I work in Moorpark, and when I'm in the mood for a sandwich, Jimmy John's is my go-to place! Their food is always made to order, and tastes great. I love how they don't skimp on the veggies, meats, and cheese; they're generous about them! And the bread is simply marvelous. Tie everything together, you simply have a sandwich you wanna devour, no bells and whistles, just a great sandwich. Other than their awesome tasting food, a big reason why I'm a fan of this sandwich shop, is they deliver, even if it is just one sandwich! As long as you're within their delivery radius, you can have your food driven to you. I just call or order online, place my order, give a delivery time frame, and there it is. You don't have to go out for lunch break, lunch break comes to you. In the times that I have dined in, the staff is really friendly, and they always get my order correct. Gosh, my first time ordering from here and I really wanted to like this place too! We put in a phone order for the Beach Club and Club LuLu, both of which comes with turkey. Both looked exactly the same and tastes exactly the same. And both were so bland! No flavor at all except for the mayo, which was pretty boring. The girl that took the order over the phone asked if I would be paying with cash or credit. What does it matter?! Ok , I don't know... so maybe their machine wasn't working that day. Over price for such small not very substantial sandwiches. What I really don't like is that they are very similar to subway in that all of the bread tastes the same but what's even worse at JJ's they don't give you any cheese options. After my first review, I was contacted by the Ownership Team, asking how they could improve my experience at the Moorpark Jimmy John's. Just reaching out was the first step. So, if you want to know what I think, lets meet and talk about it. So we did. I just left the location after having a discussion about my observations from my first experience and giving them some information about our tight knit community here in Moorpark. All of my feedback was welcome and the person I spoke with was genuinely concerned and wants to support our small community. So, as a community, it would be nice to support them. Remember, buy, shop, and live in Moorpark! During our meeting, I was told about asking to have my sandwich "Jimmy'd Up"... Ummm, okay... What the hell is that? What that is, my fellow yelpers, is adding flavor to what was best described as a bit of a bland sub. 'Jimmying Up' your sandwich adds cherry peppers, onions, oregano, and vinaigrette. DAMN! What a HUGE improvement!!!!! After I took a few bites, I opted to add just a touch of salt to enhance the new found flavors, and again, it took it up a level. Had the sandwich had the salt added already, I would have no problem making this a 5 Star review. But for now, I'm gonna say it's a solid 4 1/2 Stars. I am so happy that I had the opportunity to try it again, and to be fair, I ordered the same sandwich I had on my first visit. #7, Gourmet Smoked Ham Club. Consists of 1/4 lb of applewood smoked ham, provolone cheese, lettuce, tomato, and mayo. But this one was 'Jimmy'd Up'. It was good... REAL GOOD. Looks like I now have a local sub shop I can frequent. And one I am happy to support as they support our community. If you haven't been, go. Check them out. Had never been here before. So my friend and I first went to Brick Oven Pizza a couple shops down. My friend has a medical alert dog and were told to leave immediately. See my review of that place. Jimmy John's employees super nice and knowledgeable of product and menu. Jimmy John's has no issues with having a service dog. They are lightning fast just like in the commercial. Restaurant is extremely inviting. From the bread to meats and toppings are spot on. Fresh and quality ingredients. They also have a rewards app. I highly recommend. Bathroom is neat too. Wow...... last time I had a Jimmy Johns was in Chicago I was on yelp looking for food and came across jimmy and it made my Saturday lunch with my wife. Finally glad to have a Jimmy John's in California and close to me. I first had them when we lived in Virginia and had been looking for one here. They've been open for several months now and I've been giving them time to get into the swing of things before writing a review on them. Really I could have done it from the first day they opened and I visited. They really do make the food super fast, and have yet to get anything on my order wrong. I have always used the app on my phone to order to help eliminate someone putting the order in wrong at the register. I also always order 3 at a time for the family, and of course each person needs their own custom sandwich. Again no issues and we visit several times a month. If I'm shopping at Target or Smart and Final, I can put in the order when