Love the variety of fun stuff you can get here. Lots to look at and browse through. Ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich and it just wasn't anything special. Too much bread to meat ratio. Maybe that's my fault, they do offer different bread options so I won't completely fault them on that. I could have ordered wrong honestly. I'd be willing to try something else in the future. Food was fresh, especially the bread. Service was okay, my sandwich came up and instead of the guy just grabbing it and handing it to me, he just pointed at it and said it was ready. Little awkward and not very customer service oriented. I wasn't to upset, just thought it was weird. Great drink selection here, even had some things I haven't see before. Oddly enough you can even get some CBD seltzers here if that's what you are into. At the end of the day I'd try it again just to compare.

Glad I was told to go here! Good service, good food and good prices! Definitely will go back!

End piece of the tomato in the sandwich. I just took it out and threw it away.

Tried the deli for the first time. The bread is a ciabatta which was a little dense so I didn't like that but that's more of a preference thing. Good amount of deli meat in the sandwich. The only negative is that I got an end piece of tomato I had the #19 which is a classic chicken. As you can see from the photo, the bread is a bit on the thick side. It had deli chicken, prosciutto, avocado and sweet peppers. I'd like to go back and try a different sandwich and maybe a different bread if they have that. The manager or owner was very polite and The sandwich was made quickly. The rest of the market is full of wine and snacks and frozen goods

Great staff and I can always find snacks, water, alcohol and other staples when I run out and don't feel like going to Albertsons.

Back then I was younger and on a budget, so I mostly stuck to a few lunch specials and never really explored the rest of the menu. That location has been gone for years, but recently I started going to the Old New York Deli in Camarillo. And now I'm realizing what I've been missing all these years. This is a real, old-school New York Jewish deli and bakery, and I've barely scratched the surface. Let's start with the everything bagels. They're in another class. You really can't compare a good New York-style bagel to something from the grocery store or even most of the bagel shops around here. The chew is different. They're moist, flavorful, and absolutely loaded with everything seasoning. I've been back several times now just to pick up a dozen. I used to think grabbing the double pack of bagels at Costco for six bucks was good enough. Nope. I'm ruined now. These are too good. I'll gladly pay more and actually enjoy the bagel. Then there are the apple turnovers. Astonishing. And the dessert counter is ridiculous. It's overflowing with pastries and desserts, and everything looks like something you want to take home. The staff has also been amazing every time I've been in. And I'm really just getting started. There are blintzes, all the deli classics, and a whole menu I somehow ignored when I was younger. Corned beef and pastrami are very high on my list for the next visit. My only disappointment is realizing I could have been enjoying this place for the last 25 years. I'll be back many, many, times.

Since we were already starving, we pivoted and just ordered drinks and baked goods. The drinks: I got the White Chocolate Mocha and it was delicious, perfectly sweet and smooth. My husband tried the Blended Mocha and said it was just okay (nothing special). The baked goods: The banana slice was really good, moist and flavorful. My husband grabbed the M&M cookie, but it definitely wasn't freshly made. It was still decent, just not amazing. On the plus side, we had no idea this bakery was so close to where we live! We'll definitely be back to give their breakfast and sandwiches a try, just next time we'll come with more patience and more time. Bottom line: Great drinks, good pastries, but factor in a long wait if you're ordering hot food. Worth a second chance for the full menu!

Then when you presented your predicament.... Your trusted Dad, with a grin on his face, looks you dead in the eyes and says "Son you're just gonna have to 'Dill' with it." Thanks Dad! Lol (Dad Jokes FTW) Now, let's all 'relish' in this moment ;) Well thankfully for you, all further Dad jokes shall cease immediately. Ok, just one more.... Let's get into the 'bread and butter' of this review. --------Dad jokes shall not pass this line-------- Speaking of being in a Pickle.... I seem to find myself at Pickles Deli & Restaurant in Newbury Park every time someone in our household is under the weather. Sure, DayQuil & Nyquil are great. And a nap in a dark room does wonders. But who feels like going to the kitchen when you feel like you've been run over by a bus to make yourself or someone in your family food when you just want to lay down and sleep. *Pickles Deli to-go counter has entered the chat* Yes! There is just something about Pickles house made chicken noodle soup that will make everything better! Pro Tip: Squeeze some from fresh lemon to give it a zing all while adding a little boost of Vitamin C. This along with their complimentary bagel Crisps and a big cup of their fountain sprite/7up and you will get you back to your old self in no time! Of course, Pickles Deli and restaurant is more than just their delicious chicken noodle soup from their to-go counter when you are not at your best. They also serve up Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner daily where you can get your expected Deli specialties such as lox and latkes for breakfast or their corned beef, pastrami, and beef brisket sandwich's for lunch and/or dinner just like at a true New York delicatessen. Yes, they've also got house made matzo ball soup! Of course, these are just the specialities, so be prepared as their menu has a wide range of items that will make everyone in your parties belly smile. And after you are all done stuffing your face with all of the savory stuff, be sure to stop at their glass case line to grab a sweet treat for the way out. So......... The next time you are in a Pickle... You can always go to your Dad and pray that he gives you some sound advice (or maybe just a Dad joke to at least make you smile)... But after that, bring him or whoever is willing to join, to Pickles Deli and enjoy a good, hearty meal that will be sure to temporarily help you forget about that pickle you're in. ***Dedicated to my late Father whose witty humor always made me laugh. Unfortunately upon walking in I was informed they ran out of giftcards. Definitely a bummer that at the height of the holiday season they aren't stocked and lost some easy money. Also inconvenient for me as I had to run to another store. Lastly, I appreciate when businesses put a sign on the front door that they are out of something, I understand they don't have to do this, but I've seen other businesses do it and it's really helpful. For example, a sign saying "systems are down cash only" or "out of gift cards", etc. It would've just been nice to know before I went inside and ordered the sandwich because had I known upfront that they didn't have the gift cards I would have waited to ordered food at their other location. Hence docking a star. Otherwise this isn't a bad location and it's definitely clean inside and they serve up a classic tasty sub sandwich. Staff have always been friendly here and nice overall. The gal that made my sandwich today was a good active listener and crafted my sandwich to perfection. Truly jersey mikes are a super solid sub! I love the fresh sliced deli meat and the toppings. Bread is always fresh which is a must. Overall the sandwiches here are 5 stars in my books for a chain sandwich spot. Other comments are just that this location is pretty small. It's a bit cramped inside and when you come during rush hours it can feel a little squished. I keep in mind to come to this location before the rush, otherwise I go closer to home to one of their more spacious properties. If you're not dining in it's not a big deal but just worth noting because even today with myself and another customer inside it feels crowded. Happy to at least have this option when I'm on this side of town. Nice staff, clean facilities and a good bite.
