Stopped by here for late lunch and waited about 15 minutes for a table. Not a huge restaurant but plenty of space for small and large parties. The vibe feels like a pocha spot with dim lights and good Korean comfort food. Servers here an incredibly friendly and kept checking up on me every few minutes to make sure everything is good. Food Kimchi jjigae was ultra rich and had the perfect amount of acidity. Plenty of pork slices inside and the broth is extremely flavorful. Seafood pancake came out crispy on both sides with a soft interior, all the seafood and ingredients were perfectly cooked. Their food here is definitely made fresh as both dishes I burned the heck out of my mouth because it was piping hot. Would definitely recommend!
What I ordered - Jalapeño Cheese Curry Katsu - Garlic Suyuk (Sous Vide Pork Belly) - Beef Soup (Gom Tang) - Garlic Soy Chicken - Fried Kimbap I get the hype of this place because their dishes are incredibly delicious and you can tell they're made with love. They even explained us how the restaurant came to be and the recipes came from their owner's mother. Their portions are pretty big and good for sharing. The restaurant itself has such a nice cozy vibe that will instantly transport you to late night Korean streets. I think the place is really worth a try if you're craving for authentic Korean food.
Whenever I go to SoCal for Disneyland, Jin Cook has become a must stop on our first day because it is that good. As someone who eats a lot of Korean food, I haven't found a place in the Bay Area that I like as much as Jin Cook. The variety here is unbeatable and the portions are extremely generous. I have loved every dish I've had at Jin Cook. This time around, we got regular korean fried chicken, korean army stew, brisket ttetboki and the seafood pancake. All of these were amazing, I wouldn't be able to tell you which one was my favorite because it's too hard to choose. I cannot recommend Jin Cook enough, and will be back the next time I'm in the area
I cannot stop thinking about every bite I had there to be honest! There is at times a line, so appreciate the time to starve as it is 100% worth the wait. The staff is incredibly nice and welcoming. They even apologized for the wait, when it was not their fault. It is just that good that people wait in line for it. There is no check in so you have to write your name and wait. It is a pretty intimate area so it has limited capacity. But you feel how lively this place is with satisfied tummies. We had Anna and Michelle as our servers, who is the best Korean moms you want at your table. They made sure our ban chan was always filled. Highly recommend their Braised Beef Short Rib (Galbi Jim). They charge ~$65 which is very reasonable for the volume and flavor. Rib beef was so tender and savory sweet, alongside some rice cakes, cheese, carrots to take you to flavor town. Their Garlic SuYuk (pork belly) was falling apart as I was trying to bring it to my mouth. The broth it is boiled in is so savory, I used it to pour over my rice. The Katsu Curry was another great dish to have. Japanese style curry which is more on the sweet savory, with super crispy katsu on top. We had 4 people but was so full at the end, we had left overs.
Still love the food here! The service continues to be great, and the food is just as delicious as ever. If you want to avoid a long wait, I highly recommend coming before 5 p.m. We arrived before then and had no trouble getting seated, but the waitlist started growing not long after. This time we ordered the bulgogi hot stone, pork curry katsu, spicy galbi jjim, and a seafood pancake. Everything came out piping hot, which is always appreciated. The dishes were served as they were ready rather than all at once, but we actually preferred it that way. Some items definitely take longer to prepare, so it gave us the chance to enjoy each dish while it was fresh and hot instead of having everythingwait to be finished and then being served. The bulgogi hot stone was flavorful and loaded with tender beef and vegetables. If was a good choice, but not the star of today's meal. The spicy galbi jjim continues to be one of our favorites. It has the same great balance of sweetness and spice that keeps us coming back. The beef was tender, the rice cakes were perfectly chewy, and the vegetables soaked up all of the delicious sauce. Love the pumpkin and potato, but they almost always disintegrate in the sauce, so I'm always happy to find any pieces. We also got the pork curry katsu this time, and it did not disappoint. The pork was juicy, the breading stayed crispy, and the rich curry sauce paired really well with the crunchy cutlet. The seafood pancake was another solid choice. It came out crispy around the edges while staying soft inside, with plenty of seafood throughout. It's still one of my favorite appetizers to share. Overall, another excellent meal. The food has remained consistently delicious, the service was attentive, and everything arrived fresh and hot. I'll definitely keep coming back!
