****Being burned by Covert Cadillac (see review) made me rush and I did not read all the reviews or notice the obvious bot 5 star reviews about this particular place. Shame on me for that, but time was not on my side this morning. I will go to mom and pops from here on out. 15 minutes is what I was told but it took 35 minutes. I got an oil change and my tires rotated. Upon looking at the checklist, I noticed that the vacuum part was checked but my car was not. What is up with that? Small things... It was not busy, so that helped the time thing. It would have been nice to have more people in the bay when more customers showed up. I noticed this one guy kept going out of the main office a couple of times. Once to get his breakfast sandwich. Perhaps time would not be such an argument if everybody did what they were supposed to do. Friendliness is not a part of these folks day to day agenda, so that usually makes me not want to come back and experience it again. I will go to the one up north, where it seems they actually like having a job. The money that I spent and the amount of time it took, you could have at least done what you said you did. Customer service has always been great here. Never had a problem. Sure they like to upgrade you to the Synthetic Blend oil, but we've made so many advances in car engines & oil that the hybrid really is worth it in your car over the long run. Conventional breaks down faster & burns easier. Most of the extra services they offer aren't necessarily because they are trying to rip you off. It's because most people don't replace the wiper blades, air filters, etc in their cars. They offer to do it for you, at a premium price because it cost a lot for them to carry all that non-oil related stuff in the store. It's really a convenience charge for people who don't know how to do it or won't go to the dealer, where you will also get ripped off. If you want to spend less just go to the auto parts store when they are slow, ask the person what product to buy and how to install it. Chances are they will walk out to the parking lot and show you how. The guys have always been great. It is what it is, a great oil change shop that offers additional convenience services. Just say no if you don't want them. read more

I normally go to the William Cannon location, but was closer to this. I was wary because of some of the reviews, but decided to go out of convenience and because they honor competitor's coupons. I stopped in at 9:15 on Friday mornings and I Immediately got in for a high mileage oil change. Quoted at $67.99. I had a competitor's coupon which they honored. The service was fast and the crew (Dallas) was friendly. The manager, Rodrigues, took care of the coupon, built good rapport with me, answered a question I had (my car has 306k miles) and got me out quick. I will be bringing in my other car very soon. They told me it would be quick, they had one car ahead of me that was almost done. Over an hour later, I'm still here. I never remember Jiffy Lubes taking this long. I would have to say this is hands down the LONGEST I have EVER waited for an oil change at a JL. I also was quoted a wrong price, but they did honor it. On a positive note, I will say that this store has excellent customer service. I have been to this location before and had a horrible experience. I do feel like it is completely different now. There was practically no wait at all. They were very attentive and professional from the moment I pulled my vehicle up to the bay. I went there for an inspection and an oil change. I was able to sit in my vehicle while they did everything! They educated me on multiple concerns that I had with my vehicle. They were patient and friendly. Definitely going back with my moms vehicle! Shane, John, Ez, Wil and Marco were great! We all looked at my engine together, while they described what they were doing. I just finished reporting this place to the state inspector general for extortion. And I'm waiting for the national customer service department to open in the morning so I can report them there. Their inspector, Belton Jones, straight up asked for $30 "under the table" to pass my Honda for safety inspection. The ridiculous thing is, he said the parking brake didn't hold if he hit the gas. Well, if you gun a 6 cylinder engine with nothing but the parking brake on, it will move a little. Tires screeching and all. But, if you put the brake on and put it in gear while giving it a little gas it holds just fine. I've never been told this component didn't work. And, according to the state website describing safety inspection it passes just fine. The manager, Joshua S., did nothing to help the situation. Just said, "That's not what we do here." But clearly ripping off customers is just part of the game. Even if it's super illegal. What a hoax! read more

