Ahhhh, as I write this I am in a carb-induced coma from today's Chicken Pot Pie special (with two sides, I had mac & cheese and sweet potato fries). I've lived in Brighton for nearly 2 years and have been eyeing up Jim's the entire time. I finally decided to go one morning and it did not disappoint! Cafeteria style is how they roll, grab your silverware, tray, and get to ordering. I landed on the 2 eggs anyway breakfast. I chose poached eggs, bacon, home fries, and English muffin for around $10. I left full, satisfied, and happy! The eggs were cooked perfectly, the home fries seasoned beautifully, the English grilled and the bacon was crispy. Will definitely be back! read more

Good food, Friendly folk and local. Go! We had just moved our niece into her apartment for school. Stopped by as it was close and good reviews - that were spot on. You order when you come on, the guys behind the counter were attentive, fast and did great work. My wife had eggs with home fries, they were what I want from a diner and so good - a little kick to them. I had a burger with fries, ( I just moved a lot of boxes and furniture so I needed protein and carbs) and wow was it good. As I was paying the check at the end of the service line, I asked about the blueberry muffin that looked amazing. "baked fresh here" was the response ! I said we all love they way the looked and smelled. Halfway through the meal -- one showed up. WOW. Smart. One of my favorite spots in Brighton! A no frills diner with just the right amount of grease in every bite. I've been going here for years and I've tried many different things but I usually go for their lunch offerings. The buffalo chicken wrap is perfect, spicy fried chicken tenders and bleu cheese dressing. The fusion wrap is also a favorite with onion rings inside of the wrap, genius. Prices are reasonable and the food is always good. The salads are also huge and fresh. Everything is fresh and everyone is always friendly when you go in. Tonight I got the Baked cod loin with cracker crumb topping. Comes with a choice of two sides. I got the mixed vegetable primavera and my favorite, Buffalo chicken mac, and cheese. I stopped in looking for lunch. I was greeted warmly as I entered by the young men behind the counter. Jim's offers several sizes for their dinner platters. I love that touch because everything has gotten so expensive these days. I had a small roast turkey platter. I didn't expect much because I ordered the smaller size. It came with two sides and stuffing. Honestly they gave me a nice portion of food. When I went to pay the friendly cashier offered me rolls and water. Although there were a multitude of options, maybe too many, and while the hamburger that I ordered looked delicious, it was dry and tasteless. My son ordered small chicken Parm, which was supposed to have pasta, but did not. Recently moved into the Brighton area and I walk by this place every evening once the bus drops me off. I went in the other day spontaneously to find that it is such an adorable mom & pop type of place filled with the aroma of comfort food. From mac and cheese, to chicken pot pies, to meats + sandwhiches, this place really has it all. I ordered a Farmer's special with french toast from this restaurant via DoorDash and they sent me inedible garbage that I couldn't even eat safely because they left an entire egg shell under the top of my French toast!!!! An egg shell that I was lucky to discover! Since I only discovered it as I was cutting into it! This is completely unacceptable and this place should not be as highly rated since they don't have basic quality control. After visiting this place 3 times within a seven day period, it earns a solid 4. The first thing you notice is the line while at the restaurant which is always a good sign. Second, it has the old diner look which I absolutely love. And third, the choices are very plentiful - something I always look forward to. Their pickles are pretty good which most places don't have good pickle slices so brownie points for that. Oh, and the customer service: very friendly, very professional, and warm. The only two things that took away from a 5-star deli for me was: the buffalo wrap I had was a bit too large and come undone quite quite with the bottom being a bit of a mess; as opposed to more steamed wraps that hold in the contents better. The last piece, did not like the bread for subs. Sadly I ended up tossing a good portion of a sub away for its bread. It's not that Philly cheesesteak style bread, that's sort, moist, and full of flavor; instead it's a plain sub that takes away. The definition of meat and potatoes. Takes basic bitch and makes it perfect. Everything on the menu is the platonic ideal. That's a Rueben. That's a Caesar wrap. That's Shepard's pie. That's a steak tip sub. This omelet should be in dictionaries. I think I saw a picture of this burger in the Encyclopedia Britannica. There are no frills, because we're being serious here. Your food will be made quickly by good people and you will enjoy it in a clean, well lit place or take it with you in a brown paper bag. It will cost market value. Trudging through the Arctic blast of below freezing temperatures, I made my way to Jim's Deli & Restaurant for breakfast one morning. It's inconspicuous exterior made me hesitate before entering but when I peered through the window and saw that almost every booth was occupied, I knew I had come to the right spot. I was immediately and warmly greeted by Jim himself. It took me a moment to take in the entirety of their menu but I finally settled on a breakfast sandwich with two fried eggs, bacon, and cheese on an Everything bagel. It was made fresh to order and served with a side of home potatoes. I took my tray to the end of the counter to pay, got a cup for some coffee, and then found a seat. The breakfast sandwich was delicious and filling, especially for the price ($5). I found the Home potatoes to be lackluster but then again, I'm not a big fan of boring breakfast potatoes. All in all, Jim's Deli & Restaurant is a great little spot in Brighton center. Keep up the good work, Jim! read more

10:30AM Saturday the line wraps around the booths! Solid comfort food with nice guys working the grills. The menu is endless! Eggs benny and a grilled blueberry muffin for $13 and some change. My eggs benny came out hard boiled unfortunately. I don't recommend the eggs benny because the hollandaise is flavorless, the one large slice of ham is bit sad, and the English muffin was way too chewy. The menu can be a bit overwhelming which can be good or bad depending if you like choices but newbies can hold up the line while deciding what to order.
