I feel like not every sandwich shop or bakery gets a BLT right but ovenbird does. Maybe it's the mayo, maybe it's Maybelline. This cute little bakery has so much more to offer, including the fresh baked bread, many other types of sandwiches, coffee, and the lot. Not lots of seating inside, but in the summer, they have four or five tables out. Good place to chat with friends.

The frustrating part was that I was never notified ahead of time, so I had no opportunity to make another selection before arriving. Since my friend doesn't eat chicken, I had to find another seafood option on the spot. Once I found something that would work, I had to pay an additional $15 and then wait another 20 minutes for the new order. I normally go to the Locust Point location and have never really had issues there, so I don't want this experience to give the impression that I think Ekiben is bad overall. This was genuinely just one bad experience. The food itself is still AMAZING. I'm obsessed with the Tacklebox, the tempura broccoli is , and the chili noodles are an absolute SMASH. I'll definitely still be back because I genuinely love Ekiben -- I just hope there's better communication when an item from a scheduled order is no longer available.

Bland, dry peasant food assembled merely to be tossed out the door, so salty that you imagine it was originally prepared for Columbus' voyage across the ocean blue. When the harbor is busy, it resembles a trough for Yuppies. Easily the worst deli ham I have ever tasted, the roast beef made me queasy every time I ate it, the sprouts are often brown and were recently the object of a lawsuit, everything is slathered in mayo by default, the oil tastes like nauseating chemical waste, only ONE kind of cheese, and if you are vegetarian and somehow possess enough faith to trust a Fordist assembly line with your dietary preferences you should take heed of the fact that all of their utensils make constant contact with meat and vegetable alike. This is made worse by the fact that Jimmy John's apparently thinks that vegetarianism is only for people on lean diets, because there is nothing resembling layers to this paltry little pockets of food waste. There are no options for customization (not even pepper), it is slung together haphazardly which makes errors frequent and the quality abysmal, The organization of the store is a fire hazard with food pickup, drink pickup, the only employee entrance/exit behind the counter, and the bathrooms all concentrated within the same narrow channel. The music is loud to a numbing degree (made worse by the uncanny echo), the food is filthy and disgusting, the management is rude and disrespectful (I once watched a general manager, some short guy with big puffy cheeks like a infant manchild, ridicule one of his employees for no other reason that wrapping the sandwiches a little slowly-- and not even reprimanding the employee to his face, just standing next to him and insulting him to one of the customers like they were having a good laugh at the worker-monkey; there was also some loud, obnoxious bro-looking Dude who kept yelling at the employees about how loose black women are-- a joke, I am sure, but a joke that is only 'funny' when a boss tells it). There were often children running around-- and considering the way I saw management treat their employees whenever I was ridiculous enough to try it or had friends who kept wanting to go, I don't doubt that is because they don't respect their employees enough to schedule them appropriately for their family needs, or pay them enough to be able to take care of their children. If you need cheap crappy food, there is no excuse not to go to the Subway across the street-- not only is the food hot, but you can actually get food you might not be able to easily make at your home from your refrigerator. And frankly, Jimmy John's may be cheap compared to other 'restaurants' but the food is really overpriced for what is being sold. If you bought the ingredients from the supermarket to make the equivalent to a Jimmy John's sandwich, it would cost only a little more and you would be able to make food for a week. The ham sandwich you make at home and bring to work with you is guaranteed to be better and certainly more personalized than what gets made at Jimmy John's. read more

Unbelievable with people dying and a surge of a pandemic this place allows customers to hang over other peoples food without a mask. I don't care if these idiot customers get Covid but they put everyone else in the restaurant in danger. Never ever will I go into another Jimmy Johns and if you want to stay Healthy I suggest you stay away also. The Hispanic guy with Seattle Seahawks stocking cap from California who thinks Covid is a hoax, you are the reason our hospitals are full. The sandwich I got was as thin as a piece of pizza.
