If you're trying to find a jeweler that listens to your every need and can create the ring of your dreams, then Juan is the jeweler you have been searching for!!! My finance gave me the option to help pick out my engagement ring which I am glad he did because I was not very informed or educated about diamonds or even the style that would best suit my hand. Ring shopping is overwhelming in itself and eventually you just have to step back and breathe and ask yourself the basics, such as, do I want princess cut, do I want a halo etc. Once I was able to make a decision, I saw a ring at a commercial store, but it was a bit over the budget we wanted to spend on my ring. Stumbled upon Jewelry Loft on Yelp and having read the reviews were eager to find a jewelry store with personable staff that did not make the trip for an engagement ring feel like a trip to a car dealer. Not wanting to order a morganite on Etsy without first having seen the actual product we took our idea to Juan. We bought my engagement ring online so when I noticed it sounded like the stone was loose I looked at yelp for a jeweler nearby. I saw everyone raving about this place and about Juan's service. I brought it in and told him I could hear it rattling. He looked at it and said it did look loose & to give him about 10 minutes and then come back. When I did he had it waiting for me and explained that because of the large size of stone, the prongs were not tight enough. When I asked how much it was for him fixing it he said nothing it was on the house & to just remember them when I need it cleaned or something else repaired! Now that is customer service! I walked in and was acknowledged right away . I came here today to get a bracelet that I thought was silver fixed , but the lovely man who attended to me let me know that it was only plated silver . I let him know I was trying get it resized w/a new clasp due to it being loose and falling off, but due to it not being silver there was nothing he could do to resize it . We chatted for a bit while he offered to tighten my clasp on my bracelet for free , although I wasn't able to get it resized my experience here was a pleasant one . I cannot say enough wonderful things about this place & Juan. We stumbled upon this place based on the incredible yelp reviews after having gone to multiple places all over San Diego County. I have several metal allergies and it makes it difficult to just walk in and buy a ring. When we lived in Hawaii my husband came across Palladium as a good hypoallergenic metal to use and that is what my engagement ring was made of (because it was an uncommon metal my husband later told me he had to wait for my engagement band several weeks and it kept getting delayed from this place in Hawaii) Since I had not had any reactions to the engagement ring we were on a hunt to find someone who could make me a Palladium wedding band. Unfortunately, most jewelers don't want to work with Palladium as it is on the more difficult side and if places do finding someone to channel the diamonds the way I wanted was near impossible. I was looking for a thin palladium band with princess cut diamonds channeled in, but I am not fond of the center diamonds on a band being larger than the rest. As soon as we got here Juan was more than welcoming, showing us all of our options, and above all listening to what we wanted. He wasn't trying to upsell (like you would get at most places) he was simply trying to hone in on what we were looking for. He showed us all of our options, I showed him a picture of what I was looking for and he said he could make it happen and at a very reasonable price. We got both of our bands on time, mine was custom made, and Juan went above and beyond contacting multiple places to get me my palladium band. I have really been lagging on posting a review as I got married over a year ago. But this just goes to show how happy of a customer I am! It is over one year later and I am still absolutely in love with my custom ring, no complications, and Juan gets a monthly visit from me coming in to get my ring cleaned! We are beyond thrilled with this place! I would highly recommend it to everyone! We even recommended him to my brother-in-law who came here with his now wife back in March and had a very happy experience just like we did. I highly recommend you check out this place. Juan is honest, friendly, and accommodating. Could not be happier! I still catch myself looking at my gorgeous ring (the picture doesn't do it justice). We discovered Jewelry Loft based on Yelp reviews when we were looking for a wedding band for my fiancé (now husband). Juan was incredibly helpful...he showed us a variety of rings and was able to give us great information on tungsten (virtually impossible to scratch). He even took the time to have Justin try on bands of different widths and thickness to see what was most comfortable. We found a great band at a great price and we're delighted with the whole experience. Not to mention they cleaned my engagement ring for free! After our wedding, my husband accidentally dropped his band on a tile floor. It must have hit at just the wrong point because it cracked and then broke. When he called Jewelry Loft, they told him to bring it in and they would replace it, no charge. Once again, just excellent customer service. My family has been to the Jewelry Loft on several occasions and we have always come away very satisfied. Recently I purchased a watch online and the metal band needed adjusting. After reviewing a number of postings on Yelp I determined that the cost would be anywhere up to $20. Last year I had a watch battery replaced at the Jewelry Loft and the cost was less than what I have paid in the past at the watch repair department in the basement of a national retailer in Parkway Plaza. I went back to the Jewelry Loft for the adjustment because of the service I received last year and because I would rather support a locally owned business over a nationwide big box retailer. I was greeted by Juan and after I told him what I needed he said there would be a "nominal fee" to adjust the band. I was totally surprised when he said it would only be $5 as I was prepared to pay $20; after all I hadn't bought the watch there. I guess the adjustment took about 10 minutes. Removing two links made the bracelet too tight and reinstalling one of the links made it a bit loose. Juan then made an adjustment to the clasp and I was happy with the fit. I know there are other stores in Grossmont Center that replace watch batteries and adjust watch bands but I doubt any of them can match the friendly service you'll get at the Jewelry Loft. If you are wondering about the quality of the service the Jewelry Loft offers, don't, jewelry repairs are performed by a master jeweler and the watch repairs by an expert watchmaker. My wife's engagement ring has a loose setting and her ring-guard has a missing diamond. Soon as I recover from Christmas those two rings will be going in for repairs at the Jewelry Loft. I highly recommend the Jewelry Loft if your watch needs some work, or you have some jewelry needing repair. First, it was a little confusing to find the store, but it's next to the beauty supply store by jamba juice and across from panda express. So once I found it, Yulia was kind in taking the time to explain the options for pre-made settings they could order and showed me books for which chains they could order, and she was really cool when we said we were still shopping around, she didn't give any sort of guilt trip or lose any amount of polite, attentive customer service. This is what made me ultimately choose the Jewelry Loft to reset the diamond into a necklace. And when I returned with my sister, I was nervous about not being taken seriously since we both look young, but Juan treated me with the upmost respect and took his time to answer all of my questions and we worked together to design a custom setting. The first store I went to, the person was snobby and told me he wouldn't work with lab-grown rubies (which is ridiculous since they are actual rubies). When I went to The Jewelry Loft, Jaun was so nice. He didn't have a problem working with lab-grown rubies and recognizes that the indusry is changing, and embraces new technologies. She took a picture of the ring and my paperwork on the ring and said I could walk around while she worked on it for about 20 min. I just got engaged yesterday morning, but the ring was a little too tight. After looking at some Yelp reviews, we decided to give Jewelry Loft a call. Juan told us he could resize the ring at a VERY affordable price, and we could have it back the same day! We got to the store about 45 minutes before closing, and Juan helped us size the ring for a perfect fit. He also assessed the ring, which was a vintage family heirloom and had some wear and tear damage and tarnishing. He offered to re-set the stone, clean and polish the ring in addition to resizing. Initially, he told us we could have it back Tuesday, but after a minute, he said he could get it back to us the same day so I didnt have to be without my ring since I had just gotten engaged a few hours before!! When we came back, it looked like a brand new ring!! Juan even told us some information about the stone and told us cleanings were complimentary every six months.
