I'm sad I have to write this review about one of my favorite hoagie shops. I have been a long time customer of this location ever since it moved into to my area a year ago. Their subs are fresh (and USUALLY made to order) and their staff is USUALLY friendly. BUT I placed an online order today for the first time (I usually order there in person), and they gave me two completely different orders. And they forgot the pickle and drink as well (until I reminded them as I was about to be out the door). I realized it was the wrong order when I got home. I called in and spoke to the manager to try to resolve this. He told me to drive back to his business and give them the old subs and they would just remake the hoagies. I told him since I would be driving back, that it would be great if he would refund my money and replace my subs. He replies back by saying he will remake the subs and that we would discuss the refund....I was actually so dumbfounded by his reply, I had to just get off the phone. I figure this is common sense customer service, but apparently I was wrong today. Ridiculous customer service. Very disappointing. read more

We're in Baltimore, let's try somewhere we've never been so I can yelp about it! *looks over at Jimmy Johns* Me: Let's try it! DAMN WHAT A MISTAKE! I'm a vegetarian, so my choices were very limited. There was a vegetarian sub which contains: "Layers of provolone cheese separated by real avocado spread, alfalfa sprouts, sliced cucumber, lettuce, tomato, and mayo. (Truly a gourmet sub not for vegetarians only)." Quite a few fibs are happening here... layers? NO. gourmet? HA! I asked if I could take off the avocado spread and if I could have a different kind of cheese. The employee informed me they did not have other kinds of cheeses. OH RATS! They also were out of alfalfa sprouts. My sub contained cucumber, lettuce, and what appeared to be rotten tomatoes. Unlike a subway or other sandwich shops, they did not have a variety of veggies such as green/red peppers, banana peppers, spinach, etc. My sub was dry and lacked any taste. Same for my parents who got the Turkey Tom and the Vito. Thankfully, we had a big dinner planned and this was just a quick stop. Oh... the fountain drink was good! read more

I love Jimmy Johns in concept. I go to the one in Columbia for lunch at work. It's amazingly fast, and the sandwiches there never get screwed up. This JJ's could take a lesson from them. I've eaten in here, and the dining area was filthy. Furthermore, the trademark Jimmy John's speed was nowhere to be found. I was the only customer ordering and it took 15 minutes to make my (screwed up) sandwich. When I order the same sandwich by the one at work, during the rush, it's done before I can fish my card out of my wallet. (I am not exaggerating. Those guys are awesome.) Most frustratingly, I live literally 3 blocks north of this place. It's a 10 minute walk, but apparently I'm outside their delivery zone. Just don't go. Their subs are delicious, fresh and doesn't break the bank!!! Great alternative to Subway and McDonald's!!! Staff is fantastic and very friendly!!! Usually I'd be a little picky with what I eat, as I am a picky eater, but after trying my first sub sandwich on July 2012, it made me want to eat the tomato slices with the rest of my sandwich. I'll be paying them a visit again next time I visit Baltimore!!! read more

It is a fast food joint just a heads up like a subway or quiznos. The staff is extremely nice, I called about ten minuets before they closed and told them I was only a few minuets away. The guy said to get their quick and so I did. I got the #1 Pepe and a drink, I was very please with the price and the sandwich. It was a much enjoyed different experience from the other fast food sub joints I have gone to. The restaurant was clean and inviting. Didn't think once about it's sanitation. It is a few blocks from the UMD Medical Center, next door to Camden Yards and beside Baltimore Convention Center. So if you are at either of these places for whatever reason and even if your not your just around the inner harbor area and want a tasty sub then head to JJs. There will be something to have you leaving happy to make that day just all the more special. read more

Was in a hurry to get to a concert so Jimmy Johns it was! First huge compliment, my friend and I both noticed it right away, AMAZING tomatoes on the sandwiches. Incredibly fresh, red and juicy! I got the Roast Beef sandwich and I felt as if it had barely any meat on it and tons of lettuce as a filler. However, it was good. And their subs are pretty cheap. If you haven't been here, beware: they move FASTTTT! As their advertising states! I was actually a little worried I wouldn't be able to fully read the menu before I got up to the cashier to place my order. This is the second time Im visiting the jimmy johns location at the inner harbor on Pratt st in Baltimore, MD and I did not have a good experience. The first time I visited, the sandwich didn't contain any fresh items. Now today the food is still not fresh. I have absolutely nothing on my sandwich and had to go back to ask for onions. They charge you 80 cents for cheese and it's absolutely no meat on your sandwich. When you take the time out to spend your hard earned money you want to make sure it's worthwhile. I got absolutely NOTHING for almost $8!! I am utterly dissatisfied. Please do not patronage this business and waste your money. I beg of you. read more

