I have only ever had bad experiences here. I would avoid this place at all costs. Employees are rude and pathetic. They don't treat your cars well. I had an employee casually lose the nut bolts of my car and shrug off and walked away. Just got my inspection done by Dylan. He didn't close my hood. I noticed it rattling while driving down 35! Would NOT recommend this location for ANY service. Paid in cash and the manager was going to give me 50 cents in pennies. Horrible customer service. I got the number to the district manager and no answer and his mailbox is full...wonder why. I have tried to go four times this week for a state inspection. The first time they told me that the inspector was out that day, come back tomorrow any time. Came back the next day and, after waiting twenty minutes, was told the inspector already left. Came back the next day and was told the inspector just left but would be back in an hour. So, an hour later I try calling and had to call 4 times (each time the line rang for almost 2 minutes) before someone picked up. I was told they were now very busy but could probably get me in quickly. I drive over and I'm told it'll be an almost 2 hour wait to even be seen. Their inspector apparently operates on his own hours so there's no way of knowing when he will be there. I would say call ahead, but it's impossible to get someone on the phone. My Engine light came on shortly after, and when I took my car to the mechanic the following Tuesday, he told me that I needed an oil change ASAP. I told him I got one from Jiffy Lube a few days ago, and he said that Jiffy Lube is known for charging customers for services and not actually doing them. Gets snappy at me when I try to pay before hand and tells me he doesnt know anything about my car. Theres a system right in front of you bud. I know they try to sell you more things when you come in for a service. I do not want that. Just the service. He tells me I can take my car somewhere else because they don't have the time. The workers at this location are not very friendly. I'm not sure if it's because it's early in the morning or what, but that's besides the point. Customer service should always be a thing. If you don't like working early morning find another profession or come in later. I notice the now hiring ad in the window. They do not clarify the times that inspections are done until you waste your time and gas coming up there at 7AM just to be told that inspections aren't until 11AM. I was also just told that it's first come first served. There are too many other places in Austin that do inspections so I will find another location that would be happy to take my money. I will not be returning back to this particular Jiffy Lube again. I will travel across town and go to one on that side. read more

Had to get an oil change and they straight up broke my bug deflector. I told the manager and he said: "that's how it was before you got here" I said I don't think so because I can see it every time I drive my truck. He replied: "do you see the piece anywhere around here?" And I said of course not, is probably in the trash by now..... and the conversation escalated from there. The technician who performed the oil change didn't even came out from the back. And I even told the manager that there was an oily hand print right by where he had broken the bug deflector. Had the oil changed on Jeep Grand Cherokee this morning. When I gave them the keys I asked them to fill the tires and rotate them as well. I was told they don't have the appropriate tools to rotate the tires because a Jeep Grand Cherokee is too big of a car. Seemed odd and it's pretty standard as far as SUVs go but I said okay. After the oil change they told me they didn't add any air because the tires were already too full. When I asked what the tires SHOULD be at they said 35. The tires were at 65. I asked if they could take air out of the tires since they were WAY too full and they said I would have to take them to a dealership "or something" because they don't have the necessary equipment to do so. I asked if the tires could pop or if anything could happen if they are too full and they said "no you're fine there's nothing wrong with it just when you go to the dealership let them know the tires need some air taken out" then they recommended I ask to have Nitro put in because it lasts longer. When I brought the car home my boyfriend was livid that I had been played for a fool. He took an aux cord out to the car and showed me how easy it is to let air out. And how dangerous it can be to drive around in a car with tires THAT overfilled. I find the service of letting me drive away to be negligent on their part. And lazy. When I look at my receipt they logged that my tires were at 35 PSI. A complete and total lie. Knowing how lazy their work was, I'm very concerned they also didn't change my oil filter, check my windshield wiper blades, or check any of the other filters and fluids as they stated they did on this receipt. I'm livid. Patricio LIED about the quality inspection and LIED on this receipt. And Kevin E., who supposedly did the work was too lazy to actually do the services paid for with the oil change. This is terrible work. Terrible. Not worth it to pay money only to have to take car somewhere else and pay that money again to have the service done correctly. Waste of time and money and I recommend going anywhere else. Would give zero stars if I could. read more

I've used this Jiffy Lube for oil changes and inspections over the years. They are a busy location but if you go early when they first open or right before closing it's in and out with friendly service. In my experience if my car will fail inspection they tell me before they charge which is always nice. read more

Went in to get my battery changed thank god the battery was actually changed but one of the terminals was loose, didn't plug in my battery sensor, nor was the bolt tight on my positive wire connected to my terminal. It wasn't even busy just sloppy work :( read more

