The guy says they cant change my oil bacause my oil drain plug is stripped out. I told them I had my oil change done here last time. Quite smuggly they said that they have no records of it. I had the receipt from last time that I for some unknown reason brought with me. Oh sure sir? We will get it changed for you right now. When I went to get the defective oil plug they said they thru it in the oil tub so it was not able to retrieve it. I couldn't believe it. I suggest you get a computer system that doesn't take better care with customers data. Pretty questionable way to run your business. I wont be back, to many other similar services competitors for my dollars. There was a Check Tire pressure on my display. The guy want around and checked the air in my tires. If I could give 0 Stars, I would. Jiffy Lube has lost a customer for life. I got an oil change with them back in October (I know, that's almost a year ago, but bear with me). Apparently they noticed their was damage to my oil pan, which they noted in their internal system (NOT on my invoice). They proceeded to install a TEMPORARY oil plug INCORRECTLY on my car, WITHOUT telling me, and neglected to mention that my oil pan was damaged - part of me wonders if they were the ones that damaged it. My wife got a new job soon after that, and we started carpooling to work, so I didn't drive the car very often (we have two cars). If I had been driving it more frequently, I probably would have noticed a pretty good oil drain happening from my car. In June, I decided that it was time for an oil change. Since I wasn't driving the car very often (maybe once a week), it didn't need oil changes as often. On my way to get the oil change (at an NTB this time because they were running a deal), the oil light turns on and my engine starts making clunking noises. I make it to the NTB (less than a mile after the oil light turns on), and they point out the temporary oil plug was installed incorrectly. They recommend checking with a mechanic to see what can be done. I check with a mechanic, and they also point out the the temporary oil plug was installed incorrectly, and that I would need to get SERIOUS engine work done on my car ($4,000-$6,000 worth in parts and labor). I file a claim with Jiffy Lube, and they tell me their limited warrantee only covers 3,000 miles to 3 months (whichever comes first) after the service. My claim is denied, and they refuse to do anything for me. So now my car is totaled because of one bad oil change. Absolutely terrible. read more

AVOID - TOTAL WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY I dropped my car off here for an inspection and oil change last week. After "signing in" (also known as upselling), I told the attendant that I was going to get some lunch, and he said they would call when the car was ready. So, I ate my lunch, and wandered around the shopping center for about an hour, and decided to check in since I hadn't heard anything yet. I went in and asked the attendant if the car was ready, and he said yes, rang me up, and sent me on my way. On the way back to work, I noticed that there was no new sticker on the car. I thought that was odd, but then I thought that maybe it was with the paperwork they gave me. I got to work and looked at the paperwork, where I discovered that my car had failed inspection. That's right, I failed, and they didn't say a single word to me about it. So I took the car to my mechanic (who unfortunately does not do inspections), and he looked att he paperwork, and replaced the bad O2 sensor. I noticed on the paperwork that they would do another inspection for free if I brought it back with the receipt for the repairs, so I brought it back the next day. An attendant asked when I had the repairs done, and I told him, and he told me that the computer would have been reset, and that I needed to drive it around for a couple of days to complete the cycle. I brought the car back four days later, and they performed the inspection while I waited. The attendant told me that the computer was returning incomplete on some of the tests, and that I needed to drive it for about 50 more miles and bring it back. So, I brought it back today. I dropped it off and went with some coworkers to lunch. When I returned to pick it up, they hadn't performed the inspection. They told me that I had already used my free re-inspection and they would have to charge me to do another one. I told him just return my keys, then I told him that I'd been there four times, that the last guy made it seem like I wouldn't be charged for another inspection, and that they didn't even tell me that my car failed to begin with. The attendant couldn't have cared less. This location is convenient for me, but there is another lube place up the road, and sticker places all over town. It's a shame that a company as big as Jiffy Lube can't get their customer service act together. read more

