Stop by and see the folks at the Jiffy Lube on S. Fremont Ave. I brought my Honda van by today for an oil change. The men and women here were hard at work, and you can watch them work on your car start to finish. Jiffy means "jiffy" (i.e. quick). Even with a completely packed bay of 15 or so cars, they got me in and out in less than 30min. You can't beat that. Nobody was standing around; everyone hard at work. Drove away with clean windows, fresh oil, fluids checked, van vacuumed, and free coffee. Jiffy lube does cost more but they DO more. They do offer you other services than what you ask for (what business doesn't these days), but in my two visits to Jiffy Lube thus far, if I say "no thanks," they don't pester me any further. I've done a LOT of my own oil changes and mechanic work but sometimes things are busy and you need to get the oil done quick. This is the place to save time. Time is money. That is another reason their cost is a bit higher - they change your oil fast. Other places, you pull in and they want you to leave your car for an entire afternoon until they can get to it and change your oil 3 hours later. At Jiffy Lube, you get in, get out, and cross that "task" off your to-do list for the day. read more

The service here is friendly. But sometimes they forget to vacuum inside the car although that is supposed to be part of the regular service. This time no problem with that. Instead, Gabriel was great... I'd taken my car to several places but because it's an old car with many idiosyncrasies no one could help me with wiper blades. I will never go to Jiffy Lube again. I don't even want to drive by a Jiffy Lube. After my experience with this Jiffy Lube in Alhambra, the very words "Jiffy" and "Lube" send waves of terror through me. Yesterday, I rolled in for a routine oil change. No big deal, I thought. About an hour later, oil changed and air filter replaced, I paid my $60 bucks (ouch!) and went out to my car. I turned the car on and drove down Fremont... Then I heard a noise, a deep rattle and a horrible smell, followed by smoke emitting from under the hood. I had only driven about a half a mile away, so I made a U-turn and went right back, car shaking and sucking and smoking. I pulled into Jiffy Lube and turned the engine off. They told me, "maybe you were driving with your emergency brake on." I laughed in their face. Um no, I'm not an idiot. Two of them looked under the hood and said "oh nothing's wrong, looks good. Caps are screwed on." I looked with them. There was smoke coming from the engine; there was a horrible chemical burn smell. "It's 'fine?'" I asked, almost laughing. REALLY? They told me to turn the engine back on. Surprise, surprise the engine did not turn back on. The car was dead. "Oh it's the starter," the manager said. "Unrelated to the oil change... It must have been how you turned the key, how you switched on the car when you left." I was beyond stressed out at this point and very thirsty for water. For whatever reason, there are no water bottles available at Jiffy Lube, so I left them with my dead car and ran across the street to buy water where I found a Chevron station with a sign for "starters" and "repair." I got my water and the friendly Chevron mechanic said to get my car over to him, he'd look at it. Water in hand, I walked back to Jiffy Lube where no one was even looking at my car anymore -- it was just sitting there with the windows down, key inside. I had to go find the manager. He threw up his hands: "It's a coincidence." I told them I found someone across the street, a real mechanic, who could access it. We then pushed the dead car across Fremont to the Chevron station. I had to steer -- a terrifying experience in oncoming traffic. We got the car into Chevron and it's still there. They had to order parts and today is Sunday, so it won't be ready until Monday. New Starter, new R&R Switch, big repairs = $400+ dollars. Apparently, it was a coincidence. But, my gut is telling me that it all seems like a load of bullshit -- my car, seemingly running fine before yesterday, just happened to fall apart, to unload, to bomb, to die right after, two minutes after, my Jiffy Lube experience?!? The moral of this story and all the other stories here on Yelp: Next time you have to do an oil change, drive to the Chevron station across the street. Whatever you do, steer clear of this Jiffy Lube! read more

Wow, this location is horrible! I could have blown out my transmission because these guys did not top off my oils! The last time they were 1/3 shy of the oil, this time they were 1 quart shy. I was indecisive about getting my oil change at this place or in Lakewood near my wife's jod on Monday. I decided to head over but never again!! I needed a signature service oil change plus a tire rotation. They told me they couldn't do the tire rotation because the lift wasn't working properly. I said OK just give me a signature service please. When I went to the counter to get a summary of the service done I set my sun glasses down. I wanted to pay close attention to what services were done. The person in the counter walked me out and I didn't realize I left my prescription sunglasses behind. I noticed my car windows were cleaned but I looked as though they used wd40 to wipe them clean. I had streaks all over. I decided to pay it no mind, but when I noticed my prescription sunglasses were left behind I headed back immediately. It was only a couple of minutes between me pulling out and going around the block and they were gone. REALLY!! I just pulled out!! Omg! Worst thing ever! I had to go and get a new pair. How is this possible. I would think that they appreciate their customers some what to put them in a safe place for me. Never again! I had to spend an additional $800 just by stopping by this place. If I can give it a zero star I would most definitely. Such a disappointment. Never again!!! read more

I've gotten my oil changed twice here. Most recently on the 6th of September. I used the coupon of yelp for 12 dollars off for the signature oil change. One thing that really bothers me is how they push to replace small things that aren't really in need of replacing, it's "recommended" but not necessary, and no isn't taken for an answer. They make it uncomfortable by constantly insisting and me constantly denying. I appreciate the info, but please just take no for an answer and leave it at that. What also bothered me was how when they were finished changing the oil, they moved my car to the front and just left it there for like 15 minutes... i actually didn't even notice until another customer who's car was also done complained that their car was done about 15 minutes ago and no one said anything. Their communication must really suck or they just don't care enough about the customers to get them in and out. Jiffy Lube is...alright.. if they say something needs replaced, just ask them to put it on the receipt and you check it out yourself. sometimes it's just about the $$$ read more