So I roll up at 7:30am on a Saturday. I had a NOLA road trip planned and before I headed out, my car was in desperate need of an oil change & tire rotation. I walked out at 9:00am with service completed. They were short handed that morning (whatcha gonna do when folks call in...it happens)....and I know that rotating the tires was going to take longer for them to get through and they had a line of cars already. I decided to wait for the tire rotation because I had the time. It did take a bit over an hour for my car to be in queue to start the servicing. But I knew what I was walking into, so that didn't bother me. An oil change (top off fluids, wash windows and vaccume seats) ran $89. Tire rotation ran: 21.99 Engine air filter replaced: 29.99 Grand total came to: $132.75 The guy who was greeting most folks and checking them out was really courteous and nice. You could tell he had a good heart. And I know he was trying to call in reinforcements of staff to come in, but I can only imagine how hard it is to get employee to roll in on a Saturday morning. Chronic staffing problems plague this business. Always call first to find out if you can get service that day (if they will even pick up the phone.) I left my car for several hours (pre-pandemic) and shortly before closing was told they were not able to state inspect my car. Ridiculous. Another time I was told the inspector could not get into my pick-up truck because of their back problems. Uh, just how many pick-up trucks are there in Austin? As with any oil change business, realize the $___ price they advertise for an oil change is only for the cheapest 30 weight oil (great if you drive an old Edsel) but is not good for most late model cars and trucks which have specific viscosity ranges. You must also pay for a filter and considerably more for multi viscosity and synthetic oils. Also beware of bogus upselling like: engine cleaning treatments, radiator flushes (needed only after at least 50,000 miles) and other snake oil engine additives. In fairness, not all my experiences have been bad here, just enough to make me look elsewhere from this business just down the street from my home. read more

I arrived at the location this morning where a guy was holding the sign that said no wait. Pulled in there were 5 cars ahead of me. I told him to put that sign down because it was false advertisement. Went back 2 hours later I was 1st told I was behind the brown truck, then received an apology saying it was the white car. Sat and waited, watched a Lexus pull in off the street park next to me then they called him next. I told the Latino guy that I was next. He stated I didn't see you as if I were not yelling the truth. I called to ask what the manager and regional information was and noone seems to answer the phone. Not only is the customer service shitty, but don't tell someone to ride further up to only find out that that location is closed. Know your stores. Stop having shitty service AND PULL IT TOGETHER. So...in the past week, I've been to this place 3 times. Once for an oil change and 1st attempt at a car inspection. The oil change was fine I suppose. The only issue was apparently they had a new staff member doing it by themselves and it took them way longer. Even though I was 2nd in line, 2 other people who came in after me were finished and checked out before me. Heh. It happens. I was also told that they were not doing car inspections (it was a Sunday) that day. So I did the oil change and thought I could get the inspection done later in the week. I've attempted 2 other times this week to get my car inspected here (it is the closest inspection station to me) only to be told each time that there is no one on staff that can do an inspection. 2 Thoughts... 1) If you don't have anyone to do these inspections, maybe consider not being an inspection station. 2) If you only have one staff member trained to do this and they aren't there during the hours you advertise, train more staff to do this. It took an hour and a half before my car was finally finished and nobody came and talked to me about it until I was standing up wondering what was going on. There were people who had come in after me to get an oil change and left before I did. Terrible service will not be returning back not for an hour and a half wait for a car inspection. Why would you not be able to drop your vehicle off to get an oil change? Quite possibly the dumbest thing I've ever heard.

I told my boyfriend not to do it. I told him. I warned him. But nooooo. It's so convenient. It's right next to our apartment. It's just an oil change and an air filter replacement. It'll be fine. No. It was NOT fine. It was no where NEAR fine. We go in on Saturday for an oil change and a fuel filter replacement. Oil change, no problem. Fuel filter? They don't have the part. Come back on Monday or Tuesday and we'll put it in, it'll take 15 minutes. So Tuesday afternoon, while my boyfriend is at work, I take his car back to Jiffy Lube to get the fuel filter replaced. It's 6:00pm. At 8:00pm (YES TWO HOURS LATER) a "mechanic" comes out with the fuel line in his hands. "Well miss, your fuel line is rusty and has holes in it. It's leaking. We're going to have to replace it." At this time I am so irritated and tired and hungry that I mumble ok. "We're going to go see if O'Reilly's has the part." More of me mumbling. 30 minutes later, the wonderful Jiffy Lube "technician" comes back, no part to be seen. Jiffy Lube: "Well, O'Reilly's didn't have the part. We're going to have to get it from somewhere else tomorrow." Me: "Can you put the old one back? How am I supposed to get home?" Jiffy Lube: "Yo, YO FELICIA! FELICIA! CAN YOU GIVE THIS GIRL A RIDE TO HER PLACE?!" Ok, I don't know if her name was Felicia. I get a ride home from some stranger. Luckily, she didn't kidnap me. Though, I almost wish she would have after what ensued after this. (The next morning, due to the wind/power outages, I end up waiting another two hours for a cab. And drop my boyfriend's debit card in said cab. And then it gets stolen. CURSE YOU JIFFY LUBE.) Later that day, my boyfriend accompanies me back to Jiffy Lube. I wait in the lounge. And then I hear my boyfriend yelling, "WHAT DO YOU MEAN IT WON'T START?!" Hmmm. Yeah. Not good. Then ensues an argument with the "mechanic"-- and eventually the District Manager shows up. My boyfriend asks why they took out the fuel line in the first place without asking first, DM says it's part of the fuel filter, my bf asks why the car isn't starting, the DM doesn't know... And then, this is my favorite part. DM: Well you know what, we can just put it back in if you didn't want us to take it out. Me: WAIT. TIME OUT. You can put it back in? Last night we couldn't put it back in. I had to get a ride home with Felicia and was two hours late to work because I had to wait for a cab and my boyfriends debit card got stolen because you couldn't put it back in. YOU ARE FIXING THIS CAR. At this point my wonderful boyfriend doesn't even want them touching his car since it's not running because of their awful "mechanic" skillz. Finally we agree to let the DM try to fix it, and if he didn't fix it by the next morning, he would tow it to a REAL CERTIFIED MECHANIC and get a rental car for us. You notice I say "real certified mechanic," this my friends, is because Jiffy Lube Technicians are not mechanics. They only do "preventive maintenance." WHICH IS WHY YOU SHOULDN'T GO THERE. And yes, one of the mechanics actually told us this information. Not the "shouldn't go there" part, but the not a real mechanic part. Anyways. I finally went and got the car back this morning. Five days after originally bringing it in. The DM told me the reason the car wouldn't start was because the car was out of gas. Ha! Really? Because it has half a tank dude. He told me my gas gauge might be broken. I told him it would only be broken if he was the one that broke it. I am now keeping an eye on the fuel gauge. If it is broken, I am going to burn down the Jiffy Lube building. Look for me on the front page. (Kidding. Please don't call the cops on me Jiffy Lube.) He tried to charge me for the parts, and gas they put in the car... I told him that the money I had to spend on the cab to get to work, plus the inconvenience of being two hours late to work, and the fact that it took FIVE DAYS to change a fuel filter paid for the parts. He also told me that the labor that went into fixing it ran about $200-$300. And at that point I just took the key and walked out... read more

