I picked a basic avocado roll, philly, and the ugly roll with avocado, cucumber, jalapeño and tuna/avocado on top. Also crab/avocado appetizer salad. It had a slightly spicy slightly sweet wasabi dressing. All of it was amazing. I think I need to go again before I depart from Denver to actually try the drunken noodles. read more

I've eaten here about 20 times, mostly takeout. The quality is all over the place, as you can expect when a restaurant has a huge menu. I've sat down here and been given four different menus. How are they supposed to make everything well? A retired chef myself, I've seen this time and time again. The owners tend to point the finger straight at the cooks for the complaints, but make no mistake that the blame is squarely on the owners for insisting on a huge selection, in effect choosing quantity over quality. The sushi is fine, perhaps a notch below average for Denver. Pork buns were scrumptious and well presented. The cauliflower dish is a fantastic vegetable offering. The salmon entrée was an inedible nightmare of a dish that tasted like gasoline (note to cooks- this happens to sautéed food when you let the oil catch on fire). I'm honestly scared to try the ramen, it's not something you can half-ass and they certainly will as they have 50 other menu items to worry about. Service and environment have always been nice, but the food is a gamble. Why gamble on sushi when a lovely new spot across Colfax serves only high quality, no-frills temaki and sashimi? I've given Jett a lot of my food dollars as a regular, but I'm afraid our relationship is coming to an end. Not because I ran out of menu options but because I can't count on any of them to be good. Alright. So far I've only ever had delivery (via GrubHub) from Jett. But I must say that it has been delicious! I've had the hot and sour soup, crab cheese rangoons, chicken pad thai, and the chicken lo mein. All have been delicious. The hot and sour soup has a tasty kick to it. The crab cheese rangoons have green onion in them and seem less oily than other places I've ordered from. Mmm... Meh, I've had better Ok, so, I was in the middle of writing an awful review when I had another opportunity to try Jett. I originally tried Jett because of the awesome ratings that it received for Asian in the area, I'm surprised that the rating is so high. My first dining experience was in-house and from the chinese/thai menu and awful. Well, perhaps it wasn't awful but it wasn't very good and they reuse their pretty little garnishes, which grossed me out entirely. My second attempt was a sushi delivery. This is where my rating went up, because it wasn't only fairly good, it was delivered! There are not many options in Denver to have sushi delivered, so that is an automatic added star. Ordered a fairly large meal for 3 people for pick up yesterday at 5.00 pm (the restaurant opens at 4.30). I arrived at 5.10 and stood around for another 25 minutes while they prepared the meal. I had also left a VM to add an item to the order, which the manager had not picked up. Ridiculous delay, considering the time of day -- no one was in the place until 5.25. He offered me a complimentary appetizer for the delay, which was nice of him to do. But what annoyed me the most was that one of the sushi chefs had a mask around him chin, but never lifted it up to cover his nose and mouth. And this was for the entire time I was there. I told the manager (who should have told the chef 30 minutes previous) to ask him to put his mask on, as I was leaving. He hesitated when the manager told him and I told him in a loud voice to put it on -- he still didn't do it. This place needs to put stricter protections in place. Wearing a mask is not that hard! Great food, but I'm not going to risk going there anymore. Plenty of good sushi elsewhere. read more

We came for lunch on a Saturday and it wasn't too busy. We were seated right away and I ordered the Pad Thai. It came with a salad and an egg roll. The Pad Thai was good and the portions were huge. I really liked that they added a lot of eggs to it. My friend ordered the shrimp with a garlic dark sauce which was good too. There were lots of shrimp and vegetables. By default, his order came with fried rice, so if you want steamed rice, make sure to ask for it when you order. The prices are reasonable. The portions are large and will fill you up. The staff isn't super friendly, but they are efficient with getting you want you need. Their happy hour is from 3pm - 6pm, so hopefully I can make it there again to try it out because the sushi and appetizers look really good! read more

