I went with JFK Moving based on their strong online reviews and expected a professional, reputable experience. I'm a military member and have moved roughly 15 times over 20 years, so I have a lot of experience with movers. This was my final move, and I wanted it done right. To be fair, the actual packing and transport of heavy items was handled competently. For roughly the first 90% of the move, everything appeared professional and legitimate. I won't take away from their crews' ability to physically move items. Unfortunately, once an issue arose, the experience deteriorated quickly. A large OLED TV stopped working after the move. There was no visible external damage, which made the situation more nuanced. What followed was a prolonged, circular claims process that felt designed to wear the customer down rather than resolve the issue in good faith. Communications became repetitive and legalistic, with responsibility repeatedly deflected rather than meaningfully addressed. What ultimately concerned me most was speaking directly with the television repair technician JFK Moving used. He told me he was pressured to put in writing that the issue could not have been caused by the move. He declined to do so, explaining that he could not definitively determine causation either way. I did not ask him to make any statement on my behalf, nor did I feel it would be appropriate to do so. That interaction raised serious ethical concerns for me. I also found the company's written responses to rely heavily on templated, AI-style language that felt impersonal and dismissive rather than transparent or solution-oriented. As a customer, it came across as an attempt to grind down a legitimate claim through process rather than engage honestly with the facts. I understand that the moving industry operates on tight margins and that disputes are complex. I was not expecting full replacement value, and I've resolved similar situations amicably with other movers in the past. In those cases, neither side "won," but the outcome felt reasonable and fair. That was not my experience here. I can't say whether JFK Moving is worse than every other mover, but I can say that when a dispute arises, their approach left me disappointed and concerned. When they arrived they worked really hard and as a team to get things out quickly. When they arrived to my moving destination they worked super fast and efficient to get things up to my 3rd floor apartment and I felt super bad due to the heat but they never gave up! Hired JFK to do my moving from Irvine to Anaheim. They did a fantastic job. Reached out to them through their website for an estimate and they replied quickly and thoroughly. Their rates were clear and fair. Since we were moving from a small apartment, they recommended 2 movers and 1 large truck for the job. On moving day, the movers communicated when they were arriving as a heads up. They were diligent in wrapping items in generous plastic wrap and moving blankets. It was obvious they brought much experience as they assessed their approach for packing the large truck. Nonetheless, this also means they did not rush to get the job over with. Their helpfulness did not end at the packing. Once at my new home, they were just as attentive and careful with bringing furniture and heavy items to the appropriate rooms. I cannot thank this company enough. Jay, Anthony, and Arelleo were PHENOMENAL and I have moved A LOT! We downsized from a 2 story gated townhome into a 2 bedroom, one bath apartment. Although we didn't have a ton of stuff, we had a lot of very important pieces. Getting them down the two flights of stairs on a hot day was going to definitely be difficult. The previous company we had messed all of our furniture up so badly, we didn't think once about reaching out to get quotes from other companies. I've read that this company was the absolute best. When they arrived they assessed the areas and how they would move things. Jay took the time to properly care for each piece like it was his own. They wrapped and blanketed everything as to keep it safe. I had a heavy glass table and Restoration Hardware couch that I was really worried about this move, but Jay made the stress completely go away. I called JFK Moving about 3 weeks before our planned move date because they had the best reviews and prices I could find online for our area. I spoke with Cassandra and she was very attentive and knowledgeable to the questions I had. I let her know I would call back later if I had any other questions. About a week passed and I received two emails from Cassandra following up on our conversation. We decided to hire JFK moving...our lives were too busy with work/kids and the amount of stress involved in packing and figuring out the move, in general, is a lot. We needed help! Based on the reviews, prices, and attentiveness from staff at this point, it was enough for us to hire them. They seemed like they had it under control and they hadn't even started yet. Our move was for a family of four from Southern California to Northern California, not an easy task. Oscar, Shoh, and Beck were our movers from JFK moving and they rocked!!! The first trip they arrived on time, packed the truck for us for about 7 hours and then drove up north. They then unpacked the truck till 7am!! I was impressed with how positive they were the entire time. I could tell they were tired but they kept working until everything was done. The second trip was just as impressive. We had stuff at our condo that Oscar went to get for us...he went above and beyond to make sure our stuff got to us while we stayed at our new home. Everything made it just as expected. JUST GO WITH THE OTHER GUYS Wow what a terrible experience...... I literally spent $750...WHY?? Please tell me what for?? I felt like I was