This is me waiting for them to put my plate on for freeeeeeee so kind

These people are so kind I never think to go anywhere else because they always help me with my every need! I literally could cry they are literally so kind!

About 1/2 quart of oil staining my BFs driveway
    Janadel H.

Morning after (car was parked the other direction, noticed after I got back from an errand). Drain plug was about 1/4 turn from falling out! Lucky I didn't drive too far... lucky we noticed! You guys literally have 1 job...

    Coffee, tv, magazines

Went to get an oil change. These guys were busy, so it took about an hour before it was finally done. The staff were friendly, but not readily available for customers walking in or being serviced. I had to take the initiative twice to get attention of the mechanics to initially be seen and to check out. They did a good job. Oil change went smoothly. They have a small waiting room with some chairs, a coffee maker, a tv, and some magazines. It's enough.

I went to the Jiffy Lube on Havana and Florida for a full synthetic oil change. I specifically asked for new cans of oil. I just happened to look while they were doing the oil change, and noticed they had pulled it out of big white containers along the back wall. I asked if they were using recycled oil, when I asked for new oil. The guy, Adrian said, "We have new cans upstairs and don't use recycled oil, because our air conditioner runs on old Motor Oil". I said, "I asked for new cans of oil, not out of big container on the wall". I am paying over 100.00 for new oil and a new air filter. And I've never heard of an air conditioner that runs on motor oil. He replied that, "our policy is to use the oil in the big containers, we fill it up nightly with the cans from upstairs". Additionally, the receipt he gave me showed that they vacuumed by carpets, which they did not. It said they cleaned my windows, which they did not. It said they filled my tires to 40psi (the specs are supposed to be 35), but they did not do that either, my psi was 32psi when I left. I will never be back at this location. Especially when they can't be honest with people. The whole process just seemed shady.

After nearly three months of delays and almost $10,000 in costs, I had to tow the car and engine separately to another mechanic. After completing the work, the second mechanic found several problems with Kearny Garage's repairs, including improperly installed new heads that allowed coolant to leak into the engine and could have destroyed it. I received a canned response from Kearny Garage, also known as Sun Automotive, apologizing and offering to address the issue through a call to their 800-number customer service department. They offered no real support and instead threatened legal action, stating, "I appreciate your passion; however, defamation is not encouraged." The original Kearny Garage would never have allowed this to happen; if it had, they would have resolved the problem immediately. Don't be misled: Kearny Garage is no longer a neighborhood mechanic that puts customers first. It is owned by Sun Automotive, which appears focused on maximizing profits for investors. Its mechanics work on commission and, in my experience, cut corners whenever possible. Within a mile, you can find two honest, locally owned neighborhood garages. Hotchkiss Auto Repair on Colfax and Emick's Auto Service on Colfax and Jasmine. I now wish I had chosen one of these garages.

Basically feel like I was taken for at least $180 and up to $400 bucks. Quite the bummer as everything else about my experience was so good, I didn't even mind the $130/hr service rate. A shame. Something in my 2009 Nissan Versa blew up and ALL the warning and error lights lit up on the dash. Car would crank but not start. I thought it was probably the fuel pump but beyond my current ability to diagnose and repair. Had it towed to ATR. They were prompt in diagnosing and David called me to discuss the necessary part. I asked for aftermarket but by the price listed on the invoice they charged me OEM MSRP $486, which leaves me very disappointed. I found the same part for $355 on the NISSAN WEBSITE, $330 via simple Google search at local autoparts stores, and other aftermarket on Amazon and ebay for $50-$60. So, I could have literally walked or taken the bus two miles away to the auto parts store and saved $150, or ordered online and saved $400 bucks. Again, quite disappointed with this markup, especially given $130/hr service rate. They also found my one of my axles was leaking. He quoted me a full replacement of the axle but it turned out they could just replace the boot so it was quite a bit less than the quote when I got there to pay and pickup my vehicle. Sadly, overcharged for this part as well - paid $79, found on Nissan's website for $46, ebay for $36. Turnaround time was quick. Labor is $130 an hr as I mentioned, they have all the tools and knowledge to diagnose and repair so I don't have a problem with that rate, but the parts pricing thing is disappointing. (Oil change was $35 including oil and filter. Tire rotation for $16, reasonable.) The office is very clean and minimal.

By far, this was the worst experience I've ever had with a company working on my vehicle…read more I initially brought my car in because the check engine light came on. After running diagnostics, I was told the issue was related to a knock sensor misfire. Instead of recommending replacement of the knock sensor, I was advised to get a $600 tune-up in hopes that it would resolve the problem. I trusted their professional recommendation and agreed to the service. Unfortunately, immediately after the repairs were completed, my vehicle was still experiencing the exact same issue. I contacted the shop right away, but because it was late Saturday afternoon, I was told I would need to wait until Monday to bring it back in. When I returned Monday, I spoke directly with the manager and explained everything that had happened. He told me that if the issue turned out to be the knock sensor after all, he would cover the cost with no problem. We scheduled for me to return Thursday morning. On Thursday, after the technicians confirmed the knock sensor was indeed the issue, I explained that the manager had already agreed to cover the repair. However, I was then told that because the manager was unavailable, there was nothing they could do and I would need to come back again. When I returned Friday, the manager completely changed his position. He stated he could not cover the repair because, after speaking with the technician who originally recommended the tune-up, they decided it was simply a "process of elimination" to diagnose the problem. After wasting $600 on unnecessary repairs, I ended up taking my vehicle to Big O Tires. They replaced the knock sensor and informed me that I simply needed a Hyundai system update afterward. They also told me the tune-up I was sold was unrelated to fixing the actual problem. I feel completely misled and taken advantage of. I trusted their expertise, spent hundreds of dollars on repairs that did not resolve the issue, and then was given conflicting information and broken promises from management. I would strongly caution others before bringing their vehicle here, especially if you cannot afford to waste money on unnecessary repairs.
