Jimmy P's Charred is a unique place in Naples. Half is butcher shop and the others is the restaurant. Separate the walkway to the restaurant and the butcher shop is an island full of wine - mostly red wine. The butcher shop specializing in Wagyu beef, Heritage Berkshire Pork, Poultry, lamb, veal and other game meats. They make their own deli meats, baby back ribs, smoked sausages and other gourmet items. You can clear see the butcher operation with freezers full of premium quality meat, sausages, soups, fishes, snow crab legs, octopus and other seafood items. As you walk in toward the restaurant side, it transforms into a casual steak house with thick wooden table without table cloth. There is small bar area where you can enjoy your meal as well as table service. Several outside tables were available. We went in for dinner. Our server, Bruce, is very attentive and very knowledgeable about the Naples area cuisine. He correctly called the Wagyu rather than Kobe beef. Wagyu loosely translated to 'Japanese cattle'. So, Wagyu refers any cattle that bred in Japan or the Japanese style. Kobe beef is very particular strain of Wagyu called Tajima-Gyu from Hyogo. I believe the capital city of Hyogo is Kobe. Hence the name of Kobe beef. To cool off we have Stella and Blue Moon beers while we enjoy the bread with creamy cherry and mascarpone butter. No seafood tonight! We went for Wagyu A5 Strip, Rib Eye and petite Filet Mignon with creamy spinach, truffle fries and potatoes Au Gratin. As expected, the Wagyu A5 strip melt in your mouth with a buttery flavor. The Rib Eye steak and filet mignon are second to Wagyu A5 strip but perfectly grilled or charred. The creamy spinach is delicious while the shoe string truffle fries with the steak meat sauce and the potatoes are phenomenal. We were so full with our meal and completely skip dessert! Jimmy P's Charred is in a class by itself. Excellent service and quality meat. You will love this steak house but be warned it is on the pricey side for dinner! read more

We stopped by here for lunch one Saturday after hearing about the Japanese A-5 wagyu burger from Martin on Yelp! We tried it and it was one if not the best burger I have ever eaten. The meat was so delicious, moist and full of flavor. The staff was attentive, quick to greet you and help you with any suggestions. They were so friendly and knowledgeable about the food. I watched as they interacted with other guest and was very impressed. I am looking forward to trying their Bonita location. read more

A most disappointing meal. My Waygu steak was ordered medium and came out well done and had no steak flavor. Sort of a chalky taste. The onion straws were cold and it was served on a cold plate. The steak was difficult to cut with a steak knife. My wife said her burger was nothing special and the fries were not warm. The table next to us had a group of men who were so loud and obnoxious (dropping F bombs etc.) They were out of control. Management did nothing to quiet them as they ordered lots of wine and expensive food. The moment you enter, the ambiance is subdued and elegant, but not stuffy or pretentious. Our server was polite and attentive, guiding my friend Sue and me through the menu. Monday at Jimmy P's Charred is prime rib night. Not just any prime rib but wagyu prime rib. A prime prime rib as it were. The prime rib comes in two serving sizes 16 and 20 ounces. Served with mashed potatoes and asparagus. Mrs. K likes her beef served medium well done. I asked if they had an end cut available as this is usually the most done piece of the roast with a bonus of all the spices on the outside. They had one but it only came in the 20oz cut. Mrs. K. and I also spit a Cesar salad. Very good. Since this is a Monday only deal I would tell you to make reservations. But it was not crowded and I do believe you can walk in and score a table. Tried to get in on a Friday evening to no avail, I was told I needed a reservation. Made a reservation for Sunday evening. We were sat down right away and greeted by the waiter in a timely manner, he was very good and attentive. We ordered drinks and a couple of appetizers, the pork belly on crispy bao buns and the escargot. Both were great. Our problem started with the steaks. We ordered 2 butchers cut boneless ribeyes medium rare and a New York strip also butcher's cut and also medium rare. My ribeye was perfect my wife's New York strip was however more black and blue. My son's ribeye was overcooked and it was an end cut. We called the waiter and pointed it out, so he returned it to the open kitchen where my son saw the chef and waiter interacting. Another steak was sent out to him and this time it was practically raw. My son being a chef picked up on the end cut right away. The manager happened by our table to ask how everything was. After we were finished with our meals, the manager said he would take my steak off of our bill. That would not rectify the situation and we insisted that we pay for our entire meal, which we did. Had an exceptional meal and experience back in May of 2022. Visiting Naples again we decided to go back. We were seated at the smallest table in the restaurant that was extremely uncomfortable. We made reservations in September for November. I asked to move to another table but was told they were reserved. They were all eventually filled with 2 people. My filet had fat and grizzle at the end. I told the manager and he said that happens with "end" cuts. Unfortunately my experience was that I'll never go back there or recommend Jimmy P's. I have eaten at Jimmy P's several times, and have always enjoyed the food and service. I ate there again tonight, and had a great time: the escargot were very good, Caesar Salad, and the 16 oz. wagyu strip steak was excellent. BUT, I ordered a bottle of wine and when the bill came, it was on the bill at almost 50% more than on the wine list. I didn't notice this until I was about to sign the check, and then mentioned it to the waitstaff. after a few minutes, he came back and said I was right, so therefore he had taken the wrong price off the bill and charged me the correct price, claiming that it was an error that someone had put in there system, but no harm now, as it was resolved (at least on MY check). We asked for the manager, and when he finally came by, he also claimed it was a computer error and that there was no harm because WE caught the problem! When we asked if he could give us a discount for a future visit, he said he did not have the authority; interesting in that earlier in the conversation he had said they were trying to figure out if my check had already been run, in which case all they would have been able to do was give me a discount to a future visit. serious case of double-speak here. I want to know: how many other people have been overcharged at Jimmy P's because they haven't closely reviewed the bill? normally, I would not complain or write a poor review, but the management's complete lack of customer service was appalling. The exterior took me off guard as the restaurant is in an old shopping mall but there is more than meets the eye, once inside, you are transported to a quaint and warm enviornment. Excellent 3 course meal and superb service! Love the rustic feel and stepping into the butcher shop, felt very european. Our server's name was Chris, he was personable, told us the history of the butcher shop, had the menu memorized and provided excellent advise! Thank you Chris for your attentiveness! On the fence about this review. I rated lower for several reasons.We came in for lunch last weekend (6/21/20) with a group of 7. We arrived in Naples from FLL for a family staycation at our annual time share and needed to get a quick lunch in before our rooms opened. It was completely our fault for not calling ahead for a table reservation but seeing as majority of us haven't really been "out" it wasn't something we were too worried about. They weren't terribly busy and happened to have a table available to accommodate us. We were sat in the middle of the dining area which was fine. Upon entry it looked as if they had a deli/to-go situation in one half of the place and the restaurant in the other half. No signage telling people where to go. They have an awesome selection of meats to purchase in refrigerators around the market area. I did notice a few tables that had signage and weren't being sat to respect physical distancing which was nice but the only person I saw wearing a mask amongst the staff was the hostess. No other staff member in the restaurant, including the deli area and kitchen staff had a mask on. I was very uncomfortable the entire time and had it not been for being hangry and being with family I definitely would have left. I also didn't see anyone walking around wiping high touch surfaces either. The food was decent. Portions of all the meals were huge! I got the Cobb with grilled chicken and ended up taking half home. However, all of the burgers ordered weren't cooked to the specifications requested. Mostly overcooked. I'm not one to send food back in general but we weren't going to send anything back since we were all super hungry and due to COVID. I also inquired about a beer on draft to our server when she came by and asked her for one and the beer never came. Trying to be understanding and patient with the current climate and everything that's going on right now but the experience wasn't overwhelmingly safe and I'm not sure I'd feel confidant returning to this establishment next time we're in town. read more

