Workers were very shy and didn't tell me what to do, but the food made up for it

Workers were shy and misleading, but the food made up for it and they're sodas are great

This is a classic jersey Mike's sub location that's been here for a couple years! The only critique I have of this particular location are the teenagers that they employee... They take more than five minutes to put on a pair of gloves. And have lacking ability to talk to customers and better the experience for a customer. The food is more less the same compared to other jersey Mike's subs but I can't say I would not keep coming back to this one spot due to the fact that it's closest to my house

Nice new build out -- fancies up the neighborhood a bit.

I've been seduced by teenage food memories! Jersey Mikes was the inspiration for the Blimpie franchise that rolled out in Hoboken in the early 1960's -- and later in NYC. I've eaten many a Blimpie in my day (mostly in HS) but never a JM. Out of a sense of boredom, curiosity, convenience and nostalgia -- I tried my first "Mike" today at the new location in town. This sandwich is not worth the calories -- but it sure does fill you up. I found the service speedy and the young staff just brimming with enthusiasm and eager to please. In the 1960's, Blimpie Base was cheap competition to authentic salumerias and butcher shops that populated the LES. Blimpies cafeteria style orange decor and plastic seating fit in with the psychedelic age and was the perfect place for ne'er do well teenagers (like me) to hang out after cutting classes -- especially when the weather was bad. It was a safe place to practice defying authority. If we tried that sort of nonsense at an ethnic butcher shop or deli -- we would be chased or worse. Some of my best teenage food memories involve Italian or German or Polish or Jewish deli sandwiches -- always served on great bread. I preferred a semolina or some other crusty loaf -- with its soft insides torn away, to make room for obscure deli meats and cheese and just a very few condiments. It was perfect adolescent food! Such sandwiches were never cheap by the standards of the day -- but you could munch on one for hours -- and inevitably wear some of the crusty crumbs and a condiment or two on your person all day. By contrast, Mike's subs are made of bread that tastes like the soft insides discarded from the sub loaves of my youth -- with an overall mushy texture -- basically Wonder bread. They slather the subs with lots of condiments to make it seem bigger than it really is. They are designed to be consumed quickly -- lest the condiments dissolve the bread into a pudding -- and to fill you up. My giant tuna sub (#10 - $13.50) was decent -- the tuna was fresh and well seasoned but the serving amount of tuna was paltry. Good as the tuna was -- it demanded a better delivery system. In the end -- it's all about the bread for me. I ate 1/2 -- sweetie scarfed the remnants in the fridge... It is difficult to distinguish quality between Blimpies and Jersey Mikes (or Subway for that matter) -- in the same way that it is hard to rate the burgers from large chain hamburger joints like Micky D's, BK or DQ. Once you lay on all the condiments and sauces -- they all kinda taste the same. This IS NOT your friendly neighborhood deli offering hand crafted anything. With 1209 franchise locations in 43 states -- Jersey Mike's is an assembly line that targets tradespeople and local middle/high schoolers trolling the neighborhood for a place to fill their bellies for cheap, hang out, act out, or just stay warm at lunchtime or after school. My 16 year old brought a fistful of Mike's free sub coupons home today. Got 'em in school. I shoulda waited. ;) I suspect that Mike's prospers for all the same reasons Blimpies appealed to my pubescent self 50 years ago -- which is a subtle reminder of sorts that some things have not changed all that much.

The peppers I was then handed

I Can not put into words the treatment that this Location (Ridgewood, NJ) has given me on 2 different occasions !! It's actually quite disturbing and hurtful!!! This is my second complaint at the same location over the same thing (sweet peppers). I love Jersey Mikes and have never had an issue or complaint about any other location that I've visited. However, after this current encounter I will never visit this location again. The shift managers and the General manager and owner have been extremely disrespectful and impolite. I favor and prefer the red and green sweet peppers that they use for the hot subs instead of the jalapeño and banana peppers at the cold sandwich station. On each occasion I politely asked if I can have the red and green sweet peppers on my #7 (turkey) instead of the jalapeños and banana peppers. I didn't think that a simple small request, something that I am paying for would transpire into Dale (the shift manager) yelling at me and screaming that he would call corporate on me for ASKING for the sweet peppers they use on grill!! According to the manager at my first visit on 11/28/2022 (didn't get his name) and Dale (the shift manager at this visit) they are not allowed to put sweet peppers on a cold sandwich. I politely asked if they can put them in a small cup on the side and his reply was "No, we aren't allowed to do that" I informed him that I've been to several different locations who always allow me to add sweet peppers. He proceeds to call the corporate office who advises him that in fact it is not against the rules and is something that they can provide and adhere to. Side Bar: I went in there using the Gift card that was issued to me from the first horrible and rude visit/encounter over the same thing (sweet peppers). I was given the number to the general manager and owner who was beyond condescending and considered saying "he'll take care of it" as an apology. I explained to him the situation that I work for the Hospital in his town/ village of Ridgewood and had visited his franchise frequently. His response was "I donate 20,000 to that hospital you should be happy!" I'm sure the hospital is grateful for his philanthropic contributions, but what does that have to do with me and my experience? Just because he donates money does not entitle him or his staff to treat me or anyone else with disrespect; over sweet peppers. I will never visit this location and will urge anyone I know to never as well as I am traumatized and feel completely disrespected and belittled. If someone who represents this franchise can give me call that would be great Below you will find the .75 oz worth of peppers the manager weighed when corporate advised him to just give me a side of peppers.

My family and I love Jersey Mike's and of course have our favorite locations that we visit on the regular. Unfortunately this location isn't, but because it's close by my job I'm forced to visit this location *insert eye roll*. My main and only complaint is the bread, but that's a major component that makes the sandwich amazing. It's always a gamble, some days you'll have soft bread but majority of the time it's hard (cut your gums hard). It's not like we can pre touch or squeeze the bread so if I ask the employee "Is the bread soft or hard?" And she answers "Soft". I'm inclined to believe her right?.....WRONG!!!! Got home and this bread is rock hard smh #MajorFail I'm so disappointed. Ya'll have to do better!
