I had a horrible experience here and was actually lied to, today. I showed up at 8 am when there was one other customer getting service. I needed to have the Uber inspection done for a car. The guy tells me he's the only one there and the "guy who does the Uber test" won't be there until 9. I show up again again at 9:06 and there's a long line. I pull off to the side by the tire shop as this inspection doesn't need a service pit inspection and I've been told there's a guy there that does this inspection. THEY TELL ME TO JUST GET IN LINE, an hour after I first showed up. I don't if some genius had decided to get extensive service done here at twice the cost of a real mechanic or what, but 45 minutes later, I was literally no closer to getting this quick inspection on my car done, and I left. Definitely will not be going back. Being slow or having people get expensive things done in front of you is something that can't be helped and is just the downside of the the quick lube scene. Inaccuracy in what you're telling the customer or outright deception is very avoidable. read more

Let me start off by saying I'm a mom of 4. Just bought an older van about 2 months ago. I just came up it's the money to do a full tune up. I did my research on what a full tune up was. I called 3 days ago and confirmed what they offer on the full tune up and they even asked what kind of car I had and told me all the things they would look into replace and can run up to 800$. I had just enough for the full tune up so I took in my car. The employee had told me ok your car is going to take about 4 hours and with everything needed to be done it's going to be $808 dollars so with the list they offer they do for a full tune up I said that's fine because I wanted my car to be good and reliable or notified if anything else needed to be done or looked into. So they called me once my car was ready and I asked what they had done to my car because my total was $808 and the employee had told me the spark plugs were replaced and o asked what else and he said that was all so I said but that's not what your advertising for a full tune up. And he laughed at me and said ma'am that's what a full tune up is spark plug replacement. Yet on their website for a basic tune up said inspect ignition system and replace spark plugs if needed and that would be 40-150$. So I drove off upset because I was lied to over the phone and what I was charged for one thing. And my windshield wipers for the water to be refilled went off they couldn't even do that! Houston we have a problem. Was watching the tech add oil to my truck and put in 5W-30 vice 5W-20. I asked him did he add W30 and he said yes because my truck is high mileage. OMG! That is a gross conceptual error and can damage internal components that require less viscous oil. The fact that he did this without telling me makes me very nervous. He changed the fluids contrary to my vehicles specifications on his own based on faulty logic makes me wonder how many other cars he has done this too. This is an incredibly bad thing to do. You NEVER EVER change specifications without owner consent. You NEVER EVER assume a thicker oil is somehow "high mileage" compatible. They need to shut down. Conduct training and contact owners that they did this too and recall those vehicles. They fixed it but man o man. What a mistake. Also, a big change from the last time I came in. Things I know are wrong with my truck they didn't catch nor discuss. Last time they told me my brakes were very thin. This time nothing was mentioned. Consistency and trust are key in this business. Took advantage of my newly teen drivers inexperience on vehicles. She went there due to vibrating noise in engine and knocking noise from suspension/brakes area. They told her she needed spark plug replaced. Didn't show her the old ones which he had replaced recently: also charged $30 for each plug for V4, when they are only $11. took to our usual mechanic and vehicle had bad engine mounts and suspension bad. Just did an oil change after having one done at this location on 6/29/24 and realized that they were unable to remove filter and never told me. The same filter was on there that I marked for this exact same reason. I was the third customer in line and it was fast but now I know why they didn't even change the filter. I had engraved in the one I had on. And my spouse just removed it and my engraving was on it. Scammed me out of an oil filter who knows if the oil was even changed now. It is common knowledge that the easiest maintenance to have done it the oil change. I see it as the most common neglected inexpensive part of owning a car. I know a few friends who have seized their engine because they had ignored the "oil" warning light (I think is you see this light it may almost be too late or not). So why risk it, get your regularly scheduled oil change. Yes you don't have to have it changed every 3,000 miles or even 5,000 miles but to be on the safe side just follow your maintenance manual (usually found in the glove compartment). I used to do my own oil change but it gets messy so it got old after a few years. Now I just pull up to Jiffy Lube, they will guide you and your oil change will be done while you're in the car. Gone are the days of getting oil underneath my finger nail and going to to the automotive store to properly dispose of the oil. Now I just listen to music or browse my next Yelp adventure. Jiffy Lube will top off all of your fluids and even tell you the manufacturer's maintenance schedule. In order to lower my expense I do use the coupon that I get in my email so make it even more affordable. Just a reminder that not all places are created equal but this particular Jiffy Lube does what it promise... change your oil. read more

