Not sure why the low ratings. Food was great. So many flavors. Jay was awesome and his recommendations were top notch. The atmosphere brought me to Thailand. Highly recommend. Jay recommended several dishes. I chose the garlic red snapper, spicy mint wings and Kao Soi Chiang Mai w/Tofu. There are other protein choices. Wife had the Pad Thai w/tofu. For dessert, the mango split. Delicious. The snapper and wings I ordered to go for later. Thank you Jay

The food was okay. Heard good things about this place, but it was just alright. There was no wait on a Friday night, but the food kind of took a long time to come out and it wasn't that hot too. The crab fried rice and the green curry were the stand outs. The place is small and charming. There's not a lot of parking, but you can find some street parking!

JITLADA is a popular Thai restaurant that serve Southern style cuisine. It's located in a small corner plaza in Sunset blvd and Kingsley avenue. They have a voluminous food and drink items on their menu. We came on a hot afternoon to grab some quick lunch. It was by random that we selected this Thai spot. We had Pad Woodsen. It tastes good with modest serving; nothing extraordinary compared to other Thai spots in LA. However, their food prices are pricey. Some of LA's known writers and actors have been into this place. You'll see it hanged in their wall. When we arrived at 2:20 pm getting a service staff was somewhat slow. Food arrived on time tho. Staff were competent and friendly. Atmosphere was a bit loud due to constant chatter by customers. Parking in the plaza is limited. Interior space was spacious. Overall, we had a nice lunch at Jitlada.

A spot that has existed for so long that it's crazy I never reviewed it. I'm a frequent visitor to the classic theatres throughout Hollywood so I come by after a late night film showing for some great grub. This time I opted for wings which I somehow never tried. These were solid but the chili sauce was a little flat. Tasted like the type you'd buy in the grocery store. Which the wings also had a little more crispy. The crispy pork with noodles was a real winner. Noodles soaked up all of his flavor through the sauté. All were so tender and the bits of pork belly were like nuggets of goodness scattered around. Paired nicely with some sambal. Red Curry with Chicken was the standout. So thick and creamy, they must really have a high ratio of coconut milk to water. I wanted it to come in a cup so I could drink it lol. Will slowly go through as much of the menu as I can! I heard they're blowing up on tiktok over Selena Gomez coming here. She has great taste.

Amazing food. Kind service. Cool restaurant design. This place is great. The crab fried rice was delicious. One of the best fried rices I've had in LA. The jungle curry was also great...although quite spicy! Those were the two standouts from the various dishes we ordered. I love how the heat is real. Also, there's a nice kick to their dishes that always has me wanting to take another bite.

i love this restaurant. the place and the ambiance are great!!! they really make it like in thailand for the ambiance. good thing about this restaurant, they have varieties of dishes and seriously i get confused which ones that should be ordered. since i come from bay area, i order the dishes that not available or may be difficult to find in bay area... * spicy morning glory salad: love the way the make the salad and they fried the morning glory vegetables. i will say make it a bit more spicy will make it even better. my tastebuds say it tends to sweet and tangy when i ate it yesterday... * spicy pork ear: this dish is recommended!!! they make the sauce with green chilies and the spicy is just right for me. very yummy mostly they combine with some red onion slices and tomato... * crying tiger beef: love the way they marinated the beef, so flavorful. eating without the provided sauce is even better, i think... overall, absolutely must try and a very recommended thai restaurant. a bit pricey but worth it to try and you will not get disappointed. i will come back again if i come to los angeles. thank you for satisfying my tummy...

OK, my last review saying the only thing to get there is the southern Thai last page-dishes, and having corrected my error from the last time, I stuck to that page, and it wowed me once again. Jackfruit jungle curry tofu had a wonderful sweet/sour taste; beef khua kling with a fishy sauce was like a wet "dry-rub bbq" taste, and perfect mouthfeel. Highly recommended, but go on an off-hour, as the hipster lines at dinnertime are just impossible to navigate.

Back after 8 years and nothing changed! Got the Cashew Nut Chicken again which cost $20 now and again it tasted below average like last time! Honestly, don't understand all the hype about this place! Is it because a couple of celebrities came here and took some pictures? Don't waste your money here and go to Yai on Vermont which is 10X better than this restaurant !!!

