I bought a Groupon for a $20 oil change. As soon as I pulled up, the gentlemen asked me if I am passed due for an oil change (which I wasn't) and tried to convince me the car takes synthetic. He argued with me for about 5 minutes and the conceded. They also tried to sell me air and cabin filters. The Groupon didn't cover tax so we ended up paying $5 and change on top of the Groupon. I give this place ZERO stars, don't take your car here. I had to pay $157 for an oil change and a new cabin air filter. The cabin air filter that they put in, they installed completely upside down and backwards.... There is literally arrows that point to the correct direction it's supposed be placed in. There is also words stating the direction and yet they still put it in backwards and upside down. Then to put the icing on the cake, the man running the desk extorted a 10 dollar tip (even though he never even touched my car) out of me by proclaiming he would take a small percentage off of the bill...... If 1 oil change and 1 cabin air filter change costed 157 dollars... do explain to me what percentage was taken off of the bill... nothing, therefore he extorted money out of me. I'm such a kind person that I gave him the ten dollars, even though I knew there was no percentage being taken off, because I thought they were being pretty cool... Up until I took my car to the dealership, where they discovered the cabin air filter being put in wrong... I had to pay the dealership to put a brand new one in THE RIGHT WAY. Another Jiffy Lube, in Tampa, changed my oil and was supposed to add coolant. Within 20 minutes of driving back to Clearwater, my car started overheating again. I pulled into the Clearwater location to ensure the 1st location actually did what I paid for. That was when I received the scare tatic: * I need to pay for a flush * I needed new equipment * etc. "If you don't, then your car will continue to overheat". What he didn't know was that I used to sell radiators. I passed on it, came home and did my own thing of adding a 50/50 mixture. This was months ago and I have not had a problem. Not only did it take 1.5 hours when I was the 3rd car in line, but they finally called me up to pay and they used conventional oil instead of synthetic! Terrible service. I came to this location for an oil change and was able to get about a block away before my car started acting up. It started sputtering and then died. It started back up but was running so bad I couldn't drive for fear of messing up my car more. I was on a frontage road and had to have help along with my husband to push the car off the road. Jiffy sent their mechanic and he could t figure out what was wrong so they drove it back to the shop. Now here we are at the shop hour 2 and the mechanic keeps going between my car and another customers. The mechanic just looked at my Husband and said at first he thought it was the O2 sensor but they think it's more than that. No one has spoken to us to tell us what's the deal and to make matters worse is we have a 2500 mile drive coming up in 4 days. This place seems ethical to me, they vacuumed my car cleaned my windows, topped off the tires, changed my brake light for basically cost and got my oil changed with synthetic. They did it quickly and overall in and out in 15 mins. For additional info here is my personal input. Listen I get that this place recommends services and tries to up sell. I was a mechanic for years and understand where they are coming from. I don't always agree with this type of service as sometimes it's off miles and not physical inspection. But spend a little time and learn about your car. Some of what they recommend is actually worth the money and is preventative maintenance. That being said clearly I know when it's time to do services on my car. They made recommendations I picked what was right and what wasn't. I wasn't pressured at all. From a personal basis, when I ran our shop I have had customers that buy what they need and customers that think every word out of my mouth is to make money. I guess it has to do with their economics or bad past experiences with mechanics. My professional opinion is this place is exactly what it should be. A quick service center that does what the do well and recommends preventative services. My synopsis is They could do more inspecting before recommending off miles. If I could give them a zero I would. I've been to Jiffy numerous time & they always try to sell you sometime you don't need, I always pass. This time my "rear differential was dry". This would be a $100 charge, $99 & change. I passed again. I had a friend check it & it was find. I had a $20 off coupon for the $44.95 oil change & it still cost me $30 & change, because my truck takes extra oil. I called the corp office to complain about the rear differential sales pitch & the oil change because my differential level on my receipt said "level ok" They said they "topped it off" ummm, it was dry & needed a complete overhaul. They were going to refund me the extra oil because I was never told how much anything would cost but they was only $2. Looking at all the bad reviews, they'll need it worse than I. I had an my oil changed a week ago, and a few other times here in the past. The guys were quick and did a good job each time. I've had a couple other services done here as well and no problems with the work or customer service. Even with the company trying to push a bunch of products on the consumer, the shop lead did a good job with no pressure suggestions. I went here. Ended up paying 80 bucks for an oil change even with a 20 dollar coupon.. Said they changed the filter and the oil. Drove 2 miles parked it overnight. Got up to go to Tampa truck had no oil. None. Nothing on the dip stick. Made them come out replace filter and add oil. Now my truck is making a bad noise and driving poorly. I dont know what they did to my truck and the more I drive it the worse it gets. Who knows if I'll even have a truck left cause I dont have a clue. It wasn't making this noise and shaking before I brought it to them and why so much money for just an oil change. Nothing more. I wouldn't even waste my time coming here unless you just don't want a vehicle anymore. To make it worse my dad just died and left me this truck. I am disabled and its the only transportation I have. Watch out! Don't fully believe that the auto check here as a result, it is possible that cheating, I according to the requirements of the replacement car parts, but when I second time here oil change this part was to detect the problem, I told staff that I here five months ago to detect the problem and then replace, the staff told me, that you don't need to replace parts this time, but this computer detection still display unit has a problem! I don't know if I can trust the computer detection here! Also once I changed 5000 MPH oil, but the staff told me to run a 4000 - MPH will need to come back here to replace oil, labels and write a 4000 - MPH change, now I have to go somewhere else, no longer believe in here! read more

