Rockport Texas doesn't have many food options for vegetarians with celiac disease so I was stoked to find the breakfast at JJ's! This was the best meal I had on this whole trip. We went for breakfast. There was about a 20 minute wait, the place was packed around 11am. Waitress was very sweet. The food did take awhile but it was definitely worth it! Homemade salsa was great, we also shared a small bowl of homemade chili which was also sooo good! Everything definitely taste homemade. Had my first experience a few weeks ago with a friend and everything was fabulous! Delicious little breakfast place in Rockport. Omelette egg was thinly layered forever! A single JJ Taco is enough for a full meal. Homemade salsas were excellent. We loved it all and will be back next visit. Great parking at the edge of Walmart since it gets busy but it is worth it! read more

Worth the wait for breakfast. We arrived a little past 9:00 on a Sunday. We had to wait about 20". Tables turn over quickly so I didn't feel exasperated. Bright and cheerful space and an outdoor covered patio which allows dogs. Omelette w pepper jack cheese sauce is delicious. The omelette was light and the filling didn't over power. Ask for fresh homemade salsa. French toast would have benefited from a longer soak in the egg/milk batter. Excellent, friendly service. Loads of parking. read more

This is now my favorite breakfast/brunch restaurant at the coast. The food was excellent and the variety of the menu was great. Our waitress knocked it out of the park. French Toast plate included two eggs, potatoes and bacon and they accommodated my request for egg whites. The prices were very reasonable. We'll definitely be back. read more

I love how this restaurant is family owned and oriented. I had the shrimp and grits which was fantastic and they have a great salad bar! The only downside was from the time we ordered to the moment the food arrived it took about an hour... so go when you have time! Overall wonderful! read more

First visit to new location. Lunch time. Wasn't crowded. Good service. Smiling waitresses. I like that. Only sorry I didn't take pictures. I had cheddar cheese burger and sweet potato fries. There was a line when we went (it was sunday brunch time, so we knew there was going to be a line) and the wait was around an hour and thirty or so minutes, we got seated and the waiters were pretty nice. The prices for this restaurant are a bit odd, chocolate milk that's just milk with chocolate syrup is around 3(?) dollars with no refills and it's in a normal glass, a gallon of milk is 3 dollars if i remember correctly but i digress. i got 2 breakfast tacos with chorizo bean cheese, 4 dollars for each taco so i expected it to be amazing but it was genuinely so greasy and unappetizing i could only eat half of one. the pancakes were easily the best part, but you can't really go wrong with pancakes. S/O got migas and it was genuinely not that good either. very americanized food and you can taste it, but it was our fault for falling for the great reviews. It's not a bad restaurant whatsoever but it is not worth the 2+ hours you have to wait to finally be able to eat. Would i go back? Not necessarily, maybe if i wanted a 3 dollar glass of chocolate milk. read more

JJ's Cafe is back!!. They have breakfast all day now with a limited lunch until they get their kitchen staff trained and ready to go with the great food they have always served their customers. Had a great breakfast here. I had traditional-style Eggs Benedict with a side of plain grits. Hubby had a JJ Omelette. Both meals were very good. My eggs were cooked perfectly medium, just as I ordered them. Grits were cooked nice and creamy, but still had enough texture to live up to their name. The Hollandaise sauce was very tasty - worth every calorie. (Even though I like my Hollandaise a bit more lemony, this sauce was quite good and I did enjoy it.) Hubby liked his omlette. It was a very generous serving, topped with JJ's special-made pepper jack cheese sauce. He got a side of hash brown casserole, which he said was also quite good. We asked for spicy picante sauce, and it was great. I believe they also make this in-house. All told, a very good meal! Recommended. read more
