The only reason that Jiffy Lube is getting one star is that I indirectly found some real mechanics in the process of finding someone to fix the damage caused by a simple oil change. One hour after getting a regular oil change, the one thing that Jiffy Lube is supposed to do best, I took my car out to go to school and all of a sudden, going up a hill, my gas pedal turned to mush and smoke started billowing out of my car's tailpipes. I was not expecting this! After all, I had just taken it to my local Iffy Lube, and they'd told me everything was good to go. Luckily I was able to get out of traffic and into a safe place. I called the manager of the Lake City store, Brandon, and he drove the half mile to meet me and take a look. He was completely baffled as to the cause, as he struggled to locate several components under the hood that could've caused the issue. He left me there with his mechanic buddy's number, whose shop was about to close. From there I tried to drive it the half mile to the nearest mechanic, couldn't make it half a block, and had to wait an hour for a tow truck to take it to Northwest Automotive, who will be receiving my business from here on out. Running a cleaning business without your car is incredibly inconvenient, to say the least. I received a call the next day from the pros at Northwest Automotive, and they told me that Iffy Lube had overfilled my car's oil reservoir by 3 quarts! It holds only 4. Massive fuel contamination as a result: hence the smoke. I brought the printout with these findings to Brandon the next morning. Instead of apologizing, or even admitting that perhaps his "team" had made a mistake, he began blaming me, saying that they didn't do it and my car was the problem (it was in perfect condition before I went in for the failed oil change!) He told me I had a cracked engine block?! Really? He was so unprofessional and nonsensical in his approach, that I just left - clearly he was incapable of carrying on a rational conversation. I spent the next week and a half calling corporate in TX, and trying to get ahold of Dennis Edwards, the district manager, who doesn't answer his phone or return calls, not does he even have a voicemail. Eventually, after calling corporate repeatedly, I was assigned a claim number and given a partial reimbursement for the repair costs. I consider myself lucky that nothing more serious happened, and the repairs were fairly easy and not expensive. I feel relieved that I was able to avoid injury to myself and others when my car stopped working in traffic. Finding some real mechanics at Northwest saved me days worth of Uber-rides and unhappy clients, as they fixed my car way ahead of their projected time frame. I now am among the ranks of people with a Jiffy Lube (iffy, I say) horror story. I will never let any more untrained, unprofessional workers from this crooked company ever touch my car again. These guys are great! We have gone here many times in the past for oil changes and they have been very friendly. A couple of months ago I noticed our car was leaking coolant, so thinking Jiffy lube might have done something at our last visit we brought it to them. They checked out the car at no charge and found a leak in our heater core. Advised us what to do and told us to check our warranty because the car is still fairly new. We knew exactly what to say when we went to the dealer, which made going there so much easier. read more

This location switched all of their staff. I have been going there for many years and was so disappointed with my last visit when I saw no familiar faces. I got in the service line and told the gentleman I would like an oil change. He escorted me to the waiting area and drove my car into the garage. 3 min later, my car is sitting in their parking lot. I assumed since it was busy, they might not have had time to do mine right away. After waiting patiently for over 30 min I walk toward the service entrance and ask what's going on with my car. The manager told me it was done and that he had to check other people in. He told me my total, which was more than I was expecting to pay. Before this visit, the staff always had done an overview of my car, then call me over to explain what they will be doing and what it will cost and how long it will take. Sometimes I even get a discount. This time however, they kept me waiting unnecessarily, did not vacuum or wipe my windows or put air in my tires, nothing. I don't even know if they changed my oil in 3 min. I paid without arguing and he said he needed to get to the next customer. I even said thank you, and he didn't say anything back. These people never greeted me, I pulled up in line at the garage doors, they came out and asked me to move cause another car had priority. So I moved and then waited another 5-10 mins just standing outside my truck and finally had to go in the garage and ask for some help, they told me that they were out of oil and didn't even bother to help me find another location that could help me. Jiffy lube messed up my engine and wont fix it!!! I got a oil change at this Jiffy lube and they did not put a gasket on the Oil Filter. My oil ran out and it ruined my car. I took it back to them within 15 min of my car indicator lights for oil pressure and they checked and no gasket. They did a new oil change and my engine had just not been the same I took it back several times to get them to fix it. Once they did a fuel line cleaner which has nothing to do with my engine. They then changed a part that had a hole in it near the intake valve. Nothing they did fixed the problem. Not once did they offer to send it to a shop to see what was wrong. they just kept guessing. I finally got fed up and asked for them to send to a shop. I got the run around for 6 weeks. After calling Corp Cust Service 3 times the Franchise District Mgr finally called me. Then 2 days later had the shop manager call me and say they have no intention of fixing my truck. I cannot afford to fix it nor afford to get another vehicle. I am a Senior Citizen and a handicapped Veteran. No one should be treated this way!!!!! read more

