    Jalapeno Poppers

If you're in the mood for a classic American diner experience and happen to be in Brighton, Jim's Deli is perfect for you. The small plates they have are 10.95 and will definitely fill you up. We got the brisket with Mac and mashed potatoes and the meat loaf with vegetables and mashed potatoes. Both were delicious. The stand out for me personally was the jalapeño poppers. Normally, they're too oily and greasy for me but Jim's were crunchy without being oily. A must try!

It got busier a few mins later. This was on a Friday morning around 9:30am

I went on a Friday morning at 9:15am. Found a parking spot in front. You could smell the food from outside. Inside it reminds me of the school cafeteria but with delicious food. It was way busier than the photo I took just a few minutes later! Very diverse. People ordered a lot of different meals and they all looked delicious. You go in, grab a tray and silverware, they cook and pass you your food, you go to the end of the line where they have drinks to pick from, then you pay, then sit down. You leave your tray at the table. Great experience overall. The food was so good we will definitely be going back!

    Jim's Breakfast Burrito

If you are looking for a dive on a Sunday morning you have found it. Your basic deli with a grill. Upon entering I took a tray and wondered if the tray had ever been washed. The tray felt greasy. I had the Jim's am burrito. I was not sure what I was going to get. It had this peculiar taste which I think was from the salsa. I would have to have it without to be certain. The choice on the burrito was ham, bacon, or sausage. I went with the ham because I thought it was the safest. The prices were reasonable which they should be. I can't imagine they spend any money on anything but payroll. There was no service to speak of since orders were placed at the counter. I was not impressed by the place. Stay away.

Best Reuben I've ever had. Thick slices of corn beef the perfect amount of thousand Island and sauerkraut. So glad I found this place!

A true gem in brighton! Great service and great place to pick up some good food for a reasonable price. Love the Rachael wrap and the Jim's style hot dog -- the flavors tied in so well and love the amount of bacon and meat in each. For the hot dog, I love how the bun held up well while carrying so much inside and that it doesn't break apart. I definitely want to come back to try some more of their options. But I was not a huge fan of their French toast -- I would not come back for this again, but would be open to see if their other breakfast options are tastier.

    "Scrambled" egg

Hash was great but eggs are the number one component of breakfast and I don't know how you get it this wrong. Scrambled should be the easiest to execute.

Love this place - great staffs, nice food Sweet potato fries: crispy outside with juicy savory taste of sweet potato inside. The best sweet potato you can ever have in MA Cheese and steak sub: Alot of veggies and protein with right amount of cheese inside. The sauce tied up so well with the rest of the ingredients. Would've been amazing if the bread was toasted but can't complain because I really love the kind service and cheerful environment:)

Filling and delicious at the same time!!! Came here for breakfast and wow. It's not just simple eggs, bacon, toast and hash browns. There are many entree selections from which to choose along with a bunch of specials, and that's just breakfast! Some selections are unique (all sound good) and some are typical breakfast fare. We had little bit of both, classic and unique. ALL of it was good, generous portions and high quality ingredients. Even the coffee was very good. One nice touch is the freshly baked giant muffins in the cast iron pan - if you order it they take it right out of the pan, slice, butter and put it on the grill for a few minutes. Slightly crispy exterior and tender crumb with blueberries -big yum. It's cafeteria style so as soon as you walk in grab a tray, your utensils and get in line. The menu is extensive and it's all posted on the boards above the counter/line. Suggest looking up the menu online beforehand and then when at the restaurant read the specials so you can place your order quickly vs holding up the line. The last thing you want to do is hold up the line of uncaffeinated, hungry patrons. The guys behind the counter are friendly, funny, interactive and yet they really hustle back there to keep the line moving, including Jim himself. This isn't a large restaurant so the seating is limited. Get there early!

This is the best place to get a wrap or sandwich in Brighton. Be prepared to spend at minimum $12.

PATTY MELT REVIEW…read more Iconic diner on the edge of Chinatown, a couple blocks east of the Expressway. It's been around for decades and it's open 24/7. More of an authentic this-place-has-aged feel than the typical diner attempt to evoke an earlier era. Went in the morning and went for a patty melt-- because I could. It's too elusive these days, so being able to not only find one but have it at breakfast, a double win. Double patty is standard, not an add-on, and fries (probably frozen, but lengthy, crisp and fluffy) are included. No onions, no rye, but lettuce and tomato-- a non-traditional configuration. Nicely browned patties that had juiciness. The ingredients weren't anything to write home about, but the execution was great all around and so was the cheerful service from a seasoned veteran. Sure, I've had better with the proper rye, griddled onions, and higher quality beef, but an easy 4 stars for the execution, value, vibe, and being able to even order a patty melt before 10 in the morning. Bonus points for a plastic ketchup squeeze bottle that was slightly warm. Breakfast items (eggs, crispy home fries, and pancakes) on a neighboring table looked good.

South Street Diner was one of the few places open that early, so I decided to give it a try. Parking was easy at that hour, and I thought it was kind of cool seeing a classic diner tucked in among all the large office buildings downtown. I was in the mood for pancakes and ended up ordering the diner special with eggs over medium, home fries, corned beef hash, bacon, and pancakes. Unfortunately, the food was mostly average to below average. The eggs were a little underdone, the home fries were slightly overcooked in spots, and the toast was pretty standard diner fare. The homemade salsa was actually a nice touch and added some flavor to the potatoes. The biggest disappointment was the corned beef hash. I was hoping for something homemade, but it reminded me of the canned version I grew up eating. The texture and flavor just weren't for me, and I ended up leaving most of it behind. The pancakes were okay but a little dense and doughy, nothing particularly memorable. On the positive side, the coffee was decent, the service was fine, and being open early is definitely a plus for travelers. Overall, I'd put this one close to 3 stars. It's convenient if you need breakfast before sunrise, but the food didn't quite live up to what I was hoping for.

There was like three or four customers just a bartender working so you have to cover the whole place. The menu is basically everything is à la carte but everything is very affordable. Total bar food but we got a veggie quesadilla that was actually delicious and I got the cowboy burger, which was great and my friend Tammy got a steak and a chicken taco, she liked them both very much. The server was very attentive. He made sure everything went well. The only reason they don't get five stars is we ordered a quesadilla as an appetizer and when we got our main courses he had and brought it because he forgot to order it. It was apologetic. He was super nice, but you know, obviously it's hard for a bartender to do everything but I would recommend anyone go through in the neighborhood and just want a cheap eat or a place to get a quick drink.