Went for a simple inspection. The guy who rang me up told me I failed partly because of his fault and partly my car. He accidentally failed my gas cap. He also said they couldn't connect with the diagnostic tool which failed me on the emissions test. I drove up the road to another place and passed inspection with zero issues and they even encouraged me to go get my money back. They said the wrong dollar amount was on the invoice too. I came back and they did refund my money and were nice about it, however it was clear the person who did my inspection did not know what they were doing. I had a serious service issue with this location which I explained below about 8 days ago. The District Manager, Jerry, called me within 24 hours of submitting my complaint. He listened well, was extremely empathetic and took ownership of the complaint. He wanted his employees at that location to provide excellent customer service both working on cars and dealing with employees. He handled this complaint like a PRO and I will continue to go to Jiffy Lube due to his incredible customer service skills. I wound up speaking to the manager at this location and to say he was helpful was an understatement! He help us get exactly what we needed as my daughters car requires special attention. Another thing that put this experience over the top was the fact the he asked if I was a veteran. I'm not sure if he sense that I was from our extensive conversation or what. I brought my wife's car in for an oil change. The manager I think his name was Cody was wonderful. He let me know that I had a cabin air filter ( I didn't even know it) and he replaced it for me. It was filthy. He told me that my wife's car was overheating because the coolant was breaking down. I never even told him that it had been overheating. The manager was great. The other employees, not so much. Maybe it is just the area of town or the pay but some of those kids seem like they don't know their ear from their dog gone elbow. Great experience though. I used this JiffyLube last week for a quick oil change. Back in the good ole' days, chains/franchises meant that you could count on a certain consistency in services provided and goods sold. That eventually turned into chains/franchises meant you could get the product you were used to at a lower price than a local competitor but you were gonna suffer from the crap service. So that's my mindset when I walk into chain locations now (I'm looking at you, McDonaldsHomeDepotTGIFridaysWalMart). Imagine my surprise--nay, my shock!--that I got an oil change at the advertise price, no hassle with being pressured on up-sells, and it was done in under 25 minutes? It feels weird giving a chain a 4 star review, but I think my expectations are just that abysmally low that just delivering on what a company says they'll do is enough to make me happy. Imagine that. I took my car in on Saturday morning for an oil change and state inspection. They started right away with trying to sell me upgrades, windshield washers, etc ... and told me that the inspector wouldn't be in until 9. I said that I was fine, I would run over and grab breakfast. At 9:30 I returned and was told the inspector wouldn't be in until after 10. This is when I should have just taken my car to other location but I was already there. I waited until the LATE inspector showed only to be told their equipment was broken...REALLY, someone couldn't have told me that at 8?? They were rude and didn't seem to care one bit that I had been trying for over 2 hours to get my car inspected. In the 2 hours, they were able to change my oil and I had a coupon for $10 off which they refused to honor because they gave me (and everyone else) the managers special. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! I went here only because I had a coupon. I usually go somewhere else. The first thing I noticed was that the guys that worked there were scary looking. Some of them looked like they were in gangs. I doubt if any of these guys have a high school diploma. I got there early and pulled up and this guy starts to change my oil. A few minutes later, he comes inside and tells me that my maintenance schedule says I need a transmission flush. I knew he was lying because I checked my manual before and it did not say I needed a transmission flush at 30,000 miles. I tell him no that it doesn't and he starts to argue with me telling me that they will not be responsible if something happens to my transmission. Then he tells me I need a new air filter. Again another lie because I just changed my air filter a few months before. I tell him no that I just want an oil change and he walks out likes he is mad. So I get my oil change and I pay and leave. When I got home, I checked under the hood and find that he did not put the cover back on to the carbuerator. I assume this was payback since I didn't want the extra servcies that he said I needed. So I called the district manager to complain and was offered a free oil change. I told him I didn' t want it because I would never go back there again. I brought my car in on Saturday, September 22 for a state inspection and an oil change. The manager in charge told me that my transmission also needed servicing. When they finished, I was charged $144 for automatic transmission service. The problem? My car has a manual stick-shift transmission! At best, this was sloppy and grossly incompetent. I came in for an oil change a few months ago, their machine broke my plastic oil container and they didn't tell me. 3 months later my car is making a funny noise, I get a mechanic to check it out and find out oil had been leaking on my motor mounts and now they are shot. I have to say, I'm VERY surprised at the bad reviews for this place. I've been to lots of oil change places in Austin and over the last year or two this is the only place I take our cars now. Every time I've been there (around 8-10 times or so) all the staff are super friendly and communicative, the prices are fair, and they get the job done and get you back on the road quickly. While I waited in the lobby for a quick 20 minutes with cars ahead of me, I watched a particular employee. Jason was opening doors for whoever came and left the establishment and seemed genuinely sincere in trying to promote the donations for the MDA. I normally use a different jiffy lube location, where the staff is friendly and efficient- i expected the same when I came to the location at parmer and mopac. The person who first approached me had a name tag that said "jason, manager" and he was incredibly rude. I was strongly considering just leaving when a young man named DJ stepped in and was helpful and friendly. I have to wonder how they selected the manager for this location. I should have read these reviews before taking my car in. If I could give a half a star, I would. Do not... I repeat... DO NOT bring your car here for a State Inspection. I brought my car in on a Friday and it failed. I was told it was a sensor issue and to drive it around, which I did. I returned on Sunday and the Inspection Guy was not there. Not there? wtf? Where's the backup? I returned on Monday, took the test and it failed again. i was told to continue driving the car. I returned at 12:30 (same day) and was told the Inspection Guy was at lunch and would return at 1:00. I sat in the nice comfy chairs and at 1:15 I was told the Inspection Guy would not return. Wow. They told me to go to the Jiffy on Lamar and that I would not get charged. I go to Lamar and they were actually very helpful. I found out that after 1 failed inspection the State of TX only allows 1 free one afterward. Great, that would've been nice to know, apparently the mechanic who sent me here had no idea of this policy. All in all, the staff is nice, and they have really comfy chairs in the waiting room, but don't let that fool you. Most of the time the staff is just standing around, shooting the sh!t and obviously uninformed when it comes to TX state policies. They're not dependable and need better communication between themselves. They need Inspection Guy backups. How can they only have 2 people trained in running State Inspections? Complete waste of $$ and time. Take your car to the Firestone next door, they know their stuff and have plenty of friendly, informed staff that can help. read more

