This Popeyes is almost the best in existence. The food is typical Popeyes food. Fried chicken, Mac and cheese, you know the bit. The fast food is fast, and usually if you need to wait for your food to be prepared, they will have you wait in one of the spots near the drive thru and they will bring your food out to you. The workers are always very polite and kind. I have never had my order incorrect at this location. The only negative is that their speaker system sucks. It must be hard to hear on the workers end. I have to scream my order every time for them to hear me. Corporate should fix this for the sanity of their workers. I have made this same order several times a year for a good 7 years. Should have cost about $15-$16. Pulled up gave my credit card didn't get a receipt but was handed a bulkier bag than usual but placed it on the drivers seat. Opened it up to eat a bit later to see a big box of mostly white meat chicken, a large side and several biscuits. Not a 3 piece dark meat meal!! I checked my credit card online and I was billed over $39. Yes, the bag seemed excessive, given my order but I was exhausted. My kitchen fridge is on the fritz, so I only have a small filled up temporary fridge right now, so all this chicken is going to waste sitting in my car about 40 miles from this Popeyes location. Tried calling the phone number to complain several times and no answer. I will be disputing this charge just a warning: check what they hand you BEFORE you drive away. What a line! With restaurants continuing to be closed, we swung by the Popeyes drive thru around 1 pm to be faced with a massive line of cars. We ordered an offer loaded on their website for $9 for a 5 piece chicken, 2 sides, 2 biscuits deal which seems like a steal given how expensive meals at Popeyes have gotten. There was minimal contact with the window worker and when we asked for sauces, they were more than happy to dish out tons of it! Chicken was fresh, sides didn't taste like they have been sitting there for weeks. Service was a moderate speed, wouldn't say fast but not too slow where I'm eager to just leave. I frequently pick up lunch from this location because it is close to my job at valley hospital. Loving their gravy as a dipping sauce as alway I request a small container. The women at the window who stated she was the manager wanted to charge me the price of a small side for a spoon full of gravy. I advise that I alway request gravy on the side and don't get charged, pointing out the man who usually assists me. (which I now regret) The women walks away from the window obtains the small container of gravy hands in to me and in Spanish (clearly not knowing that I'm Hispanic) tell the man that he will now pay for it. I went through the drive-through and it took 15 minutes. There was only one car in front of me. I finally placed my order, four piece, macaroni and cheese and a Coke, after taking my money, the manager then tells me there is no mac & cheese and asked , "do you want fries or mashed potatoes? I come to this location often because it's close to my Job. Most of the times I come here, they are always messing up my order and missing items. I don't realize items are missing until I get back to work. One time I realized I was missing an item while I was driving and had to go all the way back in a big circle to get it but usually I can't go back because my break time is limited and I don't have the time to go back. Like other reviewers, my order was wrong. Rather than the $5 special 5 chicken strips dinner I was given #5-the 5 wings dinner which was almost $10. However, I'm cheap and when I went back to the counter to complain (my husband had paid the cashier without paying attention to the cost), the busy counter staff was, while not really apologetic, very nice and accomodating. And I could understand the confusion - #5 dinner vs the $5 special for similar meals.. If I could rate this Popeyes location with less than one star I would. For the last 15+ years we have eaten here whenever we shop in Paramus. The tables and seats were littered with fried chicken-skin crumbs; we had to ask for them to be cleaned. The Sweet Iced Tea was warm and tasted rancid. Now I'll move on to the service: the manager was beyond obnoxious. We witnessed in horror as he charged another customer $1 for a cup of water. He then proceeded to charge a meek elderly gentleman $0.50 for packets of sauce! When it came to us, he didn't budge when my wife told him the iced tea didn't taste good, instead he waved me in the direction of the soda and told me to dump it and get something else using the same rancid-iced-tea laden cup. As far as the atmosphere goes, in between yelling at his coworkers throughout the restaurant he would break into singing in an Indian Raga or Arabic Maqam style (his poor performance made it impossible to determine which one he was attempting). His hospitality was reserved, however, for a co-worker who who was taking a dinner break in the dining area. I've been coming to this location for as long as I can remember. Located rite on Rt 17 this location is always busy. My boyfriend and I tend to always order the same thing.. he orders the chicken sandwich with no pickles and I order the fried two piece meal with all legs and a side of fries and a biscuit. The chicken is always fresh and hot and sometimes they even ask us to park along the side to not block the drive thru due to them frying fresh chicken for our order.The fries and biscuit are the bomb, fries have a nice little kick to them and the biscuit is always flaky and delicious. The honey sauce sends that biscuit straight to flavor town when the two are combined. The workers at the window is never stingy with my honey sauce which I NEED in order to enjoy my meal. Popeyes on Meadow Rd just off RT 17 is our go-to for chicken but I've noticed the quality has been steadily declining and it finally hit rock bottom yesterday (1/3/20). We went inside and ordered a 12 piece with 2 large sides and 6 biscuits. Our order was packed by a guy in a blue shirt (manager?) who gave us 4 wings, 4 legs, 3 small thighs and 1 tiny breast. There was barely any chicken because most of the product was the crunchy coating. The red beans & rice, Cajun rice and biscuits were all excellent as always.
