Mums dispatched me to pick up an order of egg drop soup first, so I could bring it home for a taste test. If it passed, we'd order entrees, and I'd go back. It passed! It was the right color (yellow), and it actually smelled and tasted of eggs! We decided to commit and order dinner -- Fried Shrimp appetizer, Orange Chicken Combo, and Hunan Triple Crown. The fried shrimp was good, and I enjoyed the Human Triple Crown, although the "lobster" looked more like a fat crab stick. I'll let it pass. The sauce was good and the dish was flavorful. The shrimp and scallops were fine, and there was enough mixed vegetables to balance it all out. Mums enjoyed her orange chicken. The egg roll with her combo was a little lackluster -- thin and small -- but the interior was far superior to Nim's, which had been an unappetizing grey colored mess of cabbage. We're not going to try to compare China Fun to the best Chinese restaurants on the planet. But for Milton, it's pretty darned good. My mother likes that it is family owned, and we appreciate the friendly staff, and authentic food. I have read reviews here that say that China Fun is misleading people by saying it is "dine in". They're not misleading you; there are nice, tablecloth covered tables and chairs inside. But it isn't a *restaurant*. You go up to the counter and put in your order (or call it in), and from there, you can take it to a table if you like, or go elsewhere. I love these kinds of places! I'll post pictures of the take-out menu (current as of June 2024).

Six months ago I thought ...not so great, but I gave it another try the other day and the food was AWESOME!! Had the seafood dish, lots of shrimp and big scallops and a huge crawdad, also the curry chicken was excellent and you can't go wrong with the chicken skewers and fried crab wontons for appetizers. That being said, their Sweet & Sour Chicken is not good. They give you some breaded chicken pieces with a side container of sweet sauce. There are no vegetables. When I lived in Chicago years ago, you'd get Sweet & Sour Chicken with pieces of cut up pineapple, green bell pepper and onions. Delicious! And the sauce was already mixed into the chicken, not on the side. I do not recommend Hunan Wok's Sweet & Sour Chicken. I'm really surprised they don't improve this dish. Their egg rolls are okay, nothing spectacular. Average at best. The Shrimp Fried Rice, and other choices of fried rice are excellent. I like their Steamed Dumplings a lot, which comes with sauce. I also like how they package their food in traditional Chinese takeout boxes. One thing that I don't like is that an annoying panhandler named "Patrick" lives outside their door every day of the week, begging for food and money. Patrick has been there for years. It's like a job to him. He has never once failed to hit me up for food and/or money. I have complained numerous times to the Hunan Wok, but nothing has been done about the problem. For whatever reason, the restaurant has been either unable or inept to remove him. The atmosphere is that of a fast food place. Although there are a couple tables if you'd like to sit and eat there, you'll likely be crowded by waiting customers for their food. I wouldn't recommend planning to eat there. The place is small, standing room only. The great food is the best thing about this place. Did I mention that I love their Singapore Soft Noodles? If you like curry, you'll love this dish! It comes with diced onions, shrimp, chicken, carrots and other veggies. Delicious! Overall, I highly recommend the Hunan Wok. Their prices are very reasonable, the employees are friendly, and the food is mostly great. And by the way, before I forget, THEY ARE UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT. The food quality is the same. There used to be a troublesome Chinese woman who worked there taking orders, who gave customers a hard time, but she is long gone. So, if you haven't been to the place for over a year, I'd go back and check it out. They've improved.

Mongolian Beef lists for $7.95. Sweet & Sour Chicken lists for $4.95. These are NOT lunch specials. Egg rolls list for $2.50 per order. Beef Lo Mein lists for $4.95 on their website. But when I got to the actual restaurant, everything was $11 to $12. They deceive their customers, luring you in with false prices, and then gouge you when you get there! That is very unethical and shady. I purchased the following items: 2 orders egg rolls 1 Mongolian Beef 1 Kung Paul Chicken 1 Beef Lo Mein 1 Sweet & Sour Chicken 1 Shrimp Fried Rice I had told the woman at the cash register that I wanted "small" for the Mongolian beef, but she gave me large anyway. Then again I said "small" for the Kung Pao Chicken, but she said it only comes in large. I did order a large Shrimp Friend Rice, but that was the only item I wanted to be large size. She maxed everything out to charge me the maximum price.
