This review is overdue. I ordered dinner via Uber Eats on Sunday, 03-26-23. I ordered a 4 corner pizza with Italian sausage & turbo crust (butter + garlic + romano), a small antipasto salad with blue cheese dressing, and a 20 oz diet Pepsi. The pizza was hot and the salad and soda were ice cold upon delivery. The pizza is what I'd call an adult personal pizza; enjoyed it & the salad. It's all good in the Jet pizza neighborhood , but personally I prefer the Detroit style pizza which is the thick crust. My awesome wife prefers the thin crust. Venus and mars lol. Tried this pizza joint after shoe shopping next door. Also had a BOGO coupon. Was pleasantly surprised. The place was new and immaculate, service was friendly and food was very good. We got the thin crust and deep dish. Both were tasty but deep dish was perfectly prepared and delicious. For $5, the large salad was fresh and enormous, easily enough for four people. Headline: go here at lunch time so you can get the combo deal! It's $5-$6 and if includes two slices of Detroit-style pizza (cheese or pepperoni) plus a bottled soda from the case. I've been here a few times on the weekend to get that deal. If you like deep dish pizza, you must try this place. The crust is crisp on the edges but soft on the inside. Plus, it's the right ratio of crust to sauce to cheese/toppings. The handful of times I've gone, they've made the pizza slices fresh so it has taken 10-15 min to get the food. I adore Jets Pizza, coming from Chicago to Charlotte the lack of Good Pizza places drove me crazy! Who knew that Detroit had a style of Pizza all their own. Its a crispy crust, with nice toppings and you can get it in a 4 corner or 8 corner version which has crispy edges all around. You can order it Well Done if you prefer. They have regular round pizzas too. Lots of topping and some pretty great salads as a side. Delicious Ranch dressing and more. The only problem I have with them is their Website which is unfunctional. I have even called the Headquarters to talk about it and they said they would fix it. But alas, it has not been fixed. I usually run in and run out, but we recently decided to have a sit down to enjoy some slices in house. It was wonderful. Haven't had Jets Pizza in years and totally forgot about how good it is. Kinda thought the pizza would be triangular but it was square...an NY Sicilian. I still approve. Also their deal was two slices and a drink for 5$!!!!! 5$!!!!!! No tax!!! 5$ EVEN. You literally can't beat that. Especially in Matthews. Yes I love Jets in general. This location is no exception. Story: One of the delivery guys couldn't find my house and called me a bunch of times and i didn't hear it so I didn't pick up. Naturally I looked at my phone after it had been a long time. I called and told them it was my fault but asked if they could bring back the pizza. The ubiquitous pizza parlor in any given city under the sun doesn't have to shove into the long line of familiar menus, toppings and standard pizza accoutrement when you have the right variety. I am very pleased to say that Jet's does an exceptional job and makes for a great experience to be had. Met a friend here for lunch and was excited to see their quick service set up for dine-in lunchers. Very clean spot with ample seating, a generously sized soda/silverware station and huge windows for plenty of natural lighting. The interior is very clean and simple. Just the way any quick service joint should be! The pizza was fantastic. I'm not one for going with "old reliable," but pepperoni was a great choice. The aspects that really make their pie choices are the different crusts. Deep dish with "turbo" crust comes highly recommended. Cool thing about it is that you don't have to pay any extra for special types of crust! The deep dish is so crispy on the bottom and entire exterior, the cheese is perfectly melted and even pooled together around the crust and the pepperoni was slightly crispy and flavorful. Each bite was a well-balanced mix of textures and flavor. The two of us killed a large no problem! Family friendly and I mean...come on. Pizza is always good when you can get it to go! Excited to come back to Jet's and sample some of their other crusts and topping options. Great job! read more
