I'm always up for trying some tasty eats at fusion restaurants, and this newcomer to Colfax Ave doesn't disappoint! I visited for the first time today, but know I'll be back. My thoughts: If you're going with a group, order a bunch of dishes and share. I went today with lovely yelpers Yvonne C and Dave S, and who did I happen to run into but David S? (No, not that one - the other one.) I see that it's his third visit since they opened, so that's gotta say something. The three of us split three rolls ($12 lunch special - spicy tuna, yellowtail and Philly roll with spicy tuna being my fave), drunken noodles, basil fried rice with tofu and veggies, each got an order of soup and had an adult bev - opening specials are $1 beers and sake - and walked out at $11/head. That's not too shabby. The rolls were super fresh and delicious. Can't comment on their sashimi or sushi, but I'll be back to try at some point. The decor is colorful without being overdone, and I love the fixture over the entryway. Bathrooms could use a little work but at least in the ladies I love the sink treatment. Hint: it's not automatic. This place is definitely worth a stop! read more

I've said it before and I'll say it again, I'm skeptical of restaurants serving pan-Asian cuisine. My philosophy is pick a specialty and master it - most restaurants that try to do it all end up doing very little, very well. However, the ravings about Jett were too hard to ignore, especially since Claire was craving some General Tao's Chicken. So, I called in a take-out order, which was a bit of a mistake. Parking near Jett kind of sucks on Friday nights since The Elm has monopolized all of the off-street parking near those buildings. After driving for a while, I realized I should have just opted for delivery. Inside, service was pleasant and the atmosphere was lively. I might come back some time to check out the sushi. In addition to General Tao's Chicken, we ordered the shumai appetizer and their Mandarin Green Beans. The Shumai was horrible. They tasted worse than the kind you can find in the freezer section of your local Asian grocer. They came as miniscule little bites of soggy dough, with no traces of pork and mushroom flavors. Thinking about this makes me simultaneously angry and hungry for the real deal dim sum in West Denver. Moving on...their General Tao's Chicken was also lacking. It tasted like soggy McDonald's chicken nuggets smothered in sweet and sour sauce, served with a few veggies. The pieces of chicken were all white meat - which is probably why they charge $11 for this traditional cheap entree. But really, a mixture or use of thigh meat would have made the dish superior since their General Tao's Chicken was so dry. A high quality General Chicken is a beautiful thing, but I'm starting to think that it is not available in Denver. Lastly, we also sampled the Mandarin Green Beans. These were actually decent, except they were drenched in oil. I felt sick after eating a few. I'm willing to give this place a second chance, but I can't say that I have high hopes given the fact that carry such mediocre items on their menu. I have tried their takeout on multiple occasions because it is near my house. Both the chicken and shrimp dishes were very bland. I don't often write reviews unless I have an over the top great or terrible experience. I have been ordering from Jett for 6 years. My husband and I lived in Park Hill down the street from the restaurant for years. They delivered super fast. The drivers and every person on the phone was great. We loved their sushi rolls and even though they tended to be pricey, their serving size was generous so it made it worth it. Leftovers. I use past tense with the compliments here as recently their service and food quality have gone way down. In the last 12 months things have changed for the worst. My hope is that management sees this review and makes some needed changes. We ordered about 3 weeks ago and while the service was slow, the food was okay. But not tonight. I have ordered 4-5 times in the last 8 months. The delivery takes 15-30 minutes longer than promised every time. When I call to check to see where the food is, the people on the phone are rude. Why do I keep ordering you might wonder? Because I have memories of how great this restaurant used to be. Last night's experience will be the final time I will be ordering from them. *Food arrived 10 minutes past the time I was quoted. 1 hour and 10 minutes. I was quoted 45 min-1 hour. Ten minutes late isn't the end of the world, but when I called after an hour, the woman on the phone was rude and dismissive. "We said it was going to be an hour. I have three drivers on the road your food is on the way." *Once the food arrived, it tasted awful. We ordered Chicken Lettuce wraps, Veggie Eggrolls, and Pork Fried Dumplings. *The Chicken and veggie mix for my lettuce wraps was burned, tasteless, and because of the long delivery it was lukewarm. Ewww. The lettuce itself was warm versus cold as they are normally served. *The Egg rolls and dumplings both were stone cold and honestly tasteless. Sadly after 6 years of loyal patronage, I will not be eating here again. Hopefully they get enough negative feedback that they can make a turnaround. This is a great place to dine at if you're a huge fan of sushi as well as other types of sea food that Jett has to offer to its customers. Firstly, they are very friendly and warm- welcoming. They sat us down in a booth next to a window, and first gave us a nice, ice cold glass of water with strawberries and a lemon on the side to start off with. The appetizers we had chosen some Tempura, and vegetable rolls. The Tempura overall was decent, not the most well made however. We had ordered many rainbow rolls and California rolls. My only downside is the large amount of cucumber and avocado that some of the dishes can actually be included in. I would advise anyone to be careful when ordering, as these dishes can become a little risky due to side effects one may have when eating here. On the other hand, this place is excellent and worth a stop by to visit. For dessert, we had some ice cream and it was very delicious and highly satisfying. I totally recommend this location to anyone as this place is really top notch and friendly. I do advise that parking may be an issue because this area is located in Colfax, so it might be a little difficult to find a parking space in order to enjoy coming to Jett Asian Kitchen & Sushi. Opening day for this new Asian/Sushi place and a bar too! Taking over the old Senor Rita location they totally remodeled the place, very sharp. Started off with Gyoza - Japanese style pan fried dumplings.. Yum. Miso soup was right on the mark as well. All the Sushi and Sashimi were fresh and well presented. They have a large mix of Asian dishes like Thai, Vietnamese and tons of the standards you expect. Nice to have a new neighborhood restaurant. read more

