This Jimmy John's was pretty decent. I hadn't been to one of these in a while and was excited to try their new Gyro that Jimmy himself has been emailing me about. I was surprised at how good it was. Great sandwich. I found my self hungry and it was pretty cold and ugly outside and someone told me I could get here by walking inside the convention center from the Hilton. I gave it a shot and lo and behold, I made it and got myself a toasted chicken bacon ranch which was also delicious. The staff was friendly and I was served quickly each time. There were plenty of people working and I'd imagine they staff well during a large convention. But who knows for sure. The soda pop machine could use some help in the carbonation department, but other than that, it was a solid visit. read more

The ambience was decent, with Classic 70's and 80's hits playing quietly in the background. Even on a chilly winter day, the dining room was surprisingly comfortable. They also check the dining room regularly, wiping down tables, sweeping the floor and emptying the trash cans. The long and short of it, the team is efficient. They will prepare your order right the first time and call your number when it's ready. Don't look for chit chat. They are serious about moving crowds through here and putting sandwiches into hands. The doors were propped open as we arrived at 6:00. We made our way through the weed smoke and stepped over the 3 bodies sleeping in their doorstep Dude behind the counter says nothing but dies the cut throat motion to say they are closed. This store is in need of some attention. Weed and homeless issues and closing and turning away dozens of people and thousands of dollars. Came here on a Saturday and there was a line out the door due to the Comic Con convention. Waited about 30 minutes but it was worth it since they had solid, hearty sandwiches. The 'Spicy east coast Italian' on freshly baked white bread was delicious. It had a perfect bread to meat ratio, 1:2, fresh ingredients, and was flavorful and less caloric than most of the other sandwiches. But as I was leaving with my food I overheard a man Van who is black talking to Ben who looked Asian but possibly mixed talking about scoring that night. Jimmy John's is like a pumped-up version of Subway on steroids. They are within minutes of each other here and if attending an event at the convention center nearby it's a decent enough choice for a quick lunch. It's basically glorified fast food subs. Reasonably priced, and you have a selection of free toppings to add on your sandwich. Nothing here will WOW you, but the food here tasted ok. If we had a Jimmy John's in our neighborhood, my guy would eat there every week. As soon as he saw that there was one by our hotel, he insisted on going there the next day for lunch. He is in love with the lettuce wrapped double roasted beef "unwich". I've had it once and decided to try out just a regular sub sandwich and ordered the country club. It was pretty big and filled me up for the day. With that, we split some Thinny Chips, which are reduced fat and taste good. I loved the hot peppers on my sandwich I am a fan of the fast and friendly service, the low prices for lunch and the bread-less "unwich" options. Okay, so to start off I really just don't like Jimmy John's. I finish a sandwich and am still hungry, regardless of the size of the sandwich. That can't be good. That said, for fast food, it's healthier than mcdonalds, and somehow twice as fast. They never screw up orders, and despite what must be a high pressure job, the staff always seems friendly. I have not eaten at a Jimmy John's in over 5 years; although, they are popping up all over our area more frequently - I still haven't chosen it as a destination sandwich spot! On this particular occasion, I was unwilling to walk around Inner Harbor by myself prior to my work event in the Hilton Convention Center so I chose the restaurant that was directly inside of the building! This place is a life saver for con goers! Any time I'm at the convention center this is my go to place for a cheap and fast meal. Convenient location, fast service and they know how to handle a crowd. Food wise it's pretty good for the price. I always get the Pepe - a ham sub, a pickle and soda. Boyfriend lives off their subs when we go to the Harbor. The interior is cramped but there are tables if you're lucky to grab one or share with a fellow convention attendee. There is seating outside but be prepared to have some of the locals try and weedle money out of you. This place is more go in, get food, make way back to your hotel to eat/rest. Kudos to the staff for moving the line inside the Hilton this year during Otakon to reduce traffic into the light rail station/street. Had several line jumpers attempt to cut, staff refused them service and said they'd need to proceed to the end of the line. Nice to see staff who know how to handle this problem. read more

