First of all one of their workers with the mastche and tattoos is so cute which is always a plus for the ambiance. It didn't take long to get our food. About 5 minutes and they brought it out to where we sat since we dined in. First of all! You need to get an aguas fresca. We got the medium for the orange mango and the Jamaica. They are so natural. I'm a huge fan of artificial flavor so this was a huge shock, but it pairs so well with their food. My only regret isn't getting the large. For the food we got the burrito 2.0 asada and the chivichanga chicken. The burrito was great but very heavy on the beans. Make sure you get extra green salsa. It's their best and a perfect balance of salty with a hint of sweet. The red salsa gets spicy. If you can't handle hot Cheetos don't eat it. Now the chivichanga thing was perfect. It's so tiny but the fact it's about $5 was perfect. I have never had something so well priced and portioned before. The way I can describe it if you ever wanted to taste high class Taco Bell that will make you want four more then you need to try it. And I mean this in the best way possible. It's so cheesy and savory and yummy!!! Truly just from these two dishes we will be coming back to try the rest of the menu. Our next dishes is to try the tacos!

We ordered caramelos with the poblanos inside, as well as their horchata. Tortillas are some of the best I've had. Super soft and flavorful from the grill. The fillings and salsa were good too, but it was really wet, and the bean ratio especially compared to the meat, was a little off. Always am going to want more meat. Horchata was unique since it was coconut based. Overall solid spot with patient staff. Tacos La Rueda is still better, but will be back when in Long Beach.

It's normally taco Tuesday or dinner. It wasn't busy when we arrived. Mainly everyone was seated outside which we wanted a table as well. There was one that we were interested in and asked if we could have it which the waitress working was ok with. But it needed clearing up. It took a while for someone to come out and clear and clean the table up. It was fine waiting but it was like did someone forget about us. Anyways. We got seated and then the waiting continued. It could be that they were short staff but it seemed like there was only one person working. It took a while for someone to finally come back and acknowledge us and take our order. After that the chips and salsa were brought out. Once we ordered the drinks it was easier to place everything together. Menu for happy hour is pretty limited. A few drinks and beer on drafts and for food, maybe 6 items on the menu. Went with an order of the street corn which was quite tasty. An order of the mole chicken nachos and the queso dip with barria. Out of the three, the queso dips and the street corn were great. Nachos were good but nothing really major. The flavors of everything were quite tasty. Dishes were 12.00 an item. For happy hour, it was decent and what we had was good. The service was pretty slow at the beginning. Only the front patio and inside seating was available as the back patio wasn't open. We did start to see other staff walking in so maybe there was only one staff during the time.

Not impressed by anything we ordered, given the competition locally…read more I will drive to Acton, CA (124 miles round trip) for their chicken tortilla soup ... bringing back 3 quarts of it after our meal is done. The soup here lacks the tastebud awakening zip that Don Chato's has. The ono fish taco experience was my fault... I hate fried fish taco, so I had lofty expectations, but due to the fact that I do not prefer corn tortillas, guacamole or raw onions, led to much disappointment since It has all three. Totally my fault. The butternut enchilada was lacking in the expected savoriness... this is being polite. The potato taquito was okay... but I am not a taquito person, so if you are I would seriously encourage you to try it. The star of the table was the Mexican corn. It may not compete with Cornman in Lincoln Heights, but it was decent. I scraped off the onions and toppings on the ono tacos, put the fish on the flour tortillas that another person didn't want, and topped the fish with refried beans, street corn and a but if the chicken tortilla soup broth to make due. When you are driving more than 30 minutes for this experience, I think you would agree that it was less that a proper way to celebrate a birthday. Oh and if there isn't any street parking. It'll cost you about 9 bucks in the lot. I didn't use the restroom, so I cant review its cleanliness. Our waitress was flawless taking orders and delivering food The restaurant itself has a great layout and an outdoor courtyard complete with propane heaters and umbrellas - I loved that... but my favorite part was out front, no not the seating area in the former parking spaces, nope... it was the collapsed woman on the sidewalk, walking her dog with snot running out of her nose because she was huffing some aerosol can of whatever. This truly set the mood upon arrival. Two stars for being close to a lot of other food choices to visit afterward.

Palapa next door offers the same food menu but has more drink options. Many opted for outdoor seating on the terrace due to the gorgeous views, but not wanting to wait we agreed to indoor seating. The interior of the restaurant is also very beautiful. The bathrooms were too dark for my tastes though. Our waitress was absolutely phenomenal, super friendly and anticipating all of our needs (water refills, leftover containers, etc.). Service overall by all staff was friendly. We were actually presently surprised with the taste of the food, thinking it might be more Americanized but they actually had very authentic and tasty totopos (tortilla chips). The tomato salsa that came with the chips was also very refreshing. We asked for hot sauce too and the house habanero salsa really packed a punch! We ordered carne asada nachos, pork belly chilaquiles (from the brunch menu), a breakfast burrito, poke, and steamed clams. The steamed clams came in a rich tomato broth and the breakfast burrito was massive. The poke was just okay and the chilaquiles a bit too soggy for me, and the carne asada nachos a bit dry. Nonetheless, presentation and portion sizes were respectable. The last comment is that food here is quite pricey but that reflects the likely high rent of a restaurant in 2nd and PCH. Ola still exceeded expectations and provided a more than pleasant meal.

So I had to return it . I the ordered a Coronita Margarita and that is/was tasty. They do have many different offerings of tequilas. And honestly fairly priced. I started with the Fondido de queso basically a Chorizo fondue. It was very good, only the chips were stale. Not all the chips so just so you know, I ordered the chicken mole enchiladas. The service has been very accommodating. The flavor from the mole was perfect, smooth rich a touch of heat and chocolate. Very flavorful and with the sides of black beans and rice, a tasty pairing. There is side of sweet corn , completing the plate. Great dish. I arrived at 1130 which apparently was the best time. By noon the place was packed and jumping. TVs for the games and plenty of room, so not so crowded despite the amount of people. Great place for a date , or family/friends gathering.

The margaritas are excellent, which is honestly what has kept us coming back despite repeated negative interactions with the same hostess lady over the years. This isn't based on a single visit. In 2022 after our daughter suffered a stroke as an infant, we would occasionally bring her in a stroller and simply ask for a table where we wouldn't be blocking walkways or inconveniencing other guests. Even then, we were consistently met with an attitude that made us feel like we were inconveniencing her by asking for a simple accommodation. Most recently, on April 24th, my husband and I came in for a date night. We were told an estimated wait time and received a text when our table was ready, but we missed the notification and checked back in about 10-15 minutes later. We completely understood that our original table had been given away. We were then seated at a table we weren't comfortable with and politely asked if we could wait for another option. We made it clear we were willing to wait. Instead of being treated courteously, we were met with eye-rolling, dismissive responses, and a tone that made us feel unwelcome. When I later asked if there was an estimate on the wait, I was again met with a curt response that felt unnecessarily hostile by the same hostess. At that point, we decided to leave. What disappointed me most wasn't the wait or the table assignment. Restaurants get busy, and we understand that. It was the feeling that, after years of visiting this establishment, we were treated like an annoyance rather than valued customers by the same hostess lady. One would hope that being married to a manager would inspire higher standards of customer service, not the impression that basic professionalism is optional in the hospitality industry. Great margaritas bring people in. Consistently good customer service is what keeps them coming back.