** ALWAYS CHECK YOUR OIL AFTER GETTING WORK DONE BY THIS COMPANY. UNPROFESSIONAL AND INCOMPETENT. ** We went to this location on 7/30/2016, for a simple oil change. After hearing about all the extra items, that they try to up-sell you on, we went for only the simple oil change with synthetic oil. When we got home, I decided to check the oil levels, only to find out that oil was very low. I looked under the car to find a large oil puddle and a steam of oil coming from the bottom of the drip pan. They did not bother to screw in the oil pan plug fully. We took the car back the next day, they blamed the work on a guy who was fired, after fixing the issue. (Funny the same 3 guys were there the next day. Kitty litter is the best at soaking up large pools of oil on your driveway. We paid $75.07 for this mess, go to the dealer next time. read more

The building was very clean so I felt like they cared about the work they did and their customers. The best part was how efficient they were. They Tried to swindle me out of $150. They told me I needed to flush my transition fluid every 20,000 miles and I had never done it before. Then I was surprised when they didn't charge me for it at the end. Then 2 days later my car died on the freeway. Also flushing my transmission fluid every 20k miles ended up being a lie. Now my car is in the shop and I have to figure out what is wrong with it. $75 tow charge on top of whatever else I'm going to pay. Avoid these guys. Don't fall for the transmission fluid trick. Also there are many videos on youtube showing that Jiffy Lube has a very bad track record for exactly this kind of behavior. read more

When I asked him which oil he would put into his own car, he answered me - and then put it into my car. When I went to pay, he was honest with me and said, "I can't sell you anything, because your son has taken good care of your car." I appreciated his honesty and told him so. We came in to get our car serviced and saw there was a short upon driving up. Before we even turned the car off an employee rushed out and told us up front that they were short staffed and how long we should expect to wait before we were out of there. Very informative! Sat back with a cup of coffee and a magazine, and the time actually flew by. Both employees were very friendly. Every time I go to this location I always experience great customer service. read more

Overall the oil change was good and I had no problems with that part of my service, but the customer response time is lacking. I don't think they know what jiffy means, because they weren't very jiffy. I was at Jiffy Lube for 60 mins. The wait time Is just to long I need to be able to get in and out quickly. Very unprofessional service. I went in for a simple oil change and they did it in less than 15min. I was impressed by their efficiency only to find out later that they didn't tighten the drain plug beyond finger tight. The oil was slowly leaking out and by the time I realized it, it had already damaged the car and polluted my driveway. If they do tens of hundreds oil change everyday, how come they can't even tighten the drain plug properly? Thats pretty much the only service they offer and they can't even do it professionally. Please save yourself some hassle by going to the dealership for oil change. read more

Been going here for a while now for oil changes. Taylor is the usual greeter and is probably the nicest customer service person ever. Yes they always offer extra services but never pressure me if by car is up to standard. I also had wiper fluid ports that wouldn't spray and Taylor gave them an extra look over and did some magic and unclogged them for me. Fast and friendly and helpful. read more

This 5 star review is for honesty and professionalism. I planned to get an oil change today because I thought that before a "long" drive (~800 miles) I should get this service done as preventative care. I was greeted kindly by JD (sp?) and led to the wait room. In a few minutes, he returned to show me that my next oil change is recommended at 65K miles, and I was still at ~63K miles. I did not need an oil change, and he advised that it would be more economical to get the oil change after my trip. I noticed the shop was not busy and appreciated the tip as I am trying to save. Great customer service and friendly employees! This location has very friendly staff who do quick work. When they are busy they always let me know an estimate of how long it may take to complete the work. I always feel taken care of, and I am also happy that they offer me additional options for service. I do not typically accept these unless it is obvious to me that it is needed at the time, or for example if I know it has been a while since I replaced my air filter, etc. They are very knowledgeable and I have had many instances where they answered additional questions I had about car maintenance and about the best deals for things I needed to have done, including work that I could not have done by Jiffy Lube. This speaks to their customer service. I cannot agree with the commenters who say jiffy lube or their employees run scams. I do believe that like every other business, jiffy lube has a goal to sell a product, and one responsibility of customers is to determine whether or not we will purchase all, some, or any of what they are selling. It is no different than visiting a different type of store for a product. This is how businesses continue to operate. I do not always have excess funds to spend on my car, so I also value that I don't feel pressured to buy additional services here, it is all offered and I can choose what to accept. I believe these are good people making an honest living. Besides, I do not know how to change my own oil, etc. so I am thankful for the service and friendly faces. read more