Put 5W20 in my car instead of 5W40 and didn't say anything!!! This location told me that Full Synthetic Oil/Platinum (5W40) should be changed every 5000 miles.. Platinum/Full Synthetic does not need to changed every 5k it is recommended every 7.5k-10k miles. They are just out to steal peoples money! They could of been truthful and told me that I didn't need a oil change for another 5k-6k miles and that I could of just topped off the oil with full synthetic because it was a little low. THEY EVEN PUT 5W20 in my HIGH MILEAGE after they asked me for the mileage and I said I use 5w40. They charged me for 5W40 and didn't say anything until I checked the receipt. The worker said she put 5w20 because "5w40 was not an option"... if it was not an option why was I charged for it and why didn't they mention it!!! That could of damaged my car. The manager was present and didn't even catch on to it. They switched out my oil to the correct one but only after I complained and brought it to the managers attention. I even got a second opinion from Mercedes Dealership and they also confirmed that Full Synthetic 5W40 last 10,000 miles prior to the next oil change. Learned my lesson and will be taking my car to experts instead of these unprofessional workers. read more

It's ok. Service was quick and friendly. Service was good as well. My only complaint is the price point. I paid $112 which included a $15 off coupon I found on their website for an oil change and air filter replacement for a 4 door sedan 2.0 4 cyl engine. Labor costs are reasonable but it was over $90 for parts. I know full synthetic oil is more expensive but, come on... I could've done this myself for about $50 but I have no space at home to do my own oil change. Price was a big turn off for me. I would've gone to Walmart for the same service about $60 but the auto center was closed. Thank you for the service though. read more

On November 17, 2021, I went in to replace my passenger side head light. I was advised I was behind on two services that my car needed. Since I had the time, I agreed to the service. While I was waiting in my car, I smelled burnt plastic looked up and realized that my engine was on fire and the service guys were putting it out with water. I asked if everything was ok. They said it was fine. They text me two photos and said the plastic cover under the car touched the metal and there was not enough space. I was lucky it happened there instead of when I was driving. I said I dont' live in San Diego area, I live in San Jose. I asked... Is it safe for me to drive back to San Jose? They said yes it would be fine. An hour from home as I was driving back, the check engine light came on. Of course, I was nervous and scared. I immediately pulled over and they said it was fine. To bring the car back in and they could reset it. Of course it was not fine. I scheduled an appt with the dealership to inspect my car... $2500 worth of damage to the engine for the engine fire clearly caused the the people servicing my car at the Imperial Beach Jiffy Lube. I called twice on December 8, text photos of the damage and the invoice for the damage to be repaired by the dealership. I was advised that someone would get back to me. "I sent everything to the Dm already they are the one is going to handle it already" direct quote from text. I responded who to I follow up with. December 9, I called twice it just rang. Then, I used by brothers phone and someone answered the phone. Apparently he didn't know what I was talking about. The manager of course was out sick. That if I was told that information was sent to the DM then it would be handled by the DM. I need to get reimbursed for the damage to my car. Caution based on my experience described above. The damage done to the car according to the invoice from the dealership: engine harness replacement 02 (that sounds important) Sensor and air fuel raio replacement Do you think should be responsible for the damage? As a female who can barely put air in my tires, I appreciate the fact that Johnny and Luciano made me feel comfortable while getting my oil change. I really liked the fact I was able to stay in my car during the entire oil change too. The oil change took less than 30 minutes to complete and the cost was very reasonable.