I'm headed to the checkout and Jimmy John's will have it ready to go when I walk in the door. Swipe my card to pay and I'm out of there. Only one time did I have to wait but it was right at the lunch rush. We find the bread to be the best and of consistent quality. Sometimes at Subway you'll end up with a dry/flaky crust mess for the bread. Jimmy Johns bread is always soft and chewy, never dries the sandwich out. Also Jimmy Johns uses actual name brand condiments (Grey Poupon and Hellman's (Best Foods) Mayonnaise) Recommend you try the hot peppers on your sandwich next time. They've got a little kick to them but add a whole lot of flavor that compliments the sandwiches (especially the Italian Night Club and the Gargantuan). read more

I was in the area for an appointment and decided to stop in here after for lunch. I walked in and there was no one in line, which was awesome. I asked the cashier what he recommended that had turkey in it and he was very friendly and gave me some recommendations. I ended up ordering the #12 which is turkey, avocado spread, mayo, cucumbers, and lettuce. This is the reason I am giving it 4 stars and not 5: they won't put YELLOW mustard on your sandwich. Apparently the owner doesn't like yellow mustard, and so they won't put it on your sandwich. They offered me Dijon but I prefer yellow. They give you packets of mustard to put on yourself but that just isn't the same! When you go to a sandwich shop, you expect that your sandwich is prepared exactly to your liking. Not being able to accommodate a simple request as yellow mustard is kind of silly in my opinion. Just because the owner doesn't like it, doesn't mean that your customers won't. We just discovered this place and this is our new favorite sandwich shop! We love the Beach Club and the Veggie, so we have yet to venture beyond these, but they are delicious, so in due time we will try other items. The quality of each ingredient is wonderful, from the turkey to the cheese to the avocado spread, and the bread... especially the bread! I have been a fan of JJ for a long time. I am not a fan of this store. Tonight is the third time in a row that they got my order wrong. If they are working on a large online order, they will make customers in the store wait. That makes no sense. I am used to getting my sandwich before my credit card is even processed; at this store, I have time to sit down and catch up on the news or FB. This store doesn't have what makes JJ great. This review is based on the overall service and management - not necessarily the quality of their sandwiches. I like the sandwiches, although they are very strict when ordering. Almost as difficult as ordering soup from the "Soup Nazi" in the Seinfeld episodes (see some of the earlier reviews from others and you'll understand). So here's the latest: We purchased a package of four (4) gift cards from a non-profit auction during the summer of 2016. The back of the cards state - this card can be redeemed at the Moorpark location only. Cards will expire 11/1/2016. Each gift card was good for 4 box lunches. That's right, you get 4 sandwiches, 4 bags of chips and 4 cookies. The website states - comes with your choice of any slim, sub, or club, a bag of chips, a giant cookie & a pickle spear, all in a perfect, easy to carry box. On our first visit to the Moorpark location, the staff only allowed us to receive a slim or a sub sandwich, stating we were not authorized to have a club sandwich. Huh? On our second visit and further complaining on our part - we received our club sandwiches. Okay, we accept your non-verbal apology. On our third visit, they once again would not allow us to choose a club sandwich. Oh boy, not po-boy. In February 2017, I realized we had one card left and called the store. The manager on duty refused to accept the card. I was told to speak to the restaurant manager who also told me the same, but would check with the owners (only after being prompted by me). I was told once again no, the owners would not accept one of their own gift cards from their store location. Is this good will? Is this community involvement? These people have no idea how to work with the local community. They prefer that I complain. So, I called their corporate offices who in turn put me in touch with the business coach (an advisor) responsible for working with these franchise owners. He apologized and told me the franchise owner still refuses to cooperate, but he'll send me something in the mail for my patronage. Today I received $20 in gift cards. The expired card they would not honor was valued at approximately $40. Not exactly the same as 4 sandwiches, 4 bags of chips and 4 cookies, but I appreciate the effort. I guarantee you if I provided my expired Jimmy John gift cards to Jersey Mike's, they would not only honor them with great fanfare, but