I'm a vegetarian and always get some version of the #6 with no mayo and extra all the veggies. They did not disappoint with my customizations (except with the extra avocado - which always seems to be extra in price only). My mobile order was ready in minutes, despite being a very busy evening. It was basically ready in the time it took me to place the order and walk over from the convention center. The manager even called me to apologize for not having the 9-grain whole wheat bread in stock and offered me some cookies in response. This really showed me that this location cares about their customers They're very quick, even with a huge crowd all day long from a big event at the convention center. That said, they didn't seem prepared for said event (very stressed all around, out of certain ingredients) - maybe keeping an eye on the convention center\inner harbor event calendars would help. There's only so much you can have in stock, though, and they did a very nice job. Delicious & fresh sandwich, huge crisp pickles (the best!), fresh bread, fast service, kind manager, low prices (especially for this area). I'd recommend this JJ location any day. read more

I'm doing the Christmas Morning dance right now as I write this review! Dude! There's a JJ's right outside of Camden Yards now at the ground floor of the Hilton! Now I can step off the light rail and grab me a Beach Club before the game. Thank you Jimmy Johns for your most thoughtful location and cool staff. Everything is exactly how I remembered it from back when I was in College. Jimmy Johns was created in the early 80's in IL and has been a Big Ten staple ever since. I normally order the beach club because I love the combo of turkey, provolone, and avocado. You can add many toppings for free, such as sprouts and add others for a small charge, like extra meat or bacon. This place has better quality sandwiches than subway (which is across the street) but not as good as potbelly's or some of the other local delis and sandwich spots read more

Pretty good sandwiches on french bread. My favorites are the gargantuan which is loaded with meat and keeps me full for awhile or the beach club with turkey and avocado and the bootlegger which has roast beef and turkey. I checked this one out during lunch but service was pretty slow and they messed up my order. There is plenty of seating inside and outdoor seating is available overlooking Camden Yards which is nice. Not a bad place for a sandwiches but I think I prefer Potbelly's with their toasted sandwiches 2 blocks away. read more

There's a Jimmy Johns and Subway right across the street from each other. Looks like the gas station rivalry has hit the sandwich shop business. So Subway....or Jimmy Johns? Do you really need to ask? This was my first visit to Baltimore and I was directed to Jimmy's through Yelp. Based off it's solid rating I went to check it out around 9 pm and lucky for me it was quite a dead hour for them so I got my sandwich right away. I ordered a #4 which is their tuna fish. It was the freshest tuna fish sandwich ever, with lots of slices of tomatoes, lots of fresh lettuce, alfalfa sprouts and cucumbers. Although a tad on the dry side, the tuna was really good quality but I do wish there was something more like mayo, mustard or a little bit of oil to tie the sandwich together. Grab a bag of their chips too--I tried the salt and vinegar--they're up on par with the quality of kettle chips. The actual restaurant is clean and bright and the service is very friendly. A Jimmy Johns sandwich completely satisfied my late night craving and so though they may be a little more expensive than a Subway footlong, it's quality that you're paying for. read more

Superfast and easy online delivery. I was amazed at the speed of service. I put my oder at 12:58, I received my sub at 1:08 (I am 2 block away from the store). Awesome for delivery services! The quality is consistent, the ingredients are fresh, but I am only giving it 3 stars because the subs are really standards and you cant really make them your own, other than adding extra meat or extra bacon or cheese.. The other drawback is that they tend to get a little pricer as you start adding things up. Example chips $2. The service is always so "serious" Smile a bit would you? Being an original northerner, I'm a fan of a good sub and this was OK. I worked for a little bit not far from Jimmy Johns and our office ordered from their on a day that there was some ungodly rain and they delivered- ON A BIKE! So - that alone gets you two stars, and the sub was good so that's two more stars... What's keeping me from giving out that 5th star? They forgot my chips, promised me chips on my next order and now I don't even work remotely near there to take advantage... eh, oh well, they got the sub right and that's what matters. read more

