I really enjoy the service at this location, you have customer loyalty in me (and my friends and family I've recommended your location to) because of employees who I have gotten to know over 10 years now. However, when I asked for certain employees (females, since I am a female) I was told they were no longer working there. Not knowing circumstances, but knowing the pandemic led to many women leaving the workforce, I can only urge your corportion to pay your employees livable wages to guarantee the success of your business. It is expensive to live in the Monterey Bay Area and recent news articles say one needs $32 an hour to afford rent in my area. Please do a wage study and provide livable wages to keep your excellent employees. I have many choices, even for cheaper service, yet I go out of my way to your location simply because I trust your employees. If they say I need a service I believe them because I trust them all. I often go to Jiffy Lube in other towns. It's a quick, easy walk-in and inexpensive. HOWEVER, Jiffy Lube in Monterey charges $124 for a basic oil change, something that is $40-$50 at other locations. HORRIBLE! STAY AWAY! My boyfriend and I visited Jiffy Lube on (05/13/19) and it was the worst experience we've ever had! My boyfriend's car needed an oil change really bad so we decided to give this location a try. To start, customer service was okay and I cannot complain about that. However, $150 for an oil change and other unnecessary stuff we didn't ask for is just too much money. We paid, and then left. We drove for less than 2 miles and my boyfriend said the car felt weird, he said his foot wasn't even on the gas and it was going 20-25 mph on it's own. We kind of just brushed it off and continued driving. We were getting close to a stop sign and then he has to slam on his breaks because he said the car wouldn't stop, as we get closer and closer to the car in front of us, my boyfriend puts the car in park and puts the emergency break on since he said there was no way the car was going to stop. THE BREAKS WERE NOT WORKING! To top it off, when it was in park, the car was making a weird grinding noise. We had to hurry up and get to the nearest parking lot and park because that car was not safe to drive. DISCLAIMER* THE CAR WAS PERFECTLY FINE BEFORE THE OIL CHANGE* We call Jiffy Lube and their response is "We don't work on breaks", but they send someone over to help us. The Jiffy Lube employee, who's name is SHERWIN arrives and says "Oh yeah, your break pads are worn out, you need to change them". We tell him, "No, turn the car on, it's making a grinding noise". He then proceeds to pop the hood and move some stuff around. He moves something which I couldn't see, and it stops the grinding. GREAT! Then, in a joking way he says, "Oh, your wires were intertwined and they're dry I'm going to lubricate them, see" I didn't want to argue with him or anything so we just said okay. He then told us before we left "Yeah, you need to change your break pads ASAP". We said okay, and left. That same afternoon, we get the break pads and my father who is a mechanic agrees to change them the next day. The next day I am with my father, watching him change them and he said that you couldn't even see the break pads unless you remove the wheel. Also, when he removed the old ones he said that less than half was worn. I'm honestly so disappointed in that Jiffy Lube employee for lying to us and moving something that he wasn't supposed to move in the first place. An oil change has nothing to do with wires, so he had no business moving anything else that was under the hood. I advise you go somewhere else, or avoid that guy named SHERWIN. We almost crashed and got our car broken over a $150 oil change..NOT WORTH IT! read more

I came in a few weeks ago. Usually I am happy with them, however when I came to get my tire rotation, they were very unprofessional. I have my car garaged everyday and so I am aware of the exterior of my car. When i went there for my rotation, they told me to stay in the office and wait. During my wait, they asked for me to get the wheel lock in my trunk in order to unlock the tires to rotate them. I proceeded to give the wheel lock and return back into the waiting area. After the job was done, I retrieved my car and later saw a sharp line indentation (took out the paint and can see the metal) on the front of my car's hood. I immediately called the shop and spoke to a mechanic. They were rude and told me it was my fault and hung up. I waited for half an hour and asked to speak to a manager. Again, I was spoken to in an unprofessional manner and they didn't even apologize. They said, "I saw you walk in the front of your car (which I didn't since I stayed in the office and briefly walked toward the trunk to get the wheel lock for them) and you put something there!" They lied and I will never go back to this shop. I highly do not recommend going to Jiffy Lube on Fremont Ave./Casanova Ave. and they will never get my business again. Jiffy Lube is my go to for oil change service, because of the following: 1. Their customer service is excellent, I am welcomed each time in a respectful manner, especially by Nhi. She always knows how to drive conversations when suggesting services to get done on my car and when she rings me up. I appreciate it, it makes things run smoothly. 