ask me if they could post pictures of them and this review of JJ on their Facebook page. I always order their tuna sub, which is made just how I like my tuna...... with minced celery and onion and mayo to hold it together. They also add lettuce, tomato and cucumber. The only thing I don't like about the tuna sandwich is that they give you a very small scoop of tuna, which is thinly spread out over the bread, which is 8 inches long. When I went into this location and just happened to mention it's not enough tuna for the size bread they offer, the employee making my sandwich asked me if I wanted more tuna. I said, "well yah, can I?" He said, "of course. There are others who ask for the same thing." I told him I'd pay for it, and he said, "no, that's okay. I'll just give it to you." I've been getting it with the extra tuna ever since...... and not paying anything more for it. I hope I'm now not getting anyone in trouble for it since I don't know if that's their policy, but I think it's darn nice of them to not charge me..... and it's truly my FAVORITE tuna sub anywhere. They now get a lot of business from me and my husband, especially since it's closer to where we live, but it's more because they are so nice about the tuna. read more

Wish there was a zero star option. Bread didn't taste fresh, and the sandwich is cheaply made in the sense that they pile on the cheap, crappy ingredients and are super stingy on the good stuff. I asked for more meat to make it a half decent sandwich and they want to charge me extra. They're making a subway quality sandwich but charging jersey mike prices. Don't waste your time or money. Jimmy John's in Moorpark has wonderful food and a great staff. I ate there last month but am posting now because I had some medical issues to attend to, including surgery. There were three staff members working but I cannot remember their names due to the time passage. I can say, however, that all staff, including the manager on duty, were awesome ... courteous, helpful and willing to do whatever it takes to make one's experience the best possible. I happened upon Jimmy John's because my roommate and I were in Moorpark for Michael's. I have a medical alert service dog for seizures & diabetes, as well as for anxiety & PTSD. We entered another establishment first and the owner refused to allow my SD into the restaurant ... which is against the law!! He insisted on seeing paperwork for my SD, which is also against the law!! We left that establishment and reported him to the ADA. That's when we came across Jimmy John's. Not only did the staff treat us with respect and courtesy, they didn't even ask the two legal questions allowed to be asked when they saw my dog's vest (which by law is not required to be worn but helps to bring attention to a working animal). They served my SD a cup of water as well! And on top of all this, their food is delicious!!! I highly recommend this establishment to anyone that's looking for a great sub sandwich and good service. read more

I've never had Jimmy Johns before yesterday. I went in and got the unwich (lettuce wrap) with turkey and it was delicious! Made correctly even with the extra onion that I had asked for. Staff was very friendly and went out of their way to ask how it was. Since I had such a great experience I went in today for lunch and got another unwich added roast beef to it this time. I usually hate roast beef but they have really good roast beef (so I highly recommend it) I also jimmy'd it up and my lettuce wrap was bomb. Staff was just as friendly my second go around. Ordered club lulu with avocado there was no avocado and I paid $1.00 extra for it. 2nd sandwich beach club missing cucumbers, avocado, and sprouts. We were the only ones in there at 6pm and couldn't get my sandwiches right. Called back to speak to a manager to advice him that they are new store in the area and the owner is looking to expand. Maybe get the right ingredients on the sandwiches customers would return. The managers response was "ok take it easy." "Have a good night." The lady that took our order Emma was great and the lady that gave me my order was also. I have been bragging about Jimmy Johns for a while now but after having it today and the response from the manager I won't be returning to the one in Moorpark. Wow I never thought I'd leave a review for a chain like jimmy johns but these new guys are the bomb dot com. I had a really complicated sandwich order for my office online and they handled it all so well. They were so nice in person that I made it a mission to come back with my sister. I'm pretty sure they're under new management and as all of us "yelpers" know, new management means best behavior, aka super clean, super friendly, and if you even think of another place to get your subs (say subway for example) you'd be trash.