I tried Jin Cook after spending a long day at Knotts, and it was what I needed to recharge! The kalguksu came with a good amount of noodles and seafood with a good chewy texture. I was a little disappointed in the soup, I thought it was lacking in depth of flavor, and I also wish it was a little smoother. I also tried the spicy tofu soup, which I thought was better and had a great broth! The wait wasnt too long on a sunday at 6pm, we were able to be seated after around 20 minutes. Service was attentive and we were able to quickly get refills on our banchan! Overall it's a solid Korean restaurant, but I think there are better spots in Buena Park's ktown.
Authentic delicious Korean food. They have so many awards for best Korean food. We ordered the seafood pancake, brisket tteokbokki, and garlic soy chicken. It's hearty food with generous portions. Friendly service. I felt we waited a bit for our food to arrive. They could have given us some banchan to nibble on first but they served it with the rest of the food and it all arrived pretty much at the same time. Everything was tasty and satisfying. One of my favs was the seafood pancake. It was crispy on the bottom and stayed hot in the stone platter. The brisket was packed with brisket, tteokbokki, ramen (paid extra for this), mandu, cabbage, fish cake, etc and was so rich and hearty. We were stuffed! Will be back!
My fiancé and I came on weekday night and it was packed, but surprisingly was able to get seated within 15 min. Try not to come on the weekend because you will have to wait greater than 30 min. I wish there was a Yelp waitlist that can be joined. We both got the braised short ribs w/ cheese to share. It took a while to come out and we were hungry! We were just filling up on sides. When it came out, they torched the cheese to melt into the meat. I wish the cheese was more melted, but it was still a nice addition to this dish. The meat was not as tender as expected in the beginning, but the ones on the rib were really good! I definitely will be back to try out other dishes. Seems like they have a lot of soup on the menu so gotta try it out on a day that's not too busy!
This place is popular for a reason! Even at opening, people start lining up. The ambiance of the restaurant makes you feel like you've transported to Korea! The ceiling is lined with Korean rooftops, there are shop signs and traditional Korean dolls displayed along the walls. One of their most popular dishes is their Braised Beef Short Rib. The meat is super tender and flavorful! We added cheese that that they torch table side with charcoal to give it a smoky flavor! They also have a variety of katsus. We got the Sweet Potato Cheese Curry Katsu. I like the sweetness from the sweet potato and the savory curry sauce. Huge portion sizes! They also have a new Chicken Pancake which I haven't seen at other Korean restaurants. The Kimbap Jeon is also new! I really liked this one. It's a kimbap that's battered and fried. It comes with a yummy dipping sauce as well. I'm a big fan of their banchan! They have kimchi, cucumber kimchi, radish kimchi, and pickled jalapenos. So tasty and refreshing! They give refills of these! Service is friendly! Plenty of parking in the shopping plaza's parking lot.
Genuinely such a great restaurant and the food here is always amazing!! The ambiance of the restaurant is super nice with warm lighting and the staff here is super friendly! The wait sometimes is long so I'd recommend to call ahead of time to put your name down if you have a big party. The food flavors are super authentic and never fails to amaze me every time. 10/10 recommend to check this place out!
First time eating here and it was excellent. I love walking by the other tables and seeing what everyone ordered. Such a variety! Took us a bit to decide but our waitress was kind and patient with my family. Appreciate the visuals of the bowls on the menu. Definitely recommend the spicy braised beef. A bit pricey but well worth it for the most tender meat and large quantity. Ordered the spicy version but it was surprisingly a little sweet too. The server was kind enough to separate the beef from the bones for us. Made it a lot easier to eat. The bulgogi, seafood pancake and katsu were all delicious as well, served family style. Loved the crispy crunch on the pancake and katsu. Rice was cooked perfectly - moist and fluffy. My favorite part of eating Korean is the banchan. The kimchi and cucumber salad were my faves. Everything was fresh and made with high quality ingredients. You can definitely taste the difference and sets them apart from other Korean food I've had. Will need to try their Yorba Linda location next!
