First time visit today to this Jim's on Bay Farm. I've been to the Jim's on Lincoln Ave. several times. This one is just at a different location with same menu. Seated promptly and same good service and food. The restaurant is located in the building to the left by the parking lot. As you walk towards the building, it looks like it may be an elementary school. You get to the restaurant by entering the doors and making a right turn, and then enter the restaurant doors. (you will see golfers all around you). You can sit outside or inside and watch the golfers. There was a line to use the ladies room as only one stall, which seems to be the norm. The parking lot needs to be repaved, so watch where you walk. read more

Went for a nice birthday lunch ordered a Bloody Mary took 10 to 15 minutes to get it and had to get up to get it myself. Food was no good and they brought the food. Never apologize or did anything to make our visit better. I been going there for 19 years. Will never go back. read more

Ok , for real , AWESOME ! Those who have eaten at the other Jim's may be privy to the condition you acquire known in our circle as " The Jim's ". Jim's on the course certainly does NOT come with that option. The menu is a bit smaller but for real , do you really need that many options ? one thing you must promise to do if you fall in love with this place ... Don't blow it up . There is a fine balance of keeping a alive and ruining in with over exposure . The food is mediocre at best. What is agonizing is the ridiculously slow service. They must have let one or more cooks go. Another thing that amazes me besides it taking so long to get your food is the ready go options. You buy a simple muffin and the cashier spends 10 minutes pushing buttons on the computer screen/register. I swear they punch the screen 40 times for one simple purchase. I came here once for brunch. I'm not a big breakfast fan. It is not cheap but the food is good and conveniently located in Bayfarm.

Pretty mediocre. I think if you're just played a round, it would be nice to come here and get in a meal before going back out. Other than that, the food is pretty much like any other place. I've given this place 2 shots at breakfast.....first time there was a lot of confusion about a breakfast burrito and when they finally got me what I ordered, it was a bland and non-interesting meal. So....not being one to not give 2nd chances, I had breakfast there again before golf. I ordered the biscuits and country gravy with hash browns. The hash browns came out cold and I sent it back. When it came back out, I dug into the biscuits and the gravy was the most bland gravy I have ever had! No meat (sausage, bacon or even juices from meats). While many would argue that covid relief packages have disincentivized the service workers who have pay and benefits packages hovering close to minimum wage, Jim's on the Golf Course has some the best service to be found in Alameda. As a boulevardier, bon vivant and buona forchetta I enjoy al fresca dining anytime the temperature is above 60 degrees and the wind is below 15 knots. As a person who worked his way through college, as a waiter, I can recognize and appreciate good service. Jim's has great service and amongst the personnel covering the deck, one in particular distinguishes himself. That would be Brandon; he is superlative; spectacular. While many waiters and waitresses seem to get hired in spite of their tunnel vision, Brandon has 20-20 peripheral vision. He can spot a near empty coffee cup or ice tea glass from 30 feet and refill it in less than 30 seconds. He shows initiative and ambition far beyond the call of duty. While some people seem to resent their jobs and are indifferent to the customer, Brandon realizes that the secret to job satisfaction and feeling good while on the job is staying busy, being attentive and enjoying friendly, appropriate, respectful interactions with the customer. Without knowing his parents, it is conspicuous that he gained the proper attitude toward life, work and people while under his parents' tutelage. His parents might have had a copy of "How to Win Friends and Influence People" around the house. Being in a service industry is often the starting point for the professional life of an individual. While Brandon may not be hustling meals to tables, filling cups and glasses, and retrieving used dishes to the kitchen, his positive attitude and willingness to engage at Jim's will serve him well in any future endeavor. Brandon is off to a good start in life, should you be seated in his section you are guaranteed to have a pleasant dining experience. If you are entering the job market, watch Brandon, you could learn a few of the general attributes that will lift your horizons. In theater, we say, "There are no small parts, only small actors." Busy Sunday morning there so I was pleasantly surprised at how good the food and service was - lots of hard working and pleasant servers, super polite, and trying their best to give a perfect dining experience. Spacious inside, good skillets (good portions) Cons: portions for some food is small (ie when ordering pancakes or waffles the eggs and sausage portions are dinky) Can't go wrong with Jim's. Can get a little busy on the weekends but there usually isn't a wait. read more