Jett is one of our favorite places to order take out. They are fast and affordable. Some of our staples are Fried Pork Dumplings, Crab Rangoon, Massaman Curry with Tofu, Jumbo Spider Roll and the Lo Mein. It's hard to find a good and affordable sushi place in Denver so I was happy to have found Jett. It's definitely not the best sushi I've had, but it's great for the price and offers free delivery. If you are a curry fan, I would recommend the Massaman Curry. I've never had that type of curry until I found Jett. It's creamy and flavorful. Definitely give it a try. Also, they offer happy hour from 3-6 pm everyday so go there to enjoy some discounted sushi and apps! read more

There are so many good things to talk about here... 1. Thank you Jett for utilizing Yelp's online ordering system. That is AWESOME! And works super well. 2. Amazing food. Seriously. Top to bottom, amazing. The soups were incredible (miso and chicken curry). The noodles were amazing. The mains were delicious. The crispy duck is OUT OF THIS WORLD. And the dessert... I mean, red bean mochi ice cream?!? So good. All for a reasonable price, delivered to my home quickly and hot. Jett... you made a crummy day better (you too, Yelp online ordering system). I don't know how I haven't written a review for Jett Asian Kitchen yet! It's been my jam since we moved to the neighborhood last year. We've dined here about 10 times. Anyone who serves us is always kind and nice. We order high-maintenance sushi (no cucumber, rice on the outside of all rolls) and we never get weird looks and they always get it right. The one time it was messed up, the server noticed immediately and got us a new one right away. We've come at all hours of the day. Before 4pm and after 8pm is quietest; dinnertime usually has a full house. It's kid friendly, as most things in this 'hood are. The Lucky 7 Roll is my favorite - spicy tuna & avocado wrapped and deep fried with fish egg and scallion on top. Yum! read more

