disappointing my wife and I called ahead on Sat nite and asked if live music and were told yes-upon arrival we were seated in back courtyard which needs updating as it reminded us of VFW hall -no disrespect to our military- we waited 10 minutes for waitress and 30 minutes for uninspired food-my wife had salad with chicken which looked like came out of Trader Joe package-I had turkey burger which tasted like frozen well done patty on giant roll which was inedible- we had sprouts as appetizer which also had no taste-only item we enjoyed were sweet potato fries -overpriced for the food-save your $$ and go to diner ps--no live music read more

Excellent customer service for party room we rented. Food was great too! Space was nice.

Made a reservation two months ago asking for a specific table and it was given away. Just made another reservation asking for the same table being very specific and it was given away. The food was okay but the service was bad. The waiter didn't check on us and we had to wait for things that make a meal out special like extra dressing and another drink. It wasn't even busy The kitchen doesn't seem to know what well done is either. Sorry to say but we'll be looking for another restaurant to have our girls night but the bread pudding is amazing read more

Anyone who frequented Sutton Place will enjoy this updated version. The menu had some similar items - everything we ordered was very good, but of course as we were eating we saw a luscious looking plate of short ribs at the next table, so that's a definite for my next visit. I love that you can reserve a table right on Yelp. Almost forgot the cocktail specials: excellent! The only issue I have is the live music. Some folks like that - I despise it. So loud! JJs is my local go to these days. Since they've updated, it's been awesome having them right around the corner. Their menu is perfect for all ages and they have plenty of beer on tap to choose from. Also, they've got so many TVs it's hard to miss any sporting event that might be airing. I'll go out on a limb and say they have the best wings in LB right now, ask for them naked with the sauce on the side and you will not be disappointed! read more

I just want to thank everyone at JJ Coopers for the awesome party we had there on Saturday 3/3!! After the original place we had booked closed and didn't tell us Rob and the crew at JJCs really saved our butts. The food was great - highlights were the philly cheesesteak eggrolls, their homemade pigs in a blanket and the eggplant rollatini. The space was clean and really nicely decorated (they accommodated my families purple fetish with napkins and lights on the walls). The owners sister even did the balloons which made the day that much easier. Matt and other employees did all they could (climbing up ladders, trying different devices, stressing with me lol, etc) to get a video played at the party that was a special surprise for the bday boy. The real MVP at JJ Coopers in my eyes though is Mary - she took my frantic call last week when I was scrambling to find a new venue and really made me feel confident that the party was going to be a blast! Luckily we got her as a server the day of and she was so helpful and friendly to all the guests. She really made it an extra special event and cares so much about her customers. I highly recommend this place and would absolutely go there again. Only thing I would change is booking there in the first place and being able to get the back room they have with the glass ceiling. Pick place at random so we could go to a concert on boardwalk. Stopped for dinner service was great, sesame tuna appetizer was outstanding. Wife had softshell crab and I had grilled cedar plank salmon both were amazing. Will definitely go back. read more

This place is solid. Great bar, nice looking restaurant with outdoor space that makes it an easy choice for a party. The prime rib sandwich is delectable, the ahi tuna appetizer is a favorite and the salads are really great. Waitstaff is friendly and attentive. Give the old Sutton Place a shot (way more consistent than nearby Brixx). read more

We came here because we got an advertisement on our car. We cane here for wings as they advertised 10 different choices. There were only 5 choices. I asked for bbq or honey bbq. All else was super spicey I could not eat. They could not accommodate just bbq or honey. This insinuates the sauces are pre-made or ordered. They could not accommodate. read more

JJ Coopers hosted my future daughter in law's bridal shower this past Saturday and what a wonderful job this venue did! From our initial meeting with Matt and subsequent conversations with him and Rob who walked / talked us through the options you really feel your party is their priority. The day of the shower we had 2 amazing people helping us, Jessica our waitress and Berk our bartender who went above and beyond to make the day special. I cannot begin to count the amount of times I was stopped during the party to hear compliments on how delicious the food was. If you are thinking of having a party anywhere near Long Beach or the South Shore definitely give Coopers a call. You will love it! read more

The former Sutton Place has been renovated and renamed. We were a party of 5 older women, who enjoy dining, imbibing and talking. Our table consisted of established, mature women who do not mind spending money for a fun evening together. The menu is varied, but interesting , and the food is delicious, and beautifully presented. The wine list is average. Unfortunately, the noise from the restaurant itself was deafening, making conversation very difficult. We all would have enjoyed staying for dessert and after dinner drinks, but we were driven out because of the noise. The atmosphere and new decor is lovely, but the noise is too much. Service was good. Went back for New Years Day brunch which was again, delicious, but the service was disorganized, unprofessional, and chaotic. It was NOT busy at that time. We were very disappointed, it's not cheap. It gets one more try, if it doesn't measure up,see ya later alligator!! read more

Decor inside and out has a great new Metro Design .Greeted by energetic hostess . Bar and dining rm full of energy . I sat at the bar ordered from the drink specials menu looking to try something new so each drink was better than the next . The Pulled Pork Grill Cheese sandwich hit the spot flavorfull and lots of it . This old Long Beach staple Sutton Place conversion into JJ Coopers is a great new fit for my neighborhood . read more

Honestly i liked the menu better before the change from Sutton, not sure if new owners or what bc there's a lot of familiar faces like the the bald bartender i think Ron who seems to be there every time i come in, great guy. Had a 90th birthday party for my mom this weekend. The food at JJ is consistently excellent and would recommend this eatery for its comprehensive and solid menu. The party for my 40 guests was a huge success. The room was light, airy, spacious, comfortable and handsome. The two staff assigned were professional and kept food, drinks- soft and hard flowing. The food was amazing from the lamb lollipops to the tuna satay, crab cakes and egg roll appetizers. The buffet entrees of chicken marsala, seafood paella, steak and salmon were perfectly cooked and remained appetizing and delicious throughout service. My mother and guests had a spectacular time. I recommend JJ for a meal... if you need a venue for a gathering this is the place. Rob and Matt plan and delivered the goods. The staff shone through like seasoned pros. They were helpful and attentive from before the first guest to packing the car with leftovers. Five stars - highly recommend. read more