Overall, the food was delicious, and staff were kind and tentative! Throughout our meal, different staff members would check up on us whenever they passed our table! Although when I think about it, we were seated near the doorway, so maybe that was why haha. Friends and I ordered 4 dishes- the seafood pancake, Jin Cook beef hot stone, garlic soy chicken and chogye cold noodle soup. Everything was so yummy and filling! The seafood pancake stayed hot and crunchy the whole time it was on the hot plate, and the cold noodles were refreshing! The hot stone and garlic soy chicken were flavorful! Side dishes were yummy as well. I loved the kimchi! There's lots of parking space in the plaza where the resuarant is located! The restaurant itself is a bit small and pretty busy, so wait time can be a bit long. Luckily, our party didnt have to wait too long to seated! Our food took about 25 minutes to come out though- it seems like they try to bring out all the dishes to the table at the same time. Nonetheless, my friends and I enjoyed our experience there!
Yum! Came on a weekend night near closing and it wasn't too busy. Friendly service and easy parking in plaza with clean bathrooms. Banchan is pretty limited and prices can be a little on the higher end but many of the dishes are family style. We got: -- mushroom japchae: pleasantly surprised by how much we liked this dish! rly delicious and the sesame oil doesn't overpower the dish -- beef soup: clean flavor & my fav korean dish to order at restaurants! super hearty -- seafood pancake: would skip next time. too many onions for my liking + i prefer this dish at other restaurants -- brisket tteokbokki: friends rly like rice cakes so they ordered this dish and enjoyed it. wish there was more broth but still p good. we added cheese and they grill it for you at the table! brisket is cooked nicely. The food was delicious and presented well. Seems like most dishes are family-style, but you can order individually, too. Garlic SuYuk ($42): 5/5. I highly recommend this sous vide pork belly, as it was tender, savory, and straight-up addicting. It paired nicely with the condiments and provided banchan. Sweet potato cheese curry katsu with rice ($26): 4/5. This was an interesting combination that turned out to be a yummy meal. Katsu was soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. I honestly liked the curry more than the sweet potato cheese katsu, but then again, I prefer savory foods over sweet ones when it comes to meals. A beef rib dish: 3/5. This was a bit too sweet for me, and it became messy and hard to eat. However, it was still a decent meaty addition to our table. Was topped with cheese that got brulee'd before serving. Korean-style fried chicken ($13): 5/5. Tasty, crunchy chunks of chicken were served with angel hair cabbage and a creamy dressing. We always enjoy an appetizer like this, even if it seems basic. The interior of this corner shop seemed small but had about 10 tables. Cute, festive decor were found amongst the modern wooden accents throughout the restaurant. It was bustling here! Even though we arrived between lunch and dinnertime on a Saturday, it was still crowded inside, with plenty of people waiting outside. I finally tried this place after hearing so much about it. My husband and I came here around 7pm on a Tuesday and had to wait about 30 minutes to get seated. Be sure to pay attention to the wait list. We were waiting around right outside the entrance, and the worker skipped over my name and called for the next party of 2 that came 13 minutes after me (see picture). I made sure to check my phone too, and I didn't get any texts or calls from the restaurant. When I checked in, he simply said, "oh ok, you'll be next." We ordered the Garlic SuYuk ($41.95) and Beef Short Rib Soup/Galbitang ($22.95). I noticed that the waiters immediately brought out banchan to the table next to us (a Korean family), but they waited until they brought our dishes out to bring us banchan. The food was good, but nothing to write home about. I don't really understand the reviews about the portions here being huge; $42 for less than 30 pieces of thinly sliced pork belly seems criminal. The sauces that came with the pork belly were good, but they were kind of stingy with the amount given. Galbitang was fine but not the best I have had. Overall, I was not impressed with the food, prices, or service here. Our meal ended up being $85 for two people after tax and tip. My experience here was a huge miss, and I wouldn't recommend or come back to this place. read more

