When I order online for delivery and include a 20% tip prior to it happening, I would expect it to arrive at my door in a timely manner. What I got was a 35 minute wait, a phone call to the store asking for an update, a phone call from the delivery guy (from the store's phone number) telling me he'll arrive in twenty seconds and asking if I'll meet him in the lobby, then another phone call from the delivery guy five minutes later telling me my name wasn't on the call box, then an argument from him when I came out to the street and pointed out my name on the call box. I asked the cashier if they sold any day old wheat bread by the loaf. He replied that they do and any bread you see on top of the sub stations is for sale. I tried to order food here and they told me I was just outside their deliver area (I'm in the next block). The problem for me is I only knew to order from them as I have seen them deliver to my building. Either you have a flexible delivery area or you don't. Typical sandwich nothing fancy, bread is good, toppings can be scarce depending on who is making the sandwich - definitely not consistent. Its my go-to for a sandwich before WhichWich or Subway but this location fails at customer service - these guys have no customer service skills whatsoever. I was in Dallas attending the Boys Volleyball National Championships at the convention center. I was able to place my order by phone and the sandwiches were delivered to the convention center promptly! AWSOME! One of the best sandwich places by far. The downtown Dallas location seems to blow the other JJ locations out of the water with quality and speed. The food is delicious, the price is great, the staff is as friendly as can be, and the best part is they're open on the weekends and deliver as much or as little as you want. We order from these guys all the time and I've never been let down. It amazes me how nice the delivery guys are when I know they're sweating their b@lls off in the summer on bicycles. They definitely keep a bunch of starving paramedics happy. They always say they appreciate us for what we do, but we always appreciate them for taking care of us. When I asked if they could slice my $1.25 pickle instead of cutting it in quarters, the answer was no. There was not a clean table in the place and this was at 3 PM on Sunday with no one there. If I could rate lower, I would. Aside from the higher ratings on some sites which are most likely from local store management or employees trying to solicit bigger tips, I agree with every negative thing said about this location. Today, I ordered online and tipped 20%. One hour later, I still don't have my food. I called the store to ask about the status of my order and a very rude woman answered the phone. Without asking my name or confirmation number she told me it would be 30-35 minutes for my food to arrive. I responded that it had already been longer than that, and she simply replied that the delivery driver was "in transit". As I was about to ask her if they still had my order in the store (so I could just walk one block diagonally and get it rather than having to wait an obscene amount of time) she hung up on me. I am currently seeking a full refund because this kind of substandard service definitely doesn't deserve a 20% tip. Looking at the number of similar negative reviews it would seem that this location would benefit from new management. I can say beyond a shadow of a doubt that I won't ever be a customer here again, and I may write off Jimmy John's completely after such a poor customer service experience. read more

Concerning the Downtown Dallas store. Ordered over the phone from a menu given to us from a delivery of another associate. The price on menu stated 5.75 for the giant club sandwiches. We ordered 4. The delivery was fast and prompt. When looking at the receipt, we were charged 7.75 for each sandwhich. Called the store and talked to an associate and explained our concerns. That associate put us on hold and another person answered and we explained our concern of the 2.00 difference. It was explained to us that there is a delivery charge per item and that the price on the menu they put in the DELIVERY bag if for IN-STORE only. Good customer service would be to have them explain that when taking an order over the phone. Needless to say, we no longer will be ordering from this place again. read more