I always get their New York Steak and three eggs. Their steak is big and juicy. They cook a medium rare steak piece very well. During weekends you can also have smoked salmon eggs benediction, which was great. I like their coffee - light and not acidic. It can get busy but still safe to go as a group of 5-10 during the weekend. Atmosphere is just okay. Not exceptional but how much do you expect from a golf course restaurant? read more

Sorry to say... But I got food poisoning here from eating a deli roast beef sandwich off the cart counter on my round on the the course. This was on 2/16/20. I called today on 2/18/20 to speak with a manager, and the young lady who answered the phone said their was no managers there and will be in tomorrow. I told her about my complaint and she automatically asked me was it from one of the deli sandwiches from the counter. Makes me think this hasn't been the first time this has happened here. I visited here for the first time last Sunday. I had their food again this evening as a carry-out order. The shore driveway getting there is not in great shape, but there's plenty of parking so that's always nice. For the dine-in experience, I've gotta say, I was really impressed. We arrived around 11:50am, which was perfect timing as it started filling up quickly around noon. The restaurant was clean, and the waitress was very nice and very prompt. My group ordered a variation of food, from chicken and waffles, to french toast, and chicken with french fries. We were all very impressed with the food quality. Keep in mind it is the quality of that similar to diner food. The chicken had a crisp skin, while still being tender on the inside. The waffle was amazing! It was huge and soft and delicious. The cinnamon french toast was very well cooked, and didn't have that overly 'egg' flavor that I sometimes find french toast to have. The portions were huge! Way more food than any of us could eat. And for the things we ordered the price hovered in the $8-$10 range. It was a bit hot in the restaurant. My toddler who sat quite still and entertained for our duration inside, was red cheeked and clammy by the time we finished. And that was on pretty cool day outside. We have a pretty low heat tolerance, so that was at least a minor annoyance. Our waitress was also prompt with the check, which I loved. I always hate sitting at restaurants waiting on your check. There were a lot of of flat screen televisions all around. So it did have that sort of bar and grill appearance and setting. The carryout order was very well organized, and the food upheld the same quality as when we'd eaten at the restaurant. No complaints. All the condiments necessary for our order were also included. Overall, I'm pleased with their food and I'm glad to have discovered them. I'll definitely be revisiting to try out many more items on the menu! read more

For a $9.99 we shared an order of Chicken & Waffle and another $9.99 the Pulled Pork Sandwich and two coffees for $3.94. The C & W tasted good but was puny. Located within Chuck Corica Golf Complex and just a chip shot from the pro shop is Jim's on the Course. Nothing fancy folks but if you are looking for a hearty and tasty breakfast or lunch you must visit this little slice of heaven. Breakfast meeting on Friday the 13th I arrived at 8:10 AM and was able to get a good table for 3. I was immediately met by a server and my drink order taken. Within no time they delivered a pot of coffee and tall glass of water. The rest of my party arrived and we put in our order. I had the chicken, swiss cheese and avocado omelet, hash browns and rye toast. The omelet was big, 3 eggs and full of chicken, avocado and swiss. It was very flavorful as was the hash browns which came as ordered, crispy. The omelet is priced at 10.95 which is a bargain considering the breakfast will tide you over until dinner. Service is good and food is very good. Jim's is a 4.5 stars in my book. read more

Today we get seated. Had an ok set up for our stroller. We ordered our food our waiter was very nice. My friend ordered steak and eggs medium and it was presented to us well done. When she asked for it back she explained what was wrong with it and the gentleman in the purple shirt questioned her in form of an argument. It wasn't as heated but to me I've been in customer service for 18 years. The person should of just apologized and took it back and made it the way she wanted. We requested it to be free. The dress code is horrible then young hostess is wearing a crop top with her bellybutton showing. Your in the resultant business. And that is inappropriate on every level. It's horrible how this business has gone down hill. It's unprofessional. I hope they clean this restaurant up like the golf corse. I also see that some are wearing Jim's TShirts. Why can't they all be in the same uniform. We won't be returning. read more

