for my free birthday combo but I never received a coupon or any notifications on the app. I asked if there was still anyway for them to still honor it and one line worker assured me she would asked her manager to double check. HOWEVER though satisfying I noticed my favorite selection the original 13 was being load with with so much ham I couldn't taste any of the other ingredients. TODAY i got wise a requested a the same sandwich WITHOUT HAM AND OMFG it was like I had hacked a broke computer. There is a young African American with braids I believe her name is Regina who definitely needs training in customer service her attitude is very stank. She has smart remarks in regards to how the customer is asking to have their sandwich made and doesn't even smile. I went to the new location 8420 balboa Blvd in northridge. I went on Tuesday and called in a order. I gave the lady my name at the register. It looked like she was shadowing a new man. It seemed like it was his first day. The lady handed me my sandwich and I took it to go. When I was going to eat my sandwich I realized she gave me someone else sandwich. I didn't eat it because I don't eat beef. I called the store that same day which was Tuesday 06/19/18 around 12:30pm and spoke to the manager. She advised me to go back and she would give me a sandwich and my money back. She advised me that she would leave a note in the back. She apologized and was nice. I didn't even ask her name because stupid me I took her word. Today I go and explain the situation to the manager Daniel. From the beginning he seemed rude and overwhelmed. He said there was no note and managers never do that and that usually corporate just mails a gift card. He said to call back later and get the managers name that worked Tuesday. I asked if he could give me the managers name. He said he was too busy and didn't have time to look. He still made me purchase my sandwich and didn't even try to make it right. To top it off I paid cash on Tuesday and the little boy didn't even give me a receipt. This was the worst experience and can't believe jersey mikes has rude managers like Daniel. I've come to this place three times. Each time I have asked for jalapeno's to be put on my hot sub and every time, they ignore my request. They give lip service like "Sure thing" or "absolutely" but they don't do it. If you want anything outside the normal sub, you're not going to get it. So this place will get no more of my business. Ate here the other day and was confused about what sandwich to order for me and a buddy of mine. The worker named Elijah was kind enough to give advise on what sandwich he personally liked and I feel like the other workers were a great help too. Elijah finished my order of sandwiches and I have to say that the store was overall clean and neat.
