Jersey Mike's is a singular example of franchising done well. This is my go to cheesesteak joint (especially on hangover Saturday or Sunday) and my order is very specific and annoying. Almost without exception (that one time where they did not put lettuce and tomato on the side) they get it right and never bitch about my long list of specifications. I have had better cheesesteaks, let's get that right. This one is pretty close to authentic, with good quality ingredients and all freshly made and grilled, and far better than the handful of "authentic cheesesteak" shops Reno has to offer. Pro Tip: Go to Subway and order one for roughly the same price pound for pound, and watch them take the little meat container and stick it in the micro. Then go to JMs for theirs. Easily the worst Jersey mikes on the planet..... I've never had such an absolutely terrible meal from this place..... bread was stale, next to no meat at all in the sandwich, the mushrooms hard as a rock and smell funky, there were no onions and the tiniest bit of cheese. I find Jersey Mike's Subs to be the best sub shop! The meat is quality, and when you say "extra oil and vinegar " they aren't afraid to load it up!! My husband likes the Philly cheesesteak but as you can see he smuggled in the cheez whiz. 12/16/17--My experience at the Jersey Mike's on Virginia was 5 stars as always! Best sub shop in Reno! I ordered the #7 regular which is turkey and provolone. Mike's Way with mayo and extra oil and vinegar ! Customer service is great and you are greeted with a smile. Maybe i'm just simple and like places like port of subs or jimmy johns, But I had high expectations for this place. I'm not going to lie tho, the first time I tried it , I did enjoy it but the second time not so much. Every time I come here, I feel i'm always waiting maybe about 15-20 minutes just to get my sand which. The first time I came here, I ordered the buffalo cheesesteak which, was delicious in my opinion. But I will say, their bread is kind of tough to eat and always leads to me having a big piece of bread left over after picking at the meat to finish my meal. The second time, I had a ruben I believe, and maybe i'm just not a big fan of what was in it , but I was not pleased at all with my lunch that day. Don't get me wrong, the customer service here is great, the location is awesome and right in middle of Reno, and the place is clean and pleasing. From these reviews, I'm not thinking so! I love Jersey Mikes. They hand cut the meats and cheeses in front of you and the quality is just incomparable to a place like Subway. I highly recommend getting your sandwich Mike's Way and asking them to add the red pepper salad. If you go all in and aren't too picky, it's actually super delicious. Start subtracting ingredients and you really could be at any sandwich shop. Sign up for their rewards program and you get a free REGULAR sub AND DRINK on your birthday. You have to print the coupon and it has to be on your bday, but it's my favorite bday freebie every year. It's the most generous and I cannot wait for lunch to come! A while back, before it was freezing outside, I saw a guy twirling a sign on a street corner. "Jersey Mike's". That's all I saw as I was driving, but that was enough! After returning home that day, I immediately looked on Yelp to see what this new place was servin' up! "Authentic Jersey style subs", and while it may be a chain, it's a little different than other shops around, therefore I bookmarked and waited for the opportunity to go. The location is pretty sweet! Next to the olive bar, the inside is spacious enough. They offer cold and hot subs and even wraps. I ordered a #8 Club Sub for myself, a secret menu #99 for the hubby and kids ham for our little man. The #8 is a cold sandwich. I had them put lettuce, light onion, tomato, pickle and their "Juice" which is their Oil&Vin combo. Next time I want to get the roast beef on my club, they trim and roast it in house, from certified angus top round!!!! My sandwich was tangy, and juicy! But I love "juices" on my cold subs. The bread is great!! A crunchy top with super soft inside with a light dusting of corn meal on the bottom. Their version of Jersey white bread...actually good! Now, the #99!!!!! A radical "secret" combination of two sandwiches which, for more info on, refer to my husbands, Mike G's review for Jersey Mike's! But let me say, it is AMAZING!! The kids meal sandwich was bigger than expected and the ladies behind the counter were all extremely kind, patient and helpful! Two stars are for the sandwiches. We walked in at lunch expecting the crowed long lines there usually are. Nope, not a soul. No one said hello, there was a very tall young black man yelling at the top of his voice. He didn't seem to be mad at the person he was yelling at, we thought he was joking around. Unfortunately this young man yelled everything to the other 2 employees there. My wife and I were the only people he used his normal voice with. When we walked out the door we both realized that he was yelling so loudly that our ears hurt. I have to wonder where the previous team of employees went. They were all great people, they greeted everyone walking in and were calm even when the place was packed. All I can say is that my wife and I are happy there are other Jersey Mike's, because we will Not be back to this location. read more