We braved a blizzard just to eat here! The menu was fairly simple, but full of flavor and lots of old-time favorites. We ordered the thai beef salad, kung pao tofu, crab rangoons, and eel avocado sushi roll. Everything was delicious and very modestly priced. The kung pao tofu was an especially great deal because it came with a soup or salad and a spring roll. The thai beef salad was good (it featured an exceptional peanut ginger sauce that made a great alternative to thousand island dressing), but the beef was a little on the tough side. My favorite was the eel avocado sushi roll, which practically melted in my mouth. The crab rangoons were also the best I've ever had--piping hot and fresh and STUFFED with crab and cream cheese. YUM! I'm so thrilled to have another good restaurant in my neighborhood, it's so hit or miss with some places. I was happy with my very first visit here about a year ago during their grand opening. The drink specials were a great value, the fish is remarkably fresh and their rolls are inventive and tasty. Yeah, so Denver is a thousand miles from the nearest ocean but it's good to know you can enjoy good fish. I have always gone to Kasai on Quebec Street until I found this place, it's nice to be able to choose now. I read from another reviewer that the service was bitchy, maybe they got someone having a bad day, who knows but the many times I've eaten here I'm greeted with smiles and fast VERY friendly service. Staff is super friendly, great prices certainly a more neighborhood feel. This was our go to spot when we lived in Denver, both for dining out and for take out. We have sampled pretty much everything they have to offer. I would say they are best at their Thai food (Drunken noodles and green curry are our favorites) and the sushi is good if you order in house. Their service is fast and it is a great place to go with young kiddos, although they do not have a specific kids meal or any sort of child entertainment (apparently too many kids ate the crayons). So if you are looking for a great local spot to grab a cheap yet tasty meal then Jett is your money spot. read more

The waitress was new but very sweet and helpful. The table was a bit filthy ( we had a booth seat) but it was soon overlooked by the yummy hot sake! The fish was fresh and the seaweed salad had an amazing presentation. Ladies beware...the bathroom was FREEZING and the hot water never seemed to never get hot....it was a bit harsh on a cold January afternoon. Parking was a bit of an issue during shipment time. Good portion sizes on the more basic dishes. Girlfriend got pad tai and I got a dish w bean noodles, cauliflower, beef and other veggies. Paid 8 bucks per meal and comes with a small garden salad with delicious peanut dressing. You can easily make your 8 dollar meal into two seperate meals. The food won't block your socks off, but like I said, average food... broken down into two meals, $4 a piece... that's a solid deal! The sushi, while I didn't try it...looked very reasonably priced as well. Plenty of four and five dollar rolls, though I can't speak of the quality of their sushi. Will go back! read more

Great food, and friendly staff. Love the happy hours, and all day Sunday+Monday is tough to beat. Brussels sprouts (yes, really) and wonton soup are the best. Tonkatsu ramen is awesome, and the Denver Bomb roll (lobster inside(!) a cucumber with spicy mayo- fantastic! They should advertise that roll more, it's quite unique to the restaurant. Sushi chefs are well trained and meticulous, much better than other places. Highly recommend this place with the new menu. read more

Over the years my friends will ask when are you moving to a ranch and I always replied, when I can get sushi delivered. It was kind of a joke. Well welcome to my little ranch in the city, stop in and stay a while, and I will have sushi by Jett delivered. Neighbor Sam and I split several rolls, sushi, the Vietnamese Sweet sour soup (the jewel of the meal), and summer spring rolls. The California roll was more of a Crab with a K salad and looked a bit like cat food but was tasty and the spicy tuna really did look like Friskies; the cats loved it. The sushi and spring rolls were good and as I said the soup was wonderful, all in all an A-OK meal. It was delivered quickly and with nice decorations, a small plus. read more

