Jimmy John's (or JJ's, as I refer to it) is the best sandwich shop in Utah. The best things about JJ's: 1. They live up to the "So fast, you'll freak!" motto. My sandwich is usually made and ready to go by the time I've finished paying. 2. The bread. I don't know if they put crack in that bread or what, but it's. So. Good. It's french bread, I think. I should also note that the salt & vinegar chips are the best I've ever had. 3. The prices are good. The sandwiches are 8", so it's a little more expensive than say, Subway. Oh yeah, also because it's BETTER. 4. The staff has always been friendly and knowledgeable. Any time I've taken someone new to JJ's, the staff is happy to explain the menu highlights. I went to JJ's all the time in Cincinnati, so I was happy to see that they expanded to Utah. The things I've listed above have been true both in Ohio and Utah. I'd recommend it to anyone. read more

I debated 1 vs 2 stars for this place. I have had better subs at Subway. These subs are just bland in my opinion. It is meat, some have cheese, and maybe lettuce. There are much better soup and sandwich shops in the community. I have actually dreamed about sandwiches ... true confession ... but Jimmy John's is not that sandwich. My main problem with this Midvale location is that they will not deliver on the west side of State Street. I get having limits on delivery areas, but Midvale is not that big of a city and they will not deliver to the west side, an extra minute out of their way. So not only was this place surprisingly bland, it was overwhelmingly not customer service friendly. West side Midvale, there is a Subway much closer than this joint by the Winco. Location: a little hidden but convenient, just west of Bucca di Beppo on the northeast corner of 9th and Fort Union. The Bread: Having spent a couple years in France, I appreciate a good baguette. And while Jimmy John's bread isn't the greatest thing I've ever had in my life, it's a delicious baguette-style white bread that far exceeds anything I've had from Subway or the like. The Sandwich: You can get a $4.25 or a $5.25 sandwich. I got the larger ($5.25) one and was thoroughly satisfied. Good meat, good cheese, good fresh veggies, and good seasonings. The Service: Holy smokes. They hadn't finished running my credit card yet and one of the cooks was handing me my sandwich. "Freaky fast" is right! That makes a huge difference for me when I need to grab a quick lunch and get back to work. Extras: I didn't see all they had, but the cookies are ok. Nothing to brag about, but a decent fix for your sweet tooth. Fountain drinks are Coke products. Bottom line: don't expect an out-of-this-world-great experience (like some people make Jimmy John's out to be), and you'll be delighted. I'm sure you won't regret trying out Jimmy John's, and if you're like me, you'll definitely be going back. I really enjoy Jimmy John's, I work long hours dealing with patients all day and it is so convenient to be able to just order a good sandwich and not worry about dinner a couple nights a week. So when I had an issue with my order, I didn't think it would be a big deal being that I am a frequent customer. So when I called to let the store know there had been a mistake and the turkey I meant to add to my Veggie Club wasn't there I was pretty confident that they would be willing to fix it because that's just how good customer service works. I know, I managed restaurants for years before going back to school. So when the young woman told me that they would do nothing to fix the issue because it was my fault and "not on the reciept" I was flabergasted. I was told I would need to go online and order an entirely new sandwich. Seriously? Yes, the mistake could very well be on my end, even though before I confirmed the order I'm pretty damn sure I saw ADD TURKEY listed on the customizations. But, and I emphasize the BUT, why not just fix it instead of loosing a loyal customer over $5? Customer Service goes a long way with me, mistakes happen but when they do, you fix it! Better than subway or the like. I was in Utah on business and stuck in a hotel room on conference calls on a Sunday. Desperately hungry and out of options (no room service) I called and begged for a sandwich delivery to the hotel, hoping to received my sandwich before my next call in 20 minutes. The delivery kid found the hotel and had the sandwich to me within 10 minutes. I wasn't expecting much and was pleasantly surprised with my #12 (Turkey w/ Avocado). This is an awesome Jimmy John's and I enjoy their sandwiches 2 or 3 times a month. I order online and it's literally 5 minutes or less before it's delivered. The drivers are very courteous and the sandwiches are great! The prices are quite reasonable as well. It's also extremely popular. The driver is at the building I work at in the Fort Union area at least 5 times a day. Anytime I go outside during lunch the driver is there making a delivery or you can bet that they'll be there within a few minutes. read more