For a good fast food meal, Jimmy John's is hard to beat. Menu is simple: cold sandwiches, chips, cookies, and beverages. Is very tasty though and I really like both types of bread (the white bread is classic "sub" style, where the wheat is very thick sandwich style). Staff is friendly and service is quick. I have been to many in Georgia and Texas. This has been by far the worst experience with the Jimmy Johns ever. I ordered a totally tuna, always fast as usual, pleasant staff as usual. When i got to my office and opened my sandwich, i noticed about one inch on one side with no tuna and 2 inches on the other side with no tuna. I tried to spead what there was, bu there was such a little bit, i would be eating a vegetable sandwich with tuna as an after thought. Employees were all inside and looked at one another when we tried to open the doors, possibly in guilt for closing early when they weren't suppose to close early. FREE SMELLS!!! (my favorite sign of all time). Why is there no Jimmy Johns in Towson!? This place is delicious, better than your average Subway and even better than Potbelly's in my opinion. The bread is so fresh and soft and awesome, which I think sets it apart from these other sub shops. I get the Vito (Italian cold cut) or the turkey sandwich with sprouts and avocado (I don't recall the name off the top of my head). But both are delicious. Anyway, this location is clutch because you can grab a sandwich and bring it right into the O's game with you, they allow outside food in, FYi. It is way cheaper than the food in the stadium and it is way better than most of the offerings in there too. It does get crowded before/during the games though, so be prepared to see a line, but it usually goes fast. There is also outdoor seating and a bike rack (I always bike to the games). I've continually heard great things about the sammiches from Mr. Johns, so since I could walk there from work I thought I would give it a try. Nestled right next to Camden Yards, they get a ton of foot traffic and the line out the door both encouraged me and made me grown about the wait. What surprised me is that that very line was gone in under 5 or 6 minutes. With three registers humming they were pounding out orders as if... it was their job! /gasp But seriously, they were courteous and efficient. Since my order was simple I was even handed it while I was still paying for it. They get an A+ on the customer service. The ingredients in my Italian cold cut were fresh. The hot peppers were more than just your normal red hots, and the meat was of a good quality. The bread was very fresh but I've got to be honest.... I might as well have been eating Wonder Bread. It was the blandest hoagie roll I've ever had. As a fan of carbs, I won't eat that again. Price was good. Walked out with lunch and soda for under 10 bucks and got a sizable meal at that. Cherry Coke on the fountain always makes me smile as well. Apparently they do their sandies in lettuce wraps as well. That might be worth another shot but I certainly wont go out of my way. (3/30/2015) Regular subs are pretty thin, got the J.J. Gargantuan, that's a normal size, what you'd expect a full sub to be. Lots of mayo, which I like, but the way they build it, cheese first, meat inside leads to high slippage, the interior of my sub shot out the middle while I was eating eat it. Still, pretty tasty, I love the chewy French rolls and vinegar, def get hots for some zip. read more

I'm sad I have to write this review about one of my favorite hoagie shops. I have been a long time customer of this location ever since it moved into to my area a year ago. Their subs are fresh (and USUALLY made to order) and their staff is USUALLY friendly. BUT I placed an online order today for the first time (I usually order there in person), and they gave me two completely different orders. And they forgot the pickle and drink as well (until I reminded them as I was about to be out the door). I realized it was the wrong order when I got home. I called in and spoke to the manager to try to resolve this. He told me to drive back to his business and give them the old subs and they would just remake the hoagies. I told him since I would be driving back, that it would be great if he would refund my money and replace my subs. He replies back by saying he will remake the subs and that we would discuss the refund....I was actually so dumbfounded by his reply, I had to just get off the phone. I figure this is common sense customer service, but apparently I was wrong today. Ridiculous customer service. Very disappointing. read more