I came on a late wednesday night and was surprised to see that the restaurant was still mostly packed! The interior has a very cozy aesthetic with all wooden furnishing that I appreciate. The food itself is very solid, I enjoyed the bossam and the brisket tteokboki was well made. Come early because the wait gets a little ridiculous. Jin Cook does offer some of the best Korean food in the Cerritos area so expect to wait if you come anytime near rush hour. We arrived at 4pm on a Saturday because of kids and we still had to wait a few mins to get seated. By the time we finished around 5:30pm, the wait outside was pretty crazy. There must've been 10 parties waiting. Onto the food, the taste is outstanding. It's probably one of the better Korean food restaurants outside of K-Town in LA. You can't go wrong with any of the dishes, but special shout out the seafood pancake. While pricey, the taste was incredible. A lot of restaurants make a sub-par seafood pancake, but not Jin Cook. This spot is located in a plaza with plenty of parking. Don't come too hungry because it's gonna be a wait! There was 19 people ahead of us. Waited an hour and a half to get seated. There's a good amount of tables. For small groups and big groups. We ordered and our food came out in increments and so some of us were halfway done and others were left waiting. I noticed this with other tables too. I got to try the chicken kalkooksoo, Jin cook kalkooksoo, mushroom curry, and pork and fish curry. The portions are pretty good and flavors and homey. Sunday - Wednesday 11:30 am - 9:30 pm Thursday 11:30 am - 11:00 pm Friday - Saturday 11:30 am - 12:00 pm The cheese brisket tteokbokki was honestly the star gooey, rich, and completely mouth-watering. The cheese melts into the sauce perfectly and every bite hits. The spicy pork also had great flavor with a nice level of heat. The sides dish the best was the kimchi was seasoned really well too -- balanced and not overly salty, which I always appreciate. Walking up, the neon OPEN sign glowing through the window gives the place a cozy late-night comfort spot vibe. Inside, the rustic wooden interior makes it feel warm and relaxed -- the kind of place you can sit, eat, and actually enjoy the atmosphere. Service was great. Tim helped my friend pick a dish and was super friendly with an easy smile and great personality. Another plus: portion sizes are generous, so you definitely leave satisfied. This is our favorite Korean Food comfy spot! We even ate here for our anniversary dinner. The wait is worth it, but if you would want to dodge the timing I suggest avoiding the dinner rush. We ALWAYS order the Spicy Braised Short Rib + Cheese. It is a MUST! It's so good even as leftovers. Serving size is for 4 people but we have it as our lunch/dinner next day. The beef is so tender and bustling with flavor! The panchan are excellent combinations with the short rib. Depending on the day, we order the Katsu Curry or Garlic SuYuk. The Katsu Curry is so flavorful and the curry feels nice and home-y. The Garlic SuYuk is soft and melts in your mouth. The flavor is amazing when you create your own perfect bite. The restaurant itself is nice and cozy, the lighting isn't too dark and I do recommend a sweater if it's the colder months, however I'd rather layer up than be heating up eating this delicious food. Our servers are always so kind and welcoming! It feels like you are eating at your loving auntie's house and they just want to make sure you're just at home. We ordered: Braised beef short ribs with cheese on top, Cheese curry katsu, Garlic soy chicken, Brisket tteokbokki The braised beef short ribs were super tender and flavorful, and adding melted cheese on top made it even better ~~ The garlic soy chicken was crispy outside, juicy inside, and had the perfect sweet garlic flavor. The brisket tteokbokki was spicy, chewy, and so addictive!! One thing that really stood out was the special smoky flavor. They use black charcoal while cooking, which gives the food such a rich aroma and unique taste you normally don't get at other Korean restaurants. The restaurant was clean, cozy, and family-friendly. Service was also very friendly and attentive throughout our meal. Plus there's FREE parking which is always a huge plus in OC! Definitely come hungry because you'll want to order everything!! the food here was insanely good. we got the tteokbokki and added ramen, and also got the pork & chicken katsu with curry. the curry was amazingggg i loved the crunch of the katsu and i liked having both dishes to alternate the tastes. the portions were super big and i could easily split one dish into two meals. i would recommend getting the full curry katsu without the salad and extra rice since the portion size seemed better from what my friends were saying. the inside is also nice lighting with roomy seating. my only complaint with this place was the service. we came on memorial day at 8 pm, and they mentioned the wait would be 30-45 minutes which we didn't mind, but it ended up being more than an hour wait and they took the orders of tables that were seated after us, and took a while to take our orders even though i was making eye contact with the server. they took another 20 minutes to give us the banchan, and when our food came out, the servers were so confused on which dish was which, which table to go to, and who it was for. by the time we were seated it was barely busy anymore, so it was a bit frustrating tho i do understand it was a holiday. read more

