I definitely need to come back to Jinya and try more of their food. My friend and I were leaving an alumni event and he was still hungry so we went to Jinya so that he can get a bowl of ramen. When we arrived we were able to be quickly seated at one bar. The customer service was good and our bartender was sweet and conversational. She answered all of my questions when I asked about menu items. I wasn't super hungry but she recommended the mini tacos. I ordered the spicy tuna tacos. They were so yummy. I think the sushi to taco ratio was perfect. They're really were the perfect size for an appetizer whether you want something that won't fill you up too much before your main dish or in my case if you just need a nice little bar bite. The atmosphere was very laid back with moody lighting. Perfect for an intimate meal with friends or a date night. I'll definitely be back to their ramen, the Jinya Bun and the Karage.

The ramen here is delicious, although on the pricier side at $20 a bowl. Their broth is on the lighter side and not as rich and their thin noodles could be improved upon. Otherwise, their toppings and meat are delicious. I would recommend the Tonkotsu black or their summer special of Chicken Karaage ramen. Also recently went for their new birria ramen and found it quite unique. Happy hour is from 4-7, which unfortunately no longer includes the $2 taco Tuesday specials. While they still offer cheaper appetizers for $3, $6, or $9, I don't think the tacos are worth it. The staff are attentive, the facilities are nice, and it's a great place to dine!

This Ramen spot is all the rave on 14th street!! Me and my colleagues went here for a team lunch and were quickly seated upon arrival. The ambiance is very lively! For my beverage, I ordered the passion fruit iced tea. This tasted like Southern comfort! For my appetizer, I had crispy chicken, and it was fried to a crisp and beyond flavorful!!! For my meal I had the chicken ramen! The base of the ramen was like one that i've never had before. Creamy, yet soulful! Flavorful and authentic! This ramen told a story! Each ingredient and all of its elements could be tasted. What an amazing experience! Check this spot out, you are in for a treat.

So this was my first time trying ramen but when with friends I will branch out a little. We order nikuman...that little filled bun was amazing!! The edamame was a little more bland than I liked. The real star was my ramen. I had the spicy creamy v ramen. The broth should be sold in vats and shipped. It was really flavorful. The tofu the was served on it was not appealing based on texture and they don't offer it fried but I'll know for next time. The server was really patient and answered all of my newbie questions. I had a lycheetini and a Ringo mule the lycheetini was my favorite. The restaurant had an amazing vibe. Bars on each floor and nice dim lighting. This is the perfect place for girls night or date night.

Love the atmosphere. The crispy chicken is a must try. The seaweed salad was good as was the passion fruit black tea. Our ramen was great and hit the spot. Service started out great then they got busy and our server was slow to check in with us.

First thing first the drink was very good. It actually taste like passionfruit juice with a hint of alcohol, so it was very refreshing all in all the Ramen is some of the best broth I've ever had. All I had to do was add a few drops of chili sauce in it, and it was perfect to my liking all the flavors were there. It's very good definitely would recommend and for appetizer we had the chicken bites. It was good. The sauce that it came with was also very flavorful and they have happy hour Monday through Friday so the drink and the chicken were half off. Definitely recommend this place to others 10/10.

Walked here from Walter E Washington Convention Center, not too far of a walk. Dining room was bigger than I expected (has an upstairs space as well) and crowded on a Friday night. Luckily we had reservations and were seated right away. For that night only they had 3 different ramen bowls for just $12 (great deal, since most are $18 and above now). We went with the spicy creamy vegan ramen. We also shared an impossible gyoza. The latter came pretty fast and was reliably good. Skin was thin and crispy. The vegan meat filling also had chives mixed in. Satisfying comfort food at its best. The ramen bowls were great as usual. The broth had chili and garlic oil. The noodles were thick and chewy, and very copious. The toppings were sesame seeds, spinach, cubed tofu, fried onions, chopped raw onions, and scallions. Had some pungent kick from the onions, crunch from the fried ones, and was overall delicious. Great meal!

First time here. Food was average. Happy hour was nothing exciting. Staff was average. Expensive. Food wasn't bad, but wasn't crazy good either.

We came to DC for a long weekend during Thanksgiving. Our first night was on actual Thanksgiving so most places were closed. This spot thankfully saved the day for us and other diners not having traditional Thanksgiving dinners. We were very grateful to the staff working on a holiday. I ordered the JINYA Tonkotsu Black ramen and my fiancé got the Chicken Chashu Bowl. I found myself wishing the broth of my ramen was more rich. The noodles were ok. They had the traditional elements of good ramen in the dish though. The pork was very yummy. My fiancé said his bowl was very plain, but when he added the sauce they had it made it exactly what he was craving. We sat on the second floor. The place is very trendy.