managing my teenagers. The crew you sent was completely unorganized, unprepared and not up for the task... where I'm from you work smarter not harder.... unfortunately this crew did neither. They completely failed to due thier job with zeal, integrity, communication and just plain ole good customer service......there were a series of issues; which I will pain stakingly list out.. #1 - My appointment was confirmed at 10am with an advanced deposit paid 48hrs prior to move. On day of move I receive a call at 10am telling me they will arrive at 10:45...?? #2 - Not all crew members had masks or sanitized. #3 - During the initial "walk through" I made it clear that there was nothing more to be done (except clothes in closet) and to start loading.. I asked for wardrobe boxes (which they took 45 mins to actually bring inside) - and guess who filled them and moved them out the room???? I did ...again what did I actually pay for?? (me doing stuff because the team didn't will be a recurring action in this review) #4 - My apartment was completely packed up AND staged at the entryway....MY ENTIRE HOUSE WAS PACKED...NOTHING HAD TO BROKEN DOWN OR PACKED BY THIS CREW...yet it took 3 men literally took 2.5 hours to load a truck 10 feet away...if you think I had a lot of stuff ..think again.. I had the furniture equivalent to a small 1 bedroom...but again my apartment was COMPLETELY STAGED AND PACKED BEFORE YOUR ARRIVAL... I had all totes stacked, lamps, accessories, etc complied together.. for some unknown reason they felt it necessary to put plastic on stuff that simply didn't need it if properly secured in truck.. (the had issues with that too)..smh. 5. Lack of equipment... again I made my appointment days in advanced.....explained my specific moving requirements, access points at origin & destination...hoping to be as efficient as possible. Yet this team had nothing... no sturdy, actually clean wardrobe boxes, 1 speedpac, 2 dollies.. 6. Lack of Communication & Unethical practices.. after leaving origin point and agreeing to caravan to destination the crew bypasses the destination, calls and decides to take a lunch mid transit...I didn't mind them taking a lunch (I might have paid for lunch) but the lack of advanced communication and basically disappearing with my goods on board didn't provide any type of security for a first time customer. 7. Finally an hour later they back arrive at the destination...and this is where the shit really hits the fan. again lack of supplies meant they could drag this process on forever coupled with thier mental excuse of "its the 4th floor" ... again none of this should have been a surprise... I told you in advanced I was moving to 4th floor with interior elevator and stairs adjacent to unit. They literally begin unloading and walking up small items 2 at a time.. for instance a lamp and a bag of pillows... (stuff that could have been loaded into a speedpac...along with other items and rolled over to the elevator... there were multiple occasions I would leave my unit to find items left in loading zone/hallway for upwards 10/15 mins... what were those guys actually doing???... *Does it really take all 3 guys to unload truck? because of thier lack of energy I again jumped in to move a piece of furniture only to be ran over by one of workers moving another piece of furniture.....that was almost the straw that broke my back... but then one of workers asked me to help move something (because the other guys were MIA) I had to remind him I was the one actually paying. new apartment has white carpet.. crew didn't have shoe covers so ultimately that meant they had to drop everything at door.. equipment was dirty so could roll it on carpet... team didn't think to put down blankets or anything....and left me with a ton of trash ..again from unnecessary wrapping stuff to suck up the time.. I hired 3 guys but I never saw any of them together at any one point actually working together to complete this move timely nor efficiently. read more

I have to commend them on their attention to detail and making sure all our furniture got transported safely! They worked nonstop for 5 hours, efficient and so kindhearted. I recently hired JFK to assist with my local move and I was very pleased with their service. I should have done this review earlier but moving is crazy and stressful. I only needed to use them for the 3 hour minimum and there was no attempt to upsell or pressure me to do more than what I needed. There were 2 guys who did all the work and they did it very fast and efficient. They were very polite and they came ready to work. They had everything they needed, a decent sized truck with a lift instead of a ramp which was impressive. I can't say enough about this moving company! My family has used them twice as we sold our house, moved our belongings to storage and then into our new one about a month later. Alex, Bobby and Fernando were simply amazing. They handled all of our belongings with the upmost care, took instruction well and were extremely kind and professional. It actually rained during the first leg of the move and they still rocked it! They covered the entire house with blankets to ensure that the flooring was protected and they shrink wrapped EVERYTHING extra tight as it was transported to each destination. I can't tell you how happy I am to have gone with this amazing moving company. I've never felt the need to post on Yelp before but now I just felt like people needed to know how amazing this company is. I requested a quote at 5:30 am due to the fact that I was in desperate need of moving help not too later that morning. I am 20 year old who got into a bogus lease with a 30 year old mentally unstable roommate which resulted the need to immediately take my stuff out before any harm was done to them.