I've been coming here for many years and it never disappoints. One of our family favorite places to dine-in and to get takeout from. Servers are always so accommodating and friendly. Jett stands alone and cannot be beat at this price point. Love being able to get something like their spicy kimchi ramen if I'm not in the mood for sushi. This review is based solely on the Asian fare and not the sushi. It's another one of those, get home from work and find a new delivery menu in the mail box kind of nights. They always seem to be either pizza or Asian food. When I try a new Asian place, I always order the General Tao's chicken (extra spicy) and crab cheese wontons. I figure if you mess those up, you're screwed. The crab cheese wontons were stuffed full of filling and crispy. Not skimpy and limp like some other places. The batter on the General Tao's chicken was pretty crispy and delicious, not the best I've had and certainly not the worst. I'll be sure to try the sushi next time, as it sounds like from other reviewers, it's pretty good. The prices are comparable to other Asian spots around town. Jett changed their menu a few months ago, but I kept holding out the quality wouldn't change as well. Unfortunately, I was wrong. Since the changes, we've eaten dine-in and ordered delivery twice each. First dine-in, we were unaware they'd changed the happy hour rules to no longer include Fridays. Fair enough - you gotta run a business how you see fit - but the regular-priced food we got was just not up to their usual standards. We chocked it up to an off night and gave them another chance. Second dine-in, the menu didn't have a LOT of the items we loved anymore, but we still gave it a shot. Food was once again meh, but the service was genuinely terrible. The place was mostly empty, but we still had to wave our server (and others) down constantly for drink refills (even water!). We gave up at one point and went the sushi bar directly to get more wasabi. The food on the first of the two deliveries was okay, but once again not up to the standards we've enjoyed for years. Then this evening, as we've done so many times before, we went through their website to place an online order. An hour later I wondered what happened, because our food was taking way too long. I contacted their service, BeyondMenu, who said the restaurant cancelled because "they're not open today." Excuse me, what? Says right there on the website, open til 10pm on Mondays. Says right here on Yelp, open til 10pm on Mondays. I called the restaurant and turns out they're closed for remodeling. Seriously: what does it take to update your website and let people know? Just splash it across the screen so customers don't go through the trouble? Nevermind. And yes, I'm writing this updated review in a bit of a huff, but you know what? I've had Jett's food a few times over the years. It used to feature sushi and then the typical assortment of "Denver Asian Restaurant" choices, in other words a mix of not so authentic Thai, Vietnamese and Chinese style dishes. Jett actually did these dishes better than most and the sushi was solid, so it was a good neighborhood spot and one of the better places to get delivery. When I decided to order from them for this New Years, I noticed the menu had changed. Jett is now more Japan focused, with ramen and predominately Japanese inspired sides along with the sushi. The problem is that I don't think they do this food any better than average. The sushi is still solid, with very fresh tasting tuna. But dishes like sautéed ramen and pork belly buns were OK but nothing to get excited about. I suppose Jett sees how popular ramen is and is trying to jump on the trend. I'm not sure if this the best move because if I'm going to eat these dishes I expect higher quality, whereas the more generic dishes they used to sell I was happy if it was halfway decent. Still, good sushi for the price and I'd definitely hit the happy hour. EDIT: This review is for delivery. It seems the food (besides sushi) they are doing now may be better to eat in than take out, so I will try that some time. read more