Today I took my 2005 Chrysler Crossfire SRT to the Jiffy Lube store for an oil change. According to the pricing posted behind the counter, the cost is $47.99 for a basic oil change that INCLUDES up to 5 quarts of oil and a filter. This car takes 8 quarts of special oil (Mobil European Full Synthetic 0-40) per manufacturers specifications which I brought with me. The store told me they no longer carry the oil filter and said i needed to provide that as well. They told me that the price would be $47.99 even though I was providing all the oil and filter. Further, before going I went onto their website, printed a $13 off coupon for a 'Jiffy Lube Signature Service Oil Change,' but the store said they wouldn't accept the coupon! Since this store didn't have an oil filter, I did not have the oil change. But under these circumstances I think that if I did the price should have been less than $35 with the coupon and providing the oil and filter. read more

This is a preemptive review in support of one of the mechanics, initials AS. A woman in here is currently yelling and carrying on about supposedly not being treated with respect because AS wasn't taking the time to explain to her what he was doing to her car. I can assure you, as a witness to the entire ordeal, that it was not AS that was being rude but this woman. Throughout the entire conversation she repeatedly interrupted him complaining about everything from how loud the music was to the fact that he was speaking too fast and being rude to her. When he apologized repeatedly and try to slow down to explain things to her she continued to complain and berate him for not being patient, when it's obvious that she was the one that was not being patient. After the young lady at the front desk took over and started explaining things to her she continued to complain very loudly. And when AS would come back in to deal with other customers she would start yelling at him again for being rude and impatient. Again, obviously it wasn't AS that was guilty of this. She continued to make a scene until the associate assistant manager took her outside. It made the other customers very uncomfortable as well and we all agreed that he wasn't being rude at all. Side note, when she first sat down she took one of the seats and used it as a Ottoman with her nasty barefeet up on it even when the place was busy because she "was tired". I think it's obvious that she's somebody with a ridiculous sense of self entitlement. She kept threatening to take her business elsewhere, & I bet everyone in there today wish she had. I've been using this Jiffy Lube for the last 5 years and I promise I will continue to. I've dealt with AS just about every single time that I've been here and he's always been very professional and kind. I do hope that this woman's actions has no negative effect on him. read more

I know this place doesn't have the best reviews, but I needed an oil change fast and I wasn't really expecting much in terms of service. Just change the oil and I'm good. As you can see by the 5 stars I gave them, I really had a great experience here. I came in this morning on a Saturday, they were pretty busy. The guy that greeted me first outside seemed like he was in a good mood and was joking with me, overall positive guy. Maybe he had a nice christmas? When I got out of my car to walk to the office, a female employee walked ahead of me to open the door for me. Very sweet and courteous. Once inside, I didn't have to wait too long, considering they were busy. Theresa, the one at the desk, was super cool. She explained everything about the services patiently. She asked if I had a coupon, and when I said I didn't, she still gave me 10 dollars off my oil change! In addition to that, she was just a very pleasant person to talk to. So yes, I had a fantastic overall experience here. I don't know about all these negative reviews, but maybe this Jiffy Lube is really upping their game. I went there to get my oil changed like I always do, BUT today they LIED to me when they told me that my dipstick was broken and they found the piece after they had already changed my oil. Which I know was not true because I had checked my oil before going there and my dipstick was fine AND when I first pulled up I told the guy I wasn't sure if I needed my oil changed and I remember him checking it right in front of me and then telling me the package to buy, SO HOW all of the sudden did it break before that...when it was fine when he checked it in front of me. When getting ready to leave they told me my dipstick was broken and according to them my dipstick was previously broken and the top part was completely snapped. I'm 100% positive they did it and it really disappoints me that they couldn't easily own up to it with good customer service and offer to replace mine. Especially if it's only a $10 item, I didn't argue with them because I had to go to work, but it was bullshit. Instead they told me to go buy a new one. It REALLY pissed me off and I will not be going back there. read more

Soooo I'm back. Unfortunately the worst thing to expect from a quick oil change happened..... THEY FORGOT TO PUT MY OIL CAP BACK ON!!!!! YES MY OIL CAP!!!! Sucks because I'm a loyal customer here. And so is my step dad and so is my mom. We've come here for years. I personally live in West Hollywood so I am not towing my car 14 miles back to the location to explain the problem. $ 70 towing fee out of pocket. There was oil ALL OVER my engine, the battery, the grills, the bottom of the hood looks like a disaster with burnt residue and to top it off leaking out onto the hood. How I noticed all this???! As I'm driving, smoke begins to come up from the hood of the car.. luckily I was 10inutes from home but could do nothing because all jiffy lubes in the areas close at 7.... most stressful situation I've been in regarding my car. My car is a classic 01 prelude. I really hope I am compensated for all this trouble. My Friday night and Saturday is going to be spent dealing with the situation.... this sucks so bad. read more

This is long overdue. I have taken my car to this place on several occasions for oil changes. The last time I did, I was informed that my cabin air filter needed to be replaced. This costs $$. I did not want to have to return if I needed to replace something that the car technician said needed to be taken care of immediately. He was waving a filthy filter to show me that it needed replacing. I took his word for it and authorize the service. When I came home and informed my husband that I had gotten my oil change and changed the cabin air filter, my husband informed me that he had it changed at the previous oil change and showed my his receipt. I was angry that I was lied to and ended up paying for an unnecessary service. Shame on them. You can bet, I no longer give them my business. read more