This place is hit or miss for me. I order delivery from here a lot, and sometimes it's outstanding, other times, not so much. Most recently, I ordered the three roll sushi lunch combo. Two of my rolls (Philly, Christmas) were riddled with poorly cut fish. Just gristle all through it. Pretty big bummer, and far from cheap ($14). I also had the sesame chicken not long ago, and it was really tough and the sauce tasted burnt, somehow. Didn't realize this place existed until I got an advertisement in my mail at work. I am always game to try a new place for sushi - and it is relatively close by so I had to give it a try. The inside is trendy and clean and my first thought was if they live up to the design of the menus we have a winner. Ding, ding, ding - yes we have a winner. I ordered miso soup, a Ninja roll, and an eel avocado roll. It was all good. The ninja roll is shrimp tempura and spicy tuna on the inside with eel and avocado on the outside - very tasty. I thought the eel avocado roll was a little skimpy on the eel but it was still tasty. They still had the $1 beer and saki special- which was the least I have ever paid for an Asahi (this special goes on till the end of June... ). This place has been officially added to my list of go to sushi places. Can't beat the location. read more

This has catapulted up to one of my fav happy hour spots over the last month or so! We decided to check out this neighborhood joint on Sunday evening for a "Mourning Monday" happy hour. They offer HH everyday from 3pm-6pm which includes discounted sushi and apps along with $2 sake and beers. I'll be honest here, I'm not the pickiest when it comes to sushi so I can't really speak to the quality, but I definitely enjoyed the rolls (got the salmon, Philadelphia, and yellowtail) and LOVED the steamed pork potstickers. The things that I love about this place are the cheap prices, it's not crowded beyond belief during happy hour (COUGH, Kona), prompt service, and cool atmosphere. My boyfriend got out of this place with three rolls, potstickers, and a couple of beers/sake during happy hour for about $25... sounds like a winner to me! We'll be back soon! read more

What a great new addition to the neighborhood! I've been here twice already and enjoyed it both times - especially the $1 sake and $1 beer grand opening specials! The decor is fresh, and there's a nice (and full) bar. Both times I've had the tuna tataki, and it was awesome - fresh thin slices of tuna sashimi, with a flavorful glaze and jalapeno slices - what a great flavor combo! The sushi I ordered here was also delicious. Last night a friend ordered the kung pao chicken and said it was among the best he'd had. I ordered some drunken noodles and was a bit less impressed - stick to Tommy's and Chada Thai for the real Thai food. One thing that I hope changes with time is the hurriedness of the staff - seriously, they are all in overdrive and it's almost like they can't wait to get away from your table and onto their next task, even while you're ordering! read more

I am always a bit wary of Asian restaurants that try and do too much - so when I saw this place served sushi, Thai, and some Chinese dishes, I was a bit concerned. That being said, thanks to fellow yelpers, I figured I would give it a try. We ordered delivery and decided to FEAST - we had the Fire Tuna roll, sashimi appetizer, Panang Noodles, Chicken Curry, One Night Over Bangkok, and a few others... After ordering the woman told us it would be here in 15 minutes - a kind of red flag. Pro/con here - it actually took an hour, which is good that they actually cooked it, bad that I was misled. The food did NOT disappoint - especially given that I was a bit putt-off by the delay in our delivery! Rarely is a place both great at sushi and thai - but nailed. The noodles were awesome with just the right amount of curry. The curry for the chicken dish was perfectly flavored. The soft shell dish (Bangkok) was a bit over fried - but still tasty. I was especially impressed by the quality of the sushi - fantastic! Having been disappointed by mediocre at best asian delivery/take-out, I am happy to say that Jett Asian is now our go-to choice!!! read more

Very dependable. I have ordered the sushi, pad thai, and sesame chicken all for delivery. Each time I have ordered (through the Yelp app), they have been timely, everything is hot, and the order is correct. I'm usually skeptical of Asian-fusion type restaurants. My fear is they do a lot of things, but none of them very well. But in this case, everything I have ordered is very good. None are the best I've ever had. But they're very good. read more

