    Rude employee.

Customer service. Manager refused to give her name, she goes by Netty per another staff member. She was obnoxious to say the least. Loud, dramatic, and belligerent. It's no surprise she's comfortable acting that way, the manager "James" was her role model.

Chopped steak dinner with sautéed mushrooms added.

It's a Wednesday evening and there's a wait. There are 4 parties ahead of us and we're told it'll be a 15-20 min wait. That was pretty accurate but it's awful when there are so many empty tables. Evidence that they are understaffed. Their pie case at the front register area is covered with Christmas decor so no pies are visible. Speaking of pies, the servers have t-shirts on that advertise their $9.99 holiday pies. When I ask if they have pumpkin, she says no, that they just have Lemon Meringue. Phooey. For a brand known for pies, that's a huge let down. Our server tells us the refrigerated pie display up front has been broken for months and their request to have it fixed is being ignored. The best way to not sell something is to not show it off. My husband and I like to have breakfast for dinner when we're at Jim's, so eh gets steak and eggs. I get the chopped steak dinner. My favorite meal is chopped steak patty with sautéed onions and mushrooms and they never get this wrong! Our meals are really good. Our server is sufficient. She takes our drink order first, then our food order and comes back to deliver our food. I don't think she checked on us once, though. No matter, as I had no problem calling her over when I needed her. The check out process was a sh%* show. There were people waiting to be seated, a man in line to pick up a to-go order and others trying to get on the waiting list. The girl behind the counter just kinda twiddles her thumbs standing around or looking lost. Another worker is on the phone. The manager just looks annoyed and when he asks me for my check, I let him know that I never received one and just want to pay and leave. He asks me 3x where we were seated so he can pull up my table's check and I point to the same dang table. He's also very distracted so it's no wonder he's getting frustrated. He's banging away at the touch screen in front of him and finally, after standing in line and on front of him for about 8 minutes, I am able to pay. Sheesh. Very disorganized. We probably won't be coming back anytime soon or even thinking of stopping for a pie here. There are too many other options out there that work much harder for my business.

Eggs Benedict with hash browns and a side of fruit. As well as a Texas omelette with hash browns!

The baked goods aren't on the menu, so when we walked by the counter filled with croissants, kouign amann, bear claws, apple pie, cheese cakes, it was hard to choose what we wanted!! We ordered: the Alamo Burger: a 8 oz wagyu beef smash burger , served with a fried egg, caramelized onions, cheese on a crispy croissant bun. It was incredible and worth the 15-20 minute wait! Almond croissant - a monster sized, flaky croissant with a generous almond filling. Guy Fieri highlighted this croissant on his DD&D show. It's probably a million calories not worth it! All three pastries seemed a bit dry to me and didn't live up to the hype. I also tried their brunch offerings, which were good but nothing particularly memorable. On a positive note, the service was excellent. The staff were friendly, respectful, and welcoming. The ambiance was casual and comfortable, making it a pleasant place to visit overall.

Unfortunately, the food was very disappointing, which is why I'm giving 3 stars. I ordered the veal Schnitzel with mushroom gravy (Jägerschnitzel) and red cabbage. The gravy had a strange gelatin-like consistency and lacked the rich flavor you'd expect from a proper Jäger sauce. The veal was extremely chewy and honestly made me feel ill afterward. The red cabbage was also very undercooked and completely lacked flavor. Overall, I personally did not find the food authentic or representative of true German cooking. What truly saved this experience was the outstanding customer service. Our server, Joseph, was attentive, professional, and genuinely kind throughout the meal. I also greatly appreciated Mr. Adam, the kitchen manager, who personally came out to discuss my concerns. He handled the constructive criticism with professionalism and openness, and I truly respected the fact that he listened carefully and considered my feedback regarding the sauce. Although I wouldn't personally return for the food, Joseph and Mr. Adam turned what could have been a terrible experience into one where I still felt valued as a customer.