Jitlada, named after the Thai royal palace in Bangkok, is well deserving of the name. The place was booming with customers and incredible aromas. We were greeted right away, seated promptly, and served without delay. This is a place you can come to with friends, family, or on a date! The restaurant itself is on the smaller side, but don't let that deter you because the food is outstanding. We ordered the fried rice, crab meat noodles, spring rolls, yellow wings, spicy salmon rolls, and fried banana with coconut ice cream. Everything was delicious, and I'm already planning a return visit. Pro Tips: 1. The restaurant gets very busy, so you may need to briefly wave down your server. This is not because they are ignoring you, but because they are constantly on the move. 2.The parking lot is small, so be prepared for tight spaces. Uber or Lyft may be the easier option.

Best thing was the pad see ew and we also added crispy pork! The crispy pork is actually crispy dry and not crispy juicy. I got the fried honey duck, which was okay, a bit dry, next time I would opt for the stir fried duck. The Thai tea was good. The service was good, the whole place looked nice. Additionally I ordered the lamb and eggplant to go, the lamb was a bit tough and lacked seasonings, but the veggies were good. There was a waitlist when we got there, we waited for 45 minutes. I would go back to eat the pad see ew again and to try the stir fried duck.

I've been here a few times, but I always think about pictures after I've inhaled my food. I originally saw the restaurant on Triple G. The Thai food here is phenomenal! My fave Thai dish is Thai basil chicken. Theirs is great. The last time I had spicy basil eggplant with chicken. My niece is vegan and likes extra spicy. She ordered spicy veggie rice. This is the first time something was too spicy for her. She loved it!! The parking lot is really small. So you may have trouble with that. Also it gets very crowded in the evenings. So get there early, or get ready to wait. The last time we went, we ran into the infamous Jazz. She's such a sweet lady!

One of the worst service experiences I've had at a restaurant. We sat there for about 10 minutes without anyone coming to take our order. I raised my hand multiple times trying to get someone's attention, but no one seemed to care. Meanwhile, some of the staff were outside chatting with what appeared to be regular customers while we were still sitting there waiting. When someone finally came to take our order, her attitude was incredibly rude and unpleasant. She acted like we were bothering her just by being there and was cold and dismissive the entire time. To make things worse, one of the dishes we ordered was never even put in. The service stayed bad throughout the entire meal. No one came to refill our water, some of the plates were not properly clean, and after we finished eating, we were once again left sitting there waiting just to get the check. It felt like we had to chase someone down for every basic part of the dining experience. The food itself was actually good, and we finished everything that did arrive. But I definitely would not call it the best Thai food in LA. There are simply too many other great Thai restaurants in the city to justify putting up with service like this. I also brought a friend here, which made the whole experience even more embarrassing and disappointing. Good food does not make up for terrible service. Extremely disappointing experience, and I would not come back.

    Sally W.

Jitlada was on my must-try list for a very long time, and my friends and I finally made it happen. It was SO good. The service was also friendly and warm - we felt like family! Honestly, every single thing we tried was amazing. The crispy morning glory salad was INCREDIBLE. Do be cautious because the spicy items are VERY spicy. The parking lot is very small, so you'll probably have to go around the block looking for parking a couple times.

Are they pretty quick with service?

I think it depends on when you get there. Get there when they open or they're less busy and yes.

What are the restaurant's rules on non-service dogs being in the dining room floor and eating off a table? There's a picture on the LA subreddit today that makes me feel uneasy about eating here.

They must follow the LACounty health Laws they do not allow animals including Dogs in restaurant where food is served at all if you have seen this take a photo report them to LACounty health dept shut them down if Jitlanda does want to…

Silly question, but is there anything on the menu that's NOT spicy?? My husband LOVES spicy and I want to take him here, but I think black pepper is spicy and would like to eat with him and not just watch 😂. Even if just one dish, thanks in advance!

They have non-spicy plates and you can also ask them to make non-Spicy as well.

    How is the parking?

It's not the easiest, there's plenty of street parking in the surrounding neighborhood (you might just have to walk a bit)

Do they take reservations or walk in only?

    Walk ins only

    Do you have outdoor dining?

I don't believe so, I didn't see any when I was there in April.

    Cash only or credit/debit?

    Both

Are there any gluten free options?