Please do NOT go here! I could have DIED as a direct result of the "work" they did on my car. Here's what happened: I went to this Jiffy Lube two days ago to get an oil change and tire rotation. After the tire rotation, the LUG NUTS WERE NOT SCREWED BACK ON TO MY DRIVER SIDE WHEEL!!! Yes, you heard that right...they gave me my car back to drive off the lot with A COMPLETELY LOOSE WHEEL!. As the car sounded funny, I made a U turn and was on my way back to Jiffy Lube when MY ENTIRE WHEEL FELL OFF ON THE STREET, resulting in my car falling onto the axel and causing major damage to my car. Luckily, I'm ok physically, but my car is certainly not!! This gross negligence is HORRIFYING! I was told by the manager that the person who did my rotation was a new hire and he should have double checked his work. Who in the world doesn't know to screw lug nuts back on after a tire rotation?! I could easily have DIED!! Perhaps related -- the very strong stench of marijuana I noticed in the bathroom after using it after one of the employees did. Obviously, they are going to have to pay for the repairs. However, I have zero compensation for my emotional distress and time spent dealing with insurance and getting my car repaired, etc. Not to mention, this will likely affect the resale value of my vehicle. I went in for an oil change, having seen a sign up recently for a $19.99-er. Foolishly, I forgot to ask the price ahead of time. When it came time to ring me up, they charged $41 and change. Then they tried to sell me on a new air filter for $20 (when it was clearly not in need of replacement) and a radiator fluid replacement for $70, but because they were feeling nice they'd give me $15 off the whole deal. Forget about it! I could admit to being dumb once, so I paid for the oil change, but I won't go back there for that or any other service! The workers were rude and insulting. I went home and got my dad to teach me how to change out radiator fluid for the price of my gas to his place and two $6.99 things of antifreeze! read more

I have consistently had terrible service here. I got my car inspected here last year and it failed. They told me a specific part of my headlight I needed to buy, and once I installed it that my car would pass and it would be fine. I purchased the part and it was still not working. I took it to a mechanic and it was a fuse, nothing more than that. Today I attempted to get my car inspected. They told me 45 minutes to an hour. After TWO HOURS they still hadn't even started on my car. When I asked how much long it would take they said fifteen minutes, that their printer was down so they couldn't really do inspections (also very evident the man doing the inspections could not work I see pressure and had no idea what he was doing--running around, saying his boss wasn't there and that he didn't know what to do with the printers down, all while a bunch of cars are waiting). Wouldn't the most appropriate, good customer service, common sense thing to do be to cease all inspections, apologize, and guarantee a speedy one to be completed tomorrow? Two and a half hours later the technician finally agreed to give me back my keys and I left, with no inspection completed! The woman in front of me was STILL waiting (3+ hours) after they told her it could her tail light that failed, but that they couldn't guarantee it wasn't something else (since they couldn't complete it) and demanded she still pay her fee. New to Texas so I needed an inspection to get my title and registration. Got the vehicle inspected but I was then told that the printer was down and I needed to come back the next day. I wasn't sure why that would require a full day but I obliged. I come back the next day and I was given the exact same explanation and that a whole new printer needed to be purchased. I wasn't even given an apology; only "it's not our fault" and some attitude. I was patient enough to wait a day later for a small issue and wasn't even met with understanding.
