Didnt look up at me tried to rush me through and seemed annoyed when I asked her if I could get Mike's way but no onions (she literally rolled her eyes and scoffed) the quality of the stuff in the sandwich was good...but the quality of the building of the sandwich was sloppy and terrible talk about Mc Donald's level of mayo and everything just thrown together willy nilly. Then I asked for a drink and she charged me and walked away didnt give me my cup thankfully someone else saw me standing there dumbfounded and gave me my cup. The place itself is good. Walked in and greeted right away. Ordered several sub and surprised the meat was twice as much as many others. We had the #13 giant sized and it took us 2 meals to eat it. Great food and fair prices. Don't forget right now free cookie if it's your first visit. read more

I saw a few raves, some four star reviews and decided to give it a try. Late during the lunch hour, the turn over was good. The behind the counter was kinda confusing for a first timer. Ordered a "mini" and a "regular". Found out they equaled a quarter and half of a loaf. The menu board identified the various items with numbers. The numbers are not in sequence. i.e. Number 2 on the board might be below #7. For us seniors visually challenged, that might cause confusion or embarrassment. The sandwiches were at least on a par with Subway. Some suggestions: the preparer was slicing the filler, putting it on half of the bread, then putting on the scale, checking the weight taking it off the scale cutting more, adding, going back to the scale. I found this very time consuming and confusing. Some time during the four orders before mine the shift super had to come up and I suspect, zero the scale. Suggestion: have small paper take out menus available for us old folks so we can have our selections ID'ed before getting at the point of needing to recite it. Pay attention when we say "light lettuce". All in all the food deserves another visit. I'll try to be a better more informed customer next time. read more

Okay 2nd time in two weeks I have visited this location and both times my order has been screwed up. This is after standing there and saying the same thing 5 times and my sandwiches are still wrong when I get home. I was in the area doing some grocery shopping at the nearby Sprouts. My Hubby talks so highly of Jersey Mike's, I decided to stop by and grab a bite to eat. Let's talk about the good things first. They have friendly staff and fast service. Also, the place is kept nice and clean. I gotta give them that. I'm just not a fan of their sandwiches. I split a giant Original Italian sub with the Hubby and got it Mike's Way with added pickles. They pack the lettuce on there making the sandwich soggy. You're screwed if you plan on saving that sandwich for a later time. It's just kind of messy. I had condiments falling off my sandwich from left to right. When that happens I tend to lose my appetite. I just can't enjoy my meal anymore. I used to work at a gourmet deli in the Napa Wine Country and I always prepared my sandwiches nice and neatly. So I guess you could say I'm very critical of how my sandwich is prepared. I may come back in the future to give it another try....but who knows? read more

I really like the #8 sub club sandwich. Something about the way they fry the bacon has me ordering only sandwiches with bacon on them. The employees are always friendly and willing to help. Not all locations have employees as friendly and helpful as these. I eat here A LOT. read more

Near my work (Clairemont Mesa Blvd) was one of the first Jersey Mike's. I was so glad there was a chain making high quality subs with freshly cut meats, cheeses and fixins - especially since Quiznos went extinct. I was SOOO excited when we got our Santee location. When it first opened it had lines out the door people were excited. I still usually go to the ones near my work, especially since they opened 2 more locations near Ruffin/Balboa. Now that there's no line I've been to the Santee location a few times. Unfortunately I found out more and more why there are no lines. The Santee location seems to exempt themselves from a lot of coupons and promotions. Since the price of JM's subs has risen a couple bucks over the last year or two that makes a big difference. The last time I had a 'Buy 2 Giant subs, get the 3rd free' it didn't specify the location, but the EMPTY Santee location said they wouldn't except it. The 3 staff members would continue to stand around in their empty store as I went elsewhere for a quick dinner solution. For Mother's Day the family decided to go to the bay and have some snacks and sandwiches. We decided to get a few subs. I've heard my co-workers bragging about how cool the online ordering feature is so I decided to save some time and order ahead. The website and email said it would be ready in 23 mins. We pack up the family truckster and head over to the store to pick up the subs. When I arrived 20-25 mins later they had no record of my order until the 3 staff members searched around and found the ticket. Did I mention the store was EMPTY? They kept asking when I called it in, I kept explaining I ordered online. They looked at me like they had no idea there was such a thing. They finally picked up a small paper and said they found it. Then they asked me what kind of subs they were - I was FURIOUS. 15 minutes later with a car full of impatient fighting kids I was back on track to enjoy Mothers Day. We got to the bay and I found they had messed up the toppings but I was over it. Lesson learned. Long story short - skip past this location. Every other location is AMAZING and I hope people don't think all locations are this bad. They didn't give any feedback on the email and didn't offer a receipt as I'd rather provide feedback that can be constructive to management. So here I go - ***avoid Jersey Mike's Santee at any cost*** I hope they switch up their owner/management before this location closes. read more

When my husband and I came in here for the first few times there was an employee with red/pink hair that was insanely rude to customers and that really turned us away from here. But we came back and are so glad we did! We came one evening and Sean helped us out and was great!! I love coming into this establishment. The young men and women working there are among the most professional I've encountered and they give outstanding service everytime I've ever come in. More so, the food is always well mad, my sandwiches are always been right! But last Saturday they really went above and beyond for me and it resonated so much. The crew, Aaron, Nathan, Brittney, and Kylie took such a great care of me and made me feel like an MVC (most valuable customer). Those four deserve a raise! I have been to a Jersey Mike's only once before coming here and I wasn't that impressed. But after my experience at the Santee store I will DEFINITELY be coming back! When I came in the door I was immediately greeted by at employee out in the lobby. She quickly dropped what she was doing and went back behind the counter to wash her hands and started working on my sandwich right away. The employee, Madison, was extremely friendly, asking me about my day and nicely explained the "Mike's Way" toppings to me. The employee who rang me out (I didn't get his name but he had a moustache and seemed like he was maybe a supervisor) was equally friendly, and I actually ended up hanging around for a few extra minutes to continue chatting with the workers there. Stopped in for lunch and ordered a sub. Service was on point really fast which is what I was hoping for. I ordered one of the hot subs that was suggested by one of the workers. I mentioned I liked chicken and he told me practically all the subs but when I looked up and saw the buffalo chicken cheesesteak I knew I found the sub for me haha it was tasty very similar to sub way but way more variety! Went in for a sandwich after being at try outs all day. Never been before and was told it was just ok. Service was fast. I ordered a pastrami sandwich. I received my sandwich and was told as I walked out the door that "this sandwich will change your life." She was right. I will NOT be going back. The sandwich was on a roll not rye (which I was ok with). TONS of thousand island dressing which was totally unnecessary. The sandwich was just ok. Nothing spectacular. Every since the first time I had jersey mikes I always crave their number 13 which is by far the best sub out there , they have the best freshest meat of all the sub shops.