We came here with 10 adults and had a great time. It was my husbands birthday and they decorated the table, gave him a really fun/obnoxious birthday sparkler and song along with a dessert. We liked the vibe and music, and the sushi was great -even the presentation. Only complaint could be better cocktails ( the few we got weren't good ) The service was slow at first but the restaurant was busy and eventually we were on a roll. Really had a great time! Wow the reviews on this place are all over the place... And I'm honestly surprised! I will preface this by saying that my review is based solely on the sushi and sake. It looks like people aren't really a fan of the "pan asian" fare here. I'll probably never know if it sucks because there sushi is so bomb, I don't want to try anything else! Our waitress (Jenny, I think) was absolutely adorable and sweet as pie. I went here on a double date and the other couple are regulars at this place- Jenny remembered them and gave us some awesome suggestions and a pretty swell hook up on the sake. Boo yah! I like sushi just fine, but I'm not super adventurous with what I try, and I never really crave it. We got some standards- spicy tuna, spider, california- but per Jenny's suggestion, we tried the monkey lover's roll and the never try never roll. Holy sushi-gasm!! Like, furrreal, girl. They were both a little strange in composition (one had banana with shrimp and lobster, and one had shrimp, tuna, lobster, crab, and kiwi- if you can't figure out which one's which, you're an idiot), but I totally dug it and could not stop stuffing my face... We went to check out the sushi during happy hour on a Thursday, so this review focuses on the happy hour menu. Pleasantly surprised and thoroughly satisfied with the quality of nigiri for $1 pieces and basic rolls for $3. Now of course it doesn't have the mind-blowing freshness, flavor or selection of Sushi Den or others in that "top tier" category, but this is some of the best "middle tier" sushi I've ever had. The tuna, salmon and red snapper nigiri was all fresh and flavorful, and the pieces were decent size. And the Alaska roll, eel/avocado roll and sweet potato roll were also very good. We also ordered one specialty roll not on the happy hour menu....the Tokyo roll, which was excellent. Jett will definitely be in my regular rotation as a "go to" sushi happy hour spot! And of course......two-for-one sake and Sapporo is icing on the cake. read more

Consequently, I really don't have the expertise to recognize the subtleties that I'm sure exist in the world of sushi. This stuff was delicious, just like all the other sushi I have had. I used to have a friend who would try to gross people out by saying, "You know how when you're eating mayo out of the jar by the spoonful..." He claimed that it always worked because even people who love mayo don't eat it by the spoonful. Then he met me. I love mayo. I will eat it by the spoonful. So, fast forward to tonight. My Boston roll arrived with no mayo. Mayo is pretty much the entire reason I order the Boston roll. Strike one. The rice was bland. Strike two. The fish was fresh. Yay! The pad thai has good flavor and no bell peppers. Yay! The pad thai is also dry, and the delivery person called me from outside my condo building instead of coming up--like I specifically said to do in the delivery instructions. If I wanted to move beyond my front door, I would not have ordered delivery. Strikes three and four. Factor in the two "yays," and we're at minus two stars. P.S. I don't like that you can't choose your own spice level on their Eat24 page. It doesn't matter too much to me because I am not picky about spicy level as long as it's not burning my tastebuds off, but most of my friends would be displeased. read more

Living social deal lured me into this place. It's a trendy-looking spot in Park Hill. Dim lighting, cool bar, nice ambience. Decided to order a few things: hot & sour soup, drunken noodles w/ tofu, and the ginger stir fry entrée. the soup was ok, not hot enough, and also not really enough flavor. It didn't have enough of the sour flavor to it. Not quite right on the "hot/spicy" part either. The drunken noodles were....eh. Really disappointing. It did not taste or look like drunken noodles to me. The noodles were wet and the base of the sauce was soy sauce....I don't think that's how they're made a Thai restaurants. It actually tasted like a dish that came out of a Chinese restaurant. And, not sure if I'm completely correct but I have a hunch that the owner is Chinese just based on her accent. The best thing was the ginger stir fry- veggies were fresh, chicken was tender, and the dish had a nice gingery punch. Based on this experience and ordering a few dishes, I feel like I won't return. I wasn't impressed. I like restaurants that do just one type of cuisine because usually they do it much better than places like these that do them all. read more

The waiter went to talk to the manager who stated it was no longer current. They don't know why it was even there. The poor waiter apologized profusely, but I don't think I'll be coming back.