I brought my car in just minutes before closing time, but they were courteous, quick, and efficient with changing my oil. They would have gotten 5 stars but they nearly let me leave without re-setting the oil percent and turning back down the front panel light to where I had it set (it was so bright!). i have put off writing this review because initially i really thought that i had been taken for a ride. (in fact i wrote a blog about it stating "that's what the lube is for" or something to that effect) i'm used to having other people (men people) take my car in for any sort of work on it because i'm a sucker. well, i really, really, really needed to get my oil changed so i took my car in bright and early on a Saturday. the staff. very nice. i was the only one there so i got their undivided attention. they were very quick in all that they did to my car. (they did a lot of things) i went in for the $26 oil change and $154 later i had a lot of stuff done that i wasn't really sure i needed. i have since found out that all i did have done was all good stuff for the car, not essential, but good to do. i would rate it higher than 3 stars but i just cannot shake the feeling that if i was a man, i would not have had all the additional services presented to me. i almost drove off without the $50 windshield wipers i got (yeah, i know). but the guy noticed it and stopped me. so ummm 3 stars. yeah, i'd say 3 stars. read more

This location is close to my house so I have been in there a few times for an oil change. The level of service at this location is disappointing. I had to come here to make a review after my last visit, when I attempted to get a state inspection. I was the only customer waiting but just walked out after 10 minutes passed and they still hadn't pulled my car into the garage to get started. The people who work there do not have a knack for customer service, hustle or professional manner. For a place called 'Jiffy', it takes a lot for them to get going on things, all the while horsing around in the garage, smoking cigarettes and chatting with the manager in his office. I expect more from trained/licensed 'professionals' working in somewhat dangerous conditions on costly vehicle maintenance. read more

I have been a customer of Jiffy Lube for over 10 years now. Out of all the locations this one is by far the best. They have awesome customer service here. You will never get that "what do you want" vibe. They always greet you and walk you into the lobby. Who likes taking time out if their day to get maintenance done on their vehicle? It's just one of those things you have to do. This location is so comfortable that you won't mind waiting on your vehicle. I will not go to any other Jiffy Lube again! read more

I must say that Lenny makes me feel more comfortable at this location with his recommendations & advice. I went in to the Stassney Jiffy Lube in S. Austin for an oil change. $111 later I was finished & a bit miffed. I was told I needed a new filter & a new plastic oil plug. Then 2 other men began a conversation that included telling me that my TRUCK was made with so many plastic parts - it was ridiculous. Also, they mentioned the FORD company is tricking the consumer with this plastic parts that don't last. Of course, I am not an expert on any of this, but I am going to google the reliability of my vehicle. However; I felt like I was being led to believe I needed the 2 extra items I ended up paying for. Was it because I was woman? Did I look non-TRUCK savvy? IDK, but it felt that way. I would just suggest if you do go to this location, be sure to do a little research first so you don't happen to feel the same way. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. This place has been unable to do an inspection for the last month and they always have a difference excuse. In the beginning the machine was broken, they were booked solid, the tech was unavailable, and finally they admitted that they don't have a guy for inspections anymore. I came here for an oil change and they got me in and out pretty quickly. About a week later I needed to have my battery disconnected and then reconnected (because I messed up my radio code), so I swung back in and they accommodated me with no issue. I ended up waiting a long time for the simple procedure, and after about a half hour the manager apologized and said that the employee working on my car did what I asked and then "went to lunch without telling anyone" so I waited a bit longer than I needed to, but whatever. There was no charge for my weird battery request, and I was overall satisfied. However, I tried popping my hood shortly afterwards and discovered my latch was broken, bent the wrong way, and the thing that holds the hood up (support rod?) was almost ripped out of my car. I now understand why the employee left for lunch so abruptly. read more

I waited THREE hours to have the belts in my car changed, after both calling ahead and letting the employees know the prior day during an oil change that I would be back to have my belts replaced. Not once did anyone check in with me to let me know the wait time, nor did they apologize for the inordinate amount of time I was forced to wait. Came here yesterday after a terrible experience with the Walmart Tire and Lube center on East Ben White.The staff was friendly and accommodating at the Jiffy Lube. I waited two hours at the Walmart only to be told that my car wasn't even serviced because they didn't have the proper tools to change my oil. I came here and they took care of all my needs! The person I spoke with who I believe his name was Orlando was so sweet! He could just tell that I had had a horrible day so he made sure that I was well taken care of. The service was prompt and exceptional. I will never go anywhere else as long as I live in Austin and I WILL recommend this shop to my friends and/or anyone else in need of car maintenance. :) read more