Was here Thursday lunch and decided to bring my boyfriend there to try it and he loved it a lot that we came back the next day again on (Friday night)! Again, service was amazing, welcoming, and the best! We came around 830 and waited an hour. It didn't really bother us since we understand how busy it is on weekends especially nights. I ordered my usual beef stone plate and spicy tofu soup, and my partner ordered the katsu curry plate and we also ordered the steamed dumplings. First time trying the dumplings and the katsu and both were delicious! The nice lady in the black cardigan helped me mix my beef stone plate which was very kind of her. We ordered so much food and the nice man helped pack our food to go. This place never disappoint me. I've heard so many things about this place and how I should try it. I finally had the time to and it did not disappoint! Food wise EVERYTHING WAS DELICIOUS! This was one of my first time eating Korean food like this. I usually go to bcd or just get Korean fried chicken. So to try this was definitely an eye opener to Korean comfort food! We got the pork belly, garlic soy marinated chicken and the beef sundubu. (Spell check?) each item was a 10/10. The banchan as well! I can't wait to come back and try the short rib. Just stopped by Jin Cook on a Saturday night, the food was phenomenal, I got two plates the Military soup and the Bulgogi Hot Stone. The flavor and taste were next level, definitely recommend. It was our first time here at Jin Cook and our group had an amazing experience here! The manager (I believe) was very warm and welcoming. I let him know it was our first time and he took great care of us. Our server Tim was super helpful and checked on us often. Food was DELICIOUS! Dare I say this is the best korean food I've ever had. Galbijjim - 10000/10, We got the non spicy no cheese since we had some dietary restrictions in our group, but it was still SO good and the meat was super tender! Rose Tteokbokki - 10/10, personally I'm a fan of thicker sauces but even though this one was more soupy I still really enjoyed it! The flavor is amazing and tteok was cooked to perfection Seafood pancake - 10/10, super crispy and I love that it's on the thicker side, good amount of seafood in it The portions are large and family size, more than enough for the five of us. Been going thru a "pork crazed" and wanted to try a new place outside of Sookdal and Samgyeojib, found this place and was intrigued. Small little restaurant but their menu is packed with Korean comfort foods, so right off the bat - I was excited! Got their Garlic Suyuk and Military Soup, two words - mouthwatering explosion! The pork is tender and melt...in...your...mouth...worthy! The flavor in their military soup was on point and the meats (pork meatballs, sausages and spam), you can tell that was cooked with the broth because all the flavors were soaked in every bite. The service was fast and super friendly, they checked on us often to ensure we had refills of their banchan. We were there on a Wednesday night and the restaurant got busy around 6ish, so definitely expect a wait during dinner rush. Definitely will be returning to try many of their other dishes. I've been to Jin Cook in Glendale before, but it had been years, so I was happy when my friend suggested the Buena Park location for lunch. We visited on a Thursday afternoon and were seated right away. The menu looked great, and our eyes were bigger than our stomachs, so we decided to share three dishes: the chicken soup, bulgogi stone pot, and the katsu curry with both pork and fish. The banchan arrived with the chicken soup, followed shortly by the rest of our entrées. The chicken soup was warm and comforting, the bulgogi stone pot rice was flavorful and satisfying, but the standout dish for us was definitely the katsu curry. The banchan included kimchi, spicy cucumber, sliced radish with onions, and spicy radish. My friend loves spicy banchan, and the waitress was more than happy to keep refilling them for us. We had plenty of leftovers, which my husband happily enjoyed for dinner later that day. I'll definitely need to visit my friend more often so we can come back to Jin Cook again. A comfortable wooden Korean restaurant, serving tasty, warm, and cozy dishes. We got the garlic pork suyuk which was a deliciously new experience from bossam. The broth and garlic was a fire addition that I wish I've tried before. The kimchi jiggae was solid as I expected it to be. No notes. Service was polite, quick, and standard. Looks like they have quite a bit of spicey dishes? What if you cant handle spicey? Could they make it non spicey like keeping out the jalapeño
We had orderred few dishes that were non spicy. tofu soup, seafood pancake and bibimbap(ask for nonspicy). Also i believe there were 2 versions of shortrib JJim(spicy and non spicy).