When I went to pay they refused to give my full discount (I have never had a problem with groupon and had asked TWO different staff at jiffy lube before they worked on my car if they would.) the worst expeience ever. i was supposed to go to a wedding 6hrs from here. earlier that day i went for an oil change,by the time time i hit tampa there was oil everywhere and my car was hesitating to start. come to find out they never changed my filter or my seal. they closed the top so tight my mechanic could not get it off, which broke the old seal and caused my oil to explode everywhere. now i have engine problems from driving on it without knowledge. when i contacted them, they said they would send a mechanic out to confirm their mistake which they never did. they said i wasnt there which i was the entire time. i recommend never taking your vehicle here, the people changing the oil arent even licensed mechanics. read more

GROUPON BUYERS BEWARE! Bought the Groupon for $19, as soon as I pulled up the first words out of my mouth were "I have a Groupon" to which I got a "no problem" and was told to leave the car and go inside to get taken care of. I readily assumed that they new the package I had purchased and got working on the car right away. Five minutes into the process I was called out by Danny (seemed to be the guy in charge) who proceeded to tell me he didn't have 10w40 and I had a choice between 5w20 or the High-Mileage 10w30 so considering the age of my car (a 98) I asked him what he recommended and he said the 10w30. Not once did he mention any extra costs during the process and although he continuously attempted to up-sell other services I graciously declined. I went back inside to wait and a few minutes later Danny came back in with an authorization sheet requiring my signature to continue with the oil change. As I looked at it the final price read $82.00 to which I immediately balked and reminded him that I had a Groupon to which he abruptly replied "well then its going to be 39.95 off of that price" in an annoyed manner. I told him I was not going to pay for anything over the Groupon price and he began to yell at the guys working on the car to not put in the high mileage oil and just use "regular" and walked out without ever addressing me again or apologizing. In the end I still paid for the taxes (which I had no problem with) and left a tip for the guys working on the car because I saw them do a thorough job but as a long term Groupon customer I don't appreciate a company utilizing such a great medium to practice the ole Bait-and-Switch. My advice, announce out loud that you have a Groupon and that you will not pay anything above that. Period. read more

I am new to the area and went here because this place had good reviews. I took my LR3 for a simple oil change and they tried to upsell a power steering flush (150.00), serpentine belt replacement (119.00), and rear differential service (200.00). I am a woman, and I felt as if they were trying to take advantage of that fact, as well as me being new to the area. I maintain my car regularly and I knew immediately that these service suggestions were completely unnecessary. Well, $125 later.... yes, $125!! They charged me $50 for a $10 air filter for my cabin and $40 for a $17 engine filter...... yeah WON'T GO BACK TO ANY JIFFY LUBE AGAIN! Ok let's start out by there interview process! I was just out surveying the field to see what opportunities were out there. So I received a call from the district manager Tyler and I explained to him that I have over 15 years experience in the automotive industry and I was a district supervisor for a major lube company in the past, and that had no intentions of coming back to the lube industry unless it was full blown management. He understood and said he wanted to schedule an interview with me. I get to the interview and meet with the store manager Jason and his assistant Dennis. (First red flag! Why would I meet with a store manager about a managers position not a district manager?) we then proceed with an interview! He could not answer any questions regarding salary and when I asked him what stores were available for management he said I would be working at his location with him.(2nd red flag. Why would I be working with you at your store unless it's a quick train to send me to my own store)and spoke VERY broken English. Then proceeds to tell me that he has been the manager there for 21 years. (There's a reason for that. its cause the company sees no opportunity for you to Advance to the next level.) Then at the end of the interview his assistant shakes my hand and says "peace out" hands down the most unprofessional interview I have ever in-countered. If you want a fast oil change great but in all honesty I wouldn't let one of these guys touch one of my Snap-On wrenches to change a starter! read more