2. Attention to detail, I had a couple of times where they forgot to vacuum my car and it wasn't terrible but since it was apart of the signature oil change I expected it. On my most recent visit, Adrian took care of it and vacuumed my car. I know it can be tedious with my car having to manually unlock and lock each door but I was quite pleased and have remembered him since. 3. Trustworthy, when I bring my car I know I am getting the truth. What a bunch of Jokers. These guys have done an oil change for me 3 times. Every time they try to upsell you on expensive items. Like 50 bucks for a cabin air filter! it literally takes 2 minutes to swap a cabin air filter! Additionally they disconnected a hose on my car the last time I had it serviced by them. The check engine light came back on immediately after they serviced the vehicle. I had to take it back to another jiffy lube to get them to check their work. They said there was nothing wrong with it! I had to take it to my mechanic after reading the error codes related to the evap system I thought it would be a really expensive repair. My mechanic told me it was just a vacuum hose that got disconnected! Boy am I disappointed! Even if you just want an oil change GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! these buffoons will probably do more harm than good! read more

Never thought I'd leave a 1 star. Also never thought I could be so annoyed or upset at employees before. First, they make me back up from lane 1 so the other car in lane 2, who was there first to go in before me (totally fine and no problem). Then, they make move again from lane 2, to 1 and put me behind that car. meanwhile lanes 2 and 3, with cars who came after me got right in, no problem. It was so funny. This is the 2nd time I had my oil changed there and my car was leaking oil afterwards (I have a huge oil spot in my driveway) my hubby and I know it was from the oil change last week as my car wasn't leaking oil prior to that. Took it back yesterday and the employee gave my husband a weak excuse that it was the excess oil flushing out! Nope-it was the oil plug. The crew at Jiffy Lube was very quick and transparent. They took the car and let me know that they will give me a price estimation before doing the service. Tip! I was able to find a $10 off coupon for the oil change service on the website. The oil change service came together to $89. But that is only because I needed synthetic oil change/ filter. They also suggested a new air filter and gave me a discount on that service. The total rang $120. They washed the windows and vacuumed the car as part of the service. I understand there must be cheaper alternatives, but these quys did everything in less than 30 min and we needed to get on the road! :) read more

My last visit here was a few years ago (pre-Yelp). After their service, my truck started leaking transmission fluid. I went back, they went through some motions, said they tightened something, but was still leaking fluid. Another mechanic eventually fixed it. Absolutely will not go to this or any Jiffy Lube again. And to Jade, the reviewer who said "If you're friendly...you're [sic] service will be friendly! :)", I was nothing but friendly and courteous. Brought an awd car jiffy lube for their service. On the receipt they said the car did not have a differential, transfer case/center differential. So i called to inquire. They said they did inspect, just marked the receipt wrong. I asked about the leak on the center diff that I knew was there. Has been for a long while and it rather obvious a there's oil everywhere. Technician told me the car was fine and had no leaks. Well i guess if it's stopped leaking, it probably empty. Which would suggest that it was also not checked. Honestly you're better off going to an actual auto shop and getting charged less where they'll do more than just try to wipe your windows and put air in your tires. They didn't even change the oil filter instead they just filled it up. If I wanted to fill it up, I would have done it myself and paid much less just for the oil. All you're paying for here is the type of oil, jiffy lube please do better. First and last time coming here. This place is the absolute worse! I have went twice and both experiences have been nothing but absolutely horrendous in every bit of the word but the second experience was what made me decide never to set forth nor venture to this hell hole! If yelp had the option of giving this place ZERO and I mean ZERO stars I would do it without a heartbeat. On my second experience, I decided that I would go buy my own oil filter and oil since autozone had a oil filter and oil special for 20 dollars which would ultimately lower the cost (or so I thought) of the oil change since I wouldn't need to buy Jiffy Lube's oil and oil filter. Upon arriving, I mention that I brought my own oil and filter. The guy looks at me like an idiot as though I made some sort of mistake. Anyways, about an hour and 45 minutes later, my car's oil was finally changed and I see the estimate. Turns out that not only did I have to pay for the labor but I had to pay for parts that I DID NOT RECEIVE. I reiterate, these clowns charged me 20 dollars for an oil filter and oil that they did not give to me. The oil filter and oil I brought in only took off 5 dollars off the price of the total cost. Anyways, I ask the guy, "why am I being charged for parts when I brought my own oil and filter." The guy looks at me as though I am stupid and blind and puts out on the receipt that the oil and filter I brought in took off 5 dollars of the total cost. Yes, I realize that you