Love the sandwiches. You can add hot peppers, cucumbers, cheese, sprouts, and condiments as well as subtract things you do not like. This isn't Subway so people who are complaining about not being able to customize need to get a life. The bread is better than any of the other chains and the meat/veggies are fresh. The person who complained about the chips costing $2 extra -- did you expect them to be free? My only complaint with this location is the service is slower than the other stores that I have been to (Columbia, College Park, Conway, SC). Perfect location in the Hilton by Oriole Park and you can bring the sandwich and chips into the stadium. #9 with cucumbers..book it. read more

I don't know what to make of this glorified Subway. They have a lot to pick from, and all of it looks good. I went during Otakon, which means it was the busiest weekend of the year in the Inner Harbor. I got a number 7, and it came out super fast. The sub was kind of small, but I'm a small person so it was enough. I paid for myself and my boy and spent around $17 after two subs and two drinks. While not unreasonable for the Inner Harbor, you simply do not get enough food for your money. Yes, the sub was delicious, but I feel it left something to be desired. Since I don't frequent that part of town often, I most likely won't be back there for some months. This isn't a place I would buy lunch from daily, as California Tortilla right across the street offers more bang for your buck. read more

My first time at Jimmy Johns near Camden Yards and it will be my last. It was a horrible experience. No one offered to help me no one asked what I wanted in the sandwich considering it was my first visit. After the sandwich was prepared I asked to have it cut in half. Who ever the little fella was rudely told me NEXT TIME TELL THEM WHEN U ORDER THE SUB! Only eat here if you are in desperate need of nourishment and can't walk 50 yards in any direction. So first, the food. I understand that "gourmet" is just puffery and doesn't need to be adhered to by the company but if all your ingredients are low end Sysco items then don't claim any greatness. The ingredients were mediocre. The bread was terrible. Specifically, it had a bagel like consistency to it. I'm not a fan of chewy sandwiches. The layout was terrible. Getting in and out is difficult and things like napkins are behind the counter. The writing on the menu above the counter is so small that you need to be right up on it to read it. This means a lot of people are blocking the line trying to find out what food is available. read more

It's a Jimmy John's. I will always have a soft spot in my heart for them considering I half lived on the #6 in college. This a good location, right by Camden Yards & the convention center. Easy to grab a quick bite for cheap if you are in town for a conference. The staff was nice, quick & the ingredients were all fresh. Lots of seating at this location. The cashier dude didn't seem like he was in the mood to take my order - practically sleeping as he keyed in my order with one hand and kept his head propped up with the other. A rather large, clean restaurant right in the middle of all the action. At 3p on a Wednesday I was one of just a couple customers so I can't speak to the service when it's busy. My sub was made fast and was as good as any other JJ's. Really the only issue I had with this location was just that--the location. It's on a corner right in front of a bus a train stop so there's a seemingly constant stream of homeless people and the usual downtown derelicts trying to use the bathroom, fill their cups up at the soda fountain, talk the cashier into a free sub or panhandle the customers. I give the manager credit, she had no problem Co fronting each one and running them off but not before it inevitably made everyone uncomfortable. I would never hold the store accountable for having to deal with this reality of being located downtown but it's nonetheless less than appealing when you're trying to eat. First world problem, tho, for sure, and the store deserves the stars. read more

Yeah I just ate my meal from this place and I have no idea what most of you guys are talking about. The employees there acted like it was play time and it took too long for our order to be completed. Secondly, these "subs" that were devoid of any meat and were expensive. And that bread was hard. I have seen that some of you have written that Baltimore stepped its game up when this place opened, but if you weren't so lazy or scared to venture outside of the Inner Harbor, you would have found better places to get a sandwich. You would even be better off walking right across the street and spending your money at Subway. I am thinking that many people who like this place enjoy tasteless food. read more

At the Marriott & decided to get something to eat. I'm a California person so when I went out it was too cold for me to wonder off too far & decided to just grab a sandwich at jimmy John's as opposed to chipotle. Bad idea! It's so loud there when the clerk preparing food asked something I couldn't hear. So I told him what sandwich I ordered and he rudely replied, "that's what I said". It's sub shop! Tasty tuna - lots of onion so beware if you don't like onion! Roll decent fresh sub roll. Service fast, lukewarm but not rude. If I waved a sub I'd go again. Overall better than Subway, but nothing spectacular. read more