I use to like this place... but they ruined all of that today. I Went in for what was supposed to be a $ 29.95 oil change, only to find "that special didn't apply to me today" ??? So I let them talk me into a $49.95 oil change (OK cause I was already there...), After they had drained my oil, the guy comes back to tell me that "my car requires a special oil - and my oil change would cost $79.95 - (for a simple oil change ??? ). Anyway... I felt pressured as this was my 1st oil change in my new car, so I agreed... I didn't know better, and trusted them as the experts. Instead, they were experts of ripping me (and I'm sure the rest of their Senior customers off (assuming we're stupid and won't know) !!! After fees and taxes, I was out $84.00 for an oil change. I left feeling stupid and abused, only to call my dealership to find my car requires no "special oil".. that was all a complete lie. I know I got lied to and ripped-off, and I will NEVER go back to Jiffy Lube off of Old Coachman at Hyw. 19, in Clearwater... and they deserve a BAD review. I complained and area manager called me to apologize after I told him my story and said he would refund my extra $20 dollars that I was charged to clean my battery terminals and that was back in May of 2017 it is now almost the end of July and no sign of the money. After much communication and some 20+ hours of wasted time, the manager balked and refused to replace it. Said that's what I had insurance for. To my mind this is criminal behavior. DO NOT GO HERE. I'm not one to write reviews on businesses, but I'd hate for others to get taken advantage of. My experience with this Jiffy Lube was all around horrible, cost me a lot of time, money and aggravation. Here goes my experience: I called over the phone and was guaranteed the right tire for my car. I told them I'd be there in 30 min (around 1:00pm). I show up, talk in detail about the oil change, new tire, tire rotation and alignment, also $20 coupon with a service tech. Around 5pm, I call them because I hadn't received a call and they rudely tell me that they did all the services, except get my new tire that day, but will arrive the next day. Long story short, no one called me to tell me they NEVER actually got the tire that day, my tires were rotated with the "NEW" one left in the back (got charged extra for rotation & alignment), my oil cap was left UNSCREWED and my car kept overnight. After, speaking with their manager, he says "something just fell through the cracks" and says "let me do something for you" and gives me MY COUPON as a discount. Worst part of it all- I went to another location to have my car inspected and while reviewing my detailed receipt I was charged for a NEW SUMMIT tire and all 4 of my tires are HANKOOK brand . I drive on the highway a lot for work and work like this is unacceptable and could've caused a severe accident. The store manager Jason is the one who was involved (with a aggressive, unprofessional horrible attitude) in this case along with Dex and Dennis and I've already reported this along with invoice for date of service and the post- inspection to their corporate office so they have proof. They put my family in danger and that is not something to play with! Side note: they were never able to show proof that they actually even put a Summit tire on my car or even purchased one from a different location (tire kingdom) but was charged $155 for this service alone. read more

I purchased a groupon for an oil change but I also needed my gaskets caps replaced and my power steering flushed. $500 later I left with my steering wheel feeling kind of tight, drove to work (5 min away) and back To my house and it seemed to be getting worse. The next morning all of my power steering was now in a giant puddle under my car and I could not turn the wheel at all. I called the store and the assistant manager told me he would call me back with if he could get a technician to my house or not. He said " it's Saturday so probably wouldn't be able to get any one out till Monday but I want to do what's easier, oh and for you too" I waited and waited and never received a call, so bright and early Sunday morning I dumbed a whole bottle of power steering fluid in to my car so I could drive it there. Upon arrival the assistant manager told me there was no tech available so I would have to bring it back on Monday. EXCUSE ME?! How is that even safe!! He looked at the car for a minute and insisted there had been an air bubble in the pump and that it would cause a leak in the hose. So I left my car and waited for a call Monday morning. A tech called me to tell me that it looked like I had a bad hose and it would be only $249 to replace!! ONLY. My car had no hose problems or leaks with the power steering pump before bringing my car to this garage. Outraged I told him that I didn't understand why I was having to pay for something that had to have happened while my car was with them. He told me the manager was busy but he could call me back. So a hour later he called and told me that it was my pump that was bad and they would fix it for $150. Still annoyed that what they are saying isn't adding up he tells me that their zone manager would be available in a half hour and he would call me back. 3 hours later I called the shop back and they said he was in a meeting but I would still be getting a phone call and I needed to wait. Immediately following I get a call from nick the zone manager. Unable to help or even listen he told me that I would need to pay $392 to fix the pump but he was nice enough to give me $100 off....