This place did not disappoint. The drive was well worth it. We ordered the steak special that was salad with a NY strip. The dressing is balsamic vinegar. Was able to share it with my husband. The steak is really thick. And the kids got burger which was a good size. I wonder what the adult size would be. They said the burger is waygu. Definitely great price for the burger. So for those not comfortable dinning out please order take out. We sat in a booth , there were people right behind and in front of us plus table next to us. Maybe it only meant for one person so not to be share. There were only 5 pieces of pork belly for $16, octopus one tentacle and too charred for another $16. We wanted different steaks but due to covid they only had limited selection, which was disappointing but understandable. The main entree was good. My friend and I had heard about this place and had to try it. I had ordered the burger special and my friend ordered the brisket but wanted it without the fixings. Our order came out incorrectly but close to what we asked for. We mentioned it to the waiter and the owner came over and was going to comp the meal. I had very high hopes for this place and I left pretty disappointed. We ordered off the lunch menu at the counter and grabbed a table outside. My colleagues sandwich was ready in about 10-15min while my wrap took 35min. The buffalo chicken wrap had good flavor and the sauce was a great balance between spicy and flavor. The chicken however was chewy and tough. The tortilla itself was covered in sauce so it was extremely messy as well. The coleslaw was above average though and I enjoyed it. Oh Happy Day! The question of "Where's the Beef in SW Florida?" has been answered. And the answer is: Jimmy P's Charred! I now know where I'm bringing my husband the next time he's channeling his inner carnivore. I've had Jimmy P's Charred bookmarked for a while now. Yelp friends, Martin N, Darrin B, and Matt P have all written great reviews and I was excited to see what they offered in person. The opportunity came when a trip to the Naples Zoo was planned. We decided to have lunch and then head to the zoo. The strip mall location doesn't immediately hint at the treasure inside. However, the parking lot was jam packed full. One industrious, although perhaps unwise, patron had opted to park in the grass adjacent to the egress by the road. Take your time coming and going and it shouldn't be too much of an issue. If you need to search for a parking slot, believe me, it's worth it. The entrance to the restaurant is also the entrance to the attached butcher's shop. When we arrived, there was a ten-minute wait for a table. We browsed the meat cases and I started to get an excited buzz. Everything looked great and I started planning to put a cooler in the back of the vehicle the next time we were going to visit, so we could bring some meat from the butcher's shop home to Cape Coral. When our table was ready, we walked into the crowded dining area and got a very good impression. Everyone looked very happy and every place my eyes settled gave me something new to consider. The lunch menu and the daily specials had many tempting entries. The table to our right said they were regulars and gave a list of personal favorites. The table to our left said they loved everything on the menu and you couldn't go wrong. My eyes were telling me it was the truth. With so much to choose from, the only problem was settling on an order. Eventually, I decided on a Philly Burger from the daily specials. It was a veritable mountain of meat with a heap of Wagyu steak over a Wagyu burger and topped with provolone cheese, mushrooms and onions. I had them hold the peppers. Every bite was amazing with juicy, full-bodied, flavor that comes from very high-quality meat that has been seasoned and prepared by an expert. It came with a side and I chose Cole slaw, which was also very good. At $15 this was a great deal. I would have thought that at least half would need to be boxed but, truth be told, I ate every bite. The restaurant was running smoothly and was very clean. Service was great and we were checked on regularly. Jimmy P's Charred absolutely gave me the experience that earns them 5 stars. I thought it was crazy that no one was wearing a mask. We have been out several times during the pandemic and every other restaurant we been to had masks and distance between patrons. My wife ordered a medium rare steak and it was cooked medium. It was very good but nothing special . I ordered surf and turf. Lobster was awesome but my medium steak was over cooked.
