This place is on a side street, just off Lonsdale Ave. and downstairs from the City Market. There is a small printed menu sitting on the counter when you get up to the cashier. If you need a bit of time to read the menu and decide what drink you'd like, I recommend taking a quick walk to the front, photographing the menu, then taking your place at the back of the line and reading the menu on your phone. I ordered an English Breakfast tea for my mom, as well as an Apple Cinnamon Cruffin, and a London Fog for myself. It's a nice vibe here. My mom really liked this place, and enjoyed her Apple Cinnamon Cruffin a lot. More like "our" Cruffin cuz she made me share it with her even though I told her I wasn't hungry as I'd already had some food for breakfast at her house earlier! Neat vibe, great cortado, comfy seating. No power outlets that I could find and I looked. It's quite urban and I was lucky to find parking right across the street on my way to exploring North Vancouver. They were open when I was here at 7am. All good things lining up! They are getting bad and focusing only on increasing there profit i have been a customer for jjbeans over 12 years and I see the decline clearly for example the city of Vancouver scrapped the 25 cents for cup but they still charge you for that i asked for a drink to be served in house cup they said they don't serve that drink for kids in house cup and still charged me to go cup fees that was in North Vancouver store beside park and tilford gardens and also they where rud about it and was no manager to complain to. read more

This was my first and last coffee at this JJ Bean location - I ordered a medium roast coffee (dine in). The staff were quite pleasant when I ordered. I mentioned there was a large spill on the floor near the dish station for customers to put their used cups. The young woman behind the counter thanked me for letting her know. I poured cream into my coffee only to discover it was full of coffee grounds. I took it back to the counter. A different girl told me that grounds in the coffee was normal for coffee made with a French press. I told her I didn't agree as I make French press coffee at home and it's never had grounds in it. The coffee itself was incredibly bitter for a medium roast and tasted awful. The young woman I told about the spill proceeded to do absolutely nothing about it and chatted to her co-workers about some social engagement (and it was a fair-sized spill) so, I put a bunch of napkins over the spill; put my still full, mostly untouched, coffee on the dirty dish stand, and walked out. Yes, I could have asked for a new coffee, but if staff is BSing customers about how coffee grounds are supposed to be part of the drink, I don't feel confident that they are capable of making a good cup of coffee. For the record, I ended up at a nearby 24 hr McDonald's and had a coffee there, and it was actually pretty damn good. read more

We stopped in for some baked goods and they were amaaazing!!! This is probably the coolest looking coffee shop I've been in. The interior is decorated with floor to ceiling tree trunks and there are several bright green or blue private booths to sit in - great for taking coffee selfies. I'm not a big coffee drinker so I prefer Timmies. If you go here though, treat yourself and get a 'pull apart'. Sooo good! read more

This new location is beautiful! It's much brighter than the other, cozier locations I frequent. Super tall ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows, grey flooring, and fun little nooks along one side with comfortable seating pods - the place screams for productive business meetings or successful study sessions. Aside from the loveliness of the architecture and design, this location, just like their others, consistently gives me the best almond milk Americano mistos that I can find in the city. Plus big ups for vegan muffins. I haven't really eaten any other of their food, but it always looks balanced, wholesome and delicious. Happy to have them in the neighbourhood. read more

It was very cool and a trendy place with very modern clean lines. They had these wood beams running from floor to ceiling that gave the place a forest like appearance. There was lots of seating inside including some more secluded booths for a more intimate setting. There was also a lot of cool seating outside on their patio. The wifi is horrible, it doesn't even work. It's worse to have a wifi that requires a login, only to find out it hardly ever works, than no wifi at all like with some JJ Bean locations. Any cafe worth its salt will invest in decent wifi - it's 2017. I wish I could rate it 0/5. Fix this and I might give 2/3 stars.. read more

Went in this morning for my weekly pound of coffee (ground). Usually, when one brings in the reusable bag there is a discount although I have never asked how much. Also, I go in because one gets a free coffee (12oz) when buying a pound of beans. I asked the teller to upgrade me to a 16oz and I said I would pay extra. She said that it wasn't possible to do, so charged me for an extra 16oz coffee. In the past the teller just adds a small amount for the upgrade. I usually get drip...no americano. From now on I will buy beans at Moja. I hear they are an accomplished roaster. read more

Love how it looks inside this JJ Bean. Their are about 4 cubicles and some open tables. The only thing that's missing is outlets to plug in your laptop. I didn't see any by the open tables and the cubicles were all full so I couldn't check, so I'd suggest coming with your laptop fully charged if you plan on doing some work. The staff was super friendly and they seemed like they enjoyed working their which is always nice to see. I got the grilled cheese and tomato sandwich and I was pretty hungry and it was a hit! Perfect amount of cheesyness that wasn't an overload. It was served with salsa on the side that was great too. ... also got a hot chocolate when I left that was nice and sweet, just how I like it! read more

JJ Bean, thank you for your high quality REAL ingredients (not chemicals/colorings etc. like almost all places) pastries, muffins, cookies, etc. My favorites are blueberry bran because its low in sugar, not oily, loaded with berries and dense, and the almond croissant (this can be your brunch item - filling and like a Goddess from another realm it is a joy on your senses - the crunch of the almonds, the crisp of the croissant, the price on your wallet, the ooey gooey almond paste inside waiting for you and the oh so delicate powdered sugar waiting to dust your lips), and don't forget the custard brioche (jesus if you like brioche and custard, well that says it all) and rich BIG chocolate cookies...omg! really? I was going to keep it to two...I guess I should just say the entire menu is awesome! made my morning :) and the cute and genuine guy behind the counter and helpful girl didn't hurt! Decor is awesomely mood lifting! Pays respect to the nature and wilderness of North Van in a modern artistic way. My blue on blue table and walls made me feel calmer. It's a coffee shop, they sell coffee! How about that. However what sets this place apart is the Staff. Always friendly... and they call me Mocha Mike, and now Mike the Bike... cause you guessed it... I won the Bike this year! Had to drink my daily Mocha to win that! The Manager, Lloyd is a very generous person, always keeping one eye on his customers while making the best Mocha on the Shore, watching the way he has with the customers, and the rapport, you just know this is the place to go on Lonsdale for a coffee, or a snack. They also have a good selection of snacks for all you snackers out there! All ways happy to pour a cup of joe, or mix up your favourite concoction what ever it may be. Nice coffee shop, reminded me of ones in Stockholm. Clean, bright, stellar coffee. Lots of places to hang out, and pretty close to a Poke Stop and gym :) only issue was that the breakfast wraps we got were not heated through, so the eggs inside were cold. Pretty unappetizing so I would just stick with bakery items and beverages when I return. There's also a Starbucks kitty corner away for my hot sandwich needs. read more

Used to love coming to this location, but since opening it has steadily gone downhill. They have one guy on staff in particular that has no customer service skills what so ever, who barely acknowledges your existence when a "thank you" or a "have a good one" is thrown his way. Every one else has been very friendly, figures one bad Apple can ruin it all. Stuff like that spoils going to places like this, especially with several coffee houses on Lonsdale to choose from. Also, stop using so many chocolate chips in your cookies!!! Go back to using Pecans! Won't be going back anytime soon. read more

I love the staff and coffee the regulars sometimes I wish the coffee were hotter even ordering extra hot my coffee isn't hot enough and why have air condiitoning it makes it too cold to sit inside while I'm at it maybe the JJB at P&T could get a push button door for those of us holding two cups of coffee going to the patio on the side or the front that JJB could also fix the men's toilet it's been out of repair for months read more