Jinya Ramen is the classic ramen spot for a warm, comforting bowl of ramen in the DMV area. I recommend you try their happy hour menu! Service was friendly and efficient. The ambiance here feels more casual compared to their other locations, plus the restaurant has bar seating for a quick meals. I tried their Jinya chicken ramen with chicken wontons and chicken char siu. The broth was flavorful with a good balance of umami while feeling quite light. I will give a disclaimer if you come from an Asian background, the dish came with HK style egg noodles and spinach, so it's not exactly Japanese chicken ramen tori paitan. It felt more like a Cantonese wonton mein dish, which is not a bad thing on its own, just caught me be surprise. I would like to return in the future to try their tonkatsu ramen

Jinya Ramen Bars are our go-to for ramen in the DMV. I've lived in Japan a total of 7 years so I know what I want & don't always get it. Jinya delivers! Not literally, well maybe literally, I digress. This was my first time to this location and it's bigger than it seems from the outside. Our server Lee was sweet and friendly. The hostess, however, was either really shy or did not want to be there. Jury's still out on her. It was a frigid Saturday 3 weeks ago when we went in so the ramen hit the spot. BUT - the Curry Rice Croquettes completely stole the show for me! I haven't stopped thinking about them and told my family how great they were and that we have to go get some. These need to be on the menu full time, not just as a limited time Chef's Special! I miss Japanese curry and haven't quite found what I'm searching for with that, but these amazing fried balls of curry goodness sure did dance mouth. I can't wait to go back for more & bring the fam.

We always make it a point to visit this spot in DC for a great bowl of ramen. So far, this has some of the best ramen broth I've had, with a richness that closely resembles authentic Japanese ramen. We typically go for the Black Ramen, and it never disappoints--it always fills us up. The service is consistently excellent, and even when the place is busy, they have a system in place that keeps everything running smoothly and organized. While there's only indoor seating, they do have a bar area, which adds a nice touch and makes it an even more inviting place to visit. If you're looking for a solid ramen recommendation, Jinya is definitely one of our top picks.

We ordered the Spicy Miso with the spice bomb and egg, along with the veggie ramen with spice bomb. The Spicy Miso was the clear winner--easily one of the most flavorful ramen bowls I've had, with just the right kick and incredible depth. The veggie ramen was also excellent and a great option for vegetarians. We also tried the gyoza, spring rolls, and Sapporo beer. For dessert, we ordered the black sesame ice cream, but the ramen portions were so generous that we were too full to finish it! Service was quick, attentive, and efficient. The atmosphere is exactly what you'd want from a Japanese ramen spot--casual, lively, and unassuming. The food felt authentic and the flavors really stood out. Let me start by saying I recently visited Daikaya on Monday, August 3, 2026, and unfortunately the…read moreservice that day was disappointing. I gave that particular visit 1 out of 5 stars. However, I also want to mention that Daikaya is one of my family's favorite ramen spots, so we were genuinely surprised by the experience because it has always been much better in the past. When we arrived, we were told that our entire party had to be present before we could be seated, which we understood. We also know that seating is first come, first served. In the past, we've been able to sit in a booth with two people, but this time we were informed that booths were reserved for parties of three or more. It was a little frustrating because the restaurant was slow at the time, and my wife politely explained that we would likely be finished before the dinner rush. Even so, we respected the policy and waited until a seat became available. I do want to give Terry a shoutout because he was very kind and professional. I explained that I couldn't sit at the bar due to my foot, and he was understanding. However, when he relayed that information to another employee, I immediately noticed a change in the other gentleman's body language and attitude. He seemed irritated about having to seat us. Once we were seated, the interaction only became more uncomfortable. He slammed our cups onto the table, and when I asked for a straw, he didn't hand it to me--he simply placed it down without saying much. There were several other small interactions throughout our meal that made us feel unwelcome. It reached the point where we decided we'd rather leave, so we flagged Terry down, asked for to-go containers, and requested the check. During our visit, I also noticed a party of four seat themselves and grab their own menus while both servers had their backs turned at the bar. When the same gentleman approached them, his demeanor was completely different. He was pleasant, took their order right away, and their food came out promptly. Watching that interaction made our experience feel even more disappointing. The food, thankfully, was excellent as always. That's one thing Daikaya continues to get right. I also noticed that none of the staff members we're used to seeing--who have always been warm, welcoming, and respectful--were working that day. Overall, this visit was a rare disappointment because the customer service simply wasn't up to the standard we've experienced over the years. While this particular experience deserves a low rating, I also want to acknowledge that every previous visit has been excellent. I'm hoping this was just an off day because Daikaya has consistently been one of our favorite places for ramen.

It smelled and looked so good that I dug right in as soon as it hit the table (so please excuse the picture lol). The curry flavor was rich and full, the noodles were perfectly chewy, and the chicken was crispy on the outside while still moist on the inside. At first, I only mixed everything together slightly and thought it was delicious. But once I REALLY mixed everything and got all of that sauce from the bottom incorporated throughout the noodles? Tonkutsu Ramen, the broth is rich and creamy perfection, a non spicy one. Black Tonkutsu Ramen, this is the star item where you can taste the garlic kick in the broth. Love it! Spicy Miso Ramen, is the most favorite menu here and for us too! The spicy level is at perfection level that's not too strong. All ramen are served with generously served with chasu and veggies, the eggs are perfectly cooked. This ramen place is very recommended if you're looking for something that taste delicious consistently. What amazes us was the noodle maker space is setup facing dining area where we can enjoy the noodle making process while enjoying the food. Love this idea! #ramenYa #blacktonkutsuramen #spicymisoramen #baltimorecounty #preservefootprints