We've gotten sushi take out from Jett a couple of times, and it's been solid, but we stopped in for some ramen and I'm glad we did. We both had the pork ramen and it was really tasty. We only ordered one to split, but they bought (and charged us for) two, but it was really good so we didn't complain. They also packed up the leftover for us and there was so much broth we were able to add a bunch of veggies to the leftovers and it was just as good second time around. We also tried 2 of the more elaborate sushi rolls and weren't wow'd. I think they do better flavor combinations with the simpler rolls. I miss the old Jett. We used to dine at Jett 2-3 a month when we lived close. We moved away and it's been a few years since we dined until last Monday when we were in the area. The menu changed and it's another overpriced, mid level quality, plain tasting Denver restaurant. It's a shame that there's no longer a regular Pad Thai for $10-12 but a seafood Pad Thai for $16...who told them mussels and Pad Thai go together, I'm Thai and Laotian, I find that ridiculous but hey people must like it, just not for me. Also $20 for Shrimp Curry? Nah, again where's the simple dishes? The service was subpar. Our waiter was very nice and professional, serving drinks and food on a tray with his hand behind his back, fancy but he failed to refill all of waters each time he stopped by. 1 out of 3 of us would get a refill and then play the waiting game for another chance at getting water. He also brought 2 out of 3 of the entrees out for our dinner but then we waited 17 minutes to get our sushi dinner to our table. It's a shame that my daughter had to wait for her meal. They failed to bring all 3 entrees for 3 people to eat together. It's sad that this place has changed. I wouldn't go back just because I know who much better this place was before. I've known this place for years and I have to say they're going in the right direction! The menu has changed quite a bit but it's a nice change to try out new things. Today I had the Panang Chicken and Brussel Sprouts which was so flavorful. Everything came out quick and the service was great! I was greeted warmly and got a table near the window which is my favorite place to sit. Jett has also done renovations which make the place look modern and exciting. There's mixed reviews here about the menu change and service but I've never had a bad experience here and Vicky, the manager, is always there to help with any questions I had. If you haven't given this place a chance, there's no reason not to! This is a place I frequent and will always come back for more. I'm surprised at the overall rating for Jett Sushi as my husband and I live in the area and either pick up sushi on the way home or have it delivered every few weeks or so. It's fairly affordable, in our neck of the woods on Colfax, and the quality is great. We've ordered various noodle dishes and the panang curry, along with many sushi rolls. In my opinion, the curry is legit, and the hubs thinks the noodle dishes are just okay. But the real gem: the sushi. We go for the jumbo Spider roll, the Jett roll, lucky roll, and the hot river rolls. With any order we've gotten, there is a free California roll (boring, but a nice touch) as well. I will say that the crab rangoons (crab/cream cheese wontons) are just so so. The rolls come with the usual sushi "dressings" but they also provide various sauces--a nice addition, and they are delish. I've never sat down to eat in the restaurant, but Jett will forever remain a favorite sushi joint in the area. read more

The manager expected me to take that food still! Unbelievable. That's against health policy and every logical thought. I refused and then they said that I should come back in 75 minutes then. WOW! Yoku yattane! Absolutely amazing place! We eat a lot of sushi and are extremely picky about quality and service. Our two previous experiences left us slack-jawed. This is our only go to place for sushi in Denver from now on. Chic minimalist atmosphere with full bar. We recommend the Saki Bombs or perhaps just try all the Saki in general. I've eaten at Jett twice in the past month - once as a delivery when we first moved and once in the restaurant itself with some friends and enjoyed it both times. For the delivery - they have an online ordering system which is super easy to use and the food came rather quickly. Sadly, Nick and I were in one of the back rooms putting stuff away and we didn't hear the delivery guy. Amazingly enough though he didn't leave. Instead he came around the to back of the house and knocked on that door. And when that didn't work he called us. And we are terrible people because our phones were in the front room and we didn't hear it. Luckily at that point Nick walked out front and saw the poor man standing there. We tipped him a lot, lot, lot extra for the inconvenience and our apologies, but he was still super pleasant to us. So, you know they've got great customer service and friendliness going for them in addition to good food. When we ate in the place was fairly empty and quiet. It's full of red tones and kind of sexy lighting, but the space is open enough to feel family and date friendly. You can order a lot of different things from sushi to noodle bowls. Our server wasn't the best English speaker so ordering was an interesting affair, but we got everything the right way and she was very friendly which was nice. While it might not be my favorite place for Asian fare or sushi in all of Denver it is a nice option to have in my neighborhood and so I imagine I'll be back.
