Overrated and overpriced. We stopped by for dinner last Friday. It took forever to get our food, which was OK but definitely not the best ramen I've ever had. The bowl was more than 50% noodles, with little meat, vegetables, or broth. And this cost almost $20. Also, there is VERY little space between tables. This is not only covid-unfriendly, but also uncomfortable for customers--there is simply not enough space. It was also very noisy and crowded--we almost couldn't hear each other. One night, I was craving ramen and discovered this well rated place on Yelp. Upon arriving, I was immediately greeted and seated at the bar. Within several minutes of sitting down, the bartender took my order. I had the Wonton Chicken Ramen with an additional order of salad and pork gyoza. The Wonton Chicken Ramen was absolutely delicious! The wontons and noodles were pretty good, but what really stood out was the broth; the broth was extremely flavorful and creamy. Unfortunately, the gyoza didn't stand out as much. In fact, the pork gyozas tasted like run-of-the-mill gyozas you get at any Japanese restaurant. The salad, which they initially forgot to give me, was the same story as the gyozas. Overall, the service here was a bit spotty, as was the food. ~ gluten free review ~ Stopped by at JINYA Ramen Bar for dinner with my little brother after showing him some sights. We sat down quickly as the place was pretty quite at 5:30 PM. I knew that they had gluten free ramen as my friend had told me about this spot prior. I decided to try a whiskey drink with yuzu lemon and thought it was interesting. I would definitely want to try a different one next time I go. In terms of the ramen, I really enjoyed the texture of the gluten free noodles. They were thicker than other restaurants I tried and had a nice texture. Only weird thing was that the chicken and egg were cold when they arrived, so I kept trying to heat them up in my broth before eating. Otherwise service was average and its a nice spot. Good ramen oh how I've missed thee. This is a super cute and trendy restaurant with second floor seating and a nice bar area. We had a group of eight and we all found something to enjoy. The service was alright but the food was better. The martini glass was a little small, but the beer glasses were shaped like beer cans which was pretty cool. Started out with an order of the crispy chicken which was spot on exactly what we were craving! There were 4 pieces and they were nice and crispy and paired nicely with the dipping sauce that had a hint of sweetness. We washed this starter down with an ice cold Sapporo and Suntory Highball. I decided on Jinya for our ramen fix specifically because they serve a variety of ramen broths and small plates. I chose the tonkotsu ramen and my SO chose a spicy chicken ramen. Both were great. The tonkotsu ramen was a lot creamier than I expected. Almost too creamy in taste and feel, but it still tasted good even though it was different than what I was expecting. The spiced egg in my ramen was super tasty but was cold and never warmed up in the broth which wasn't as piping hot as I would've liked. The chicken was a tad bit salty but it had a perfect balance of crispy texture and size. The light sauce with grated daikon was a nice touch. The Tonkotsu original ramen's pork broth was rich with miso and garlic. The green onions and bits of spinach added good texture and bite feel. Believe it or not, this is my first ramen restaurant ever. I've done the pho, and pretty much all noodle-based places, but my knowledge of ramen does not span beyond Top Ramen and Shin Ramyun. So I decided to check this place out for lunch one day, and my initial impression was "OMG, it's so small!" Almost every table was full, so I was wondering if we were gonna have to wait... but then we were escorted upstairs. It felt much more roomy up there. As we looked through the menus, there were quite a few ramens to choose from, all $13 and up! For the ones guaranteed to be spicy, there were 3 levels to choose from: Mild, Spicy, and Hot. Our server suggested we never go hot because if you pick Spicy and it's not good enough, you can just add the spice that's already on the table. Anyways, I got the spicy meatball ramen and I was pleased with the flavor of the broth and everything in there. The longer the meatballs were soaked in there, the tastier they became. I don't usually do meatballs, but I could easily have a side order of those alone. I will say that the noodles threw me off a bit, because this ramen used thick noodles, and they were way chewier than I expected. Reminded me a lot of lo mein. But did that take away from the taste at all? Nope! But something tells me the noodles weren't supposed to be that chewy. I came here after hooping for much longer than I was used to. Since I was dehydrated, I was in dire need of something liquid, and something that could provide some much needed salt replenishment and that my body could handle. So off I went to Jinya for some Ramen. I was seated well inside the establishment away from the outdoor seating, which in this case wasn't a bad thing because it was starting to get cold. The area where I was seated was narrow and slightly heavy on traffic due to it being right where staff were going back and forth to serve other guests. My server was very cool and outgoing. I ordered the Spicy Creamy Vegan Raman. My server convinced me to get the Caramelized Cauliflower as an appetizer. Unfortunately this was not the best choice while dehydrated, but I was able to finish it all. The ramen dish I had was, simply put, amazing. The creamy base with the noodles and other flavors plus the side of cilantro I got was the perfect fix for my dehydration as it's hard to put into words just how well it went down and was accepted by my digestive system that was not being very accepting. Had I just ordered that, then it would have been the perfect meal. I took the rest of it to go and later that evening after taking a nap indulged in the remainder that helped quench my still persistent dehydration. Aside from the cluttered seating spot (which really wasn't a significant detraction), the staff were very cool and, most importantly, the ramen I had went down perfectly considering the state I was in, not to mention it tasting very very good.