Went here because it was close to my house and we are huge fans of the Jim's on Lincoln Ave. I came with my cousins and brother. When we walked in, we were seated by a nice young gentleman. I thought, "how nice, starting my breakfast just right with my family," especially because I rarely see them and I was super excited to have a good meal with them. Maggie, our server came over and asked us for our order. She kept rolling her eyes at us as we asked her questions and while we ordered. I think, "okay, maybe she is having a bad day." When most of our food came out, we realized, she got one of our orders wrong. AND my food did not come out until my family have practically finished theirs. I still feel okay because i thought that my food maybe took longer to cook. Some other folks came in and for some reason Maggie was really nice and smiley towards them and not at all grumpy or impatient like she was with us. Now, i'm starting to get upset... and i thought, "is it because we look a certain way or deserved to be treated less than anyone else?" Then we ask for refills and she said there are no refills! What?! We have all been to Jim's before and that was never the case! Now, I'm UPSET... We ask for the bill. After we sit there for a darn long time, she still hasn't come to pick up our check. So we brought it up front (we had to go because my brother had an appointment). Now, I'm just furious! My brother was gracious enough to still leave a tip... so, Dear Jims of the Course, Please address your server's bad attitude towards "certain" guests. Service is what makes or breaks a restaurant. We had been going to Jim's on the main island for years when we "discovered" their location on the course when our daughter started preschool nearby. So why 5 stars? I mean this isn't the best dining room atmosphere in the world. BUT it takes the best breakfast food in Alameda, with the same great prices and service staff, and puts it in a greener and MUCH less crowded setting. What's not to love? We try to sit outside as much as possible. Our daughter can get up and walk around a bit as we finish our third cups of coffee. You do have deal with a handful of golfers who think it's appropriate to smoke within 20 feet of the restaurant. Otherwise, it's a perfect Sunday or Saturday morning ritual for us. read more

Great place. A hidden gem that is never crowded when the rest of the breakfast places are overrun on Sunday mornings. Not the full Jim's menu (no pork chops!), but a decent menu nonetheless. I just had to share because I've been going to Jim's on Lincoln for so many years. Jim's is a spot where I go to every year since 96 with my best of friends to have our reunion and enjoy the breakfast. Well I heard from others I should try the one on the golf course it's less crowded. So I decided to go and celebrate my 15 year anniversary with my wife. We were seated really fast and the view of the golf course was just amazing. We went early in the morning to see the Crisp clean air hit the golf course. Other than that that was my experience here at Jim's. What I didn't like was that we waited a while for waiter, the floor in the dining area was stained, the building look like it was falling apart, the bathrooms were hideous, we kept fighting with flies to stay away from our food, and the food was dry consider we ordered breakfast... I would never go back to this place because the overall look and I kinda felt like because of location it would of had a better presentation and it would of complimented the golf course. read more

Been here several times and overall, it's kind of lame. The bar's not set very high for local diners: simple staples served efficiently and you'll get 5 stars from me. But the service here is frequently slow - even when allowing for the expected longer wait when the place is busy - and there's typically something amiss with the food. No different today when we visited on Mothers Day: the place was busy but by no means full. We were seated immediately, but then it took 15 minutes for anyone to take a drinks order. Then another 15 minutes after that to take a food order. Then another 20 minutes for the food to show up. Overall, 50 minutes after seating to get something to eat. The eggs were overcooked, and one of the orders was incorrect and had to be sent back. But the waffles and bacon were good. Alamedans often laud local mom-and-pop businesses over chains; I think Jim's often benefits from this. But call it the way it is; Jim's On The Course is consistently lame. Just because it's on your doorstep and not called Denny's doesn't change that. read more