Are they open on Christmas for lunch and do they take reservations?

    I have no idea.

Do the curries come with rice or do you order rice separately and pay extra?

Order rice separately and pay extra.

A Thai restaurant I know used to have freshly fried shrimp chips as an appetizer. Like the fresh, high-end version of what you can buy in bags and markets. They took them off their menu. Where can I get these delicacies? Does Jitlada?

Sam Woo's in Van Nuys has them fresh to order. Not sure about the other locations.

Has anyone had the crying tiger pork?

Yes , spicy yet very good

I felt like I came to eat and my mom's house. They take Debit Card and Apple Pay WITH a pin only. I forgot my wallet and paid with Apple Pay. It did not have a place for tip which made me feel awful. At the end I apologized and she was like "it's ok, next time." And she was genuinely fine with it. She reassured me not to worry about it. I ordered Pad Thai with tofu- I like to order peanut sauce on the side and the woman found it interesting and struck a non judgmental conversion about it. I could really tell she was genuinely curious. This was my favorite dish. It was good. I also ordered spicy fried rice with tofu and spicy panang curry with vegetables. I chose 4 out of a 6 for spicy and it was not spicy at all for me. The rice was fine, nothing extraordinary and nothing bad. The panang curry was yummy. I don't know if it's regional but it was very light in taste and light in thickness. BUT I enjoyed it for what it was. Felt like I had gotten home made chicken soup or something like that comforting and not overly processed. Maybe it's because I ordered it with no protein and just vegetables. I can't believe it's been 12 years--and I'm so happy to say it was every bit as incredible as I remembered. My friend and I came for lunch. I ordered the vegetable pho, and she had the curry rice. Both dishes were absolutely delicious--fresh, flavorful, comforting, and beautifully prepared. Honestly, I wish we had more time because we had another appointment downtown. I would have loved to try more dishes and definitely dessert! Our server was wonderful--friendly, attentive, and incredibly professional. He checked on us at just the right moments without ever feeling intrusive. The service was as impressive as the food. The restaurant has such a warm, relaxing atmosphere. I especially loved the beautiful ceramic water cups with bird designs--they were so unique and charming. Even the water tasted wonderful! I'm thrilled that Au Lac is still thriving after all these years. If anything, the food tasted even better than I remembered. I certainly won't wait another 12 years before coming back. In fact, I was so impressed that I convinced my husband to come with me next Saturday for dinner! I've tried many vegan restaurants over the years, and Au Lac remains my absolute favorite. My favorite on the Westside is Variable Café, but if you're willing to drive a little farther, Au Lac is on another level. I can't recommend this restaurant highly enough. Whether you're vegan or not, this place is truly outstanding. Five stars without hesitation!

NOW FLASH BACK TO HERE. i to echo park only seeking dessert and my friend SHOVED ME over to this tiny cute little establishment. little did i know my upcoming flavor explosion. the sticky rice was WARM, coconutty, sweet and absolutely melted in your mouth while still holding firm, not necessarily mushy. i almost shed a tear. it was STEAMING. and the condensed milk drizzled on top went above and beyond... it was definitely coconut that added just another level of tropical warmth ugh. and those MANGOS??? GIRL ITS APRIL, NOT SUMMER??? yet they were the sweetest, softest, most decadent mangos on planet earth. with that bit of mint, every bite had me in ecstasy... and a food coma. THIS is mango sticky rice. and i WILL be back. also, tell me why i just sat down next to Ian from Smosh. that man's been loving thai food since youtube's inception... and obviously he has impeccable taste *fangirls*

I love sitting outside, especially in the evening when the weather is pleasant and the atmosphere is relaxing. Most importantly, the food here is bold, authentic, and packed with flavor. Every time I visit, I order the fried chicken wings, pork jerky , som tam (papaya salad), and a spicy soup called Tom Saap. These dishes always remind me of my trips to Thailand. This is definitely a restaurant I would highly recommend, whether you're looking for great Thai food, a family-friendly spot, or a place where you can enjoy a meal with your dog.

We couldn't connect to WiFi and had no way of knowing what food was available. Very strange experience. There was one big table of people and one or two other small groups. It wasn't very busy. I genuinely felt like they did not want me there and that I was inconveniencing the staff. We just walked out.