I went here for an oil change because every other place denied me due to my key getting stuck in my ignition so they were unable to drive it in the work area of course these dummies here allowed me to... i got my oil changed paid 40 damn dollars for the shit for NOTHING. I've had my vehicle for well over a year, never had any issues. I got my oil change February 3rd, on my way home I noticed my vehicle was shaking when I picked up speed by the time I get home it was too late to go back because they were closed. The next day I had an emergency and had to go pick up my daughter, my vehicle was STILL shaking I could not figure out what was wrong. Of course I come straight back home, my fiancé told me he was going to drive it back up there and have them look at it. Before we know it, my vehicle is shaking uncontrollably and we end up sliding and when I look up my tire is about 20 feet away from my vehicle with parts everywhere & a screaming one year old in the back seat! My tire is completely BUSTED & my car is sitting on 3 wheels! I called the next day and the bitch ass manager had the nerve to tell me I hit something now I done hit a lot of shit in my life and my tire has NEVER flew off my damn car. So I had someone check the air in my tires, my damn tire pressure is on fucking 55!!!!!! Mind you these dumb asses put air in that same damn tire and have the fucking nerve to tell me they aren't liable! Thank God we are still alive and weren't on the high way or a busy road! I was kinda upset when they increased the price of the oil change so much... but all you have to do is look online for coupons. you can go to www.heartlandjiffylube.com and print out a $10 off coupon. I stick to just getting an oil change, and they do try to upsell you on everything... but they're just trying to make money like every other business. They guys working were really nice but not very receptive. When I pulled up they took my information as usual, placed a dirty throw away paper mat on my floor and didn't think to use the plastic seat cover that was literally 5 feet away from him as required. What's the point of having plastic seat protection and new paper floor mats if you are not going to use them on the customer? He gets in my truck and pulls it forward. I then noticed that his uniform is extremely soiled so the plastic seat cover would have helped. He pops my hood and starts to check all of my fluids and does a walk around of my vehicle. My windows were already rolled half way down before I pulled in but when the attendant begin to wash my windows he didn't have the common sense to roll the windows back up so that he could wash the entire window rather that just the half's he did. Very strange and lazy. So they complete the work and I cash out. Another soiled uniform attendant hops in and drives my vehicle out of the bay. He compliments my truck and states "this is a very nice and clean truck", I say thank you and proceed to get in. But then notice that my seat is now dirty, steering wheel has oil on it and oiled hand prints all over my hood and grill from them not keeping my truck "clean". I would suggest if you go to this jiffy lube make them treat your car with the TLC it deserves, especially if you just hand washed it (like I did) before hand. read more

These guys are scam artists/thieves. Im left with a $2000 bill to replace the lifters on my vehicle because these guys pretended to change my oil, but didn't actually add any oil to my vehicle. Had no problem taking my money though... I still had another month to go before an oil change was needed according to my window sticker but the vehicle started making a pinging noise so I went to a different oil place. They called me out to show me the color of what little oil they could find because it was so old (I had been going to Jiffylube the past year). Basically black with no hint of oil color. I go here every 5k miles to get an oil change (yes I know their sticker indicates 3k but go by your owner's manual) and have never had a problem. They get you in and out with good service. This is just my opinion and an account of what I experienced at this location... Been here a couple of times because of it's convenient location - however, the location is the only thing convenient about it. I got my vehicle inspected here yesterday - posting this review now because I needed time to research the situation, but wasn't surprised at what I found. I asked that they not mount the inspection sticker on the windshield because Jiffy Lube only believes in giving their people a razor blade to work with. They can't invest in a bottle of Goo Gone so they leave a lot of glue residue behind so that the next sticker to go on looks like crap. I fully expected him to scrape the current one off so that it was destroyed and send me home with the new one so that I could properly remove the residue of the old one. I even explained this to him. I was told that to send me home with an unmounted sticker was "against their policy" - so now we have the law enforcing Jiffy Police? When I said that didn't sound right and that the state has no problem sending me home to mount my own registration sticker so how could it possibly be written in the law that an inspection sticker has to be mounted by the issuer, they suddenly got very rudely aggressive and tried to convince me that the importance of the two stickers varied so drastically that the law was in fact, written this way. After some research, I have discovered that there is no such law that says whoever issues the inspection sticker has to mount it. Not only that but anyone who was already issued an inspection sticker can go to a "DPS challenge/waiver station" and have a new sticker issued - at which time they are issued on the spot and - you guessed it - sent home with the vehicle owner to mount on their windshield themselves. Regardless of what their "store policy" is, they don't have a legal leg to stand on to enforce it. read more

The employees at this location were friendly and helpful; however, the pricing for an oil change was higher than what I am used to paying. A good oil change should be priced around $40.00 and mine was at least $20.00 over my usual price. If several hot guys had not gathered around my car to complete the service, I would have gone somewhere else. Additionally, watch for up selling at this location as they did attempt to offer additional services at checkout. read more