This location should have been open at 8am. It is 8:50 am. The manager is nowhere to be found and a new employee/trainee cannot get into the building. Two customers have come and gone already. Perhaps Jiffy Lube should consider hiring competent managers... I would imagine that they'd need to pay a reasonable wage for that to happen. read more

I recently went here for an oil change it was early in the morning and there were already a few cars there, the guy greeted me he was really nice and explained I may wait a bit which was fine. Just stay away from the one on Lake City Way. I keep going there because they're so close to my house, but I'm done now. They've charged me for topping off fluids that they never topped off, they've charged me for new windshield wipers that they never replaced but this is the final straw. After getting my oil change and air filter replaced I noticed there seemed to be less power. I figured, what's the last thing that got changed? Opened the hood and the housing for the air filter was completely off-kilter and obviously never connected. There's something wrong with this location. This has been ongoing for years. read more

This has been a long overdue. We used to maintain our oil changes at this location from 1997 to 2014. We stopped last year as we moved to further away to a bigger location in kenmore and have hired a part time Mechanic. I have seen many employees and managers come and go. This is the best Jiffy Lube in the area. Great service, and the guys there don't give you the obnoxious hard sell some of the other stores do. In fact, last time I went, they drove my car back out and said "It looks like you haven't driven it at all -- your oil looks brand new and we're not taking your money." I've been to others where I felt like they were obnoxiously pushing extras on me, but here the manager is always great at explaining why I need whatever extra service thing it is. I had a frustrating time at this Jiffy Lube, where I was pressured to get expensive services I did not need (with a staff saying my car was at risk of exploding if I did not service it soon). I left without getting the services and checked with another non-Jiffy Lube location that reported my car was fine. I was frustrated and felt disrespected and nearly taken advantage of. However, I wrote to Jiffy Lube about the situation and the manager there was kind and apologetic and he offered me coupons as an apology and reported the suspension of the pressuring staff. I appreciate Jiffy Lube's action, and I encourage others to report injustices to ensure we all get the good service that have been advertised. read more

At a Brand X local site, I had recently completed a full service on my 97 F-250 in anticipation of camping expedition. Their grease gun was broken and they couldn't complete the job. The helpful JL crew at Lake City lubed the front end and refused payment when offered. Terrific responsiveness and I've no hesitancy in recommending highly. read more

Sorry to say, but these guys are apparently a bunch of idiots, I went in to get my oil changed obviously and it took forever for them to find my oil filter which I can't knock them for, but I'm sure I'm not the only one with a Toyota Highlander on the road, i actually see my exact car very frequently. They changed my oil just fine although it took a long time because they couldn't find the filter the real trouble happened when I got on the freeway and I started hearing a very loud scraping noise. I took the next exit and I knew exactly what it was it was the plastic cover that they had to remove to get to the oil filter they apparently forgot to screw it back on. Well, driving at 60 miles an hour down the freeway doesn't do very good things to plastic covers that are dragging on the concrete and it pretty much ruined the holes that you put the screws in to hold it in place. It's a pretty minor thing to remember to screw back in what you unscrewed and it should be done by any mechanic trying to provide a safe service to their customers. I also asked them beforehand to do something about the oil maintenance required screen that pops up every time I start my car. I didn't notice when I was leaving, but the screen was not reset and I'm not really sure how to do it although I guess I'll look into what It takes now, but I was hoping some professionals that do this all day long should know. Sorry for thinking that people working on your car should actually do a good job but I am still really disappointed with the service I got especially since it cost an obscene amount of money to change the oil when I could have done it myself but I just I was in a rush.