An oil change is a relatively simple procedure. Drain the oil, replace the filter, replace the drain plug. If this is the core function of your daily business, it would seem a safe assumption that your team knows how to do this well. In an effort to save time and money from the dealership, I entrusted Jiffy Lube on Stassney with this job. About a week after the oil change, my car had a significant oil leak. Not considering it could be a connection to the basic oil change and because my vehicle is under warranty, I went to the dealership. They report the drain plug crush washer was improperly installed. Another oil change and cleanup of the undercarriage cost me over $100. Now to address the large stain in my driveway. Expensive lesson learned about the professionals at Jiffy Lube. read more

Awful experience. First the employee told me that they didn't do inspections and after some back and forth he agreed to inspect my vehicle. He then told me that I would need new windshield wipers to pass inspection, so I agreed to that but would later figure out that he never changed them. During checkout a different employee would charge me the wrong amount which I wasn't aware of until the manager called me the following day and cleared everything up. I rarely write reviews, but I was so Impressed by the manager at this location that I had to get on and say something. First.... A little backstory. For the last few years I have been going to various Jiffy Lube Locations around Austin due to the convenience the extra $10 dollars gives instead of messing with it myself, and I have had horrible experiences at nearly all of them. They try to sell me services I don't need (go ahead and upsell the customer on stuff they might need, but never offer me stuff I don't need and say that if I don't do it my car could break (I.E. Differential service that was done 20k mi ago,)) they broke the oil filler cap and refused to replace it ($7 I spent myself,) among various other little experiences that have turned me off (saying pressures, fittings, and fluid levels were checked and topped off when they most definitely were not, bc I always follow up and check them myself later.) I vowed to do it myself from there on out, which brings me to yesterday. Fresh oil. New Filter. I have all the right tools, and experience, to expect a 15 minute oil change out of my garage. Both the old gods and the new had different plans for me, however, as the oil filter was stuck on, and no amount of anything would get it off. I figure "Why not see if somebody at Jiffy Lube can get it off, since they were the ones who stuck it on there in the first place?!?" Roy, the manager on duty, said to bring it on in, and he would take care of me. So here I am, no oil in the truck, a crushed and leaking oil filter stuck to my motor, and no way to get my truck over to Jiffy Lube. I call Roy back to let him know there's no way I can make it there before they close, and what does he do? He comes to me in the pouring rain (if you were in Texas yesterday you know how hard it was raining,) to replace my oil and filter right there on the spot. When I say it was stuck, though, it was stuck. He had to go back to the shop to get a special pair of pliers in order to get it off, and even then it took nearly 10 minutes to do it. I have never, ever, seen this level of customer service, and he handled the entire situation with the poise and experienced feel that would please even the harshest critic. I will definitely continue to use the JiffyLube on Stassney, until experience prompts me to do otherwise, and Jiffy Lube most definitely needs to promote Roy, who just so happened to keep my old oil filter as a trophy from the battle he fought to get it off. read more

Went to get oil change and inspection. Verified with 2 employees that they could hold a spot for me in the inspection line while I got my oil changed. Two hours later, the manager told me that they never do that and that I would have to keep waiting. It was not crowded, but I ended up waiting almost THREE HOURS. I wish that this would have been communicated, rather than false promises. Overall, the workers were very nice, but the management is very disorganized and not at all interested in customer service. read more

I will forever be a Jiffy Lube customer because of Roy Rodriguez and the crew at this shop. After calling around to THREE different Jiffy Lube's in the Austin area to change the oil in our 24 ft Ford Chassis RV, Roy said YES. Not only that, he said if we didn't fit in the bay, he'd change the oil outside... Which he did... After running to Auto Zone to buy an oil pan. If that isn't top notch customer service, I don't know what is. The experience was such a fantastic one, and Roy was so helpful in explaining everything and taking care of our home on wheels, that he has solidified my faith in Jiffy Lube. He made sure I was taken care of, I went in for my usual oil change and a/c service. I wish I could give this place zero stars. Came in for a routine state inspection a few days ago. It took FOREVER (like, almost 1.5 hours). My car didn't pass because of the wiper blades. I asked if they could replace them, and they told me it would take ANOTHER 2 HOURS. I was going to have to go to the back of the line despite the fact they were looking at my car at that very moment. Unreal! I told them to forget it. I fixed the blades myself. So, I'm back today for the re-inspect (which should take all of 5 seconds) but is actually going to take them another hour! Throughout the entire process, the staff is just completely rude and you get the feeling they hate their customers. Avoid, avoid, avoid! read more
