Yesterday I went to get my oil changed, and my friend had mentioned my tire looked low. While I was waiting, Ian told me my tires should be rotated. I had forgotten about the low tire at this point, but my friend reminded me, so I agreed to rotating my tires. Moments later, Ian showed me that there was a huge screw lodged in my tire! He offered to bring it next door real quick to get plugged - I thanked him and accepted the offer. Another few minutes go by, and Ian comes back with the huge screw, and my fixed tire, and put it back safely on my car. I drive back and forth from East Providence to Newport almost daily, my tire pressure light has been on since I got new tires last spring because I didn't want to pay another 700 bucks for all new tire pressure monitors (terrible, I know), so I have been unknowingly driving dangerously - I'm so thankful for my friend noticing and for Ian offering a rotate, and then to get my tire fixed for me real quick!! I feel a bit sad about this / there are people here who are very kind and generous / but it appears a management shift in customer interface is in the works? They do stuff that you don't ask for to inflate your cost / like replacing an air filter that was not needed or requested. Their "policy" is to replace the oil filter / mandatory after your car is in place. Look elsewhere. There are better choices. read more

Great, fast service. You can hang in your car and listen to music while they work. It may be a bit more pricey than other places but what people don't understand is that you are paying for the convenience of a fast (20 mins) oil change where you can relax inside your car. This store provides a convenient option for a fast oil change. They vacuum the heavy debris from your vehicle floors, top off windshield washer fluid, and check and maintain tire pressure in addition to changing your oil. My only complaint is that they consistently try and hustle their customers into replacing components (radiator fluid, air filter, etc.) when they don't want it or need it. It's "over the top" salesmanship. Back off on the upsale and this place will create better rapport with its customers. Update: Ok, back to the old shenanigans. Once again, I ask for oil change only and I get an up-sell attempt. This time for a cabin air filter. They quoted me $92! Cabin air filters for my vehicle can be bought for as little as $2.75. I've used Jiffy Lube out of necessity, due exclusively to its proximity to where I lived, and have had problems with their service in the past. Not this time... The employees were fantastic on all levels. From the thorough customer service, to the transparency of their automotive services, I felt informed and taken care of. Yesterday I visited this particular Jiffy Lube for an oil change. I had been there once more so I knew what to expect, but I was still impressed nonetheless! Nirut has helped me both times, and is courteous, speedy, and accommodating. The waiting area is clean, offers Keurig coffee and a TV for entertainment, which is nice even for the short wait. Nirut made some recommendations based on my manufacturers suggestions, and when I told him that I didn't have time today, he respectfully didn't press the issue. I was out within 20 minutes. Went here for an oil change before leaving on vacation. Drove 300 miles north and noticed i was leaking a significant amout of oil. Next day took it to a mechanic in maine to find out what was going on. What i thought was a loose oil plug turned out that the oil plug was cross threaded leading to having to get a whole new oil pan. $500 dollars later. Placed complaint at shop and they asked "how do you know it was us?". Seemed rude to me considering i wasnt keaking oil until after i had just got service done. Im waiting to hear back from corporate on the case. Hoping for reimbursement for everything and my troubles. Will not go back here to amateurs doing oil changes. read more

I was stuck waiting for over an hour...if I want to wait I'll go down the street and save 50 dollars. They did a good job, were quick, and the $8 off from checking in through Yelp helped. However, more expensive than I've spent elsewhere, even with the discount. And they definitely try to up-sell you - they tried to talk me into a new filter, windshield wipers, and when I mentioned I had done synthetic before, they just automatically added that without asking - I saw it on the receipt and told them I didn't want that and hadn't asked for it. Could just be an honest mistake, but I tend to think it's company policy to up-sell. If you have an hour to spare for s simple oil change then this location is perfect. I came to get a quick oil change and wound up wait over an hour. The labor was done fast but most of the time took waiting behind a customer who also was there to over an hour. Sounded like they were convincing everyone else that was coming in that they needed additional things done as well. My steering has been squirrely ever since. The waiting area - unfortunately you won't be there long - was comfortable and obsessively clean. I have to be honest and say that this is the very best jiffy lube on the East Coast. Middletown RI. Corey, Niruit and their crew take care of my personal and work vehicles. They remember who we are when we go and most of all have a clean facility and a no hassle approach. I work with adults with disabilities and they are always professional and take extra time to explain what may or may not be going on with the lift vans and minivans. I will come here every time I need my oil changed. My husband and I have both had the most wonderful experiences there. Our dealings are mostly with the fantastic manager, I'm sorry I don't have his name, but he is such a professional. I never feel comfortable in repair shops, but this is the least pushy garage employee I have ever encountered! He will make recommendations, but never makes you feel inferior (which ladies, you know happens too often at these shops) or forced into anything that is unnecessary. I will be sure to get his name next time to give him proper recognition! But keep it up!! read more

My 21 year old daughter went to the Middletown Jiffy Lube and was the subject of a wicked upsell. She just asked for an oil chage on her 2006 Altima (12 years old 180,000 miles) and the service rep strongly recommeded sythetic blend oil ($70). Then after the inspection he informed her that her coolant was low ad this was "dangerous". She understood that they were going to top it off, but instead they did a full rediator flush for $100. The they recommeded her oil pan needed replacement b/c it was rusty and could leak and yes, then they recommended a trasmission service on this old cluncker I called the service manager and he assured me the service here was good. Their computer recommends certain actions based on their observations. She will get 4000 to 5000 miles between oil chages and the full radiator flush will get her through the Winter and her coolant will now be good for three years...long beyond the life of this auto. So...buyer beware. Tell them what you want ad don't make any snap decissions. read more

I've been coming here off & on for several years. They have been consistent in their methods, "up-selling", to me is not a crime, it's good business. Asking a customer how their wipers are doing, recommending manufacturer's preventive maintenance and or asking them if they have any other concerns about their car is smart and helpful. I like the way they check the car out because I do not always do the best job. I've never been intimidated or hard sold any service there. A couple years back they did slightly strip the "oil pan" treads, and I did hear about previous corner cutting for example: not changing the old oil filter & they got busted when the customer marked his filter before coming in! DO NOT USE THIS JIFFY LUBE! I had my oil changed and my engine stopped before I even got home. I had to have it towed to the dealer who determined that Jiffy Lube put too much oil in the engine. $185 later, Jiffy Lube is refusing to pay for my repairs. Take your business elsewhere. read more

I was desperate to get an oil change since i was overdue because my previous place didnt put a sticker with a date on my car and i was driving to NJ so luckily at 5pm on a friday this place wasnt busy and they were able to service my car. They walked me in and were very nice and chatty. However, they asked me what kind of oil my car needs which I would assume they are the experts - my usual place doesnt ask me this (yes I sound like a woman right now but thats why I trust the experts) and their synthetic oil which is the one I should have gotten instead of conventional i later found out, was fairly expensive. Im not sure if this is normal but I usually get charged $37 for an oil change and their conventional oil was that price. And as these places are known for, they call you in and tell you you need all these things and I dont know if I can believe them lol. I'll stick to my regular oil change place but its great to have this place in a crunch. read more

Fast service, but somehow always seem to tell me there is something else that needs to be fixed on my car... When I brought it to a very reputable mechanic to have it looked at there was nothing wrong. Last time the told me I needed a radiator flush, which I did because he seemed so genuine. I went back 3000 miles later for my routine oil change and the guy said I needed it again!! Which I definitely didn't!