idiot. What sort of business would charge their own customers for parts that they did not receive nor need? THAT IS STRAIGHT UP THEFT! Never again will they receive any of my money again. Been here for over thirty min and the total number of cars when I arrived was three, counting me. Two have left and one has shown up. I counted 8 employees and the little guy who meets you at the start does a crappy job with men but is super friendly to the females. Don't think it's a cultural thing for Asians but maybe. Either way they've only just started after 34 min. Lots of foul language and chit chat about last nights 'good times'. I don't blame the young staff, I hold the management accountable. Jose seems to be the hardest working guy here but none are very friendly, unless of course you're female. NO MEANS NO! DAMN IT!! I needed an oil change and decided to give this place a shot. That was a mistake. I went in and told them I wanted a standard oil change. The guy immediately began trying to sell me the high millage oil upgrade. I kept saying "no!". He took "no" as a cue to continue explaining the benefits of high millage oil. I know a little bit about cars and am already familiar with high millage oil and that's not what I wanted. Nor was my millage high enough for that type of oil to even be a legitimate option. So after about four times saying "no" with increasing impatience the guy decided to move on to the next part of the crappy service sales pitch. After saying "no" to every stupid, inane service they recommended the guy told me it would be ready in about 20 minutes. About 25 minutes later he comes walking in with the air filter that they had removed from my hood. He called me over to the counter and said "this is your air filter. It is somewhat dirty. You should probably replace it". I had just changed the filter myself about two months prior and it was not dirty at all (that brand of air filter has a slightly off-white color to the filter material). I said "Damn it. Go put my air filter back." The guy gave me a "I'd love to fight you but I'm at work" look. I gave him a "I'd like to fight you regardless of the fact that you're at work" look. The tension in the waiting room was palpable. I'm not big on people poking around under the hood of my truck, and I'm especially not fond of people removing parts. About 45 minutes after I drove in I drove away, vowing never to come back. read more

On 6/8/16 my husband went to Jiffy Lube for an oil change on his Chevy truck that is over 20 years old. Yes 20 years but it is maintained and only used for very short trips on the peninsula. What started as a basic oil change with a $10.00 coupon turned out to be a $278.00 bill which my husband paid. Recommendations from the manager convinced my husband it was necessary. My husband had a minor stroke and even though he is fine his decision making is not what it used to be. Overwhelmed and thought everything was needed because of the managers sincerity he approved everything. He is a very trusting man. Not so on the other end at Jiffy Lube. Of course I went down there after my husband came home after I saw the bill. The manager actually took me outside because there were customers in the waiting area. I never raised my voice or showed any aggressive behavior because at that stage of the game it was out of my control and not my nature. I just wanted to let him know that I knew what he did and call it to his attention that he had no morals or remorse when he should have had integrity representing Jiffy Lube. I come in contact with quite a few people and business owners since I am a business owner myself. I will definitely relay this story to the customers I come in contact with. I cannot say enough about the service and professionalism at this Jiffy Lube. Clearly, I was very stressed and almost in tears when I pulled in and without hesitation the staff helped me. Everyone I came across was enthusiastic, competent and really seemed to enjoy their job. The manager, Steve, was AMAZING! I had an issue with a housing, gasket or something and he literally said, "Oh, I have seen this before." He then went into his personal locker and brought up 5 boxes. The fifth box he opened was the right part and he fixed my car. I, of course, got an oil change and my car is running great! Steve is an excellent example of someone who enjoys his job and, as they say, "If you love what you do, you'll never work a day in your live." I am as fussy about oil changes as they come. For years I would not take my vehicles to the shop in favor of doing it myself. I could always do it better than them. It was not about cost. But now it is so hard to get to the filter and such a pain taking the oil to the Marina Landfill Recycle Center, I have started using Jiffy Lube. Steve Crews and his guys are fast enough for me. Any faster I'd feel it is too quick. They are thorough and keep good records. They are pleasant. And for a person about as meticulous as you can be with oil changes, they are perfect. Quite possibly my favorite Jiffy Lube, ever. Three days before, I got an oil change at an EZ Lube in Redondo Beach, CA (Los Angeles). When I arrived in Monterey, I discovered smoke poring out of my engine. It turns out the EZ lube installed a defective Oil Filter, which created a slow leak. Jiffy Lube in Monterey looked at the problem, diagnosed it, replaced the filter, gave me the defective filter in a plastic bag, and DID NOT charge me. My oil change heros. read more