Nestled between Bed Bath & Beyond and World Market, this little sub sandwich shop I fairly new. Staff is friendly. My philly cheese steak was made to order and served hot. And it was a tasty sandwich on way too much bread. Like port of subs, they cut your cold cuts to order as well so they're fresh. Only white bread available. Neat and clean which is always important. Such a disappointment for my first time at this location and second time having Jersey Mike's. All I ordered was a meetball sub and and a #6 and that took 15 minuets to get my sandwich. I understand that this is a new location so that why I will give this place one more chance to change my review, but when you take 15 minuets to make a sandwich I believe that is totally unacceptable. I also wanted to use the buy one get one coupon that I saw online but I couldn't find it and they wouldn't give it to me unless I had the code. I searched online to find the code and still couldn't find it. I also ended up paying for 2 sandwich's. I'm gave it 2 stars instead of 1 ONLY because the sandwich was not bad tasting. Interesting experience. Ordered the chipotle Philly Cheesesteak. Reg size. The fella behind the counter was very friendly and accommodating. When I first got sub, the bread was good but there was a lot of it, I started to mentally prepare myself to be disappointed. But the meat, cheese and veggies were ample inside large sub roll. Once I started to get to the middle it literally got better with every bite. It truly had a great flavor profile. When I got to the last bite, it was like the last bite of an ice cream cone, delicious! And I wish I had gotten the large. It wasn't that spicy but was still great. I'm a fan of the staff, and what they have to work with. Full honesty. I can not say that it's the BEST sub I've ever had. I can't say that the meats are amazing to die for. I can also NOT say I love the bread so much I wish my bed was made of it. I've only eaten at THIS location, so I don't know if they have just an amazing staff hiring deal, or training program that stretches across the chain. I can however say that the people there are SOLID - every time. Do I wish they used meats like Boar's Head? Yeah, of course. The coppa isn't 15 bucks a pound type meat, and the salami isn't something I'd eat with cheese and wine. However the stuff they have for a basic menu shop is surprisingly good. First time I went in there the kid working there was so nice I thought he had to be a manager. Next time a young kid helped me and I thought, No, SHE must be the manager. Then I realized they are just all professional and nice. They've never screwed up a sandwich when I've been there. They have great communication skills behind the counter so they go over each order and lay everything out the same each time. If I went to a place like this and the kid behind the counter wasn't as good as the staff they had there ... I might just eat there ONCE and not go back. Not have anything special that would draw me to it. I'd think: "yeah, it was good I guess but I can get ____ for that price so I'll go there instead." I absolutely hate making sandwiches.First, you have to get all this stuff out and then you have to cut and spread and stack and blah blah blah and put everything away... so much work. And I came back again this week because it was that good. Sandwiches (that other people make) are one of life's little pleasures. From the soft, delicious bread to the freshly sliced meat and cheese to the condiments, it's just GOOD. I like it Mike's Way, with that red pepper spread. That means it comes with lettuce, onion, tomato, oil, vinegar, and seasonings. No mayo. Which is weird to me! I'm a mayo fan. However, it works with these sandwiches. The oil and vinegar totally make up for it. Delicious! However... the turkey? Is completely flavorless. Don't get that. Everything else I've had there (a #2 and a #5 I think) was wonderful. My daughter had turkey Mike's way but it was so bland! So don't try and be healthy. Get some of those fatty meats with fancy sounding names. They also have a nice sounding selection of hot subs. I love Jersey Mike's. I'm from the east coast and have always and will always be a customer. But some of the employees here are absolutely terrible and it reflects poorly on the franchise. There is an older lady who acts like a manager, not sure if she is, but she is incredibly innefficient and it saddens me to see the brand settling for lesser employees. I called starting at 10:40 am, but the phone went to voice mail, and the mailbox was full. After a couple tries with still no answer, I ordered online (and paid online too). When I went to get the order, door was locked, chairs were on tables, but the lights were on. Repeated calls until about 12:10 when a manager answered and said no staff had come to work this morning.
